Went for the burger. Excellent! However, I'm giving the place 2 stars because I practically burnt my fingers off picking up the Burger. It was served on a searing hot skillet!! Not a bright idea. A warm plate would have worked just fine.

Finally after visiting PEI for many years i found a good breakfast place. It's unreal the amount of people I've asked for recommendations that think just because the menu price is a little lass expensive that it makes it a good place .. sorry i don't like deep fried hash browns, deep fried bacon and deep fried sausage for breakfast.. Casa Mia was fantastic, pan fried potatoes with a hint of maple syrup, tasty local sausage that is not 90% fat, thick sliced toast, baked beans were very tasty and their potato hash and potato cakes are super good, no more looking for a spot as I found it and will be be back every time i visit Charlottetown

1st visited their location in Victoria by the Sea a few days ago. The downtown location is a far cry from the 1st experience. Never seen a Caprese salad served with huge large tomato cut into 4 wedges with cheese (cubed)in the middle of the plate with julienned basil. The spaghetti bolognese was soupy and thin! Service was horrible, I actually had to get a beverage/wine menu myself. Highly recommend Victoria by the sea location - food & service were excellent and location is wonderful. Clear and obvious different approach at downtown location.

My first issue was the wait for the food, there were people who sat after us who got their food before we did. The eggs benedict was rather disappointing, each of my eggs were cooked to a different degree when I asked for soft poached. The hollandaise sauce was runny and broken. I ordered the 5$ fruit bowl because it said freah local fresh fruit but I received a suprisingly small mason jar with a few canned mandarin orange slices and the rest was all cantalope and melon; I am pretty sure this is the season for strawberries and the like. It took an hour and twenty minutes since I entered the front door before I finally ate with the only redeeming qualities being the hashbrowns though they were not hot and the friendly staff. They also messed up my friends order and only got half of what he asked for. I do not feel that I got what I paid for.

Service is good, but I find the staff doesn't check up on the table enough to see if drinks need to be refilled (pretty small complaint, and I know they're busy). Recieved a quick greeting/seating process when I arrived. However the staff didnt seem knowledgable about their own menu, which made it a challenge to order. Recieved my meal and my side of bread was already soaking wet from my meals sauce I ordered the seafood chowder, so that was disappointing. My mom ordered the lobster roll and when her plate arrived half of her lobster was on the plate not on the bun and there was more different colored lettuce than lobster. All in all a disappointment. Great place for breakfast, my lunch experience was quite. I wasn't even thanked for my purchase when leaving. 2 thumbs down :(

The food was good but portions were small, though filling. We ordered a $14 salad which was tiny for the price and did not make up for it in quality. The leaves were soggy and looked like they had been sitting for a while already dressed. Thankfully the staff was very kind and brought us another plate. Overall, the service experience was great!

Casa Mia is my favorite go-to restaurant! Perfect for a brunch with friends, dinner with your mom, or supper with the hubs - Casa Mia has something for everyone! The brunch menu is delicious and I love their house fries! The sandwiches and salads are my second favorite - add a specialty coffee to the house and it's perfection! Their desserts are also fantastic! My only comment is how weak their normal drip coffee tastes. Not my favorite. But if you ask for an Americano, you'll be in for a delicious treat!!

The rating would have been another star based on the food alone, but the service was sub-par. Ordered coffee and water. Brought coffee only. Asked for water 3 times from 2 different people. Asked for hot sauce when meal delivered. Observed that NONE of the wait staff are looking up to see if customers need anything. Finally got water, coffee refill and hot sauce after hubby had finished his meal. The location of this restaurant brings people in. Improving wait staff would keep them coming back.

Restaurant was not busy and service was poor! We started off asking with coffee and tea! My husband asked for a dark roast and was given regular coffee, I ask for green tea and was served mint, that wasn't so bad easy mistake there both green! I order oatmeal after confirming it wasn't instant! I was severed quick oats with a few chopped apples on top, no cinnamon, brown sugar, just a jar of white sugar on the table! I asked for maple syrup and was offer pancake syrup as the server said I would be charged for maple, I said that was fine charge me for it, I was still given pancake syrup and charged for maple! I am a pastry chef so I can assure it was not maple syrup! We where never brought a bill and again the restaurant was not busy! The could also step up cleaning in the bathroom. I have had great sandwiches here but I have also had one to many bad meals here! Unfortunately we are done eating at Casa Mia cafe as it is too hit or miss!

