The food and coffee was really good, I got a chicken panini, split pea soup, and a latte. There seemed to be a lot of bread to filling ration for the sandwich but still good. The reason I rate 3 stars is because there seemed to be no attempt to enforce social distancing the people behind us in line were very close and even the people behind them were within 6 feet and the staff didn't say anything. The table that was open when we were there was dirty so I am wondering how much they sanitize between customers. My coffee cup also had something on the handle and outside of the cup, not sure what it was.

If you're looking to grab a good cup of coffee, but want something different than your standard Starbucks or Tim Horton's fare, then you should give Petra's a try. While they have a large inside space, and a just-as-big patio for days with good weather, Petra's always seems to be busy so you may struggle to grab a seat during peak times.

Went there today to have a large latte, skim milk, no foam. I got a vanilla latte with foam. I asked for a replacement and was told that it was announced what it was before I took it. All I heard was: “ large latte” I got the right coffee nevertheless, this time with about thirty percent foam. I asked to get it corrected and to fill the paper cup by adding more milk. I like the looks I get when I nicely ask for getting what I ordered originally. The third time was the charm with the caveat that the coffee wasn’t hot anymore. I love this place and always leave a tip, especially during these stressful times of COVID. The owners are really friendly and part of the community. On the other hand, some the people hired are either not properly trained or have just no awareness or thrive for proper customer service. Maybe something to consider. Cheers!

Great meeting place. Wheelchair accessible. Roomy patio. Had the smoked meat sandwich. Very good but woulda been nice to at least get a pickle or some coleslaw on the plate with the sandwich. It looked lonely.

We visited this cafe 10 years ago when we first moved to Tsawwassen. It was a rather disappointing experience so we never set our feet in again. Two weeks ago we decided to give it another try since we always wonder why it is packed with people? Boy, am I glad we tried! The decor and lighting are so much better now. The coffee, panini and baked goods are delicious! I’ve never gotten excited over a muffin but their gluten-free morning glory muffins are wonderful! Fresh, light and barely sweet. We will become regulars.

Stopped in for a beverage and a snack on the way home from the beach. Lots of tasty choices and the option of a glass of ice to accompany our sodas/juices was very much enjoyed on a hot day. Seating was spacious and comfortable. Will go back to try a meal one evening.

Frustrating to say the least! Ordered two lattes and two breakfast sandwiches. The wait was unnecessarily long as they took our order and continued to help the next five people before making our lattes. The other customers were served their coffees and muffins(heated) before they even started ours. To top it off they served only one breakfast sandwich (even after the lattes) and we had to wait again. We will not be returning.

I had the ham , tomato and cheese panini with corn chowder to go. First all they put my napkin under the sandwich in the to go container and I was picking napkin off my sandwich. The cheese on it was some sort of Velveeta type goo. Eating it was a mess and now I had no napkin. The soup was listed as corn chowder, not spicy corn chowder. It was so spicy I could not finish it and like no corn chowder I have had before.

An absolute staple for Tsawwassen. If you haven't gone to Petra's before you need to go try it out. The extended patio is amazing, food and drinks are great and the staff is always friendly. Lucky to have this great spot in our community!

Let me say 1 star is too good. We went here because last time the food was great. We ordered and paid very quickly. We waited half an hour for one sandwich that had half of the filling that we ordered in the past. One thin layer of meat and same thin layers of veggies. No spinach available instead of lettuce. I had to go up to get my sandwich even though we were given a number for our table. We still did not get our drinks. Again I had to go up and ask where they were. They had two cold coffees sitting on the back counter and they said oh there you are. We couldn't find you. We were inside with our number on the table by the window. By now my sandwich was finished and still no drinks. They wanted to give me the cold drinks, I said no, I want hot drinks and now since it has been almost an hour I need them to go. Again I went back to sit down and wait. Another ten minutes later my husband went up to check on our drinks. Only one was ready. Another 5 minutes and we got our second drink. This kind of service is completely unacceptable. I must also say they had three people on the till and order and coffee area and three or 4 others on sandwich area. No one was cleaning tables or delivering food. It seemed like there was no manager on site. Also, most importantly the restaurant was less than half full. I do not believe I will go back again unless they fix their serving time problems and either reduce the prices or increase the product to reflect a better price for substandard product. This was on March 9 2019 from 12:30 to 1:45pm (not Spring break).

Ok, visited for the first time in a long while. Had family with is from Alberta. We each ordered muffins. Our wives "morning glory and whole grain blueberry muffins were both very dried out and not as tasty as what are supposedly fresh baked,! My Brother in law and I chose a blueberry peach muffin each. The fruit pieces were tasty buff the muffin part on the dry side as well. Oh and our wives ordered mochas but were both served lattes! Most likely will not be back. We live in Tsawwassen and there are other coffee shops.

Still a nice place even though the prices have risen considerably in the last year, staff is still nice and the recent updates have made the place a lot 'warmer' that is was. But...the baking (from l'aromas ) has got steadily worse and today was almost nasty - the bun felt and tasted like it was 3 days old. It is evident, just by looking, that the baker just does not know how to bake, the scones have all the fruit on the bottom, the muffins look like they have exploded some days etc etc. Must improve.

I think over the years there’s been a decline in quality of food and drinks. It seems like the staff could use some training refreshers. A couple examples over the last few visits I ordered a tuna sandwich and my nephew laughed at it and said: I can make one better than that. He’s 7. Ordered an almond milk latte and while the young lady handed it over she said, it’s with regular milk I hope that’s okay. Ordered couple of coffees, one wasn’t the right flavour and both not hot. The menu items are not following the same recipes so inconsistent when ordered.

One of the worst coffee shops ever, stood infront of 2 employees one of which was clearly a manager doing cash, didn't get greeted the entire time after waiting 5 minutes. Asked for 5 sugars which a get is allot but could have used less dirty looks. Then when I try it (clearly 2 sugars watching her free pour) and asked for a little extra cream an sugar not thinking after grabbing all my drinks and a cup I realized I only got cream so I went back asking for more sugar and they both gave me a dirty look and handed 2 sugar packets over. Definitely will not be back!

Hi. Thanks for replying. It wasn't until recent I bought a cookie. I didn't want a peanut butter one but I thought I was pointed to a peanut butter one. I had an allergic reaction. But still. It is better than other places where they don't separately wrap them from non peanut butter cookies. So I would say it is 3.5 stars out of 5 and not that harshly. But there should be clear signage of the peanut thing. Thanks
