Here you have the reviews of real people who bought the products of Tait's Fresh Start (Coffee Shop) in Brockville (Canada).
At the present the business receives a rating of 4.5 over 5 and the score was based on 127 reviews.
You may have noticed that it reaches an opinions average is almost the highest, and it's founded on a very large number of feddbacks, so we can say that the rating is very faithful. If many people have bothered to evaluate when they are pleased with the business, it works.
You know that we do not usually bother to set tatings when they are good and we usually do it only if we've had a problem or issue...
This Coffee Shop is classified in the category of Bakery.

Great food, great service in Brockville's little historical gem. Love to see Pam smiling behind the counter♡

Tasty baked foods, fresh baked bread, lunch to eat there or to go, pies, cakes, cookies and so much more. You can also call in orders???? I love my local bakery and the staff are amazing.

Absolutely adore Tait's bakery???????????? it is always fresh and super tasty food and their baked goods are to Die For!!!!

More than a bakery, it is a great spot for lunch

Lunch specials are fantastic.

YUMMM! Fresh baked delicacies from scratch! Its delicious, a must for anyone visiting Brockville!

Great spot with very friendly staff

An employee made a huge mistake with my order. I ordered sandwiches for my daughter's shower, when I asked for the crusts to be cut off IF and only IF it would NOT cost more Tait's went ahead and cut off the crusts causing the price to increase +$75! Jay, the owner, would not refund my money because in his words: We had received the correct order. I told him I said NOT to change the order if it would cost more. He as much as said I hadn't said that! Well I can assure you I will never deal with Tait's again. I would never recommend them to anyone. They are dishonest and just want to make as much money as possible at a customers expense. These new owners have sure run the reputation of Tait's into the ground.

Great subs and baked goodies!

Love this pastry shop.

Food and service is good, homemade meals yum!

One word .... BREAD

(Translated) Very good (Original) Très bon

Excellent homemade soup & pie!! Had a great lunch there with my daughter!

Great sandwiches and treats!

No non dairy milk available. Coffee was mediocre.

Awesome food and service

Good bread Almond croissants are a bit weird

Friendly attentive staff.

Best Barker for you buck

Awesome bakery and Cafe. Food is delicious and fresh with a great downtown vibe to relax in.

Their club sandwich is incredible.

Love the Breakfast Wrap. Best in Brockville!!!!!

Great bread and breakfast/ lunch selection. Neat place good treats.

Love the coffee and fresh pastries

Really good and fresh food I recommend The donuts are really good too

Delicious homemade treats, breads and sandwiches. Everything here is delicious.???? The staff is very nice as well and move things along quickly.

Good food. A little pricey. A little slow. Really poor hours. Closes way to early. Poor coffee.

A classic Brockville snack stop. Sausage rolls to die for, sandwiches, pastries. Can get busy, but worth it.

Fresh bread and good variety of sandwiches.

Best date cookies, apple fritters and wagon wheel donuts in the world.

Great place to get deserts, sandwiches???? etc. Good customer service as well.

Great food. Great people.

Yummy apple fritters reserved 2days before and ready to go Saturday morning Get there early to avoid Saturday rush hour and a little wait if you can - obviously popular! (or maybe a little short staffed these days unfortunately)

Food is fantastic. Service is usually typically very good and accommodating. Some of the younger staff in the past have worn fake nails while making sandwiches and I believe, for health and safety guidelines, if they are going to have fake nails they should wear gloves. The desserts are really wonderful and the pies are flaky, with the filling having just the right amount of sweet and tart flavours. Overall would definitely suggest trying out their submarines (the cheese sub bread is very delicious), soups are made day of, I believe, and are typically quite delicious and they provide a couple of options. They also have fresh baked bread on the rack that you buy and take home.

Great treats super value.

Amazing Bakery. Fresh EVERYTHING every morning.. and there left overs are donated to the local Food Bank. Their Cheese Kaiser Buns are heavenly, and the Chocolate Chip Banana Bread... well my mouth is drooling atm thinking about it.. Might have to pick one up in the morning :)

Great food. Good service. Not much seating, unfortunately.

This has to be my favourite place in Brockville. Good quality product at a very reasonable price.

I get subs and they are fantastic!

Fantastic food fantastic employees the experience is fantastic. Worth the money you pay. Club sandwiches excellent.

I recommend getting "Old School" toppings on your sub....that's what keep people returning...it sets Tait's subs apart from the rest.

