Relaxed and friendly local shop where I stop for my oat milk cappuccino before heading to the dog park with my bff (best furry friend). The peanut cookies are delish with crunchy salty peanuts on top. Well worth a visit, even if you aren't bringing a bike. They also support local businesses such as Dahlia May's Flowers by providing space for her flower CSA as a pick up/purchase location. Eco and fair trade minded as well.

Fantastic experience with the bike shop getting our winter trainer set up. Caleb is the man! I had just purchased a TacX Neo 2T and totally goofed the initial setup, Caleb very generously helped fix the setup issues, explaining everything at each step. He was very knowledgeable in bike trainer sizing and did a great job setting my wife up with her own saddle/post. My wife grabbed us coffee from the cafe during our fitting session and it was really good. 10/10 recommend coming here for any biking questions or equipment needs! Thanks again to Caleb for doing such a great job setting up our trainer.

Been twice now, plan to go more often but live a little out of the way. Initially the coffee is a little expensive, especially for Belleville, but it is very much worth it. I expected a good cup of coffee and was still quite surprised how good it is. I think the biggest sell, though, is the Bike culture they're creating. I love the shop/coffee shop idea. I've said for ages that Belleville needs more good coffee shops and more of a bike culture. These guys hit both points. Fabulous.

Where do I start? 8 months ago I came to the shop to look at a used road bike Adam had for sale.We'd never met before. I explained what I was after and rather than selling me the bike he talked me out of it. Numerous emails, texts and visits (including Caleb dropping what he was doing to help me with my other bike) later I have a shiny new Big Rove steel frame and couldn't be happier. Adam spent at least an hour with me on purchase day fitting it and making sure everything was dialed in. As Adam would say ... pure bliss. Adam , Caleb and Laura you rock. This is a cute little coffee shop near downtown Belleville they are also licensed. They have a specialty drink menu as well as food. They source a lot of the food and alcoholic beverages locally which is awesome. They have free wifi. It's an ideal place for cyclist as they service and sell bicycles. I mainly go there to get my haircut on either Thursdays or Fridays as the @travellingbarber makes a stop there on those days. Tiff is an awesome barber and I highly recommend her.

After reading all of the positive raving reviews, we were excited to come here and pick up lunch for our trip back home. The employees were so pleasant and recommended a Buddha bowl and eggplant sandwich. Unfortunately, once we decided to try our highly anticipated delicious lunch... it was inedible. The ramen noodles and pakoras were horrible and tasted like rubber. The bread tasted like plastic, the eggplant was mush.... so disappointing. I think The Brake Room is probably a fabulous place to have a coffee and get your bike serviced... perhaps even the baked goods are ok..... but the raving reviews are certainly not reflective of the quality of the food. One of the worse lunches I have had.

Was visiting some friends in Belleville and they instantly took me here to get a coffee. I can' t tell you how amazing the guys here are. Adam was really welcoming and their coffee is delicious. The time and effort they go to for procuring the right coffee is appreciated and noticed. Secondly, I had my bicycle with me and being a novice cyclist I had some questions. They took the time (almost an hour) to give me a tutorial on basic bicycle care, including a few tips on how to change a tire in a pinch etc etc. I couldn't have been more appreciative. You can tell they are truly passionate about what they do. Between their delicious coffee and their friendly environment, this place is a true gem in Belleville. I've been ranting and raving about it to all my friends who pass through ...keep up the good work !! Will definitely pass by when I come back.

They are also the best friend to your bike :) Friendly baristas will serve you very good coffee and other hot and cold drinks, sandwiches and snacks as well as beer and good foods on Friday evening in the winter months, doughnuts on Saturdays and brunch on Sundays - most of those foods and drinks are rather local and definitely delish. The owners and their employees will chat with you and will make you come back! The place is 100% children and also dog friendly.

The Brake Room is a great addition to downtown Belleville. I can't speak for their bike services, but on the coffee side they've got it going on! Great coffee; always fresh, lots of options, and always perfectly prepared. My one wish is that they start doing their own cold-brew (or even just keep a big jug of brewed coffee in the fridge) as at the moment it only comes in cans. Otherwise the place is fantastic! The staff are all very friendly and super quick and the shop itself has a nice, relaxed vibe with both inside and outside seating. Definitely recommend it to locals and for anyone visiting.

He provided 2 solutions to fix the problem as well as costs associated for each option. I decided on the option that he recommended and he went ahead with the repair. The bike was completed in a timely fashion and I'm very happy with the results. I highly recommend the Brake Room for all your bicycle repair needs.

