What a great find, a wonderful local cafe with amazing coffee! The staff were super friendly and helpful in explaining the types of drinks and how they're made - they even let us taste a few before we ordered. I ordered a vanilla latte that was made perfectly, topped off with some fantastic latte art. We also got a ginger cookie which was scrumptious! Can't wait to be back in Halifax to visit this place again.

Hands down the best cafe in the city! For just a little hole in the wall spot these guys sure know how to make a great cup of coffee. Very good selection of baked goods as well, highly recommend the savory scones if you can get them before they're gone, and if they are you can never go wrong with a delicious cosmic cookie! The staff here are the chillest and nicest people around! If you don't know what you want they will make a great recommendation for you!

Starbucks is just around the corner.... So you should keep walking and come to Weird Harbour Espresso bar!!! Smiles, happy place where I went for coffee practically every day. Had their Soy latte and it had the best rich Ballance flavors o crave for. Scones and pastries are also great and you know they are not made in a factory and shrink-wrapped like the other place around that corner!! I'd rather be Weird than follow the norms!!

The venue is small (something to keep in mind if you’re planning to drink there) but they serve great coffee and have soy, almond, coconut and oat milk options. I would have purchased some of their beans if I had space for it in my luggage.

Just visited ! One of my favourite things to do when traveling is trying local cafes in the city and trying their beans and espresso. The barista was SO friendly, the atmosphere has such positive energy and vibes, and most importantly the coffee is fantastic! Also the tea biscuit/scone was so delicious (and as a Brit it passed my expectations! ). The drinks were made perfectly with proper ratios and latte art. Everyone enjoyed their drinks. Will come back tomorrow before we leave the city !

Weird Harbour is a fixture in my everyday life as I work in the office upstairs and I pass by it every morning! My go to drink is Americano and it's soo good. Today was especially extra special as Dan (the owner & barista) celebrated the one year anniversary by giving out cute cupcakes! Can't recommend this place enough.

The square footage of this cafe is small and it's easy to miss it but if you can find it you won't regret stopping by. The coffee is amazing, well priced and the service is friendly. So, walk right by the terrible coffee at Starbucks (just a few doors down), and look for the small 'Weird Harbour' sign and treat yourself.

This is the best espresso in the city and an excellent place to be a regular. The service is the warmest you could ever wish for. Treats are supplied by Local Source and there is always an excellent variety. Not much space for sitting, but in good weather you're only steps away from the Waterfront or Grand Parade. I haven't tried the tea offerings yet, but the iced tea jar is going to sway me one of these days.

It's easily become one of my favorite coffee shops in downtown Halifax. They have at least seven different milk or milk substitutes to choose from (3.25%, coconut, almond, soy, cashew, oat, lactose free). Their menu prices include taxes, and all drinks are double shots of espresso unless explicitly stated otherwise. They always have a gluten free option. Every time I've asked for it, they immediately ask about other potential food allergies to make sure what is in that gluten free option is a-okay. It's a must see, little stop on Barrington, that everyone should try at least once.

I've been meaning to check this place out since before they opened. I finally made my way in here the other day and am so glad I did. This place is somewhat hidden. They only have a window decal up to identify the storefront. Inside is bare-bones (in a good way!), eclectic minimalist decor. It's very clean and bright. There isn't much space for seating, however. It's a bit of a smaller space - maybe 4-5 seats? The guy working here was SO nice. Also, an incredible multi-tasker. I overheard him talking to the customer ahead of me regarding milk options and he was offering to bring in a few cartons of customer's go-to milk. How sweet is that?! He described all of the yummy snacks they were offering. There wasn't much, but it all looked delicious. I had the muffin-cookie thing and a latte. Both were fantastic. I'm picky when it comes to lattes, and this one was exceptional. Prices were reasonable too - exactly what you would expect for an espresso-based coffee drink. 10/10 I definitely recommend checking out this little coffee joint. It's definitely a gem.

Great little coffee spot on Barrington. Owner is super friendly and the space is bright and minimalist. They have gluten free options for treats plus the usual stuff. Limited seating inside but there's some benches outside for when the weather is nice. Would definitely come back. Coffee was very well made and the gluten free chocolate ball I had was excellent.