Eggs Benedict is one of my favorites. Did review search and was directed to Casa Mia. After finally getting seated and order taken (40 min plus). Hollandaise sauce was thin and tasteless, eggs tasted like vinegar. Spinach not a good idea - nearly choked. Hash browns were sweet? Took so long to get the bill that I calculated it beforehand as I watched waitress wipe several empty tables AFTER we asked for bill. I have had wonderful meals here. Last 2 visits not so much. Won't be in a hurry to come back

Prices here are better than most restaurants, some decent Italian fare. Fish and chips are overbreaded, linguini de mare and pollo parmigiana are good. Service a little slow but many seats, likely you will not be waiting for a table.

Staff refilled water once, waiting 10+ minutes for a refill. Server who took our order ignored the table for a while and another server had to step in. 5 staff appeared to be working at the time. I would eat here again for the food quality but please attend to guests who are in your restaurant.

Belgian waffles were overly dry. The sausage served with the waffles tasted more like a hotdog than a breakfast sausage. Waitress never offered water refills amd only offered a coffee refill after my meal was complete. The bean salad was unrecognizable. It was covered with a nasty sauce. The lady beside us, who arrived after us, was served first. We are used to bad service here, but this subpar meal was our last at Casa Mia.

Having only been the once, this was my first experience. I went for breakfast and ordered the plate with the sausage and bacon. I found the eggs kind of cold, the hash browns cold and the toast bone dry. The bacon was good but the sausage tasted more like a hot dog than a breakfast sausage. I had a terrible experience. A few girlfriends and I went there for brunch one Saturday morning. We had to ask for water three times before our server finally brought it. My meal arrived JUST warm enough to eat so of course it was cold by the time I was halfway through. One of my friends had a hair in her meal when it arrived. She ordered the simple big breakfast which had breakfast meat and eggs. She was told a new meal would be brought in 5 minutes and it took more than 20. I will never be back.

After having a really bad exerience at this resteraunt a few years ago, we finally were ready to give then another chance. Sadly our experience will have us not returning. We arrived early to beat the lunch crowd and were hopeful that we could served well within the hour and 10 minutes that we had availale. This was not the case. When we inquired about our meals almost an hour after arriving, the servers indicated that our meal was being plated - but 5 minutes still no food and now no time to eat it. Having worked in the service industry, when the others got up to walk away, I asked for my meal to go- the cashier confirmed the menu item and then gave me the wrong meal and . The other thing that really turned us off was when the waitress poured water into my glass and then proceeded to dump it back into the jug to repour then follows up with pouring the mixed water into another persons glass. Note there were no apologies for the poor service, no offers for the meals at no cost...nothing.

Would not recommend this restaurant to anyone. It was a horrible experience from start to finish. We had a reservation for the patio, showed up, no seats available on the patio. Our reservation wasn’t taken properly. Sat inside, which we were fine with. The place was basically empty but it took over an hour for us to get our food. We were not asked if we wanted any water, we had to flag down the hostess (which was the only positive experience, she was great). The waitress was no where to be found until our food came. Our food came and was mediocre, cold and bland. Once we got our food, we were constantly asked if it was “delicious” - which it wasn’t. No apology for our wait times, no nothing. Most of the wait staff were too busy talking behind the counter to pay any attention to the customers. Will not be returning.

This little spot was very delicious for lunch. Although the waitress mixed up some of our meals it was all tasty mixups. The restaurant only has one bathroom located close to the back of the restaurant which seemed odd for a restaurant this size. The brunch and dinner menus looked just as appetizing as lunch. Went during the afternoon while the restaurant was relatively quiet. My table was dirty and had to be cleaned after I sat. Waited over a half hour after being seated and my order was never taken. I was on a lunch break so I had to leave and buy faster food elsewhere to eat.

Casa Mia Cafe is a nice restaurant in downtown Charlottetown. It is a bit on the pricey side but the food is good. The service is good and quick enough. They have nice outdoor seating during the summer where you can enjoy the beautiful Queen street. Overall, a good restaurant with a good variety of food and drinks!

Casa Mia Café is a landmark, touchstone Italian-style bistro on PEI with American trappings - the quality level from the kitchen is outstanding, and there's some authentic italian food that compares favourably to New York and even Italian restaurants for authenticity. The gnocchi (with PEI potatoes!) and tiramisu are gold standards. The name also fits - there's a full espresso machine alongside excellent desserts, and during daytime and weeknights there's usually a small student group against the wall that makes good use of both. Call ahead since there's a chance they're booked. Pandemic response has been 100%. Excellent for casual business meetings or groups of friends. Outdoor patio will be phenomenal if they ever shut down the street for tourism, otherwise traffic gets a bit much or outdoor smokers.

