Damian Lalonde-Pulcini

Best damn coffee you will ever have! Bye bye Starbucks hello MELK! Best recommendation for a coffee I was ever given. The people working here are always smiling, polite and friendly and the coffee is exceptional

Daphney Laroche

What kind of coffee shop doesn’t have wifi

Magda Bâlon

Great coffee, amazing hot (or cold) chocolate for kids with a yummy and home made marshmallow. Good selection of coffees, pastries and coffee tumblers/cups for those who wish to be zero waste.

Annie Yang

Coffee is delish and the cafe has such a nice ambiance. Barista was friendly and nice. Would totally recommend to try their treats with a latte

Leeloo Hsu

The match latte is fine, the service is awesome!

Mike Porcelli

Great little place, great coffee. Nice staff

Steph U

Best vanilla latte around! Really, just great coffee on the whole. Nicely balanced espresso and fun snacks (though I found the filter coffee to be way too heavy and overpowering). Super crowded any time of day, so have a plan B if you're looking to sit down and chat.

Michael Metzen

Very good selection of coffee and other hot beverages such as hot chocolate for take-out or to drink it there. They also have some pastries like scones or muffins. The staff is friendly and speaks French and English.

Mathieu Rivest

Good coffee and great service/staff but could have more vegan pastries/options. Good selection of plant based milks

Genevieve Paul-Hus

Love the matcha and scones, they're delicious

Alexandra Negru

Great coffee consistently, busy and hard to sit down to chill but if you come on a Sunday before closing cah cues are you'll get to relax and get a spot!

Stephanie Navarro

Overpriced coffee but soooo good. Pastries are home made and delicious ????

Regina Calcagno

Amazing scone!!!! Nothing I've ever tasted before. Tea selection is excellent as well, really nice place to relax and have a nice cup of tea <3

Oscar J. Acosta

Great coffee, and good seating area, a bit noisy and difficult to have a conversation. I'd suggest to lower the music volume and/or change the music selection so that it does not compete with concentration our conversation.

Olivia Vincelli

Though the brand of coffee they brew is good (49th parallel is a great coffee), they have consistently messed up my orders. The odd time they do get it right, it doesn't taste good. The food items are good though.

Mark N

One of my personal favourite location for a real cup of coffee at anytime of the day. One mouth-watering bite, and you'll be back for more! So yummy !

Olivia Schultz

I always really love it here. They have fantastic coffee, and the staff is always so friendly. Great experience and fantastic coffee selections.

Javier Romero

I discovered Melk in the Old Port and was so happy to know there was one close by. Their bake goodies are to die for, their chai latte is everything, and they are always happy to see you :) Can't wait for COVID to be over so I can also sit there and enjoy the nice environnement

Alison Alikona

Amaaaazing super stellar coffees as always. And oh my goodness are the staff ever divine. SO sweet and speedy and friendly and bilingual (I speak French too so we spoke both languages with ease and it was super lovely). Gotta love local goodness! And their CORTADOS...gold

Veronica Ortiz Rodriguez

I thoroughly enjoy this café bar on Monkland. Cordial service and nice vibes. Great coffee, delicious pastries, small fridge with snacks & beverages (yogurt, chia pudding, kombucha, Kiju juices, etc) and even some meals to go such as salad bowl. They also sell Parallel and Detour coffees as well as brewing goodies (accessories, KeepCups, Chemex, Barista Alternative Milks, etc.) Great place to read a book/mag, meetup with friends and even work on your latptop. There is no wifi: it has its upside and downside. Upside being that seating becomes available within a reasonable timeframe! Downside: you’ll have to Hot-Spot? No biggy!

Zakia

No wifi so I couldn't stay here to do my homework

Jamie Le Tual

I've never had a bad experience here, the staff are polite and attentive as well as relaxed and welcoming. I am addicted to their chaï soy latttes ????

Raphaël Tremblay

Delicious coffee and baked goods. They have very interesting flavours of latte to discover this fall! Go check it out if you're around.

Mike Silas

Beautiful cafe in the heart of the NDG village. Recently renovated and double the size. The new layout is beautiful and welcoming. The make the best scones I’ve ever had hands down. The one and only thing I don’t like is that they seem to use different blends in there house coffee. So some days I love the coffee and other not so much. Otherwise, love this spot

Chris Karpyszyn

Best 3rd Wave coffee shop in the city.

Alexander Yu

I loved visiting this cafe. In terms of the cappuccino it tasted great though i think i like darker flavors. The staff was super nice and answered all my questions. Next time I hope they can brew a darker roast for the cappuccino. But this was good.

Stephanie

as someone who has been a barista for years, this melk location always serves quality coffee. The ambiance is good as well, good for studying. Staff is super nice!

