Will never go back. Went at 2 in the afternoon. Food was horrible, potatoes not cooked. Waitress didn't apologize just made the excuse that because it was near closing they had to make new and likely rushed it. Should have told us that when we entered we would have gone somewhere else. Guy sat in front of till reviewing security camera footage of kitchen staff with monitor towards us.

Tried the new breakfast place in town. Franchised Sunset Grill in West Ridge this am. It was busy. They could have used a few more servers. The staff we’re extremely friendly and went out of their way to answer any questions about menu. Coffee is house brand appears to be Brazilian. We had 3 small eggs over easy sausage turkey bacon and home fries rye toast. Wasn’t super hot and Rye was tasteless. But the homefries were awesome. Turkey bacon is from Haders. It’s quite salty compared to Wimpys. The sausage is GFS and tasty and moist. Yes I said Moist. Clean and accessible washrooms. Very bright. No music. I would go back.

Nice, comfortable atmosphere just like many of the other Sunset Grill restaurants. Our server was nice and ensured my coffee was always topped up. Our meals arrived quickly. 2 of 3 poached eggs were overdone. Home fries, scrambled eggs, pancakes and sausages were fine. We felt rushed to leave after our meal was done, but it was understandable as there was a lineup right out the door. Tip is to come early to beat the line up as we did.

Hi. First time to your restaurant. I found the bacon chewy and salty????. The potato's where slightly tough and only warmish. There was a taste to the food that stayed on your tongue. It might be with what you cook it in!! (Oil I don't know).. the place its self is very nice , clean,and nice staff. Love your coffee..☕ I might try something else next time.. thanks ????????????

As i watch the TWO staff members work seemlessly together serving an always steady pace of customers, it has impressed me to complement them the best way i know how. Let’s write a review from the frontlines. The server, from what I have observed is doing the duty of now 4 different employees. Greeting, waitressing, cleanup, sanitizing. She explained that the business is not sure how the restrictions work with serving staff. The cook, someone who hasn’t stopped working since I arrived, is a machine. Thank you! The meal was delicious and arrived faster than I expected. 3 eggs and sausage. Everything is exactly how it was asked. The waitress is positive and polite. I enjoy my meal. Another round of coffee. That’s 5 jobs this one person is doing. The cook continues with the discipline of a master. Above the meal prep area face 3 screens which to the unknowing eye may represent airline departure and arrival information. The green and red flashing text boxes on the background of black with white letters easily gets across the point that these two are very busy. The system these two have was described by the server as “Organized Choas”……. I think Poetry is Motion is a far more appropriate explanation for the professionalism and service these two provide. This is the true frontlines of these current times. We have all been locked up and now we face an almost unquenchable thrust for human interaction and experience. Everyone in the restaurant is polite as well. Let’s not forget to be our best selves in these chaotic times. Thank you to these two people for everything you do. Look forward to seeing you again.

My friend and I just left literally 5 mins ago and THE WHOLE EXPERIENCE WAS A 10/10!!!!! Ladies serving were absolutely the nicest we’ve encountered, and the cooks did a great job serving us in no time and delicious!!!! We had the eggs benedict and it was the cheapest you’ll ever see. Not expensive AT ALL! Perfect for all budgets. Never had to wait to ask for anything if needed and very impressed with their social distancing regulations. Will be coming super frequently!!! ???? My experience at the Orillia location was not good. Since I have a lot of dietary restrictions it's difficult to find something that I can actually eat, which is not the fault of the restaurant at all. However, the server was extremely rude and very impatient. She had the worst attitude, never smiled once from the time we walked in. When I asked her what kind of flour is in their gluten free bread she was snarky and condescending. Then I had to return my order as I discovered when it was placed in front of me that it had ingredients that I couldn't eat. (those ingredients were not listed on the menu so it was an honest misunderstanding) The server asked me if I wanted chicken instead but I declined. I tried to explain that I don't eat meat but she was getting very impatient and annoyed and kept asking me why I didn't want the chicken.. I was starting to feel really bad and it was getting complicated and embarassing so I politely told her I'm just going to pass on a meal today. She said "What? You're going to pass?" She got very exasperated and walked away with a snarky O-Kaaaayyy. My husband and I couldn't believe it. I understand they probably don't get customers with special dietary needs like myself, but her attitude was ridiculous. Very impatient and unfriendly lady.

I questioned why and was told they they had a simple order? In fairness to the waitress, she was alone and taking orders, serving and working the till. We won't be returning there.