Do not eat breakfast here unless you like cold, tasteless food with zero service. We went on a Tuesday morning. They were highly understaffed. The servers were very stressed out running all over the place. We ordered iced lattes to start. 10 minutes later they show up half spilled on the table because the server was rushing around. Next we ordered our breakfast which came our decently quick. The Casa Mia Melt was a huge disappointment. The fried egg was so hard it had zero yolk, it was soggy and so saucy. The sauce tasted like a tasteless bechamel sauce. Barely got through the breakfast. The hash browns were okay, but way too full of caramelized onions you only got the sweet onion flavour. My friend had the eggs benny which was on a soggy tasteless banquette. With raw spinach and three hard disshoveled yolks.. not recommended

It was a busy time period when we went but just to place our order took over 30 minutes because the waitress kept on leaving. We asked what the Soup of the day was and it took her over 15 minutes to come back and she still didn't know what the soup was. It was over an hour by the time we got our food. Honestly we should have left. Fortunately the food was good, but it didn't really make up for the poor service. I probably wouldn't go back because of the service.

I got to say that I completely agree with the negative reviews. So waitress saw us but did not greet us. So much for the 5 minute rule where you great guests as soon as you see them. Sure you’re busy (place was not busy) but acknowledge the customer. We ordered coffee, didn’t ask if we wanted creams. No refills. We were just seated and forgotten. There were 3-4 flies and I truly find this disgusting. The cake was presented well. Tasted ok, nothing special. I probably wasn’t too impressed as I was busy shooing flies away and how disappointed I was with the service.

The food was good and came quite quickly once it was ordered. But the wait to have our server come to take the order as well as the initial wait at the hostess kiosk just to be seated almost made us leave. The server gave us some smiles but it certainly didn't seem like she was concerned in any way about just keeping us waiting. Even after we were done, i had to ask another server to give us the bill. Sitting in the street patio downtown Charlottetown was at least a little distraction watching people and old cars go by. Don't think we'll be going back any time soon though.

It's difficult to review this place.. The ingredients are of great quality but their preparation isn't. The service is great but their value isn't. The location is great but their dining atmosphere isn't. So many thing about this place is great but there's so many things that counterbalance it back to bad. It's not a mystery that the place is never full and always seems like the patrons are avoiding other locations. It's such a juxtaposition of awkward atmosphere and food prep. It's almost as if every aspect of this place is in conflict with itself. They can't seem to get anything right..

Fantastic breakfast. We came on a weekday morning. Staff were friendly, and the food was delicious. I got the French toast stuffed with cream cheese inside and fried banana slices on top. It also came with a huge island sausage. Unreal. So good. My boyfriend had the traditional breakfast and said that it was great as well. Prices were very reasonable.

One star because the tea and yogurt were decent. Everything else was awful. Very slow service, charged for food that wasn’t delivered and they refused to refund the tax portion for food not served which is totally wrong. The food itself was horrible. Both side effects dish potato hash was undercooked/hard and the side dish tomatoes were overripe/mush. With all the great restaurants in the area, go somewhere else.

We did not have a great experience. Food was good. Service was good. Our wine was served to us with fruit flies afloat. Which was totally expected, as we were constantly waving fruit flies away from our table. Then my wife was served a dish of Chicken Alfredo with a long hair. Yet we still ordered some dessert to go. Only to open it up and release the fruit flies that had hitched a ride upon our dessert. The server did not charge us for the glass of wine or the Alfredo. She did feel bad. But not nearly as discussed as we were.

My mother and I went there to have lunch today. I was extremely disappointed. We waited over 50 minutes for our food. I felt completely neglected. My mother said she felt similar. I was on a 1 hr lunch break from work. there were 4 tables of two, and two walk ins ordering and picking up take out getting their food before we did. Even asking for a top up on coffee seemed like a huge deal to our server. One of the worst lunch experiences i have ever had. To boot, roasted veggie salad was awful. Way to much balsamic and dribble of goat cheese. I do not recommend this restaurant for lunch.

