Upsides: The servers are fantastic. The food was plated nicely as well. They have some tastey cocktails and the fries are good too. Downsides: Calamari was soggy with grease and squishy. My main was cheap diner quality in taste - absolutely edible but a let down. I ordered a steak and sent it back because it was so over cooked which I was pretty embarrassed to do but after my disappointing apply I decided to be that person. It was also pretty flavorless other than what assume was powder mix gravy poured over it. The fish with the fish and chips was very dry. Overall I think it's a nice place but I did feel that the price is high for the food quality.

Scrumptious! With a full dining room, the kitchen staff are very good at honoring special requests from allergies to preferences, all without sacrifice to quality. Food and drinks are consistent with every visit. Atmosphere is just right and not overbearingly sleazy like cactus club. Service is sincere and the front staff have a solid knowledge of the menu and the kitchens capabilities or limitations. In fact I'm booking another reservation for this weekend, right now. See you there!

I hate that I have to give this a 1 because I love their food but TERRIBLE SERVICE. Honestly my experience this weekend almost ruined my staff Christmas party. I had arranged a very large food order for a Sunday late evening. I phoned Saturday and everything was still a go, and Skip would deliver. I phoned again at 4pm on Sunday and said “hey I have a large order, I’d like to place it now so you have time to arrange it. I’m not too concerned about timing, I just need it at 7pm or later”. I was told “We don’t take early orders. Call back 35-45 minutes in advance.” So I called back at 6:45 and was told NO TAKE OUT. I was livid. This was over $650 plus tip for my food order. To be told all weekend “yep, yep, yep” and then cancel on me when I have hungry staff members late on a Sunday evening is ridiculous. I was stuck scrambling trying to get food when I could have been told “No” days or even hours in advance.

Checked out Fluid while staying at the Kingfisher Resort. Most restaurants were closed on Monday's so we we were pleased to find Fluid open. Food and service were very good. I had the Kung Pow stir fry with flat iron steak. Steak was very tender, cooked as requested medium rare and had great flavor. My wife had the oven baked bolognese. Great flavor with a nice amount of spice from the chorizo sausage. We had the local hazy IPA and a glass of house red. Both were very good, but the wine I thought was a touch expensive. I'd have no problem returning if we are in Courtenay again. The menu was varied and the service excellent.

Ate here around 10+ years ago. Was really good, but didn't go back until last night. Not sure why we waited so long to return! Burger was fantastic, and the fries were among the best fries I have ever had in my life. After we placed our drink order, it seemed like quite the wait to place our food order - but the food came very quickly once ordered so that largely made up for the order wait. Highly recommended. I certainly won't be waiting another 10 years to return!

Fluids is a staple. My bestie and I always go their for special occasions. Our favourite things are the drinks! Really good Martinis and Bellini‘s! Also love the baked Brie, spinach and asiago dip, lettuce wrap, and fluid Reuben sandwich! Best causal restaurant in Courtenay.

Fluid is a good place to go if you can’t pick what you want to eat. The selection/variety of food is pretty good and they have good drink specials that change everyday. It is slightly over priced on certain items, but fair for others. If someone suggests to go to Fluid, I am usually down to go. Service is pretty good.

Pros: quick service, friendly staff; cons: limited tap selection, overly expensive for what amounts to an average and uninspiring pub menu with parsley garnishing everything. I don’t like leaving bad reviews and I think the staff treated us well but I was truly confused as to how this place had so many positive reviews based on our overall experience. If the menu was around half the price or the food was twice as good it would make more sense. The next day during our trip we ate significantly better food for half the cost at a local hole in the wall in Port Hardy. Covid-19 limited our options in the Courtenay/Comox area but I still wish we would have found another place open that better represents what Courtenay/Comox has to offer. Locals was full; maybe next time.

The service was friendly and efficient, the only reason I gave this review any stars at all. The food quality was not very good. My chicken wings were breaded and very soggy. Instead of blue cheese dip they gave me ceasar salad dressing. I was only able to choke down a few wings. My friends fish and chips were hard from overcooking.

When we came into the restaurant no one was wearing masks and staff were congregating all together. When my wife asked why none of the staff were wearing masks, the hostess looked at my wife bewildered as if she was crazystating that they don't need to with a very facetious tone...saying they have a system in place to minimize the amount of touch points...due to our comfort level we never ate here but if staff attitude was part of the experience, we are glad we didn't stay.

We will definitely be back Edit: Almost forgot to mention the serving sizes are incredibly generous. My father in law got the fish and chips and the 1 piece of cod he got was bigger than most places 2 piece.

Myself and 3 other people came to eat at Fluid on BC day- It was quite busy because it was quite literally the only restaurant open at the time! So, service was a little slow. I have to say though, the servers where very calm and collected, and where very attentive to my dietary restrictions which was incredibly appreciated considering how busy it was! The food was amazing, everyone at my table was very happy with their meals. A lot of times when restaurants get that busy the quality of the food and quality of service suffers- but that wasn't the case here at all. Awesome job, we will definitely return next time we're in town!

