I was skeptical about them having the "best cinnamon buns in the city" but now I am searching for someone (anyone) who's better. A bun paired with their "pretty good" coffee is all you need before exploring the area. They have 2 tables that you can sit inside at but they mostly do grab-and-go. 2 people are allowed in at a time and, with their demand, there is usually a line - but the wait is worth it.

Amazing cinnamon roll, honestly the best in Vancouver and recommend to all. Their coffee is Strong, very very strong and at times can give me an instant headache so have passed on the coffee and just popped in for the cinnamon roll last few months. A snug little place to sit down in the winter months with a treat and a book or finish off some emails.

Upon visiting this location I found the cinnamon buns to be bready and not as gooey as they once were. A real let down. What's more is they have gone cash less, which means they will not accept cash for payment. The atmosphere is good enough for a coffee. Needing a key for the restroom is absolutely gross, so maybe becoming "modern" could extend to that area as well.

We give this place a solid 6/5 -- it's that amazing! You cannot deny the gooey cinnamon goodness and how much happiness it will bring you. Best to go to the store and have your bun fresh. It's not the same experience buying it from other cafes as they aren't as fresh. Very excited for the new location on Commercial Drive to open.

They claim to have the world's best cinnamon buns and I have no grounds on which to disagree! Get one of these warm iced beauties and it's hard to think how they *could* be better, even. The people are really friendly and the coffee, while pretty pricey and slow to arrive (albeit not by local standards) is very good - flavorful but not bitter. Thoroughly recommended!

The best cinnamon buns in Vancouver. If you have friends that love cinnamon buns this place is a must. A few cafes in town also serve their cinnamon buns. No eggs on them either. Nice, soft, goey cinnamon. They used to make mini ones but I guess everyone just wants the large ones!

Alongside, they always have 2 kinds of drip brewed for coffee drinkers (and refills are only a buck) with a variety of sweetener and whitener options for those with sugar or dairy stipulations, and the typical coffee shop menu of espresso drinks. As for other foods, I've been coming here for a decade and I honestly have no idea what other foods they might serve - the cinnamon buns are so good I've never considered getting anything else! I'm guessing they might do muffins or sandwiches or something? Believe me, once you smell the cinnamon buns, any other foods will be driven from your mind. Oh, and the staff are fantastic to boot.

Indeed the best cinnamon bun I've had in this area. One of their biggest features is that they'd heat up the bun with a thick layer of icing that tastes not overwhelming. And the cinnamon spices integrate well with the other ingredients. Because the sitting area is not spacey, it's sort of embarrassing to sit close to the next table, and also inconvenient to stand up and leave for cutlery. Although there's large likelihood you cannot find a quiet corner to get your work done, it's definitely worthwhile to be there simply for food. Will come back to try their newly-released smoothies.

Modified 2019/11/25: they have started accepting cash again, so I'll revert my review to 5/5 for the cinnamon buns which really are spectacular. Our family used to be regular customers, but they have stopped accepting cash. I understand they may want to keep out the homeless and kids whose parents won't give them cards (including mine), but insisting on collecting our spending information isn't a good solution. There's a nice little bakery 1/2 a block away along Broadway, and more farther along - I suggest you try those instead.

The best cinnamon buns in Vancouver for as long as I can remember. Sticky, sweet, iced to perfection. Eating one always takes me back to when I was a kid and used to stop in after early morning swim practice and proceed to inhale one (or two) of these immaculate pastries. The coffee is good too. I had my once a year holiday peppermint mocha here the other day to go with a bun and it was excellent.

The cinnamon buns are great and so was the coffee. Ran past frequently on my Sunday morning runs with a friend always smelled the awesome aroma coming from this place. We finally ended a run nearby and went in.. the taste was just as good as the aroma. The staff was also pleasant and kind.

Visited Grounds for Coffee after reading that they had the best cinnamon buns in town. Definitely was not disappointed. The buns had just the right amount of sweetness and just the right amount of cinnamon. I had been hoping that the icing was going to be a cream cheese icing, but it wasn't. It is still really good. Since the cinnamon bun itself isn't too sweet having that sweet icing is really nice. The coffees were great. Rich and flavour, the macchiato was the best at complimenting the bun as it didn't combat all that sweetness. I'll be back, and probably leave with a half dozen of buns. Edit: Adding a quick edit to my review after response from cafe. The icing IS cream cheese! I guess this means I'll just have to come back and buy a dozen next time!!

Way too sweet and dripping in oil. Both with and without icing buns are too sweet. The top is crunchy and I don’t like that. I came in the afternoon and I feel the buns were not fresh enough. There are dense and crunchy parts in the bun and less dense parts. The bun looks thick on the outside but in reality when you unroll the spiral the middle parts are very thin and not airy. I prefer JJ Bean because their bun is softer, more fluffy and less oily. Moreover, the tables were not cleaned up fast and there was a cup and a plate leftover on my table. It’s also hard to find the wifi password. Ask for what boxes you want upon ordering because if you don’t, they charge you for extra boxes. Last but not least, some buns have more icing than others.

