I love you, I Love You Coffee
Very nice coffee shop! Great bagels for a light breakfast. Great coffee and tea as well! Very nice staff. Great underground hidden gem!
The Grave Digger son and a beautiful mixture of Mr. Furley and Larry's apartment.
Only went to this coffee shop once for the ET themed bicycle ride. But the staff is nice and all my friends rave about it. Try it out if you're in the core.
The person that runs this is awesome, and their Instagram account is worth a follow. Some of the best coffee I've had in YYC.
Great customer service, completely non judgemental, understands that life is truly about..kindness and empathy for all mankind. As a bonus..probably the best cup of coffee in the city!!
A great, little, underground coffee shop with the best vinyl collection and couches in the land.
Rare 70s vinyl Garfield Phone Montreal Bagels 16-time World Champ John Cena Booze Japanese Baked Goods Best Sandwich Board Smack in the League Coffee pretty dang good too.
Best coffee downtown, definitely a hidden gem!
Great coffee ????
This place is a gem. You can also grab a six pack of beer or a bottle of wine. I 'm not writing a novella about how everything tastes great. Coffee: drink it. It's good for you, and they make some of the best. They play cool music
Great bagels, great coffee, and excellent service. I love you, I Love You Coffee Shop.
The perfect coffee shop. Great tasting, fair price and an amazing location. It's super charming. Owner was friendly and was kind enough to talk about the various beans with me. Go raptors!
decent prices, great coffee, and amazingly friendly staff. i highly recommend! their americanos cost less than starbucks and taste way better. can't wait to come again
Super rad spot to grab a coffee!!! Don’t look elsewhere.
I hate this place and by hate I mean love deeply and truly.
A rare gem. This isn't your Mama's Starbucks. That's a feature not s big.
Great atmosphere and what a collection of vinyl! The coffee is good too. It is only a block off of Central Memorial Park and two blocks from 17th. Look for the pink sign. It's in the basement below the Happy Together store for maximum coolness. Check out their Instagram too for more enjoyment.
Creative space and good coffee.
This quirky little cafe is simply awesome. If you're looking for a laidback, yet fun cafe environment - this is the place for you. Great coffee, great food and great music, with passionate, fun and down to earth staff, that will be sure to have you smiling and keep you laughing. Check out their instagram and see for yourself! I LOVE you - I love you coffee shop. Thanks for having a great spot for us to relax, laugh and socialize. ????????
Wowww. Amazing creativity demonstrated by the owner in opening this shop. Very modern.
Nice chic location that serves killer espressos and even better beer up until midnight. The owner has great music taste as well a great vinyl is always playing. Nice place with welcoming staff and even more welcoming atmosphere
Cozy atmosphere, amazing coffee, bagels are to die for and service is friendly
The place is easy to find despite being downstairs from the street level entrance. The large hot chocolate was large for the price and pretty good! It took longer than I thought it should for the server to bring it though. I was wondering if I was forgot about.
I had a sandwich from here and I'm still thinking about how good it was 4 hours later.
Cute little underground coffee shop with very eclectic decor with cutest espresso cups. Baristas are friendly. Great music as evident by the tons of vinyls behind the counter.
Coffee is fantastic and gorgeous interior
So cuteeee! So trendy
Analog too busy for you? Can't get a seat at Philosophy? Come here! They're open almost as late and they make a proper traditional cappuccino. The owner has a huge vinyl collection here, they spin records all day, and they always have a welcoming vibe.
I Love You coffee shop is like Jesus Christ cradling you in His arms and gently whispering "you are my finest creation."
I went in for a trad cap, and just as i was about to be extremely disappointed in the shameful reality that they weren’t going to be able to make one properly... they did. And it was good! Also whoever makes the bagel sandwiches knows what they’re doing. Paint job’s pretty good too. 10/10, would recommend ????
Been here twice, and the customer service was great, could be sunnier but what can you do when your store is in a basement. Hopefully they can upgrade soon :)
Good coffee. Cool music. Neat room space.
Gr8 coffee and service lovely vibe
The sign says "seventh best underground coffee shop" but that's just being modest. This is a fantastic spot to grab some top-notch espresso drinks without ever having to worry if you're doing it "right." The baristas here all make excellent coffee without the pretentious baggage. Add on that sweet wooden duck and this place is 10/10.
