I've worked in a reputable second cup and this place has repeatedly given poor quality service and product. When they first opened I chalked it up to training just beginning. Now it's just sad. I ordered drinks that were supposed to be free because of virgin company benefits. The app was not allowing us to place the order and even after showing proof we were made to pay for our drinks. The drink I recieved was just over half full and I ordered a mint hot chocolate. I have been a huge fan and promoter of second cup but I won't go back to this location.

Always great service at this location. My only issue is that on this site it says that the place opens at 6AM which is perfect since I run through the Rideau Centre to get to work. Both mornings that I've come by around 7, the shop has been closed. Only reason why I like going here is 1- it's Canadian and 2- the vanilla latte is amazing! But if I pass by again and it isn't open, unfortunately I'll have to start going to Starbucks.

They have large variety of drinking and eatable thing in menu. They have a friendly staff and nice ambience. Earlier i used to go Toronto for second cup now its here in belleville.....❤❤❤ I like their sitting too....

Friendly staff but unfortunately it’s too small! I know it’s mostly intended for to go and you could bring it to the food court, but it would have been nice if it had more seating. Nothing more to say, it’s just like any other second cup- coffee taste great and the treats are good too

The staff are very friendly and very attentive, I would expect nothing less from any Second Cup venue. But my grip vs this particular location is that: 1. Their setup is pitifully small, it gets crowded easily if a few people were to sit down, 2. They do a poor job of keeping the tables clean, and 3. Their selection of food & pastries is very poor compared to other Second Cup locations This Second Cup is still fantastic for take-out lattés as you move thru the Rideau Centre mall, but you can readily find other places to sit and enjoy your beverage/snacks (ie. the food court, outside, etc.)

Second Cup is one of the most underrated coffee shops ever! Same fare as Starbucks at about 1/2 the price. Lots of parking, easy to get in and out of, a great cup of coffee, and more money in your pocket. I'm in ????

I love this location of Second Cup. Service is usually fast, it's not usually busy, and they have a lot of seating. Their cake slices are also consistent -- they're precut unlike some locations. Plus they offer student discounts.

Friendly staff! Loving the new addition of the pinkberry stand, which I tried today. This Second Cup seems to have the same stuff other locations have on their menu, but the seating here is very limited. Even the line up area is cramped. The pinkberry yogurt is very fresh, and the toppings didn’t taste stale (like Menchie’s toppings does). A tad expensive but higher quality frozen yogurt compared to the others in the area.

Désorganisée staff.... Long line ups..with one Barrista trying to help more than 8 people while another staff does inventory control and receiving during prime time.... Not efficient at all... They also use the same dirty wipe rag on the air-activator nozzle that ships up the Milk for Lattes etc... Non-hygienic

I love my flavored coffee in mugs. Lots of variety in your coffee-like drinks. Good sweet selection too. This has a drive-through for added convenience. Comfortable seating. Free wifi. Outlets to plug in your devices. Combined with a gas station and convenience store so it loses some of the ambiance appeal.

The cold brew was alright. The fact that such a tiny beverage is worth about three dollars and 50 cents is reasonable. The barista was freaking rude! I have just came back from my trip in Victoria and this coffee shop experience absolutely depressed me for a moment. Then I went to Starbucks and got myself a real cold brew. Now I know why I never go to second cup :).

Dirty place with rude service. It says "hand-baked locally" but everything is industrially wraped in plastic. Yes you can drink/eat here but everything is disposable like you were taking things to go. When Tim is more classy, you gotta ask yourself some questions... Oh and bilingual display would be a bare minimum.

I love second cup. It’s the last great cup of Canadian coffee. This location, however, manages to screw up every online order, and every time it is somehow our fault. The list of excuses is dizzying. As much as it pains me I think I’m taking my business to Starbucks

This is definitely the best location I'm downtown Ottawa. Uottawa has two second cups. The one in the library definitely leaves something to be desired and the one on the corner of Cumberland and Laurier I believe never has enough seating. This location is very close to campus, has a full menu including syrups and coffee beans to buy in retail. This is one of my go to coffee shops for my daily cup of coffee.

so, I think your barista needs a new job. I had been there before and she was rude to me but I guess I didn't pay attention to it. Today I wanted a chai latte and asked her if almond milk was good with it, she replied in a very rude way "i dont know, i dont drink it" so I said "you don't know?" and she replied "no" so I told her I wasnt ordering anything, thank you and left. I'm obviously never going back to this location. Hire decent people please

Customer service was very poor two employees where to busy discussing there personal life to serve customers after 6 mins left. On second occasion they couldn't make certain frappes etc didn't have ingredients nor ice. Friend dragged me in recently the staff changed service was alot better. Tried one of there new hot chocolate flavors besides it being to sweet was a very good drink. Wish is was open later like it use to be but due to economy etc closes earlier

This place is a joke! Buy a coffee and the debit machine adds a tip automatically!! Beware..also I bought a car wash from esso and they told me it was an already used code and refused to do anything about it...avoid these places like the plague!! A perfect example of city people opening a business in a small town and trying to ream locals...NEVER AGAIN!!

Second cup used to be a favourite cafe for me TA some point a while ago and they keep on deteriorating in terms of quality and service. I expect for a coffee shop that charges 5 to 7$ for a drink to exchange a drink if it wasn't satisfactory, free of charge. That was not the case apparently at second cup Rideau today even after I have explained that that was how other second cups usually do, similar to other coffee shops like bridgehead and Starbucks!! Disappointing.

So I normally order from this location alot considering I work in the mall and mobile ordering is so easy. Normally the workers there are absolutely fantastic and so pleasent, which sucks to say today was 100% not the case. I went to the mobile order section and waited 10 minutes for the young girl to even notice me. When she did she told me she didn't have my order ready because one item they didn't have. So I didnt mind just taking my other item but she didnt even start on that item. So while she was extremely rude telling me she was the only worker here and nothing else I can do but either come back or get two of what I ordered. I didnt mind getting two of what I ordered but I then had to wait 5 more minutes cause she didn't start previously. She gave me alot of attitude and when my order was done she threw it on the counter and walked away from me. Absolutely worst customer service I've had from this place. I highly consider her getting retrained on just even kindness at this point. Super disappointing cause again the other workers are normally fantastic.

The WORST service with the Worst attitude. The barista was rude, didn’t get my order correct and then didn’t fix it! I ended up walking out have paid or something I never received and he didn’t even feel an ounce of remorse. I will never go there again. There’s a reason that Starbucks is doing so much better!!!!!! THE WORST MOCHA EVER. I normally love second cups coffee but this location is the disgusting. The barista Sophia, was rude and had terrible customer service. When I called her to complain, she didn't care and basically hung up on my face. The mocha tasted like water, highly don't recommend.

Horrible customer services I order $71 worth of coffee and food and when I received it I was missing 2 drinks and all the food, there was no ice in the iced drinks, no straws, and when I went in to ask if I could get what I ordered I was told no it’s not their fault it’s door dashes( which it is) but they told me they couldn’t rectify the situation. So instead of making a customer happy they decided to loose business. I will not be buying from them again way to loose a customer.

I used to like Second Cup but I don't go there any more. The Second Cup at CF Rideau Centre uses only paper cups. The one at Bayshore Shopping Mall does offer porcelain cups. But beware though they charge you $1.00 for hot water!
