As of day this business gets a score of 4.4 over 5 and the rating has been based on 127 reviews.
As you can see the average of ratings is very good, and it is founded on a very large number of feddbacks, so we may say that the rating is quite reliable. If people have bothered to leave their score when they are satisfied with the service, is that it works.
You know that we don't usually bother to write evaluations when these are good and we usually do it only if we have had a problem or issue...

Great pastries and sweets!
Appreciate any vegan restaurants fighting to stay open during tough times, but this food really wasn't worth it. Spent about $60 on assorted items that weren't very tasty or worth the price for what you got. Also was a hair molded into my tofu nuggets which was a big turn off, but that was one of the last things I'd tried. Some of the baked goods tasted good but weren't worth the price tag.
I had their Big Mac panzo omg sooooo good
Nice staff who was very considerate of my allergies and checked ingredients of things I bought. Thank you.
First time having vegan food and the bean burger was actually really good. Although a little disappointed.. the place was a bit hard to find (the sign should be bigger or a diff colour). The cashier literally had no knowledge of any of the food I was asking about and has basically only tried one thing on the menu (pretty sure she’s not vegan) but she was super sweet. I really went there to try their cauliflower wings but they refused to cook a batch for me and told me to take the ones in the fridge and reheat them at home ??? Why would I pay $20 to do that lol! I was visiting Barrie and staying at a local hotel .. so $20 for microwaved food? They said they make a batch in the morning and put it in the fridge smfh .. I’m sorry but your Instagram which I been following for almost 2 years seems totally different from your actual store ! I paid $30 for bean burger combo (just includes fries no drink lol) and a dolly bar .. gave them a $3 tip smfh
Customer service at Barrie location needs to be improved. After my father suffered a burn at this location we informed the owner who proceeded to gaslight us over instagram. Did not appreciate the lack of compassion they had for a customer who burned themselves due to their negligence and seemed to have no concern to prevent the situation from happening in the future.
Vegan or not (and I'm not), those were some of the best tacos I've ever had.
The ambiance and food here is very good, however a little on the expensive side.
Amazing sweets for this chick who cannot tolerate gluten and dairy. The lunches and frozen dinners are also incredible. Can't make a trip to Barrie without visiting. Love it!
I absolutely adore the food here. Some of the best vegan food I've ever had. My only complaint is the high price tag. Other than that it's brilliant.
Whenever I need to eat my gluten-free, dairy-free emotions, and whenever I'm getting my hair done around the corner by Jodie at Hidden Beauty, I always stop by the Vegan Pantry for a treat. Yes, the prices are high, but know that you won't find this quality at just any health foods store, whole foods store, farmers' market or even the specialty aisle at any grocery store! Places like this are few a far between, totally worth every penny for this finger-licking goodness!!!
Can't believe this place exists in Barrie! So many delicious desserts, and I'll have to come back to try their take-out and frozen meals. Only complaint: no prices displayed.
Wonderful staff, excellent products, doing a great job with Covid 19 precautions! Highly recommended :-)
Great visit today! Delicious latte and banana cake, we will be back to try more of the menu. Very nice and friendly staff, we enjoyed our visit from start to finish.
Great baked goods !
Wow this is now my favourite place to eat! I got the Big Mac fries and they were amazing! They have the best cheese I have ever had.
I'm not a vegan so don't write off this store the food is really good , store only allows so many people in so you may have to wait if you just drop in . Prices are comparable to most vegan specialty store you will pay a little bit more compared to non vegan options, I ordered a birthday cake here and it was absolutely amazing.
The best vegan options for sweet and savoury treats
Love coming here! The staff are friendly and the food is great.
Amazing find when iwe came threw Barrie few years ago, hooked ever since! Friendly staff and an all around great place.
Very tasty food, very nice environment, plan to go back.
I'm not a vegan, but the food is absolutely delicious!! Perfect place for my wife who has a lot of food restrictions too.
Black bean burgers weren't my favorite but their deserts make up for it. Also really interested in trying their pizzas that look amazing!
Just awesome cruelty free food.
Friendly, helpful staff! Tried the Big Mac pizza and OMGOSH...Have I died and gone to heaven?!?! Seriously, this is by far, the best pizza I have ever eaten and it's vegan...woot woot!! ????????Crust seed sesame, a on onions, pickles, cheese, lettuce, sauce special, patties vegan two???????? ????