Franco Sciannamblo

The staff are all super friendly and kind and on top of that they are all passionate about coffee. Great atmosphere and great place to sit and enjoy a caffeinated experience.

Kaylee Fredensborg

Amazing scones! And really good coffee. On the expensive side, though.

Katie Momo

One of my fav work haunts. I love the newly renovated space - it’s light, open, and airy. Kind of like a posh Instagram influencer’s dream space. What I’m not so hot on is the music. Sometimes it’s great. Sometime it sucks. Sometimes it’s too loud. You just never know what you’re walking into... it can either turn you into a work powerhouse - or be a total distraction. The muffins. CAN WE TALK ABOUT THE MUFFINS. The berry muffin in particular is a showstopper. It’s so chock full of berries and most (I know, gross word, but still) it literally falls apart and begs to be eaten. And the crumble top staaaaahp it, too good! Honourable mention also goes to the banana chocolate chip muffin. I haven’t seen it in a while (might be seasonal) but the poppyseed lemon loaf should be outlawed for its addictive quality. Actually, maybe THAT’S why I don’t see it on the menu anymore. I also like that more Melks are cropping up around the city do there are more places to take in the chill vibe. #nailingit

Bryce Dymond

Really enjoyed my time and coffee. The baked goods were delicious and coffee met my standards with beans from Monogram, Detour and 49th Parallel. The staff were witty, friendly and helpful, it was clear they liked their jobs and serving their cliental. I'm looking forward to returning when the temperatures are not so ungodly.

Paris Williams

Delicious espresso based drinks! Delicious scones and donuts! Beautiful layout and super friendly staff! Definitely in my top 5 favorite cafes in Montreal!

Scarlett James

Nice place, quaint, and the renovations look good. Coffee very good. Have to try the baked good one time! It is a yes

Dave Bradley

Great local place to have a coffee. Staff polite and responsive. Sells it's own home roasted coffee as well as Monogram coffee. Well worth the visit.

Chloe Chartier

My favorite café! Great service, great seasonal drinks and every vegan milk option you could imagine

Gulen Buyukbayram

Melk used to be our favorite coffee shop. The coffee and milk ratio and the froth of the latte used to be perfect but unfortunately lately with the new hires, the quality dropped quite noticeably. The management should consider training the new baristas more thoroughly!

frootloop edibles

Great coffee, yummy scones, interesting milk options. If you're having a long, depressing day (or a CaSE of ThE MonDAyS) I have to recommend the hot chocolate with marshmallow & dark choco. It's super rich, not too sweet. I've never had better.

Mackenzie Clayton

Tiny place with limited seating (especially in winter when the terrace isn't open), but the coffee / espresso / baking is great and the staff are all super cool. Chill atmosphere and good tunes. If you're looking for a coffee spot in NDG / Monkland Village, this is it.

Alistair Croll

Great coffee. Their gluten-free apple crumbles are amazing; I'm not a gluten-free fanatic but they're delicious. And sell out fast.

Daniel Striet

Amazing coffee shop! Great service! Highly recommended!

Aidan Pillard

Excellent coffee and quite possibly the best scone I've ever had in my life. I had both the apple cinnamon and the white chocolate raspberry scones. I wouldn't normally go for a white chocolate scone, but this one took the cake--perfectly crispy exterior with a rich, smooth, biscuity interior. I hope to make it back here some time soon!

Marie-Lissa Grenier

Amazing coffee, great service, always with a smile! Try the maple latte :)

Chelsea Patterson

It can be busy in the morning if you need a fast drink. But they do make very good drinks, they have gluten free baked goods. They also have the best Chai mix to help you make it at home.

Laure Prevost

Great local coffee shop, encourages customers to bring their own take away cups. Great variety of coffee drinks and treats.

Raquel Cunha

Best coffee & best baristas. Hands down. My favourite coffee shop in the entire city.

Lamia Said

Amazing scones and teas, didn't try their coffee but it must be good too.

Chelsea Stilwell

Super cool, friendly staff. Trendy and clean spot for studying, hanging out with friends, or taking arty instagram pictures. Limited snack selection (scones, cookies, muffins) and no meals but delicious hot and cold drinks with many vegan milk options.

Susan Jenkins

Clean, pleasant design, great high-end coffee place with wifi and easy mixed crowd. Has nice pastry selection including nice gluten-free baked goods.

Ashutosh Adhikari

Amazing coffee and amazing service! Do go there if you’re on monkland!

Shlomo Benarroch

Awsome ☕ I'm there almost every morning. True 3rd wave.

Brian O Connor (BrianO)

Fast and fresh. Great choice of coffees and desserts. Good views, good seating, and nice people. Enjoy!!