Fresh food, great sandwiches.... just a little too pricey to get 5 Stars

It's hard to find good bakeries in small towns. I tried the eclair and the pastry and chocolate were good but the cream filling tasted like icing sugar, not cream, disappointing, too sweet, ruins it. The baguette is ho hum bread. Looking forward to ordering my next batch of baking from Kingston, the closest good bakeries I can find.

Excellent good and good prices

Delicious food at great prices! Homemade gluten free bread and rolls available. Breakfast foods and sandwiches also available.

Yummy treats, good service, you will not be disappointed.

Great Christmas treats.

Tait's is great. Wendy, Perry and the rest of the team are always busy, but TAKE THE TIME to connect with me to ensure my sandwiches are made to my exact specifications. Unlike Subway where the Salt and Pepper are commonly in a jar mixed together - at Tait's they do it the old fashioned way: One Shaker at a Time. This way I'm sure to get the Salt ON TOP of the pepper (to bring out it's natural peppery flavour). It's these types of small (but IMPORTANT) attention to details that make this independent family owned Canadian bakery WAY BETTER than Subway. Sure, Subway has avocado (sometimes). I've spoken to Tait's owner, Perry, about this many times. He says that's fine. He's not against avocados PER SE. And he's given me his blessing to go to Subway whenever I feel the need to taste avocados on a sandwich (which honestly isn't all that often when you actually do the math). See - Tait's is cool with you trying other places (once in a while). I've never seen Subway advertise that it's ok to eat at McDonalds!!! So - OVERALL I'd say Tait's beats Subway. BY A MILE!

Good sandwiches!

This place has good food and atmosphere. Try the doughnuts.

The best bakery in Eastern Ontario!

I always come over and grab a bite to eat when I'm getting tattoo work over at Royal next door:) all cold cuts you could ever want plus certain toasted hot subs. Lots of yummy bakery sweets here aswell. Great place to stop by if you need lunch, will always come back and highly recommended.

Excellent local bakery for lunch or just a break. Friendly service and fresh products.

Desserts were delicious and the hot chocolate was creamy and delicious.

Great treats, sandwiches, and coffee. Just wish they opened earlier.

Freshly baked breads and pastries. Nice variety and, cake decor.

Great desserts, friendly staff. Give the daily coffee special a try.

My mom and I just returned from having lunch at Tait's, which she had gone to for years before it closed the first time. There were two women working: one young blonde woman and an older woman with black hair. I ordered the special, which consisted of half a sandwich, small bowl of soup and a dessert, and my mom ordered a large bowl of soup. The brunette server prepared my sandwich with no gloves on & didn't wash her hands, wiped her face with her bare hand, then continued. When it came for me to choose my dessert, the brunette server told me that dessert wasn't any pastry as it seemed but only cherry pie. I asked her if I could just have a pastry that I wanted and pay the difference and she said no. So I opted to have a bar for "dessert" for my mom to take home, and I paid full for the pastry I wanted. While all this was happening, the blonde server gave the last two bowls to other customers, which my mom had already ordered and would now not receive. The brunette waitress shrugged, did not offer us any discount for the inconvenience, and my mom had to sit there and watch me eat thanks to these servers' incompetence. To make matters worse, while we sat there unhappy and unhelped, the blonde server took out the garbage with her bare hands, then served other customers all without washing. They then talked loudly about how the sink was plugged. I can see why this joke of an establishment shut down in the first place, if they offer no customer service they don't deserve to serve customers. We will NOT ever be going back to Tait's, after years of giving them our business, because of this terrible experience and indifference from staff, and recommend that others avoid such an incident by going here. There is no point in giving business to an establishment whose employees obviously don't care about their jobs, the cleanliness of their workspace or their customers.

Best subs in town pound for pound

Love the Mediterranean bread!!

Enjoyed the apple turnover (soft and not overly sweet) and the fresh bread selection is great.

I have been coming to this location for the last 5 years or so. Between Fresh Start and the original Taits, I have been enjoying Taits Subs for 30 years. Definitely HIGHLY recommend!

Best gluten free bread I have ever tasted.

Always a positive experience, friendly staff and the best bakery around. I used to go to the old one in Montreal in the early 60's when it was Feigles Bakery.

I buy banana, apple cinnamon and blueberry breads from here, as well as, birthday cakes. Everything is super fresh, delicious and reasonably priced. J Gagne Stitchman

Love the bread. Have bought there for years, but make sure it is fresh as 1 day it's stale. Favorite is unsliced Chinese and rolls. Use stale bread for French toast. Love the bread glad Tait's is back.