I always have a good experience here. It's my usual pre-work stop in the mornings. The atmosphere is warm and inviting. There's great staff and service. The cinnamon buns are made in house and very often fresh and gooey. It also helps that the 99 B-Line bus stop is five steps away.

Be prepared to line up, these literally sell like hot cakes (pun intended) To be fair, I'd agree and say these are the best cinnamon buns in Vancouver. I've never been brave enough to risk the season promotions, a plain Cinnamon bun with no icing is my deadly weapon of choice. A little gem just off Alma near Kits beach and West 4th area makes this a must stop for a bun and coffee. The house dark roast is also extremely rich and delicious coffee. The OG.. this joint is so much nicer than the new place on Commercial and has more character. Top that off with compostable cutlery, friendly staff and a chilled out vibe with the delicious smell of dough in the air makes this a dream.

I loved their breakfast sandwich and matcha latte (cinnamon buns are good too of course). The atmosphere is nice and cozy too. Major downside however is the lack of sustainable cutlery and packaging. Even though food was for here, there's nothing but plastic cutlery available and the smoothie came in a plastic container with a lid and straw... Literally two handfuls of garbage/stuff to recycle after every meal. Seems unreasonable... In 2018?

In the beginning I was thinking that the best cinnamon rolls were in IK2GO (Italian Kitchen to Go, Burrard St. Downtown) but this ones are better. The downfall comes from the spineless staff who failed to acknowledge or instruct the woman who strolled in without a mask and happily leaned over the counter to give her order, and continue to stand really close to other people waiting for their order. I totally agree with the title of the best cinnamon bun in the world. I was just walking by and I smelled the perfection in the air. I DIDN'T KNOW them, neither what I would find inside. I trusted my nose and ordered the cinnamon bun and a coffee. I had a blast eating it. I totally recommend trying it. Also buy an extra and take it home. You will regret if you don't do it. The cinnamon bun doesn't have too strong flavor of cinnamon and not too sweet also. It's good combination with a cup of coffee.

I keep seeing reviews and testimonials about Grounds serving the best cinnamon buns in Vancouver, so I've been wanting to try it for a while. I finally had the opportunity to try one because of my recent overpowering craving for cinnamon buns. I had cinnamon buns from a few places in the past week, so my review of Grounds' buns will be compared to buns from Cartems at Main St. and Cinnzeo at Metrotown. Considering the hype, I was disappointed with the buns. I personally liked Cartems and Cinnzeo's buns much more because theyre much more fluffy and soft. The buns I got from Grounds buns weren't fluffy. They were also too sweet and I'm quite tolerant to sweet foods. Though the bun I got from Cinnzeo tasted undercooked at the very centre, the rest of it was so very soft and the frosting was great. Grounds has the best price for their cinnamon buns though! $4 per bun and $14 for 4 buns. There are other prices for larger quantities as well. I also got a London Fog and that was okay, but not frothy enough for my personal preference. It's all personal preference, but I wouldn't come back because it's not fluffy and soft, too sweet, and the location is quite far from where I live by transit. The place has plugs for laptops and wifi so its great for school work. Might not be the best ppace if you need to concentrate because it can be quite loud. They get pretty busy starting late morning/noon time. I was there for a few hrs working on my assignment and couldnt concentrate even with headphones on.

Great cinnamon buns. Fresh, probably the best in Vancouver. However, the seating is cramped, which makes this a pretty uncomfortable place. People expect you to leave and make way for them, which isn’t what a Cafe is for. Free wifi is a bonus. They need to expand to a bigger location or reduce seating to make it less cramped.

A marvelous place! I have been to at least 30 coffee shops in the past six months, and this place absolutely kills it. The sheer fragrance of that place can be smelled at the very bus stop nearby. They do all manner of coffee, latte and mocha well (with many flavour variations), but they ALSO do frappes better than any of the common franchises. And, on top of all that, they have excellent cinnamon buns if you're looking for something desserty. A true asset to point grey.

The coffee here is very good (and I’m picky). I love that they’re open when everyone else is closed too. However one of their servers needs to change her attitude. She too quick to jump at you for the rules and barks them at you before even getting into the place. First it was the masks then the dog coming in. Rules are fine but please soften your approach!

Cinnamon bun was very nice. Warm, soft and light. Didn't order icing so it wasn't too sweet. Chocolate chip cookie was also good, nice size, and was firm but not too crunchy or crumbly. Thai chicken wrap was a let down, but probably because I didn't read the description. I was expecting chicken with a Thai sauce, but in reality it was more like Thai noodles in a wrap.