Jo Montreal

Great coffee and goodvatmosphere plus friendly service. But if you are looking to sweat like go here, super hot inside and not comfirtable. Pastries are good but there are maybe 6 choices of which 3 are the same just different shapes.

Judy Hung

We always enjoy the cafe latte and chocolate chips cookies here; nice job on the interior remodel! The only downside is they run out of the cookies today!

Beatrice Arsenault

Great coffee, great service staff, a lot of seating for a small space and a lot of outlets to charge your devices but no wifi... Students beware.

Desiree Boucher

Great place to read or work. Their coffee and baked goods are amazing. They don't have wifi anymore which makes it nice and quiet but can be anoying if trying to find somewhere to work on a computer.

Aurore DUPAIN

Great coffee, matcha and selection of pastries. The staff is ???? too

Yesmine Boukhili

Since the renovations, I visit this coffee shop more often. The coffee, the teas and the scones are excellent, the staff is awesome and everything is homemade. It’s one of the only cafés on Monkland Avenue so it’s always busy. This being said, I’ve never waited more than 10-15 minutes to find a spot where to sit.

Anna Li

Love MELK café's cappuccino. It's the only thing that gets me up on a Saturday morning. Lovely staff, great coffee shop

Jesse Sutherland

Great new place right around the corner from home with very nice atmosphere and very friendly staff. The cortado is the best $3.50 spent anywhere near Monkland. Really, very flavourful, rich and delicious. My favourite cup of coffee.

Kent Tse

I love this coffee shop. The espresso drinks are done right. They have pastries as well as coffee beans that you can buy. The staff is always friendly and helpful.

Kailen Kroeger

No complaints about the coffee but I find it pretty wild that they don't have wifi. Also no highchairs to offer to mothers with babies in the cafe

Chelsie Evans

Great coffee and scones but not a very accessible space, it is too crowded with tables, no high chairs, i don’t recall there being a changing table. And no wifi... sorry but that’s pretty garbage... I bought my 5$ cappuccino, squeezed myself into a table, set up my computer and could not find the network so I squeezed myself back out, asked the barista and was told no wifi... so I downed my cappuccino and went down the street to Starbucks. I was on a deadline and needed to get about 30 min of work done before going to my other job... so basically waste of time and money. Maybe put a sign on the door- No Wifi so ppl don’t waste their time

Samantha Goldwater-Adler

I've been going to MELK religiously for years. Their cappuccino is AMAZING and keeps me coming back daily. The staff is super friendly and down-to-earth. Their cookies and scones are fresh and make for a nice treat. In the summer, my kids love their home-made lemonade - I love that it's fresh and not too sweet.

Betsy

Lovely honest helpful place for great espresso ..finally.. thank you. And a Beautiful clean neighborhood.

Smadar B

The coffee is damn good, and that goes for both the filtered stuff and specialty drinks such as their legendary maple lattes. The baked goods are always very good--their feta and black pepper scones are to die... The design is so cute and chic, and the staff is super friendly.

This is my favourite place on monkland to just chill and people watch on a lazy summer afternoon. Great coffee and pastries, only wish their cold brews were cheaper!

Tori Steeves

I love the coffee at MELK bar and the scones are amazing but a bit overpriced. Would go more often if there was more seating.

Barrington Case

I have this horrible problem where I can't seem to find a latte as good as the one offered at Melk. I go to many a cafes and always seem to compare back to Melk. Definitely worth a try if you're in the neighborhood. And if you're not, it's worth the commute. While there, ask for one of the many selections of sweet treats, I recommend either a doughnut (available on weekends only) or an Amaretti.

Vanessa Rose

Great people - love the service coffee and scones ???????? Thank you

Bibi Ali

Excellent artisan coffee. Renovated recently. Outdoor seating is camp bench style. Staff is always friendly.

Ahalya Balasubramaniam

Love their green tea latte but whenever I go, it's extremely crowded and loud. The place is really small and I can see why it's so popular. I just hope they open the outside sitting area soon. Will definitely go again!

Lu Yao

Wonderful coffee, food and staff, but really small space and non-functional internet. Always packed and can't sit comfortably, tiny tables...will recommend for take out only.

Sabrina Saint-Louis

Sunday afternoon, 3:30pm, a beautiful day. I am glad I picked Melk Café for that special moment with my daughter and our friend Mariam: she is relocating to the Continent with her family, and Melk's Lemon/Honey/Ginger tisane, with a sprinkle of Cinnamon, added the perfect final touch to a fond memory on Monkland Avenue. A dreamy cuppa, smooth, comforting, and in those days of social distancing, it truly felt like a warm Fall hug. #tryitsoon!

