What a fabulous cafe!! Great selection of drinks and light meals. We had a cold brewed London fog and the pasta pesto salad with chicken and it was to die for. I live in Pickering and will be making the journey back because the food and service was so good!!

2020.09.18. Started our journey with a walk to "Pilot Coffee Roasters" at First Canadian Place. Great coffee and tastes very good. I had a hot Americano. My regular. It is becoming our stop before picking up our car rental. 2020.09.04. Started the birthday special day with a coffee at "Pilot Coffee" at TD centre. Great coffee. I had my regular hot Americano. A scone to go. Definitely a must visit place.

A bit noisy, but that's the only complaint. I guess that's what you get for going to a place that roasts their own beans and often has live music! They specialize in made to order pour over coffee, also he other desserts and drinks. Boardgames sit all over inviting you to play.

Cool atmosphere. Great beverage options. I like their Americano. Plenty of seating. Point to note. The parking lot offers 2 hours of free parking but you have to get a voucher. If you do not get a voucher and the parking enforcement comes along they will ticket your car.

Very friendly staff, great value for pricing and some of the best coffee I have had. We had a coffee and an espresso. The line up was long when we got in, but the staff was able to help everyone in a timely fashion. I believe the owners were at the door greeting people. The atmosphere was great and the tables and space were enough to accommodate a decent amount of people. It is centrally located and had a great menu to choose from. I would recommend and would go again.

Top notch espresso…. Commitment to the craft from the barista to the beans to the equipment. They had multiple Malhkonig Peak grinders, and even a Weber EG-1 for specialty roasts. Espresso machine is a Synesso and brings out the best in their beans. Highly recommend

Great place and awesome atmosphere, theu played 80's music which is amazing and rare to find these days in modern coffee shops such as starbucks. What did it for me though was that they have video game tournaments such as goldeneye tournaments for N64, while I've never been to one of these tournaments at all i noticed and found out about these tournaments on their bulletin board near the front door upon entering the place. All i have to say is keep doing what your doing Monigram and don't stop. This is what divides places like Monigram from Tim Hortons and Starbucks, because none of them play good music nor do they host video game tournaments! If your ever in the downtown core of Cambridge i would highly recommend that you check out Monigram! Perfect 5 out of 5! ????????

Wow... simply wow. You can tell when someone is passionate with what they do and believes in it. Graham is such a person. Went there for the 1st time today and he took me through the equipment he uses and elevated coffee into what it should be.. an experience... not treating a client like a number. If you care about coffee, you should go to Monigram's. Super knowledgeable, tons of options, and why not enjoy the local artwork or play a board game while enjoying you coffee? They also have some great food options as well from treats with your coffee, to breakfast and lunch options. But best of all, it just feels like a cool place. From the logo outside, to the wood beams that run along the restaurant, you just feel like you're at a special place. Try the pour-over with Graham explaining why the coffee tastes better with this method, definitely a treat!

It’s a pretty decent spot to stop by on the path for a coffee break. I really liked the diversity of their food offerings. They have grab and go options like hard boiled eggs, parfaits, cold brews, etc. Their baked goods are also pretty good and they have a pretty good selection. If you prefer a milder taste to your coffee, you will probably enjoy the coffee that they offer. I would rate the coffee 5 or 6/10. It wasn’t the best coffee I’ve had but the drink was pretty well made, the roast just didn’t have a very full flavour or any other flavour profile going on. It was a slight step up from drip coffee in my opinion.

Food is expensive chips as a side is nothing but a let down. Coffee is good but the competition has increased while I feel like they’ve stayed the same. Not a 5 star cafe but you won’t leave feeling disappointed

Monigram has been a community hub since they opened and the go-to coffee shop to visit in the area. Delicious food (especially the breakfast cookies), friendly staff, fast wifi, and though they roast the coffee on site they do so in a separate area so it’s quiet for meetings. And while I don’t drink coffee, they also do a great steeped tea :)

This is a truly unique one-of-a-kind experience coffee shop. There are board games and decks of cards at the table so you can hang out and have a good time. The decor in there is out of this world. And the staff are super friendly.