Cute and comfortable atmosphere, yummy japanese baked treats.
Dan makes THE BEST coffee. His eclectic (almost secret/ fight club/ dead poets society /high fidelity) joint always features the best sandwich boards, conversation, and decor. Such a positive attitude in the community! We all love you right back!
I think it's the next hidden treasure coffee spot. Talked with the manager/owner (I believe). Great guy who knew his Seinfeld, music and plays records. The type of place where you feel where you can relax and lounge. Has that hipster feel where you can eat, drink booze, and lattes. They sell Japanese baked goods and booze. My new favorite place to go too as well very convenient location. Highly recommend this place with 5 stars.
I love I Love You Coffee Shop! It’s a great local spot that’s very cozy and comfortable. They play great music and serve great drinks! This shop also hosts local artists as a venue for music or a place to display art which is really rad. Employees are kind and friendly as well!

Tasty bagle loaded with cream cheese. Employee was very friendly!
Hidden gem - Great coffee at a great price! The music / vinyl collection is a nice touch, will be back often!
An artsy, quaint cafe in Beltline located down the stairs inside Happy Together Convenience Store. Cute corners with plants and paintings, pleasant music in bg, quite spacious. Got a Cappuccino and PB&J bagel. Coffee tasted great, bagel was loaded with peanut butter. Open until 8PM which makes it SO convenient to work from here on a weekend. Also, sells alcohol (beer, cider etc). Will be back for the latter and try some food. A little too pink for my choice and the floors did not go well with the ambience, service was okayish, but glad to have found this hidden gem in Calgary downtown!
Great little coffee shop with a cool atmosphere and customers
Nominated for the best first date location. Great coffee and music, comfortable atmosphere, bizarrely fascinating social media presence, and definitely a key part of the Calgary art scene. They're super friendly and I can't recommend them enough!
Great vibe, convenient location. A little hard to find as it's in the basement but worth the effort. Owner was great, good music and most importantly good coffee.
A literal hidden gem. I have been living DT for nearly 2 years & just discovered this place last week. Love the drinks & the atmosphere.
Good vibes, great coffee, wonderful tunes.
Best Shop in the city!!!!!!!!!! MTL BAGELS! great owner and dope environment.
Best. Place. On. Earth.
is gooood
I can't walk by I Love You without thinking about their pizza bagel. So good (the coffee too)
The best!
We came across the shop while on our evening post-dinner stroll. But wouldn't recommend this - not at least for the Americano we had. Below average coffee - reminded me of the kind of coffee you get at the rest areas in the US. The shop is in the basement and you need to climb down a good number of stairs (may not be recommended for seniors). Having said that, it has a good seating area. There weren't any customers since it was quite late. The gentleman at the counter was nice and friendly. They also keep alcohol. For late-night coffee, there are extremely few options available in this part of the downtown, which is a shame. But this is the place to try if you want to - just not the black coffee.
Love what they’ve done with the space. Wonderful community hub. Incredible coffee.
Cool spot
Best cortado in Calgary!
Great coffee, snacks, bagels, staff, décor, etc. And that record collection?? Just an overall 5/5. They also take requests, as every good DJ should. CHEERS.
Really cozy atmosphere to sit and have a coffee or tea with a friend. I like the couches for seating and the music and friendly staff add to the cool environment.
Hidden gem!
Awesome vibe and great art!
Cool spot
One of my favourite shops in Calgary! Great coffee, sick record collection and great staff. Love!
Take out
With so much hesitancy to try this place at first (with its uncommon name, to knowing it's downstairs beside a convenient store), I regret not exploring it sooner. A wonderful coffee shop which also provide the most amazing bagel sandwich varieties ($3-9) to alcohol selection (local breweries) for purchase to some bakery buns/sweets. The owner here is a friendly and awesome guy who also managed to make the jazz record playing in the background and interior set up in such a unique yet welcoming vibe (livened by art and lots of plants). Coffee here is good with nicely roasted beans and brewed well (drinks from $2.50-5.05). Definitely worth a couple of frequent visits. Highly recommend trying their bagels.
Local happiness.
Low key underground coffee shop that serves goooooood coffee, espressos etc. and has some breakfast items. Highly recommend, only complaint is that it’s hard to find lol
Fun and funky, good music, and great coffee.
