This place is absolutely lovely, and they're really sweet, and care about their customers. My partner went over by themselves, and the person there asked where I was, because she was used to me showing up as well! They have a lot of options that are all tasty, I'd personally suggest the Parm and leak pastry, Peach banana smoothie, Matcha bread, and the apple turn over. My partner really likes their sandwiches!

Wonderful london fog. Tuna melt was a bit light on tuna, bit heavy on onion and I hate cheese slices, but the service was awesome. I would try something else next time.

Tried to go today with my mom since the reviews were good. Showed up at 1:45 PM to find the store closed with no signs despite the hours on the door indicating it should be open. It looked like no one had opened since there was still newspaper jammed in the door. Not to mention, they're website is not found. Ended up walking to a coffee shop nearby. Returned and hour later and still closed. Dissappointed because we went out of our way to travel to the shop, twice. Not impressed.

Very tasty! Lots of options and specialty coffees! Some food options available as well (sandwiches and bakery items). Has a nice small outside sitting area to enjoy. Quality is good, it is a bit more pricy (think bit higher then starbucks pricing), so thats the only reason I'm giving 4 stars instead of 5. Honestly might have more to do with high cost of renting spaces here. Over all: a good quality cafe that I would support. Can verify, the Nutella Latte and Iced Caramel Macchiato are delicious and well worth trying! Their Black Sugar Latte will be next on my hit list :p

Came here on a whim after driving by. It's a nice little cafe to get work done. Ordered a Matcha waffle and a black sugar iced latte. The coffee was amazing and would definitely come back for their drinks. The waffle was a little underwhelming. The waffle came from the fridge and was not made fresh but reheated. The middle was a little soggy and had crunchy sugary bits inside, if it was made fresh I believe it would be much better. The matcha for the pancake came in a small shot glass and you pour it over the ice cream and waffle. Don't pour the whole glass in, if you were to pour the whole glass it your waffle would be swimming and extremely soggy. There is no parking on the lot of their building. You will need to pay for street parking.

Cafe 106 simply serves excellent coffee. It's been a while I didn't get their banana-shaped pastries because I'm trying to be good, but I have cravings everytime I come grab a coffee and see them on the shelf. They bake pastries every morning so be ready for delicious smells! Super sweet service, it's always a pleasure to come here. Please note that they don't have a lot of tables so I personally wouldn't come here to work on a laptop, as a courtesy for other patrons.

One star because service was extremely bad. I just visited and had an Americano and turkey breast panini. I've read some nice reviews before and thought I'd visit since Camellia Tea & Coffee was not yet open. I walked in and was greeted. Since it was my first time and not wanting to waste too much time looking around, I asked if they had sandwiches. She pointed to the board which was fine. They listed turkey croissants and I asked if I could have it with another bread instead. She said turkey panini. I concurred. Then I asked if they served pourover coffees but she looked puzzled. That's okay. I understood that not all cafes serve it so after using two seconds to describe that it was a type of coffee-making process, she told me that they have Americano only. So, I went with an Americano. Gave 12% tip on top of her unhelpful tone throughout the conversation - like I was a low class customer or something). Got the Americano and tasted it. Wasn't very strong. I don't mean the roast. When she brought the sandwich over, no expression on her face. Kinda just dropped it in front of me and casually threw some napkins. I said, "thank you" but no response. Panini was pretty good. If not for service, I would've given a higher rating (service is very important in this industry). After I finished, I shared with her that, for an Americano, I found that it wasn't very strong. She instantly thought I was referring to the roast. I guess she thought I didn't know my coffee. Oh, well. So, I came out of the washroom and as I passed the counter, I said, "thank you" again. She didn't respond. Well, that topped it off for me. Not sure I will ever return. Turned me off completely. Perhaps, she thought I was a troublesome customer. Or maybe I'm just a one-off customer. Bye!

First time to come here for a latte before I met up with friends. The exterior of this coffee shop does not look outstanding but I reviewed this place on Yelp before visiting. The rating was quite high, so my husband and I gave it a try. We ordered a large maple and almond latte. It is new on the menu. There was only 1 barista. It was good that there was only us and another customer; otherwise we might have to wait for a long time for the beverages. The maple and almond latte did not have a flavour of coffee at all. But it tasted good. It had a strong milk and almond milk flavour. It was not too sweet, which was great! We looked at the pastries at the front. They were not super attractive, so we didn’t try any. The barista was very quite. He didn’t really smile or we didn’t feel friendliness from his face. He just served us and the other customer. The interior was okay.... kind of contemporary. Comparing to other coffee shops in the same neighbourhood or ones in Vancouver, the interior could have been improved a lot. First time to come here for a latte before I met up with friends. We were happened to be in this neighbourhood, so we tried this cafe; otherwise we might not come here. It might be good for the people who live in this neighbourhood (I guess).

My wife and I have been going there almost every single day for almost a year, the cafe and the three staff we interact with have become part of our lives. The service is beyond amazing and is only equaled by the quality of the coffee and the bakery items. The guy who is there during the weekly mornings deserves a raise and so do the awesome ladies there on the weekends. Their service is the kind of quality I became used to while living in Japan. That's saying a lot. Thanks guys for making our mornings so great.