I highly recommend stopping in to The Vegan Pantry. FINALLY a place with absolutely delicious, 100% vegan options here in Barrie! All of the donuts, cookies and treats are incredibly delicious and sweet. I also have tried their wings, breakfast sandwiches, and pizzas - everything is sooo delicious. My favourite is their chocolate covered marshmallows, the blondies and 'Ah Caramels'. Interior is really cute and nicely decorated and their customer service is amazing, bar none - super friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. Prices are on the high end for sure - so do keep that in mind.
Stopped in for lunch (which was awesome) and ended up buying a bunch of frozen items. Really great vegan food!!
Shepard’s pie was very good, pumpkin pie not a favourite. Is expensive.
Really enjoyed our Big Mac pizza...
The jackfruit & mushroom pot pie is delicious - makes me remember how my grandmas chicken pot pies tasted. But vegan and cruelty free! The treats are ALWAYS delicious. Can’t wait to try some more items next time.
Best place.
Vegan cauliflower chicken wings tasted like the real thing. Great selection of sweets too.
Horrible oily pizza that made us sick, overpriced and rude staff.
Didn't try any baked goods, but we did try catering a holiday meal with two types of protein from this shop. Very disappointing results: both types of "protein" tasted horrible - kind of like oily stale cardboard. I applaud places like this for existing, but wish they didn't try to pretend that their home brewed protein (probably low in protein) is good enough to eat. They would do much better if they used tasty protein ingredients like beyond meat or impossible meat and others to make delicious vegan dishes. The protein portion of our holiday meal went directly into trash where I feel it belongs. We would certainly not order another meal like that again. Please improve vegan pantry!
Very good coffee amd nanaimo bar is delicious
The food is ok. Prices are very very high.
Love their baked goods. Had a turtles brownie and a pecan tart. Very delicious ^_^
Great vegan options. My wife was super excited and it did not disappoint. As others have said though.... Staff is not friendly. Spent over $200 and she was very off-putting and short.
Tons of home made vegan food and prepared take home options. Also a lot of clothing and vegan merchandise that's not easily found. The quality is very high and it's a very memorable place. The inside lounge area is nicely laid out has a rustic feel. Lots of tasty looking dishes - burgers, pizza and air fries! Perhaps if they did some landscaping it would make it more obvious it's a restaurant / cafe / take home food place. Hopefully they get enough customers to stay open and successful long term!
Our family of 6 (4kids) ate there tonight and everyone their meal!
Such a lovely tiny little spot, family business - extraordinary welcoming and friendly. They are offering a huge variety of different dishes from lasagne, homemade sauce, pies, quiche, spices, dips, wings and more.. Love this place!! Delicious VEGAN food and...absolutely charming - go and pay them a visit. Go check it out!!! :-) Attached one of their pulled "jack fruit" burgers -> no words!!
Pizza is pretty good, but I'd rather have vegan pizzas from other places. If you have gluten sensitivity as well as being vegetarian, than this place had some of the best gluten free crust I've eaten. The sauce could be better, but otherwise the whole thing was pretty good.
Delicious big Mac pizza & the pulled jackfruit poutine was on point. They have a lovely seating area which was sorta hidden by the bathrooms. It was decorated nicely. Will be back when in the area again! Oh and desserts were absolutely fantastic. Verrrrry sweet, that's surprising to hear from my mouth lol so be forewarned.
Customer service has much to be desired. Went to this place TWICE as an Uber Eats driver, and was treated poorly. Rude lady inside didn't even say hi before yelling at me to go wait outside (on a -20*C day back in the winter), and on the second visit days later, kept chatting with a regular customer and ignored me. I had to cancel both orders, and move on. I know that us drivers aren't buying anything, but we are repesenting a paying customer who has decided to give you business and have us deliver it to them. Vegan Pantry isn't the only game in town, and can learn a LOT from the other vegan restaurants who actually treat drivers like people!
If you have a sweet tooth this place is the place for you! Lots of other goodies frozen meals sauces & merchandise. Cute sitting area outside! Parking too! Lovely♡
Great vegan options, super tasty!
Best vegan food ever!
Delicious!!!!
I have never had anything here that wasn't completely amazing. The baked goods are to die for and the lounge is a cozy place to enjoy all the great food
Had the jalepeno burger and fries. Very tasty!