Vegan options, okay ambiance, not cozy. Just a bit too noisy for a meeting. Food was good, coffee too. Icing on the cake: Doctor Who Police Box entrance to washrooms. The fresh flowers were wilted and the interesting coffee cup basin in the washroom was sadly all covered with calcium which h would be easily solved with some vinegar. Otherwise 4.5 stars, now only 4. Still recommended, as it is an interesting place and close to bus terminal and downtown Cambridge.

Great cafe for coffee, brunch, and baked goods. My friend and I went there for brunch and I got their spicy mango chutney sandwich with chicken and it amazing! I also got a cappuccino and my friend got their coffee and TBC sandwich. The coffee was really good - a bit pricey but worth it! They also sell their house made mango chutney, jams, and coffee makers (french press, pourover, drip, mugs, etc. - all really cute!). Would definitely recommend for coffee lovers out there!

Sorry but i happen to like dark roast coffee. When i ask for it and you condescendingly tell me that the worst beans can be dark roasted to taste great and YOUR beans are too good to be roasted darkly and hand me a medium roast you are just being arrogant and rude. Yes, this is your establishment and yes, you absolutely have the right to serve only what you want to serve, you do not need to be a jerk about it. I will happily go elsewhere. P.S. Your medium roast coffee tasted like burnt water.

Amazing place with lots of seating. Since it was so nice out, we sat in super comfortable Muskoka chairs. Great atmosphere to watch the day go by. The service and staff were exceptional. When we HAD to go back to get another delicious muffin, it was heated and delivered to our table before I got through the line to pay. If this was closer it would be a regular weekend thing.

Went with a friend for the first time yesterday. Staff was wonderful! Friendly, knowledgable, professional and sweet...great start! Was already buzzing and was so happy to be offered a decaf cappacino which was delicious, as was the made in-house chocolate coconut donut...a cozy and perfect spot to catch up and chat. Too bad I neglected to notice that parking in the lot was paid! $25 ticket didn't ruin the experience though.

Tried this place for the first time and personally it was sort of a let down. The portions are really small in terms of value, and my cappuccino was like having two espresso shots. And to serve chips alongside a BLT for breakfast was eye opening to say the least. You guys need to do better!

Monigram offers visually pleasing and great tasting hot beverages. Prices are obviously higher than Tim Horton's, but you get what you pay for. I haven't tried their food, but they smell and look good and the saying, "you eat with your eyes" is true. The baristas were super friendly and there were no issues with service. My visit was around 3pm. I tested the WiFi, which was around 5mbps. Unfortunately, my browsing experience was incredibly slow and my friend (who sat across from me) said it was slow for him as well. We left due to slow WiFi.

Wow - what an amazing place! A good amount of seating outside when we walked up, and once we got inside there looked to be TONS of space to sit and lounge away the day. Having never been before, the staff effortlessly helped us out with food and drink selection. Exceptional, friendly service! The coffees were great, but the muffins were to die for. Initially ordered a chocolate walnut donut and cinnamon pecan muffin. The muffin was heated up and served with butter, and brought right to our table outside by the most delightful man. After tasting that muffin, I knew we had to try the chocolate chip one...so I sent the hubby inside to get it. Before he could even pay, that same delightful man came out with the warm muffin. He ensured we were enjoying everything and wished us a good day. I said it several times during our visit - if we lived in the KW region, we'd be back here every Saturday. Highly, highly recommend this wonderful place. (As I'm writing this, that delightful man came out and briefly chatted with us - it appears that he's the owner! He's doing food, coffee and customer service right)!

The owners and staff are always welcoming to their customers. Their coffeehouse has more than great beans we love to lunch and snacks to go with your cup of coffee A city parking lot adjacent to the restaurant provides 2 hour free parking which is so convenient. Make sure you take home a bag of their fresh roasted beans that meet your taste buds.

This is the best place in the downtown core to get cold brew coffee on tap. If you go around the lunch hour, there is generally not a large lineup (unlike the Union Station location!). There is also a large selection of both whole coffee beans as well as coffee paraphernalia.

Best roasters in Waterloo Region, hands-down. Other local roasters are good, but Monigram is great. You can tell this place is run by people who are passionate about coffee. Besides offering a wide selection of roasts, they also sell in larger quantities as well as in zero-waste containers via their coffee club, big thumbs up. The Ainsle Street location is well stocked with Hario and Chemex drippers, Baratza grinders, and other caffeine necessities at excellent prices. Plus you can order online, with free local delivery, during the COVID-19 shutdown. You just can't go wrong with Monigram ????