I dont know about dinner, but breakfast was horrible. We were a group of 3 and we all had bad meals. The first item on their menu is a house special hash. Lets make one thing clear, its not a hash. Its just a plain 2 eggs, potatoes, and sausage meal. The waitress didnt even ask how to make the eggs. Service was another thing, lets stick with the food. Ok, the basics to breakfast are potatoes and toast, 2 things they cannot do. First the toast, it was cold and hard. It takes about 2 minutes (MAX) to make toast, so there's no excuse for stale toast PERIOD. Now lets discuss the potatoes. Ignore the fact that they are mislabeled as a hash, these potatoes are gross. The basics to serving potatoes... Cook the potatoes. Before we even get into the flavour the first thing you notice about these potatoes is they arent cooked. The first batch of potaotes we received were raw. I mentioned the "undoneness" of the potatoes to the waitress and she brought a new batch to the table. Now its important to note that the waitress did not take my raw potatoes to be re-heated, she left them on the table. I actually have no problem with her doing that because those potatoes were a good 5 minutes away from being edible. So we get the new potatoes and they were better than the first batch (only in cookness), but they were inconsistent. Some were "ok" (barely cooked) and others were still undercooked. This is just 1 thing wrong with these potatoes. I've vaguely referenced the poor taste of these potatoes. Now the texture of these potaoes are way off. Usually for a breakfast potatoe you want a nice sear on them for a little crunch. These potatoes were sweet and grainy. They looked like they were blanched in some kind of maple sugar sauce it also had caramelized onions which made them even sweeter. A sweeter potatoe wouldn't be bad if they had atleast seasonsed or counter balanced the sweetness. Im not against creativity in the kitchen, but a candied potatoe for breakfast is gross. The omlettes weren't very good, tasteless and dry as hell. I wouldn't be surprised if they were using liquid eggs out of carton instead of actual eggs. The service was subpar but not horrendous. Obviously the bulk of our negative experince was with the food, so not the waitress' fault. The only gripe with service was the inaccessibility. We wanted another round of coffee and she never came. When we finally got a hold of her for more coffee, it never came. I guess that worked out in our favour, there was a pretty damn good coffee shop just at the corner called "Receiver".

I have only been here twice and both times were this week. My first time was an okay experience. I found my waitress judgemental but the atmosphere was nice and the food was good. The next day was not so nice. I took my 10 month old with me, our waitress was amazing, but the rest was not. We waited 15 minutes to order, 35 for our food to come, and when it did come I was extremely dissatisfied and disappointed. It was not worth the wait or the amount I paid.

I'm really unpleased with this place. I'm really understanding of the work they have to do. I've been in their shoes long enough. But in my values, costumers services come first. When i came in, it looks like everyone was avoiding me and my boyfriend, even who I think was the manager. We went there during lunchtime and ordered breakfast. My wife ordered hash with eggs, bacon and potatoes with onions. and I ordered.Two eggs bacon, potatoes with onions and eggs over medium. My wife did not get hash but was charged for it and no onions with the potatoes. I did not get onions with my potatoes. It was a good meal but it was not what we ordered. I’m sorry but I think the cook was probably on something as I worked in criminal justice system. It is how I think. I’m sorry. The wattress was very professional.

The food was excellent! I had the banana french toast and it was Absolutely Divine. It comes with perfectly crisp bacon, fried bananas on top, and a side of whipped cream and maple syrup (I had no need for the maple syrup, the bananas paired with a maple cream cheese filling was plenty sweet enough) 5/5 absolutley plan on going back for lunch or dinner.

Went for brunch after seeing positive reviews. Hash is not hash, but pan fried under cooked potatoes in what I suspect is pancake syrup not maple syrup. I believe al dente speaks to pasta, but to these folks it also transfers to potatoes, raw is what we experienced. Sausage, a wiener with a bit of herb, not very good at all, need to change the name on the menu to grilled wiener. Over cooked, not a tough one for an experienced cook, over easy was over done. Coffee, good. Toast, 2 selections, white, wholewheat, no rye or other. Overall, this 1 star rating represents our experience, advice; I suggest the owners take a little out of the high cost and work on quality of food and service.

Went here for lunch today with my daughter who was on a lunch break. The service was terrible. Waited 45 min for a wrap and salad. No refills for coffee or water. The meal itself was just fair. The house salad was lettuce and tomatoes only with way too much oil dressing. Guess we won't be back here. We had 2 waitresses and neither one knew what the soup of the day was. My 30.00 some dollars could have been better spent somewhere else.

Worst breakfast I have ever had last Sunday... Waited over and hour for overdone eggs benedict with hardpoached yolks, runny hollandaise that was barely even there, and a hard flat rock of a baguette. The whole thing was dry and barely warm. I would have loved to send it back but honestly we had waited OVER AN HOUR. This is the second time I have been disappointed by their breakfasts recently and truthfully breakfast is not that difficult to pull off. Nothing like paying $20 for inedible garbage...

Great food…painfully slow service! We showed up around 11:30am and sat outside on the patio under the shade of an umbrella to watch the world go by outside. I’m not sure the reasoning for the delays but even after asking twice about our food it was still over an hour from being seated to finally getting our food. When our food finally did arrive It was very good however we did have to remind our server of the extra order of bacon we asked for and aswell the side dish of beans that was supposed to come with our order. All in all yes, for the quality of the food we received it is definitly worth checking out and hopefully the lengthy delays were just that particular day.
