My mom and dad used to go before I was born....then I started going....now my daughter is going, lots more to be said but this statement says everything. The staff incredible, old school charm, service and respect....food great and reasonably priced....my favorite breakfast that's NOT overinflated price of 11 dollars or more.

Best breakfast in the west end! I've been going here for as long as I can remember. Used to have lunch with my dad here when I was younger. Just an awesome family owned and operated business. Amazing staff! Excellent food! You really feel welcomed and known when you go. Not just a number kinda feel. Love it! Highly recommend.

My husband and I love this restaurant. We love watching the staff switch from English to French seamlessly as if it was one language bonding everyone. The food is fantastic - love the home made breakfast potatoes.

It's a quaint little diner. I only had a cup of coffee, and it was great. There's no wifi, so if you plan on doing some study here then you'll have to set up your own hotspot.

Been going here for over 30 years but the place took a nose dive recently. The pea soup was just canned peas served in the brine they were packed with, I could hardly believe it. The French toast had no cinnamon or sugar, it's just toast dipped in egg then barely cooked. It's more like a charity for the old fella than a restaurant these days. Really, really sad that it's such a terrible business now. It was a part of my growing up experience, now it's just a bad experience

Very bad service and experience I asked for a white milk for my toddler and they gave me a glass of milk that has been gone bad!!! When i told the waitress she didn’t even say sorry or anything just asked me what i wanted then. My surprise is that i was charged for that glass of milk at the end of the visit.... i also wasnt offered a box for my food to go neither got my coffee refill when asked. I would not recommend a place where they really dont care for customer service.

What a cute place. It is a little diner and it is very authentic. I will definitely return. The prices are very affordable and the food quite good. I really enjoyed their turkey Noodle soup. Had a tangy flavor like lemon was added. I had the fish and chips special which included the soup and rice pudding. All very tasty. Sorry the food is already being eaten. But it was good. Did I mention that?

Mellos gets five stars for delivering exactly what they promise - which is food at a reasonable price. The décor is dated and the style of food old fashioned, but it serves a specific demographic - I could imagine someone coming here for breakfast, lunch and dinner, even if they were on a budget and doing quite well. I could see myself being a regular here and they do have a lot of regulars and they know their names. They do what they do well.

The location is like going back to the past. It is relatively clean from what you see. The fish and chips was good but the coleslaw tasted like it was sitting for a while. The rice Pudding was alright. The jello had the hard edge mixed in. Not that appetizing. I gave it 3 stars. I probably wouldn't go back again.

Be careful navigating the entrance as you enter Mellos. Not only is there an awkward step and a coat rack and two doors to negotiate, it's also a time machine. Im surprised cell phones even operate once inside Mellos, since its like you have been transplanted back 25 years. The prices, menu, portions, and decor are all from a bygone era. As i was waiting for my order ... i half expected Matlock to walk through the door. All this to say I found Mellos a refreshing experience. The food (only ever had breakfast) is good even if it is a meal I could exactly replicate at home. Nothing fancy here = no unnecessary calories which is a good thing. So why 3 stars. 2 reasons, and I realize I am nitpicking. #1- I like to have my coffee promptly refilled at breakfast. I found they were quite lazy with the refills on my last visit. Now i will give a place a pass if they are busy, but this wasn't case. #2 Our family thought the waiter was badass when he took our orders without writing anything down ... but not so badass when some of our orders were missed. So I hope to return to Mellos and give it the 4 stars I think it deserves. In the meantime, if you are tired of the lavish breakfast options at Denny's or Cora's I recommend you check out Mellos.