I got the Sliced Pork Sandwich with arugula and caramelized apples, which came with a side of house made chips. Accompanying it was their signature Americano, black. Firstly, if you're on a budget, this place isn't for you, so be forewarned. My total for this was $17.23. Sandwich was $12; Coffee was $3.30. However, I found the staff to be pleasant, knowledgeable and efficient. After ordering, I sat at a table where they found me and brought my food items. Everything was delicious! The sandwich was thick and juicy, yet not soggy. The coffee was bold and clean, minimal grains at the bottom. I would recommend this place if you're passing through Cambridge, meeting someone for coffee or looking for local eats. Lastly, the atmosphere wasn't too shabby. Very local coffee feel, yet clean and unique, with interesting, local art pieces.

Hi Guys, I am a former employee of Monigram (the midtown location) but I would just like to share with all the customers that the employees at Monigram do NOT receive tips/gratuities. I worked there for 8 months and never once received the debit/credit tips. I filed a claim with the MOL and the verdict was that they were to pay my debit/credit tips. They had 30 days to pay me and it has now been 5 months since the verdict was reached, and I have yet to receive any of my tips. I know we are in tough times at the moment but this did occur before then, and I just thought the community would like to be informed.

So many 5 star ratings, Monigram doesn’t really need another, but thought I’d mention a couple other things great about this place. I regularly buy bags of their ‘madcat’ roasted espresso beans, have the staff grind them for a French press - just as tasty at home as it is in the resto. Also, when you buy a bag of beans, you’ll be offered a coffee drink on the house, a good deal. In summer there are great weeknight concerts featuring local musicians on the patio out front, just watch the shop’s Facebook page.

Cappuccino was very milky (made with non-organic milk). The place didn’t have air conditioning and I visited on a hot day. If you like a lot of milk in your cappuccino and like them weak, you may like it. I like mine strong (but not bitter) and this just did not taste like it had any coffee in it.

Absolutely love this place! I always go to Monigrams for lunch and it has great food. My work place also buy coffee bags for the office from monigrams. Great atmosphere and friendly service and my order is always made right. I also walk with a cane so it's hard to get up and down the stairs to get into monigrams but the employees always help me by opening the door and help me any way they can. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for a new coffee shop.Love! Love! Love!

Monigram Coffee was started as a family business and continues to run as a family business. They have a wonderful menu for coffee, treats and light fare food. You have to go for the experience. Its very friendly and eclectic.

Monigram is one of the best coffee, if not the best, you can get in the Kitchener-Waterloo-Cambridge, tri-City area. They also offer an interesting selection of espresso drinks such as Misto Rubato (apparently this is one of the owners' invention, mix of espresso, cream and water), Cortado, Americano, Cappuccino, Flat White and more. Unfortunately for tea lovers, their selection is quite limited. They have a standard set of Earl Grey, Black, Orange Pekoe, Green and Herbal kinds but nothing fancy or special. As for something to munch on, they have an assortment of baked goods such as croissants, and they also sell salad, sandwiches and soup. The name Monigram comes from combining the owners' first names, Moni + Gram. They have also been featured on an issue of Toronto Life magazine. There is free wifi, which can be spotty at times, and there is a plenty of parking spaces available in the adjacent municipal parking lot.

They also have monthly live music in a space upstairs above the cafe. It's a loft-style feel w hardwood floors, open concept, w bathroom in the back. Very nice sounding room. Great for a more intimate house-concert vibe. Highly recommend it.

Knowledgeable and friendly staff that go out of their way to answer any questions you may have. Coming from the background of pre-ground, bitter, grocery store coffee, my life has changed for the better thanks to Pilot and their helpful staff. I came in knowing nothing about coffee, aside from that I liked the boldness of dark coffees (or so I thought), and they promptly showed me numerous freshly roasted beans for my choosing. Who knew that coffee could have varying flavours such as pomegranate, lime or graham cracker!? They also offer to grind any beans you choose to purchase (great if you don’t own a grinder). They helped walk me through brewing methods, as well as different types of coffee (single origin, blends etc) and what to expect with each one. I will definitely be a returning customer, and I am excited to try their different roasts of beans which come from small scale farms all over the world. If you are an experienced coffee connoisseur, or a complete beginner like I was, check out a Pilot shop near you (there are tons!), I promise you won’t regret it.