If they can't tolerate wearing a mask from the doorway to a table they should not put themselves and others at risk. We all need to keep each other safe!

Fresh and made right in front of you while its all day! This last till 3pm, they take public health very seriously so you dont need to worry about bringing the wife and kids to enjoy a nice breakfast. Wide variety on there menu and the take out options are just as good even if you dont want to sit in. Friendly service, priced decently. Definitely recommend ????

Breakfast was great, especially the french toast, I ate a French Connection. However since I walked in till I walked out, the table cleaner gave me a very serious angry look, the entire time while I enjoyed my meal my friends continued to point out that he was eyeing us down angrily making us feel uncomfortable while eating. He was also was wearing a hat while working which seemed a little unprofessional. Might eat here again but felt really uncomfortable.

The food is very good here with nice size portions. They use real potatoes instead of frozen cheap potatoes most diners have gone with. The pancakes tastes home made and they give us the choice of any flavours with our meals, rather than just plain. A real bonus was the use of real maple syrup instead of table syrup all restaurants resort to serving everyone. The only reason they lost a star was the lack of coffee with my meal. They have mini cups and I only got 1 refill near the end of my meal.

Went for breakfast midweek in late July 2021. Restaurants in Ontario had recently resumed sit in service. I ordered the Eggs Sunset. It is a version of Eggs Benedict. The eggs are cooked on a griddle (over easy) rather than poached. The meat on the English muffin was peameal style bacon and topped with a generous serving of Hollandaise sauce, and served with home fries. The meal was great with a special mention to the home fries -- best I've had. The service was also very attentive & friendly.

Let's just say "been there done that"..it was nothing to get excited about and it was expensive for 2 fried eggs, 2 strips of bacon and a few home fries slapped on your plate..if you are looking for presentation you won't find it there! If i could give this no stars thats what this establishment would have gotten. My omelette was burnt and when I asked the waitress why she said because it was made with egg whites lol. My bacon was over cooked and cold the potatoes were still raw and I asked for lightly toasted bread which came out with two light pieces on top to cover up the burnt bread underneath like I wouldn't notice. This is a breakfast place the easiest meal to cook and they couldn't get it right. They never apologized nor tried to correct any of it.

Had an absolutely delicious meal here! Had hours to kill in Brockville one day and this was suggested as spot for brunch. The food was delicious, the kitchen was quick, the staff was friendly and the place was very clean. They also services me the coldest can of pop…I ended up drinking two because of how refreshing it was! They were extremely safe with COVID-19 measures, which I appreciated. Highly recommend!

went in on a weekend , wasnt busy. coffee was never topped up (not that it tasted good..) , our server wasnt attentive. order wasnt correct but the waitress never once came over to ask how it was until we were ready to go. over priced and the quality was absolutely atrocious. potatoes were horrible , grainy and tasted freezer burnt. hair on our potatoes. i would rather go somewhere that people enjoy their jobs and know what quality food is. complete waste of time and money , regret even trying it. 0 stars

Disappointed with the "breakfast special gimmick" asked waitress about it and she said it came with choice of meat. The menu in front of me offered bacon (4) or sausage (4) or you could choose both bacon(2) and sausage (2) all for same price. I chose the latter, and got charged the $10.49 instead of the $6.99. I was told the breakfast special only came with 2 pieces of meat not 4. I was not told this, so I paid $3.50 for 2 pieces of meat. Not impressed. Food was decent however.

When we were seated - quickly, the waitress was very quick on service. It was like it was busy and had to get us done. It wasn't that busy. Wow, she rushed us right through. Brought the bill and said no rush. Was really not impressed.

Refused at the door because of masks exemption. Staff seems nice, they wanted to serve us but owner over the phone said no. One even followed us outside & ask to come see her boss later to explain to him the regulations. The place was quiet, only two tables. Lady from the kitchen & two waitresses, were sorry for the management decision & said they wanted to serve us. The way they were talking to us politely, looks like they don't approve of the management decision