I wasn't impressed with the fact that they refused to split my pizza half and half between two flavours but the rest of my experience made up for it. The carnivore pizza with its smoky bacon, delicious marinara, and heavenly bourbon BBQ sauce was perfect. My date's chicken Alfredo pasta was also bomb AF as were our habanero wings. Cole was an absolute darling; attentive, quick, and in tune with our energy. Definitely recommend this place to anyone who likes good eats.

The ceasar salad was very good but in all honesty I think there trying to pass off tilapia as Cod. I know fish and that definitely wasn't Cod. You can tell by the texture and flavors definitely not Cod. Wasn't impressed with that part of my dinner.

Quick service, it was kind of empty at the time we went as it was late, yet super loud just with the employees. They were very loud among themselves, "chatting" loudly with each other while there was customer by the bar where they were , going in and out some sort of patio maybe and still talking loud with each other even from a distance. Food was good, nothing very impressive though but to me it was a lot of food (mostly with pieces of ginger and lots of veggies with just a bit of rice and chicken), so unfortunately I had to leave part of it there. Glad it was one of the fewer restaurants open at that time, just could be a lot better if it was a bit more "peaceful", less loud ;)

Have been to Fluid many times, and always enjoyed it. Good food at a reasonable price, and decent service. It's a bar, though, so if you're going late at night, or during a hockey game, you get a fair number of beer-swilling, truck-driving good old boys. So if you're into that, great, go then. If not, pick another time.

It's a solid 3 star experience. It's typical bar food, with decent and quick service. The atmosphere is trying too hard however. it's dark and dingy inside, with loud music. The waiters dress in fancy dresses, but it feels out of place to the quality of the food and atmosphere. The staff were friendly and accommodating, a mistake was made with the 'doneness' of a steak, but they resolved it quickly and satisfactorily.

What a difference 6 months can make...we have been here before at Christmas and had an amazing experience with the staff, the service and the food. I don't know if it's because of covid or maybe some staff changes but we did not have the same welcoming. The hostess must have been having a bad day, she didn't even smile once! Our server was efficient and was a little more pleasant than the hostess. The food was good for some in our group and just ok for others.

Absolutely terrible food. We had the pulled pork tacos and the BBQ chicken wrap. It was so greasy and flavorless I couldn't even eat it. The service was good and the beer was cold which was amazing. Good place to come if you're just having drinks with friends, but not for a meal... If you have any taste buds, don't come here.

I ordered a dinner tonight and they said it would take 30 minutes to be ready. However, after 30 minutes, we went to the restaurant and they said it still hasn’t been ready yet. After we waited in the car for another 10 minutes, they still haven’t called us yet, so we needed to call them back and check it up. They are just starting to pack it up. However, the chicken wings that I ordered are really dried and hard to bite, but the sandwich is pretty good. Would not go back again though.

Well over all I have to say not very good at all in the service department. Atmosphere was relaxing, the food was more tasty on the second visit. If fact I'd say it was down right good. On he first visit, had salad that was bland. Waiter threw out my meal instead of packing it to eat later as he was asked. He also forgot our drink order, and seamed to prefer to hang out at the end of the bar than serve his guests. Second visit was bare bones basic by somebody who obviously had no sense of professional service. No follow up service or topping off of my drink, slow on taking the order. Now I'm gonna try to flag her down to get the bill. Wish me luck

Hi! I took my friend on Feb 15 2020 for dinner for her birthday. Ordered falafel lettuce wraps. Had to send it back, falafel's were burned on the outside and uncooked inside. Service was okay. Bar section was very loud with lots of F words flying around. Future visit?? No.

Awful customer service. Staff is unfriendly and not helpful whatsoever. Ordered takeout and my Apple Pay wasn’t working for whatever reason, the bartender looked at me like I didn’t have any money and scooped my food away “til I figure it out” without offering help. I was also told my estimated wait time would be 30 minutes and ended up getting my food 1 hour later. Would not recommend lol.

The outdoor patio was nicely heated but the food could use some tweaking. Dry garlic ribs were delish but who serves a torpedo size piece of fish on a round bun?? Not to mention the fish had no seasoning what so ever. While I'm on the topic of bland, let me add their chicken quesadilla's to that category as well. The pizza came drenched in balsamic vinegar so that was a big disappointment as well. Service was prompt and very friendly. Fluid, I've heard good things about you but the food tonight leaves me thinking I won't be back.

Amazing service as always. Lots of menu choices. Highly recommend the dynamite sticks, Milan pizza, tower of nachos and the honey garlic wings. Been dining here for years and always enjoy the atmosphere and friendly staff.