Finally had the opportunity to make it to Monigram. Fantastic experience. The staff are very knowledgeable, patient and kind. We asked them a whole bunch of questions regarding their cold brew process. Shared all the details and recommended beans for us. I had a cappuccino and my boyfriend had an espresso. We shared the breakfast cookie which was fantastic. It's not a sweet cookie at all and is served with some fruit slices and a little cup of vanilla yogurt. Lovely atmosphere. Beautiful place. The only thing I enjoyed about my visit to Monigram was seeing what the owner had done with the old building. Service was terrible... The table was dirty, we had to wait for the server at order counter to be finished with other customers, before It was cleaned. Waited over 5 mins. for a specialty coffee to be made.. we ordered 2 bagels with cream cheese. Half the bagle had a dollop of cream cheese, the other half had nothing.. Will I go back... NO Will I recommend Monigrams to anyone.. NO I worked in customer service my entire life.. what Ive seen here was a very poor display of what is now considered customer service.. Management need to take a good hard look at the definition of Custoer Sevice, because you're not getting it at Monigrams!

It's going to be a nice size after the renovations are finished. Right now there's not a lot of room, the table I sat at was not clean and nobody seemed to be doing that. The staff was friendly and brought my coffee quickly at least. However the coffee was small and expensive for the quality. This place has a VERY hipster vibe, which I'm not opposed to normally, but in this case the whole experience felt very cold and commercial at the same time. I won't be back.

Amazing first experience at Monigram coffee roasters! The staff was incredibly nice. The coffee shop as a whole has a very nice atmosphere and it's a pleasure to sit down to eat and drink inside. Also one of the owners approached me and my sister at my table and engaged in conversation with us which was very nice, I've never had that happen to me at a coffee shop but it was more than welcomed. It shows how much the owners truly care about their customers! 5 star coffee shop, will definitely be going again soon.

This is a high-end cafe that is wonderfully aesthetic with a rustic building, tasteful decor and furnishings, and a slightly pricey but tasty menu. They use dishware for guests dining in, and you can sit and watch baristas bustle around the open concept kitchen. The room design makes conversation seem quite and private despite being quite close to the table next to you. The staff are happy and friendly, definitely a great spot.

Came here on a Sunday afternoon to study. There were lots of seats available, the internet connection was pretty good, and the ambiance was nice. Unfortunately, there didn't seem to be any air conditioning and it was quite hot - uncomfortably so - where I was sitting inside. I also thought the prices were quite expensive. I paid $7.35 for an iced vanilla latte - for this price I expected it to be the best latte I've ever tasted - and although it was pretty good, it was not worth the price. Later on I ordered a chicken caesar wrap which came with a side of kettle chips and was very tasty, however, also expensive at $14.69. Additionally, when I got to the bottom of my plate that the wrap was on, I noticed there was a hair, which is always a bit disappointing, but I felt it was too late to do anything about it at that point since I had already eaten 98% of my food by the time I saw it. I'm not sure if I would come back here, simply because of the price.

I went there to have coffee and muffins. Their choice of muffins is very limited and not healthy. I ended up with their breakfast bar,as this left me with the only choice. Monigram is an excellent place to meet friends for coffee and a chat. The walls are decorated with modern art, old black & white photographs, and drawings. In conclusion, I would definitely recommend Monigram to others, especially if you're looking for somewhere to have a coffee/tea and a discussion with friends.

The home of my favourite Americano and a breakfast cookie that is always a delight. The baristas/staff are always hospitable and friendly too. I visit other coffee shops in the region fairly often and nothing touches Monigrams service, the staff actually enjoy their job and take care in doing it well. Wi-Fi is pretty good, USB outlets are a nice touch and there's enough space you can make it your office for a few hours without feeling like you're taking up valuable space. Decor is casual, classy, comfortable and not cheap.

