When we lived in Bathurst we LOVED going to this restaurant. It was one of our favorite places to go to eat. This time fell terribly short. The wait was long, the food was just "ok", but OVER PRICED for what we got. The younger lady that waited on us was probabaly the only highlight of coming here. The other waitress (older lady) seemed to be walking around in a constant state of agitation. This was NOT the visit we were used to or was expecting. We don't visit Bathurst as often as we would like, but don't know that we will be rushing back to Papa Joe & Evy's anytime soon.

Our first time there and we were very disappointed! Striploin steak dinner with choice of potato or rice, so I opted for rice, big mistake. My steak was ordered medium, the cook cut my steak to check it and that is a no no, then served it and the rice was tougher than the steak!!! Very disappointed.

Terrible service. Took an hour to receive our food. Once we received the food it was boxed fish you’d buy at Walmart. It was burnt and the taste was so bad their grease needs to be changed. Rotisserie chicken is on the menu. There’s no such thing here. It’s oven baked chicken with simply salt and pepper. No seasoning at all and bland. I would never recommend or ever come back.

A local Family Restaurant in Bathurst, New Brunswick. Their all day breakfast has a fantastic selection. I had the eggs benedict with a side of extra ham. More traditional breakfast offerings come with their toast, made from their famous bread. If you have a big appetite there is a big breakfast that includes every type of meat, cretton, and pancakes. Not for the faint of heart. Next time, I will try a traditional breakfast and taste this bread myself. Highly recommended!

Best hot chicken sandwich I've ever had. Good quality for every part. Chicken was tasty, juicy, and tender. The white bread soft but not lacking flavour or texture. But what really brought it together was the gravy - light brown, creamy, not too salty, savoury (chicken) gravy. Served with excellent fries. Crispy on the outside, light and fluffy potato inside. It's hard to describe a good fry beyond that, but they were downright good. Usually I don't eat coleslaw but I finished my little pot of that too. I was in just after the lunch rush on a midweek afternoon. Service was still quick, and my server was incredibly friendly.

We had a very poor experience here this last time. Only 1 waitress at such a busy time with every table that was available being full. They couldn't seat more then 1 table of 5 so 2 of our guests had to leave. The waitress was very blunt and almost rude when explaining their Covid rules! If our mother hadn't already received her breakfast prior to our arrival we would have left with our other 2 guests!!! She was too rushed and obviously overwhelmed with having to serve everyone by herself. Very poorly managed!! Won't be going back. ????????

The atmosphere is very cozy and warm, the staff are wonderful and friendly and the food, well, the food is just like Momma's. So good and homemade, hot hamburg, an actual beef patty not a frozen one.