I’d stopped into The Brake Room for their great coffee a few times before, but only recently decided I wanted to seriously upgrade my old bike. I paid a visit to the bike shop and am I ever glad I did! I’m a relative newbie to the world of more advanced bikes. Adam really took the time to find out all about what I was looking to do with a new bike (distance, terrain, what kind of trips, how much stuff I’d be carrying, etc.) and helped to direct me to a couple of different bikes that I then test rode, and found the perfect match. He also helped me out with a comprehensive bike fitting, and the rest of the team were so friendly and helpful, too. Literally no such thing as a dumb question for them, which I really appreciate. I learned so much from speaking to Adam and team. I am so pumped to hit the road with my new wheels!

Tuned my bike beautifully for a 5 day 300 km tour on rail trails between Napanee and Ottawa, including two days touring the paved system within Ottawa. Specialized tires, grips, pedals, all round clean and tune, good tire pressure recommendation. To start off.... My drink was very good. Very very good. However, I am very put off by the pricing. $7 for a beverage is even more expensive then Starbucks...... even after factoring in tax ($5.65 vs $7) and the Grande at Starbucks is larger than the medium I received. Sure, this drink was better than Starbucks, but not worth the $1.35 more and 4-6 Oz less of fluid. They state taxes and tips are included on their menu. I’m sorry, but when did tipping become mandatory? A tip is something that is voluntary, and totally dependent on the service and experience I received at that time. Lots of things deserve a tip. Some things don’t. I should be allowed to decide that for myself. A shame because the coffee was tasty..... but I won’t be returning because that policy is against my principles. A tip should never be mandatory. I worked in the service industry for 7+ years, including an espresso bar very similar to this one as my first job and I still hold this opinion. The service was friendly. The coffee was tasty. So go there and make up your own mind. Maybe you won’t care about it as much as I do but I think mandatory tipping is unethical. If a tip is mandatory then it’s no longer a tip, but part of the price.

Best coffee in Ontario. Pilot coffee from Toronto is used here. The owner Adam is very friendly and approachable. Any bike needs can be handled at this location from regular yearly maintenance to buying the right bike for you. Every staff member here makes you feel right at home. Local craft beer is available here as well as some fantastic food. Peanutbutter cookies are awesome. If you have a Tesla you can charge your car here as well. If you have not made your way in to this place you are missing out.

Being in a tight bind and needing a place to get work done, I stopped by the Brake Room hoping they could help me out. I had an important meeting I needed to participate in, and I didn’t have my Mac book charger with me so things were not looking hot. Although a long shot, I didn’t have many other options at that point and thought that as a cafe, maybe someone would be able to help me out. After telling them my predicament, I was very pleased to hear that they could aid me in my dire situation. I was told that in a few minutes, I would have charger in hand. I was extremely relieved. The owner then left on a bike, to what I presume was his own home. A few minutes later, he returned with the charger I needed. Amazing! That was an awesome experience, and I am extremely grateful for the service they provided. The experience was not to be outdone by their food and drink, which includes a very nice variety of hot drinks, craft beers and great pastries/treats. Oh, and cocktail and food on Friday nights.. definitely would recommend. Thank you Brake Room!

The building feels like an old fire station crossed with a bike repair shop and a hip drop in. I'm an occasional customer who loves your coffee but I too have waited too long for a social conversation to wind up -- and a couple of times I've walked out. Often I've been #2 in line while Adam or one of the other boys acts like #1 is the only person in the shop. No eye contact, no acknowledgement that I'm waiting. Just a pleasant, endless conversation with #1 who's happily standing by the register sipping their coffee and passing time with you. Finally when #1 gets tired of chatting about that bike ride you all went on last week and walks away, then it seems like you're surprised that someone else has been waiting. I love your coffee and yes, I enjoy everyone's good nature, but please if you're going to have a chat with #1, multitask a bit. Look over #1's shoulder and acknowledge #2 in line. Say, "Can I get a drink started for you?" And definitely -- as Peter said -- if a topic winds down, don't think up something new to talk about. If I haven't already given up, that's definitely when I'll get upset and walk out.

I love the Brake Room, the coffee, the staff, the food, the atmosphere. It is one of my favourite spots for a "coffee and writing" or "coffee and reading" session. Or a great place to sit and catch up with a friend. And the best part of it all is that this successful business is owned and operated by young people who wanted to stay and invest in and grow their own community. I haven't bought a bike from them yet, but the temptation is growing!!