Lauren Casey

My favorite coffee shop by far! The lattes are amazing and I can't leave without getting a banana chocolate chunk muffin (or 2). Staff is always very friendly

Sharlene Thomas

Had the pleasure of stumbling on Melk earlier today because we were looking for a store that was previously located at that address. The wonderful aromas of coffee and baked goods facilitated our decision of getting something to drink/eat. The young lady who served us was so pleasant & her customer service skills were stellar. I really enjoyed my hot chocolate(topped with a homemade marshmallow) & Morning Glory muffin. I reside in Laval but will definitely make my way back to Monkland to this cozy café.

TB

Great 3rd wave coffee. Too small of a place though to allow people to linger and play on their laptops all day. I had to stand while drinking my coffee.

Steve Monolos

Solid muffins and scones. Solid coffee too.

Judith Landry

Favorite independent café in ndg. The staff is really nice and helpful and the place is warm on cold winter days. Plus the pastries are great!

Isagani Cura

Good and fast service...only not enough space to sit and enjoy your hot coffee.

ANA Ranna

The OG of local coffee houses. Still wonderful as ever!!! GOAT!!!

Lloyd Feldman

Great iced coffee and my dog loved their treats. Seriously (loved them).

Eric 999

Both their vanilla and maple lattes are very delicious. The baristas are also very friendly and helpful. You can buy whole beans as well to brew at home (or they can grind them for you). The beans are a bit on the pricey side but definitely worth a try if you're hunting for your perfect home brewed cup!

Rene Cormier

Great coffee! They now roast in Montreal and sell their own brand of organic beans, fresh and delicious! I highly recommend buying their coffee! Support local businesses!

Emelie Luciani

I had a weak tea. The coffee looked like it was good/legit with good latte art. It was hella busy (Wednesday at 2-330) so hard to have a meeting due to loudness and lack of tables. Once we secured a booth it was good!

Sandra Billard

Such a great place for a nice coffee or tisanes/tea. Omg the Perles du dragon recommended by the agent counter was exceptional. Nice staff, nice music, nice decoration!

J Walters

Great coffee. And it’s consistent. That’s sometimes a tough find with these third-wave cafes. They’ve got a nice fruity espresso with a wispy aftertaste; and the drip has a nice tang to it. Nice to work in too.

Ralph Jean-Baptiste

Coffee and treats are always great. Only downside is that the place is always crowded ( out of the owners control) and that there’s no wifi available.

Nathalie T

Best coffee I've had in a very long time

Charles Eydt

Friendly staff and a nice environment to either work or chat with a wonderful and great cup of coffee.

Daniel Poirier

Great coffee and skones. And the atmosphere is typical neighborhood coffee shop.

J Ma

As great as their downtown location. Pastries and coffee are consistently great. I think everything there is really good. Latte, filtered coffee is light and doesn't taste burnt, pastries are fresh...

Jason Bourne

A fantastic little gem in the heart of the Monkland Village in NDG. This place is all about the coffee...the coffee here is one of the best in Montreal. True Italian style coffees (espressos, lattés, cappuccinos) with a good selection of in-house baked goodies.

Anik Delage Leduc

This is the place I go when I want an amazing coffee... They also have amazing hot chocolate and matcha, as well as a nice selection of baked goodies (scones, cookies, even some are gluten free)

Julia Jones

I can’t believe I’ve lived in the area for 1.5 years and am only just discovering this. The latte and scone I had were amazing, the service was friendly and the ambiance was wonderful. I think this would be a great place to come and study too.

Robert Bowles

So if you're on monkland you got a choice in two blocks of Starbucks second cup and Melk. Don't even think about it go right to melk way better coffee nice service and price properly

Chris Hahn

No wifi, huge lines because the baristas are super slow and goof off. Coffee was alright though

Isabelle Giguere

Great local coffee shop. The chai latte is excellent. It's difficult to get a table to sit as it's very popular.

Dana Breger

The best coffee at a very good price. Super yummy baked goods as well

Martin Crook

Coffee shop or hub? Honestly what’s going on here... No space for paying customers due to over a dozen people drinking water and typing away on laptops. Turn off the WiFi, your sales will increase tenfold.

David Davies Morris

Great coffee, snacks and a good assortment of plant-based milks for your coffee.

Omer Idrees

One of the best latte joints in town. Even though, this is the first of the two locations (second one is on Stanley, centreville), I prefer the ambience at the downtown Melk. I would say, one cannot go wrong with anything on the menu. I've tried all the lattes, no disappointments. They bake everything in-house, so it tastes heavenly with a balanced sugar content. I'm not sure if their coffee is fair trade though.