Pretty disappointed both times I’ve been to sunset grill in brockville. The first time we went to order online and it said they were closed even though they were open. We went through to place our entire huge order, and right at the end it wouldn’t go through so that was annoying. At the end, it gave us a total, around 60$ for our breakfasts, which is what we assumed the total would be. We then called to place our order and i sent my boyfriend in to get the food. When he picked it up the total was well over 80$ And they would not explain why the prices on the website were so much less then what the actual charges were. The food was mediocre for 68$ and all we got were two breakfasts, a small kids meal, and some cheesecake French toast. The French toast was soggy and disgusting and the whip cream was melted and in a puddle. Nonetheless we tried again today. We got two sunset super breakfasts both with sausage, again the online ordering would not go through and the prices were different when we got to to the store. When we got home with the food we were shocked to discover we paid 30$ (Plus a good tip) for such little portions AND both our meals were wrong as we both had ordered only sausage. It’s like they ran out and decided to substitute with bacon without even asking first. The entire meal was cold (we live not even a 2 minute drive from the restraunt so this isn’t acceptable) One measley small scoop of undercooked has browns, and three slimy eggs. With unappealing bacon (we don’t like bacon that’s why we wanted sausage). The only thing edible was the pancakes, and were were shocked to find out it cost an extra 3.50$ for syrup, so we just used our own from home. Even more shocking was the fact that added two pieces of toast would cost an extra THREE DOLLARS? How can anyone sleep at night charging that when some FULL LOAVES of bread don’t even cost that much. It’s shameful. Needless to say we will not be trying sunset grill ever again. It’s completely overpriced for the portions and service you get

Greeting, checking id and Covid passports, getting phone numbers,taking and delivering orders and all efficiently and with a very pleasing and professional manner.It was very busy and there was absolutely no hold up. I wish we had got her name so to the tall,lovely, fair haired lady -if you read this and were working Monday Oct 25 in Orillia-they are very lucky to have you!These seniors really enjoyed our visit.Kudos to the chef too who kept the meals coming????

I will never go back to sunset Grill in Orillia as their is 2 people working there and no manager!,20 people were their and I feel so sorry for the 1 waitress and 1 cook the I waitress had to look at people I'd ,seat them bring coffee then take their order,bring their order refill their coffee,take their money then sanitize there table ,we switch table to another as their was not enough room to sit for a person sitting at next table,what happened to 6 feet? I have been there a few times each time the experience is different. The staff are friendly and helpful, some education on food allergies for the staff is needed, such as gluten and milk, there are things that contain these items and when you ask, " does it have it", they do not know the answer. For the most part they are great at their jobs.

My husband and I visited yesterday about lunchtime, seated promptly, offered coffee and placed our order. We waited , were offered a scond cup of coffee, waited some more, offered a third cup of coffee and waited still. When our waitress brought the plates to the couple beside us who had just come in minutes before she finally looked at us and said, somethings not right. She came back and apologized for the wait, telling us our order had been sitting in the computer and hadnt been processed, but she had put it in now. So, really we were forgotten...So we waited some more. Delivering our plates, she told us she would talk to the manager about compensating us for the error. Once finished, she called to us to just go up to the cashier whenever we were ready. We were a little surprised that was it and I think she noticed. She then came up and said the manager told her she could offer us a free order of pancakes on our next visit. WE HAD JUST ORDERED 2 GLUTEN FREE MEALS!!! When I reminded her of this she said, well you can have a free coffee next time. So thanks for nothing! Not a very good beginning as far as customer service goes... Thanks for your response but at the time there was certainly no mention of monetary discount, even after I said we couldnt use the free pancake offer on a next visit. For just opening it is amazing to see the quality of the food being so fantastic! Congratulations. My only recommendation is to make sure you don't forget to greet the tables in the corner in a timely fashion. Otherwise everything was really well done. Thank You! The entire family loved it.

Despite the half filled dinning room the service was horrible. Too slow didn't clean our table. 20m wait out front 10 of those minutes tables were available. Sit down 15m wait just to get coffee there is 6 maybe 7 tables. Never brought me more coffee even when I asked and 68$ for 3 people wow never ever will I come to this place ever!

very disappointed, ordered tuna, the menu said white albacore, it was yellow skipjack, bread was toasted, when I asked for plain, no mayo and about a tablespoon of tuna in whole sandwich. To compensate for the little bit of tuna, they threw on hard tomato slices and wilted lettuce. Not impressed, over 9.00 for a lousy sandwich, but the service was good. Went there several times before Covid, won't be going back.

I’ve read some of these reviews and some are disheartening. I frequent the Sunset Grill in Brockville on a regular basis, why? They have amazing food, fresh, hot and delicious and the service is amazing! You always feel welcome at the Sunset Grill! I’ve done takeout many times as well and I can tell you the portions are huge! I can never finish my plate nor takeout and love having the left overs. The Sunset Grill Brockville is my favorite breakfast in town. Make sure you don’t miss out on the ultimate dining experience.