Don't be fooled by the simple interior - it's an awesome coffee shop! My new favourite in Vancouver. Try the black sugar latte half sweet if you like lattes/add cream and sugar to your coffee. The only place I've seen that does it and they do it well. Small space inside for doing some work or catching up with a friend, and they have a few patio tables as well. Their matcha bread is addictive. So moist and cakey with perfect balance of matcha flavour. Not too sweet. The perfect on the go breaky! They have great combos - panini + coffee for $9 something. We did not try but have returned multiple times for coffee and pastries

You can smell the fresh croissants from the side walk! Cafe 106 is my go-to and you’re missing out if you’ve never experienced their mouth watering baked goods. Not to mention the oat milk latte! The atmosphere is cozy and the staff is so kind. By far the best barista’s in Burnaby. They create with love and it tastes so so good! I recommend trying the croffle if you have a sweet tooth, the Parmesan and leek croissant if you’re looking for savory, and the pesto panini if your looking for lunch. You simply can’t go wrong with any of their coffee/espresso offerings. Plus they have regular cafe hours that are reliable.

The coffee was excellent and the fact that it's organic coffee gets big brownie points from me. It's decorated a little too like a cheap cafe for me but as my husband pointed out they're working with a small space and have certainly created something reasonable. I would pick this place over Starbucks or TH's any day of the week. I will without doubt be back for the coffee, I'm just not likely to sit in there to work.

I am new in the neighborhood and this is the coffee shop I've always wanted in my community. This place made me happy. The customer service was SUPERB (I had take out and you should have seen how carefully they took my order and do the packaging)! The sandwiches were to die for. And the interior was modest and cozy. I go here at least a few times a week for a sandwich. Incredible deal, every sandwich is fresh, loaded with interesting combinations of veggies, sauces and good cheese. Not the pre sliced cheese in a package but gouda, havarti or mozzarella, Plus the bread is amazing, with cranberrys and other unique flavors. $4.25 for a sandwich? Seriously I tried making my own lunch and couldnt make a good one for that price!

Cafe 106 is a smallish cafe on the corner of Royal Oak and Grimmer in Burnaby. When I first came across the name, I briefly wondered if there were 105 other similar cafes somewhere around town but quickly realized that “106” is their unit number. Although the interior is a bit small, it’s bright and airy from the light streaming through the windows and they have some toe-tapping light jazz playing in the background. I wound up ordering a creamy 12oz London Fog ($4.45) and a Grilled Tuna Melt ($7.55). The tuna melt was on point with a cheesy tuna filling with red peppers and corn on a crisp ciabatta bun. I dropped by for another visit in April and was surprised at how busy it was (as it was fairly quiet during my first drop-in). This time around, I ordered the Basil Pesto Turkey ($7.55) along with a 12oz Hot Chocolate ($4.15) and a Chocolate Chip Banana Bread ($2.80). I was a bit disappointed that my hot chocolate came in a paper cup instead of a mug but I was pleasantly pleased with the banana bread (love the way they made it into a banana shape). There were thin banana slices that were caramelized on the outside which had a nice light crunch to the exterior while the inside was soft and moist. It actually worked well dipping into my hot chocolate. While there was nothing wrong with the turkey melt, I personally think the tuna melt was better. The sandwich had a couple of layers of turkey breast slices, tomato, and cheese on the basil pesto draped grilled ciabatta bun. Undeterred, I returned for another visit and ordered the Basil Pesto Chicken ($7.55) which is essentially the same as the turkey version but with chicken instead and then paired it with a 12oz London Fog ($4.45) and a chocolate chip cookie for dunking. Overall, it’s a nice little cafe shop for a quick bite.

I really like this coffee spot. There's always some in house baking in the showcase and if you get there early enough in the morning you'll get it fresh from the oven. The coffee and pastries are all reasonably priced.

Such friendly staff and cute, quaint atmosphere. There were only two employees and both of them were so nice and sweet. Coffee isn't very expensive but very well made and delicious, but the food is a little small for the price. Visited on a monday morning and it wasn't busy - plenty of place to sit , but lots of people coming in and out. Would absolutely come again!

Came with my friend in the afternoon when we suddenly felt like having something sweet. The pastries here are delicate and delicious. I’m not a coffee person but I actually love the coffee here! My friend ordered this sandwich that’s also fresh and tasty. The toast is warm and crunchy which I love so much❤️ it’s a organized store and environment with chill atmosphere. Great atmosphere, very relaxing and warm interior. Fluffy and very delicious waffle. We also enjoyed affogato and honey latte. Staff is nice and knowledgeable. A wonderful neighbourhood gem.

Awesome coffee and the food was fantastic. You need to be patient here. There is usually only one person working and they prep everything person by person. Does mean it takes a bit longer. But every single item is carefully made and the quality is awesome.

The perfect simple and relaxing cafe. Cappuccino was smooth and delicious - looks like they use 49th Parallel beans which are great. Small pastry tasted great. Ambiance of soft jazz music, the decor and the plentiful sunlight and cozy benches make it a perfect place to relax for a chat or get some work done. Service isn't crazy fast because usually only one person working there, but the guy is always super friendly and polite.

Intimate, unassuming looking space. Baked goods are freshly baked in-house, and ones that I tried were surprisingly good. Panini, on the other hand, is middling at best, stick to baked goods. Good coffee (Parallel 49) and other creative drink options. Recommended.