Unfortunately I wasn't impressed with the cinnamon buns. There was large amounts of granular sugar on the bottom of the bun that wasn't melted that made for a gritty mouth full.

Amazing Cinnamon Buns... But cashless... What gives??? For a cinnamon bun and small coffee is less then $10. Hate that I have to pull out my credit for a purchase less then $10. Their reason is cuz they wanna improve the speed of service... but at the end of the day you'd still have to wait for the baristas to get the cinnamon bun and make the coffee.

Grounds for Coffee is a great location to stop and get a cinnamon bun along with a coffee or tea. It will be pretty packed past noon but you can still get takeaway for the cinnamon buns which are quite delectable. If you have time in the morning then this is a good place to do any work or reading.

I was told they have make the best cinnamon bun in town, drove all the way over to try it. Long line up at front even during COVID season, no street parking available, had to walk a bit distance to get my car parked. They provide the snow topping for the buns separately, but a bit challenging to pour it out from the coffee cup. The bun is a bit too sweet for me, but kids loved it. It’s always best to eat it fresh, so you better not to order too much to take home.

The food is great. They use real plates, and mugs (but can take out, too!) Place is modest, but CROWDED most of the time. Tables are tiny, some unstable, way too close to each other. You can hear everyone's conversations. Little elbow room. When someone gets up you have to squeeze yourself a little (and I am small) to let them out ???? Chairs not necessarily comfortable, but they do the trick. Their buns, and muffins definitely delish. Good customer service.

You know, it,'s coffee but really nothing terrific. I actually found it stronger than I usually like it. Had I known their coffee was that stiff I probably would have asked them to add a hot of hot water to remove the sharp taste from my drink. Don't recall the price but probably paid more for this coffee that I would normally done. I was on this side of town to attend a dance class and was earlier than I needed to be so thought I'd grab a 'good cup of coffee'. Might have been better off going across the street to Mac's and as much as I hate those wee creamers, they would have tasted much better & I would not have tossed the coffee into the gutter and been so much happier before my dance class - which has been closed (yet again) due to CoronaVirus. Oh yippee, I am officially signed up for my rabies shot, forever more to be called a darned RABIES SHOT tomorrow at Canada Place. I received my text today confirming all the other details, short sleeves and be there 5 minutes before and stay 15 minutes afterwards. Instructions included if you needed to cancel and info about a QR Code which I thought they wanted you to use your code for another magic password. Some places during CoVid have required use of a QR Code to gain entry, so I pushed the hyperlink and was taken to some Salesforce website, this happened TWICE. I didn't want to lose my booking so phone the government AGAIN. I told them what happened. Customer Service guy, said ",don't worry" that I have my booking. I told him I had to double check with them because MAYBE if I didn't use the car code I might lose my position & that if this is their magic booking system he should pass my concerns along because there will be more people like me who worry about things like this that are very important and maybe you need to get your website/text communication system checked out again ,- and maybe get afew others sent through as a ',test' just to make sure THE GOVERNMENT isn't giving innocent people a virus on their computer or phone, thanks friendly government.

I have a sweet tooth, so I LOVE getting their cinnamon buns with extra icing! The drink are usually sweet too, but you can ask for alterations, and the staff are very accommodating. The ice teas are what I buy for my friends since they are fresh and one of the less sweet items on the menu. Only reason this is not a 5 star review is that I always have to check what I ordered is what I get. Eg. Fine grind vs course ground coffee; frosting on my cinnamon bun

This is hands down one of my favorite places in Vancouver. They claim to have the best cinnamon bun and they're right! I am here almost weekly to eat one of their cinnamon buns, drink an oat milk latte, and read research papers. The staff are friendly and the store is clean. This place can get very busy, so many people get their food and coffee to go. However, if there is seating available I usually stay.

It's Grounds For Coffee - enough said. Have been coming here for years, with a couple visits to the Commercial Dr location. The cinnamon bun hype is 100% deserved. The best I've ever had, bar none. I can only have a few of these a year because otherwise I think my arteries would revolt. Outside of COVID, sitting in the worn armchair in the window and having a bun and coffee is probably one of my favourite atmospheric quintessentially Kitsilano experiences.

This is actually my favourite place. Its an iconic neighbourhood coffee shop with the best gooeyest, softest and most delectable cinnamon buns in the world. Literally the world. I’d get with icing personally but a good option is getting the icing on the side if you want more control of the sweetness. The staff are also just the kindest! So friendly and joyful. They also have really good muffins and smoothies. This is a MUST do in Vancouver

Please train your barrista your flat white is undrinkable and your mocha is not a mocha... not sure what it was but not a mocha, fortunately it was drinkable. Your cinamon buns though definately redeemed my experience. In future i will just buy your buns and skip your coffee.
