I have only ordered tripple cafe mocha's here but 9 times out of 10 they are really delicious. Price is about 8 dollars after tip so just a once in a while thing for me, can't justify spending that much on a coffee outside of once a month or so. Slow servicebut quality product.

I always liked going here as a student at SMU, and still enjoy going here if I have meetings nearby. The Chai Latte here is one of the best I think I've had in the city. Period. The only things that need improvement are the tables, furniture, and furnishings. Everything looks a little beaten up. I think it's time for an upgrade.

Great food and best coffee I have tried. We have gone many times and there have never been anything wrong with our food/drink choice. I normally would order a latte with a milk alternative. The atmosphere is always nice, the staff are friendly and welcoming. I would say this is a great environment to study in, but keep in mind it can get packed really quickly if you do this. Their sandwiches are always satisfying, and their everything bagel seems to be sweet/savoury style which has been impossible to find at any grocery.

3 stars for the coffee and food, 2 for the service. I live near there so I sometimes go to this coffee shop for my coffee to start my morning, and their coffee is good TBH. HOWEVER, even tips I give won't change their attitude towards me. I do see a change in service depending on the customer they serve--which is why I feel uncomfortable. I won't say it's a racial thing because that's way too far but I would say there might be something they have about me...

Lovely atmosphere and really cool vibe. The staff were great. We went for a meetup and had tea (I had a London fog and my partner had peppermint herbal) and a baked good that tasted like Turtles chocolate. SO GOOD! One of the best London Fogs I've had in the city and the peppermint tea was excellent as well. The baked good especially hit the spot. Highly recommend. The thing that really sealed the deal for me was the staff. Very unique individuals, uncommon, you could say. Really rang true to the name. A place for people of many backgrounds to come together and connect. Will definitely be back here. Thanks for a great experience.

Loved the place! Great atmosphere for reading or studying or gathering with friends or just spending a relaxing time. Variety of coffee options, snacks, and lunch. It’s family friendly and accessible. The main door is not accessible with few steps to enter. However, there is an accessible door on the side with accessible washroom.

Wonderful coffee, I actually enjoyed there blend. The decor and seats are quite welcoming. One could spend quite a good amount of time. They have charging point but besides new papers and few magazines no other reading material. I also tried ginger multi-grain muffin and it tasted really good.

A unique modern place for a good cup of coffee or tea. The atmosphere is more modern and seating isn't usually an issue. Being off the beaten path a bit allows for this place to be more of a local joint that caters to coffee and tea lovers. Busy but not overwhelming, for the most part, good place to read a book or study, and their food is well priced and quite tasty.

Lovely design and ambience, looks like a fun place to get things done. Nice trinkets and coffee accessories as well as bulk fair trade beans. The art on the walls is very modern and contemporary and there's some comfy places to sit, although they are limited on electric outlets unfortunately. I have yet to try a lot of the things on their menu but the iced coffee I ordered came out pretty warm (no ice) and very weak. I had to get them to add more espresso and ice after drinking some of the half warm stuff down, but it still tasted very watery. Maybe I'll try some of their other products some time.

I ordered my usual drink at any cafe and they made me feel very uncomfortable / like I didn’t know what I was talking about. So I tried to break it down to the cashier / barista and apologized for any confusion, they still kind of looked at my like I was silly, I make coffee for a living so I was confused why they where making it so confusing. Even if a cafe menu is slightly different than others usually when your working the till you can pick up what the customer is trying to order. But alas the drink was made well!

I can say Uncommon Grounds has consistently great coffee: very smooth, low acidity. Staff are super friendly and chill. Prices are great too (at least for this Vancouver gal).

Uncommon Grounds was my go to spot when I was in university, the coffee is delicious as well as the baked goods and the panini's, I also remember loving the veggie fritatas they have. I've never left disappointed here, the staff are always so happy and friendly. I stopped by the other day for the first time in a long time and was thoroughly pleased that they are still as great as they used to be. The pecan triangles are delicious, ended up also having the apple and brie panini, no complaints and can't wait to come back! Super cute little cafe good for your coffee's or stopping in for lunch/ a little snack.

Of all the local coffee shops in Halifax, this one wins by a longshot. The staff are ALWAYS kind and willing to go the extra mile. Their coffee is reasonably priced and great. My go to drink is a triple shot in the dark (yes a lot of caffine) and it is way cheaper than other coffee shops. On top of that, they care about their community and work with Laing House. And, unlike many local coffee chains, no public scandals!! I am so happy to have one so close to my house!

My favourite coffee shop in the whole city. The decor is modern industrial and they have ample seating. Their treats, like Nanaimo bars, brownies and cookies are delicious. Coffee is usually decent here - always fresh and well made. One of the issues I have noticed here is that the food, baked goods, and snacks are not really that good. I have been to this location several times and have noticed this issue quite a bit. The atmosphere is quite nice and allows you to relax quite easily. The sofas and chairs are decently coomfortable.

My coworker brought me here today because she recommended the frittatas which are an amazing price and absolutely delicious! You can get them on a bagel and it's a filling meal for just over $6. Wanted to check out a local coffee shop, ended up waiting way too long for ordering to start with. Ordered a hot Chai latte that came cold and a latte which came too hot. The order was reversed. Ordered the avacado toast which never came and when it did after repeated asks, it was burnt. Only good thing was they refunded me for the toast when i refused to take it. The whole thing felt quite uncomfortable as if we weren't welcome there and they could care less about our order compared to others. Super disappointing.

Great place to study with plenty of tables spread widely apart and great coffee. Service was exceptional - I watched as a very difficult customer gave one of the servers a hard time, and he was nothing but polite and attentive.

I love this place! The coffee is absolutely fantastic, the baristas are friendly and the clientele is agreeable It's a coffee shop that actually bakes their baked goods and brews their own coffee. It also doesn't cater much to the 'far left hipster white girls' It feels like a how a Haligonian coffee shop should feel like. Coffee from beans instead of an instant mix, Cinnamon rolls from the oven instead of the freezer, and an atmosphere you can enjoy your coffee with some free WiFi There is also a location on Barrington St. and inside The Public Gardens

Uncommon Grounds is a wonderful coffee shop located in the South End of Halifax. The atmosphere (decor, seating, music, etc) is very fitting to the area and is pleasing to spend time in. The coffee is fantastic and the staff are all incredibly friendly. I study at Uncommon Grounds about four hours a week and I always manage to get a lot of work done due to the very calming atmosphere. Definitely recommend!

Been coming here for years, It's my go to place for all my coffee/snacks needs. Fun decor, comfortable seating and tasty treats. The London fog is the best I've had in the city and their baked goods are always fresh and flavorful. Highly recommended.

Consistently the worst cup of coffee in the city (that I’ve tried; maybe their espresso is better?!). I’ve also bought a bag of whole beans and didn’t even finish it, just threw it away. Try your ice coffee and tell me it’s good, honestly… two stars because your snacks and food look good.