Picked up a bag MadCat espresso beans today and had an amazing experience. The staff was extremely kind and knowledgeable and took their time to explain the beans and characteristics. Monica was a delight to speak with and it is clear she is very passionate about coffee. Madison, the barista, pulled an amazing shot of the MadCat for me to sample. Very smooth, great depth and flavour. Can't wait to pull a shot of this at home.

The only place I would recommend to others with confidence to get coffee. Staff is very knowledgeable, approachable and helpful. The bean roasts and sourcing are superb to say the least. If you are new to brewing, definitely ask for some advice on what to pick in terms of flavours. The baristas also have their shots dialed in to perfection so it doesn't hurt to ask either. They are always experimenting with espresso blends. Nothing bad to say about this place, it's a true gem on the tri-city area!

One of my favorite coffee places in the Tri-City area. With an authentic look with bright blue coffee roaster in the middle of the shop and wood decorum, there is lots of seatings to catch up with friends or sit down to study. They offer a variety of items from coffee/tea, slow bar, food, and pastries. Baristas were helpful in purchasing coffee merchandises and products, with helpful taste note description. But most importantly, they know their coffee and it tastes great. (2 hour parking offered in plaza and plenty of street parking)

I liked the atmosphere but I and several of my co-workers cant get past the prices. I have lived in Montreal Vancouver and Toronto and never paid as much for a green tea as I have at Monograms. $3:30 for a green tea and no refills of hot water. More than a dollar more than anywhere else I have ever had a tea including the airport. And it's not that great of a tea. I would go here more often if it was reasonably priced but there are several other places to frequent in the area so.....I was looking forward to the new library cafe until I heard it was monograms that have the contract. Unfortunate that greed trumps all.

This is one of my favourite coffee places in Southern Ontario. The place is situated in a little square with other restaurants and small businesses in south Cambridge. All of the coffee they serve is roasted in-house. They have a variety of coffee drink creations such as the Misto Robusta which is essentially a very short americano with some cream added to it. Delicious. I have been there twice and the second time we decided to get some of their sandwiches for lunch. These are all made in-house as well and are very enjoyable. They have a variety of about 10 different sandwiches. They also serve various baked goods for something lighter.

The owners are super nice and hospitable, they also source all their coffee in South America by visiting plantations and then roast their beans on site. Nice to support local, no more expensive than a certain coffee chain that shall remain nameless . Lots of different preparation methods for their coffee. They also serve food and merchandise. Worth visiting if in Cambridge, grab a coffee and go for a walk by the river.

My first visit was on New Year's eve. I had checked the Monigram website earlier to see that closing time was 8PM. I arrived at 4:10pm to meet a friend I hadn't seen in almost 2 years who was coming to meet me from Kitchener, and was told the place closed at 4 for the holiday. I was invited to stay and have coffee to wait for my friend to arrive, and was also offered a second cup for my friend before they emptied the canister for the final cleanup. After my friend arrived, Graham told us to take our time and enjoy our visit while he worked in the back roasting coffee. A wonderful environment, and - obviously - fabulous service :D

Really good coffee joint that just needs a little more attention. As for their coffee items, this place is certainly one of the best in the region. However I couldn't give a perfect score, as on our first (maybe even last) visit, we found the place dirty and messy. Our group (there were four of us meeting to exchange some Christmas presents and to catch up a bit) slid 2 tables together so that we could all be able to have a quiet conversation. Both tables were sticky and had food remnants on them, as well as there potato chips (ketchup flavor as the crumbs were red) on two of our chairs. There was also a large chunk of cardboard under one of our tables. Playing amateur detectives, we all wondered how/why someone was consuming chips here, and why they made such a mess. While enjoying (and I must state here, that everything tasted great) our beverages and baked items, we noticed 5 employees behind the counter. It shouldn't be such a big deal, for one of them to occasionally stroll through the tables, take note of any messes, and then quickly wipe down tables/chairs, and clean anything left behind from other patrons. After all, that is what is expected at other food/beverage establishments. We have made plans to return in the New Year, and we'll decide then if there were improvements made in terms of making the place more appealing. Small changes go a long way, guys.

This place is well supported by its locals as it was pretty packed when I was there. I was visiting Galt and this was the best I could find and it did not disappoint. Friendly staff, I believed the owner or manager greeted us when we walked in. Great options for brunch, and our food was delivered to our table as well. Both coffee and our food tasted great! Overall, pleasant experience. Will be coming back when visiting Galt.