Wowza this place is expensive and right besides Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen. Mediocre food and blah service clean and covid19 protocol strict restaurant although I seen a customer use the bathroom. I wouldn't recommend eating here the hash browns are soggy, the sausages are cold, order came incomplete. Don't waste your time many other great delicious restaurants near by within walking distance.

Yesterday (Jan 15, 2019) my wife and I dropped into the Sunset Grill for a little lunch. After we entered the place, it took a moment for a server to notice us. This wasn't an issue because the place was hopping. For me that's a good sign, considering there are a lot of other places to go and eat. Seated with coffee in hand, we looked at the menu trying to decide what to have. We were presented with a selection of dishes that was plenty. Heck, they even go so far as having vegan selections, if you wanted to go that route. My wife had a stack of pancakes while I had a toasted western with oven made home fries. And yes, the food was good. The service time from order to plate was reasonable because they prepare everything fresh for each order. There are no re-fried home fries here, thank you very much. Lunch done, I went up to pay the piper as it were. While at the cash, chatted with our server. It's nice to chat with folks who enjoy what they do. Having dealt with "the great unwashed public" in my previous job I know how tiresome that can be. Bill paid, we were outbound for our next adventure. Will we return to the Sunset Grill? Well, the food and service were good and our meal didn't cost an arm and a leg... so ya, we'll be back.

Highly recommend to anyone going to brockville to go to sunset grill for brunch or breakfast. The staff is so friendly and attentive, i take my omelette in a very specific way and i explained that to the staff and my order was exactly what i wanted. The management is wonderful. The place is clean and they are following all the safety protocols. Masks are worn by all the staff and management and even the customers. I saw a review that there are exemptions in canada for not wearing masks but i think for the safety of others client the management took the best decision. These are critical times and we all have to follow the rules for ours and others safety. Because of how sunset grill brockville management's way of handling the covid situation, i felt safe to take my kids there to eat. Hats off to the whole team of sunset grill brockville. I will visit again for sure !!! Thank you for the wonderful service.

My sister and I came for brunch and it was quite lovely to dine in their makeshift patio. It serves all day breakfast so that's what we had. My sister had a mushroom omelet and loved it. I had an egg with peameal bacon with a side of guacamole. The only thing I didn't like was the guacamole. It was just masked avocado with garlic powder. Not impressed. Overall I enjoyed my breakfast and the ability to dine out again.

Just sat waiting for a 30 minutes, without being even acknowledged by the waitress or any other staff, other than the guy who showed us to a table. She wasn’t taking orders or serving people food, she was stocking the fridge, refilling coffees and wiping down tables (all things that need to be done, but maybe after orders have been taken). We ended up leaving as the waitress decided to take the order of the people who showed up 25 minutes after us. It’s not like we weren’t noticed, we had a hungry grumpy 2 year old.

We’ve always enjoyed Sunset Grill. They make tasty home fries, their ingredients seem fresh and they’ve always made a great eggs Benedict or eggs Florentine which is my go to breakfast choice. However, I’m not sure we’ll be choosing Sunset Grill again after yesterday. On my birthday, during quarantine we decided to order both breakfast and dinner starting our day off with Sunset Grill because they’ve been consistently good in the past. We used SkipTheDishes and when our food arrived we sadly noticed that my eggs Florentine weren’t poached eggs, they were fried. I called the restaurant and spoke to the manager who told me I should have chosen the “poached option when ordering”. I told him that no such option existed and why would one? It’s eggs Florentine, poached eggs is how you make them. He then told me I should have asked for it in the note section while ordering. This also sounded ridiculous to me since I’ve ordered eggs Florentine countless times at Sunset Grill before and it was always cooked properly. The manager did kindly tell me he’d give us a free breakfast next time we went, however it was hard to believe since he didn’t ask how to spell my name or anything. I was pretty upset so my fiancé called back and asked the manager if he would make my breakfast again and we’d just go pick it up now. The manager agreed and we finally got the right breakfast. However, by the time we got home my finance's breakfast was no longer warm and going to pick up the corrected food had completely defeated the purpose of ordering from SkipTheDishes. All in all, the experience wasn’t great and we won’t be choosing them again especially if we’re paying for delivery but then have to go to the restaurant ourselves anyway. Very upset with the sudden lack of consistency of their product.

BEst breakfast for a long time. home fries better than anywhere else. service was quick - there were long lines, for people for the breakfast special, (probably due to the social distancing of seats) - so we went and did other things then came back.