Really cool spot! And they are one of the few coffee shops to serve Oat Milk lattes. You may come in to get a coffee to go, but you’ll end up staying awhile and just taking in the retro, kitschy vibes. They are open late too.
came in 5 mins before close— drawn in by great coffee & great art!!! this is a colourful & interesting place run by a very nice person named dan! i will be coming back soon ‼️
beautiful, cozy, and inspiring. i love you coffee shop is the HEIGHT of coffee shops. i make sure to go at least once a week and i am always greeted by super cool, super nice baristas, a clean environment, the nicest selection of bagel sandwiches and japanese baked goods in town, and a wealth of amazing music (including the shrek soundtrack, which i gifted to them.) its always the perfect temperature, and exactly the right vibe. it's definitely my happy place!!
I buy my beans here every week. They are super friendly, knowledgeable and always playing awesome music. I'm a big fan
The best. Just the best.
What a great place.
Liked the cozy place,, but there was one of the staff that didn't seem friendly, that's all
Liquid that smells LOVE! Vibe that only brings love, NO room for hate! For exquisite experience please visit this coffee shop. Be curious to surprise yourself and not judgemental. This coffee shop is just love and no regrets!
it was just ok for me.
This place truly has the best bagels in the city. Facts. The staff are cool too and can make a mean Americano Misto.
Pretty cool spot! Great quirky design, art and vibe. Good tunes playing at all times and very tasty coffee. Also, love that you can grab packs of local craft beer to go that’s a nice touch. I would give this 5 stars however the lineup was very long today when I went and their was only 1 employee working on this Saturday morning, waited for more than 15mins to get a drip coffee. Arguably it is worth the wait.. however I would still prefer quicker service :) would go back though!
Great spot! Really good coffee, really good bagels, good tunes, great space. I love you I love you Coffee Shop!
Hidden gem with great music and even better coffee
Coffee is great!!
Best coffee, local beer and YYC growers pickup place. Sam and Merm are the best people ever, during hard core Covid they were almost my only social interaction. They make you smile. <3
Best staff. Good food. Decent coffee. Hours are long so you can go play cards or work late. Really good community vibes to hang out in. This is the local business to support, we’ve got too many bland/“cool” coffee shops.
Great music, even better coffee.
What I appreciate the most is Dan’s attitude in the community. Bagels are supreme. Coffee is always perfection. Music can’t be beat. I also appreciate the attention to COVID safety and the mandatory masking lets me know they’re taking all the precautions very seriously. (Food is currently only available to-go. Photo taken at my desk).
This place deserves your business. Not only incredible music, but the coffee, beer, bagels, and everything else are well priced and served with amazing warmth. This is the cafe I've been looking for all along.
The lattes are extremely good. Highly recommend this place for any coffee.
Great, coffee, great food, great service, great everything! What more could you ask for?
The past couple years have been hard, especially on my relationship. Thankfully, ILYCS has been a port in the storm, and my marriage has been saved! A million thanks to all the great staff and good brew down there. Sometimes the eggs are a bit overcooked though.
The bagels are delicious, the coffee is wonderful, the music is unique, the atmosphere is welcoming, and the people are friendly. ILYCS is like a home away from home.
A basic breakfast bagel is $5, but when you add ham, cheese, spinach and tomato it's over $11, not worth it.
A more intimate basement location I deal for meeting with friends .Next time I will ask him to heat my hot chocolate more but I look Ke it hotter Nonetheless a good location
The bagel sandwich taste very good.
One of the staff (Marm?) recommended I chug a rev like a sodie pop and I got my taxes done in under 2 days. Best underground themed cafe I ever been to.
This place is the stuff of my 1990s dreams. Vinyl playing, good coffee, killer bagels, art on the walls. I love it.
The coffee is great, but what sets this place apart is the tunes that play in the background, it’s either the ultimate playlist or the owner just has great taste and knows how to drive the feel of the place... I don’t know. It’s unassuming but hip, if such a thing is possible. While It would work for a first date, it’s probably the ultimate break up location... those are hard to find!
Very cozy and a great place to grab a coffee and plug away at a project. When I throw in the towel I can transition to a drink and book.
I'm hesitant to share with you how awesome this place is. I want it to myself.