Amazing house blend coffee, they even grinded up my coffee beans when I bought some to take home. Fabulous customer service, very cheery staff and seem quite down to earth. Modern yet very comfortable atmosphere. The only reason I didn't give a 5 star rating is their cappucinos. They are extremely small and over priced, the barista even said they were small so I decided to go with a regular coffee and was quite satisfied. Not what I went for but I was still pretty happy. The cherry cheese danishes are what any typical Danish would taste like (which were good) and the morning cookie was different but good as well. I will definetly be returning to Monigram Coffee Roaster.

Went for a meeting where we booked the upstairs room. Great idea. Nice spot up there to meet people and get work done. Hopefully the owners support the local homeless shelter and a possible SIS in the area, as I'm finding so many (too many) business owners in Cambridge are elitist and quick to hate the 'other' and have recently created a huge divide in the area. I'm all about inclusion and I don't support business that don't share my ethics. At least even a little bit. Overall a really sweet place to be.

This is a great coffee gem! I just ordered a new espresso machine (Barista Express) and didn't know what beans to get. Staff was extremely helpful and the coffee is amazing! My next trip I bought espresso beans from Costco which were half the price but you know the old saying....you get what you pay for. The Costco beans were no where near the flavour you get from Monigram Coffee so I have consistently gone back here and threw out my Costco beans. Highly recommended for great beans to give you the best coffee at home.

The atmosphere is laid back and the food is fresh and light. The staff are always engaging and I've always felt welcomed here. This is a great hangout for locals, so if you live in town, pop in to chat with your neighbours. If you're just passing through, you need to come just to say you've had Monigram coffee. 5 stars.

We went there at 10:20am, waited 10 minutes in line, then waited another 35 minutes to get our food! If they have a long order with multiple clients they should warn customers that they will be waiting that long for a bagel! Then they also gave people who came after us, their food first, because they got it to go, so basically people who choose not to sit at the restaurant get their food before those who dine it, even if they previous people showed up 20 minutes after them. RIDICULOUS!

Easily my favourite place to pick up beans. They are one of the few places that I've found that have a natural process bean available all the time, especially locally. If you're getting a cup of coffee, there are tons of beans and processes available to choose from (i.e. standard drip, espresso, pour-over, Chemex pour-over, Aeropress, syphon, etc.). The food and pastries are also good in my experience, but I haven't delved into them too much because I'm really in it for the coffee. Update - They now have online ordering for all of your quarantine coffee bean needs! Free delivery in Cambridge, and within the general region on orders $35+.

It was almost $30 for 2 bagels and 2 mochas. Expensive. The mochas were really good, the bagels were alright but I have no idea why it cost almost $30. The bagels should at least come with hashbrowns or salad or something to make it worth the price. You can get the same thing somewhere else for half the price.

Buy the beans or enjoy a cuppa, or both! I usually try to grab a bag of beans when I have a little time to sit down and enjoy a cup of whatever is "on tap" as the daily brew, more fun this way. In the age of Covid this has not been possible but this shop has been brilliant handling the curveballs and changing rules that come with, absolutely flexible with delivery and when allowed pick ups.

Great friendly cafe environment. This is one of my favorite places to study in the city. Prices are a bit above average; around $$-$$$. Ordered a green tea latte, sandwich combo that came with baked chips and a baked good. I thoroughly enjoyed the green tea latte, it would be something I would come back for. Sandwich was good but not something that would make me want to come back for it. I came here on two separate days. For those who would like to study or do some work, weekdays are the best times for you as I found that Sundays are busier due to it being a weekend and many people coming for brunch. During these times, seatings are limited and due to the nosier environment, it would not suggest it to be a place to study. OH and plugs! They have plugs on the walls which make it very assessible and convenient for those bringing their laptops.

Monica and Graham and family are terrific, staff are superb at their job and they love it. shows with the coffee and attention to detail here. you get what you pay for, they go and select the coffee and where its coming from which comes out in their coffee's pour overs, latte's and Americana's. a must try in Cambridge for the coffee lover. oh and try some of their food its local alot of it and tasty. waffles are terrific and so is the morning sandwich named after Monica ;)