Great treats, fresh

Great food excellent deli sandwiches service moderate no real sense of urgency very neat and clean business

Had a delicious lunch here today, staff were incredible. Food was delicious!

With delicious food, baked in house, and affordable prices, Tait's is a hidden gem in Brockville. Stop by for the lunch special (soup, sandwich and dessert) and pick up some treats to take home and savour.

We love Tait's. The food is always fresh and affordable. The staff, always friendly, and it's just a great place to enjoy being out with friends.

(Translated) Good pastries and the submarines for dinner are very fresh! (Original) Bonne patisseries et les sous marins pour diner sont très frais!

Ordered a birthday cake..It was the next best thing to homemade! ????????

Great food, better price

Not as nice as it used to be, the products seem to be frozen goods not fresh.

Wonderful ,fresh food!!

Great service.

Friendly staff and delicious food

Delish subs. Have had better cookies.

Great fresh bake goods. Soups, chili and sandwiches are super. Loads of fresh bread choices. Pre-made dinners like lasagna, chicken pot pies, etc Love love the chocolate peanut butter balls.

Always superb food ... sandwiches, baked goods and best bread in the region. Wonderfully helpful employees.

Live it there and will be going back!!

Friendly, good service. Covid protocol in place. Cookies were fresh and excellent

Always fresh and friendly service

Taits has always made the best baked goods in town, their subs and sandwiches are made with their own homemade buns and bread. The gentleman who owns it had worked for the previous owners for many years, so he been able to carry on their tradition of excellent quality.

Excellent bakery. Try the fruit bars !

Very friendly staff, amazing cakes, pies and squares. Really good bread and rolls.

Bacon sub. This isnt a joke. I didnt see any bacon. I opened it up and still didnt see any. I moved a thin slice of cheese and found two scrawny pieces of bacon. I honestly thought it was a veggie sub. Also prices are ridiculous. 14.00 for the worst sub I've had in years. Hard to support non franchise restaurants when this is their best effort.

Great sandwich made from fresh baked bread. Fast and friendly service. Prices are good.

Great Mac n cheese.

Good food at reasonable prices .Good raspberry pie

(Translated) Good choice of pastries, buns and bread. Peanut butter balls are just Wow! Excellent service! (Original) Bon choix de pâtisseries, brioches et de pain. Les boules au beurre d'arachides sont juste Wow! Excellent service!

Great place for breakfast, lunch or afternoon treats! Great breakfast sandwiches, daily deal lunch specials and specialty holiday treats! Love to get bunny cookies for Easter, turkey cupcakes for Thanksgiving and Christmas tree cupcakes for Christmas!

Horrendously slow service, not personable employees and marginal sandwiches.

Over priced Croissants are getting smaller and cost more???

Unfortunately not enough staff on hand especially with the street event going on

Their take-out sandwiches are awesome.Had the cicken salad on dark rye.OUTSTANDING.

We bought 7 different items from the bakery. None of them were good. Some were only ok, Some were not good enough to keep eating. Total disapointment. The cookies to me, were such a waste of money, Minimal flavour and so crumby and dry. The lady that helped us was quite nice and very nice of her to explain what each item was....they don't have any signs letting you know what type the cookies or squares are. We won't be visiting again.

Good place to eat and great place to take home fresh baked goods.

Great smoked meat sandwich

Good service is a little slow but good

Tait's is a wonderful company that has been operating in Brockville at this location for many many years now. And the reason they've been around so long is because they're SO damn good! From the fresh sandwiches and soups to the baked goods and the homemade prepared dinners, these guys will rock your tastebuds back to REAL homemade food. ????

Exactly what I was craving. Their subs are the best!

Tastes like home =)

Great food, awesome pastries, amazing bakery! Try the bacon-mozza sub, you won't regret it!

Great food

I am truly appalled that an employee of Tait's had the audacity to suggest my disabled daughter never leave home because she cannot wear a mask. That is horrible customer service, and not serving her is a human rights violation. No accommodation was offered; just shrieking that the employees' lives were in danger. Her rights do not end because an employee has an irrational fear. Yes, irrational. We are in a pandemic, but that is because covid is highly contagious; not because it has a high mortality rate. Furthermore, she nor her father are sick. Asymptomatic people do not spread disease. Look it up. How will you be addressing this gross misconduct on behalf of your employee?