I absolutely love this place. Amazing environment and staff. The BEST bagels you will ever have in your life and really great coffee. It’s super unique on the inside and the owner plays sweet music off his record player. The owner really cares about his food and customers. If you want a lovely place to have breakfast and listen to good music, go to Dans !!!
Very cozy place! Great coffee with a different variety of products! The workers are super friendly too!
Super chill space to binge read. Find deep deep cuts of music that is not shazam-able. Quality social media content. Adorable art. Quirky (and sometimes grumpy) staff that makes you feel appreciated. Sad I don't live close to it anymore, but anytime I'm downtown I try to pop by. If you are looking for a chill- creative space to work, read, or socialize at; highly recommend. Oh and 98% of their menu is delicious too.
Amazing bagels. Great coffee and friendly unpretentious staff.
A nice, hidden, cafe with a light atmosphere and good coffee.
Best underground Cafe in the Beltline.
A very cool shop! The lattes here are great, and the cowboy pizza bagel (on Montreal style bagel) is very tasty. It is downstairs via the same door as the convenience store. Oh, you can also get beer and wine!
Really loved the bagels and the coffee. Cool little hole in the wall place that is relaxed and funky. Just what I was looking for.
Cute, cozy, great quality coffee for a good price.
Lovely little hidden gem, with good coffee and cool art.
Such a cute little spot in the basement, you wouldn't even know it's there!! BESTTTTT coffee I've had in forever! ????
Stumbled on this place while wandering around Calgary, and I’m so glad we did. Such a gorgeous little place, the owner was super friendly even though we came 10 minutes before closing (oops!) I always try to stop by when I am in the city!
What an unexpected gem. This is a super cute little hole in the wall. Looking forward to future late night coffee runs.
The espresso was pretty obviously not dialed in correctly so it didn’t taste very good, but the barista was really nice! Also the consistency of the milk was perfect.
Silly and adorable staff and cute little spot! Their iced latte with oat milk is to die for!!!!
Come here every few weeks for a matcha latte. It's a real hidden gem, I like that the place is super chill and isn't super packed after work. Also, melon pan! The staff is great, and they always have interesting music playing.
Best bagel west of Montreal. Excellent coffee and a place you actually feel like staying in as long as possible.
A not so friendly female staff member the first time we were there but a nicer male server the second time and the girl seemed better our third visit to. The third visit has us looking forward to giving them another try because the place is pretty cool and does have potential. Wished we had visited them Pre-Pandemic as most other restraunts have also been hit or miss so not fair to judge them after just 3 pandemic visits.
Walked right by this place. Look for the ATM sign and head down the stairs. Great latte and super friendly service. I appreciate the music here.
We went in to get out of the snow and to talk for a bit. It's a lovely place with very good lattes. The staff were friendly and helpful and over all the place was very warm and welcoming.
Service
I love this coffee shop
Dan and the team are a staple of the community. Coming here for a cup feels like visiting an old friend. Don’t miss out on the delicious, nutritious breakfast bagels.
Great hidden gem. Amazing atmosphere and food. Can’t wait to go back and try their coffee.

A secret hiding in plain sight (and down some stairs). The best coffee shop in belt line (or 7th best *underground*—depending on who you ask). It's a no brainer. Go get that coffee, go get that fosters baked goods (GUHHH), go get that mild afternoon drinky vibe rolling... Pretty much everything you want. I also bought several pieces of art from here too. It's a pretty place. Plus the music eeeee
I've never had a bagel I didn't LOVE. Great coffee, great food, great human.
Quaint, quiet, peaceful, bougie, comfy, sleep worthy, bagel loving, no shoes on couch, plant loving, coffee drinking, good. Try a peppermint lime ice tea, grab a book, or John cena’s hand, pop a squat and chill for 3 hours.
This spot has the best coffee, a great vibe, and is reasonably priced. Do yourself a favour and skip the chain coffee shops in the area and check out I Love You Coffee Shop.
Honestly my fav coffee shop in the city. Great vibe and fantastic coffee. Also they’re w liquor store too which is v rad?!
Great little coffe shop, nice and cozy.
I love this place!
Put some respekt on dj quack
Love this place. In the heart of the Beltline, serves quality coffee in a cool atmosphere without the pretentiousness. Try their breakfast bagel- it's a favourite!
