This bread is the only bought bread that has ever tasted as good as my husband’s naturally leavened bread at home. It is far superior to any other naturally leavened bread you can buy out there. There is so much flavour and a way more authentic texture that is simply absent from other bakeries. Knowing what it takes to make bread like this at home, we can tell that they truly care and take the time necessary to create these loaves properly. I can only assume that other bakeries rush things or use lesser quality ingredients that just don’t have this same result. Outstanding bread. Don’t ever change!!!

Update: Thanks for the correction! I didn't know it was not suppose to be cinnamon, so I updated my score 5/5 ⭐ Come if you want pastries that doesn't cut any corners. I ordered a apple pecan pastry $5, croissant $3.50, and cinnamon knot $3. The apple pecan packed a lot of flavor and has great texture. You can tell they put extra attention in crafting this wonderful masterpiece. The croissant was flaky, light and buttery. It tasted like the ones I had in France. The cinnamon knot was my least favorite but it was okay. I believe it was cinnamon but honestly I didn't really look at the sign. The service was friendly and professional. The location is in a industrial area tucked around the side. I drove by the first time but spotted their lawn signage. It's not much to look at from the outside or inside. I do wish they had a little more choices. I don't mind paying more for better quality food but it's still a tad pricier than I would like to pay. That's why it prevented me from giving it 5 stars. My recommendation is grab a coffee or tea, pick up a few pastries and head over to a park to enjoy them.

OMG the Cinnamon Morning Roll! -talk about combining all the most fabulous qualities of baked goods - a combo of croissant pastry, tastiness of a cinnamon bun, accompanied with the gooey richness of fresh melting cream cheese icing. My taste buds were so happy this morning. Glad to have discovered this hidden gem of crazy deliciousness.

I love love love this bakery. The sourdough breads, croissants, and other items are so we'll made. Yes you may pay a bit more than commercial breads at the grocery store but wouldn't you for quality, and "real" sourdough? The croissants are wonderful light, flaky, and not greasy. There is real love and care baked into this bread. I can't say enough about this place and the staff. Superb. If you're in town you must try it. If you've had sourdough in the past and didn't like it. Try it again here. I will guarantee you it's not anything like you've had before. I used to not like sourdough till I came here. And it's great if you have digestive issues with regular bread. I just wish I could take this bakery with me when we leave the island in the spring.

Thank goodness Google Maps guided me here on my way home to Campbell River because I never would have found it on my own. I bought a loaf of delicious round bread and some chocolate puff pastry thing that made me wish I had bought six instead of only one. From now on Honey Grove is must stop location whenever I am down to Courtenay.