Their espresso is excellent, with interesting beans roasted to preserve good origin flavor (no charcoal here!) and expertly pulled: great flavour and texture. The people working there are enthusiastic and knowledgeable. Their bags of beans (now drinking an Ethiopia Gora Kone roasted 10 days ago by Detour) also might be my new favourite in Nova Scotia (ironic, because they are not from here. Perhaps indicative: this is just about the only coffee you can buy here that isn't ashamed to give the roast date). I'm a bit granola, and I am a huge fan of their baked goods. Not too ridiculously over-sweetened, probably reasonably healthy, I think some of them are gluten-free (?), a good match for an afternoon coffee.

Top notch espresso coffee drinks, super cool and friendly staff, great vibe, fun place to sit and chill with your coffee. Their coffee is made on Detour beans, and is delicious. Partner got a Chai tea latte, which the barista kindly made using a tea bag rather than syrup. Their chocolate brownie cookie with sea salt was delicious. Only downside is the limited seating (about 5 seats).

The best London Fog in Downtown Halifax - and I’ve been drinking them all over this area since mid-July. I’ll be going back there a few more times before I have to go back to Tucson... but to be honest, I’d much rather stay here. Halifax already feels like home to me and I absolutely love the people here. Probably my favourite place to get a coffee or latte. After going to multiple places during my stay in Halifax, I would definitely be coming back here. The interior is simple and just bar sitting. It’s more of a pick up and go. Not ideal for long chats. The latte was delicious. Not overly sweet and a nice ratio of espresso to milk. The staff was friendly and kind enough to walk me through their menu. Luckily for me there was no one waiting behind me.

Have a great selection of pastries as well. Perfect for the grab your cup of coffee and go as seating is limited. But if you able to get a seat they have great local magazines for your pleasure

Having read the excellent reviews decided to give it a try. Ordered a couple of lattees, a cookie and a seeded/oat cake. My wife thought the cookie was very basic and lacked taste. We both found the lattees to be to cold. Just warm. Bit of a disappointment for us.

I came across this highly rated cafe while searching online for a cappuccino near me. It was well worth the 15min walk. The cafe is small, only allowing 3 people in the shop right now but the line moves quickly. Staff were friendly and anticipated my needs offering me a tray for my two beverages. I ordered a cappuccino, americano, butter tart and ginger snap cookie sandwich. The beverages were made at an ideal temperature allowing you to drink them right away, no burning your tongue here. The ginger snap cookie sandwich was the star between the two pastries. If I lived here I would be tempted to make the 15min walk daily for a cappuccino and ginger snap cookie sandwich.

Small spot, feels like you're in the way when there's a lineup, but I can see why it is popular. Service was great, these guys obviously really love their work. Fair prices, given the quality. The Americano was decent, they asked if I wanted more or less water, which is a nice touch as I like them a little stronger. The scone I had was okay, but was generous in size and not overpriced. All in all, go to this place instead of the Starbucks down the street especially if you're going to drink coffee. These guys are local, the product is better, and the people are friendly.

Really fantastic coffee. I’m not from Halifax so I just dropped in as I walked by and what a great find. Only downside Is that there’s only four seats, so if you get the classic “buy a coffee and sit for 2 hours” kind of people, you’re going to be standing. All in all though, a great cup of coffee in a trendy joint.

If you want to take someone for a coffee downtown and show them a super cool spot with great roast, this is it. There are several great brewers in halifax, but none with a storefront as unique as Weird Harbor. Strongly recommend going here.

Wonderful coffee shop, one of my favourites in Halifax and definitely the best coffee I've found in the city. The atmosphere inside is fantastic, relaxing and clean. The staff are always friendly and love to strike up conversation when they're not busy. I found it to be a great place to grab a coffee with friends, or sit and read while enjoying a coffee.

I'm from NZ where, in cafes, you'd only find espresso coffee. If you enjoy the Australian and New Zealand coffee culture (think modern, fresh and interesting coffee scene, incorporating those 'chic' home vibes) then this is 100% the best place to visit. Truly it is the best espresso coffee I've had since arriving in Halifax and the staff are super sweet too. There is unfortunately limited spacing inside, due to the small size of the 'bar'. If you can get a seat, I recommend sitting down with a latte and enjoying the interior whilst watching the world go by ????????