What a cute little vegan shop. Big menu, lots of choices for warm meals, desserts, and even cold boxed meals ready to take home. We ordered ahead, picked up a few warm meal options, along with two desserts. Everything was really good. We noticed some stuff did lack salt, so I had to go back in and ask for some. No big deal. Definitely going to make it back here on our next trip through Barrie.
Amazing healthy food!
Amazing vegan food. Their dessert counter is incredible. I can't leave that place with out spending 50.00$. The owners are awesome people as well.
The ice cream sandwich was amazing!
Addicted to their banana cake and cauliflower wings. Knowledgeable staff. Quaint little store/restaurant
We got their vegan pizza with everything on it and we just love it!
Nanaimo bars are crack. I can't get enough.
Pros - Great coffee; wide selection of sweets Cons- Bought enchiladas - they were overpriced and did not taste like enchiladas. They tasted like lots of canned tomatos and a little bit of canned salsa are used. Also, the tortilla used did not at all seem like a Latin american style tortilla, but more like something American (like bread used for a chicken wrap) that you'd get at a grocery store.
Awesome food! I got the jackfruit shepherds pie and it was amazing!
Lunch specials are always delicious. Food looks amazing and tastes just as good.
Went to the Vegan Pantry on the way to Algonquin park for camping. Grabbed lunch (jalapeno cheddar burger) and a boat load of freezer goodies. Picked up a pizza skull for a road trip snack and was sorry I didn't buy more! If you're passing through the area make a point of visiting the fine folks at Vegan Pantry. Come hungry and eat ALL THE THINGS.
The food is delicious and the staff is always so nice and welcoming.
I won't lie, I wasn't expecting much when I was first told about this place, and I have never been happier to be wrong. Amazing quality food, an intense attention to detail that many such shops lack, friendly & informative staff, and prices that are reasonable. This is a "Must Visit" place in Barrie if you're Vegan/Vegitarian. A true hidden gem.
yummy vegan food and treats a bit pricy but i assume that’s because of the area there isn’t many vegan places, staff was friendly!
Finally something Barrie has been missing! I love that vegan foods are becoming more accessible and delicious at that. Unfortunately, the markup cost on food at the Vegan Pantry is far to high for me to frequent. I have friends that say the same. Maybe In the future the vegan pantry will cater to, two marketing gaps and also make their food affordable! As a vegan myself I know that most of these foods are a fraction to make compared to the actual price. Again, not complaining about the people or the food, they are fantastic I just would like to be able to enjoy it myself.
Some stuff was good, some tasteless and dry
Tried this restaurant for the first time today and was absolutely wowed by how good the food is. My husband had the banana cake and loved it saying the frosting was amazing. I had a rocky road like cake with marshmallow and peanuts held together in a nuttella like dark chocolate batter that was just melt in your mouth good. I had the jalapeño burger and it was delicious with its light spicy flavour and the cheese I couldn't believe it was vegan it's so delicious and my husband had the pantry burger that was just out of this world good with its thick meaty bean burger and the vegan mayo was so creamy and flavourful. All the lettuce, tomatoes and other dressings were deliciously crunchy and fresh and the bun was so good I couldn't believe it was gluten free. The jalapeño popper with the jackfruit sauce was so good. The sauce totally made the dish perfect with its sweet fruity BBQ like flavor. The fries were not as crispy as I liked but my husband loved them. They were real hand cut potatoes and were fresh and tasty. The portions are generous and we made 2-3 meals out of the burgers and fries and jalapeño poppers between the two of us. My hubby has eaten a 1/3 of his banana cake and I only managed a 1/4 of mine so there is plenty to enjoy for tomorrow. Everything came to roughly $100 but we bought alot and I feel like it was worth it since the lasagna is large enough to feed a family of 4 generously and the cakes are huge. We also bought there cauliflower BBQ wings a and lasagna to try tomorrow and if they are even a fraction as good as the burgers I can't wait to try them. Nothing was over salted or tasted fake. It was real food that tasted good and I felt good after eating it. Bottom line: we will definitely be back for more
This place is so delicious! Friendly staff, wonderful food and tasty drinks.
Been wanting to go for months and finally got to and I'm so glad I did! Their food is amazing and their treats are even better :)
INCREDIBLE food.
The best in the business. Worth the drive to Barrie every single time! The food and treats are incredible and the staff are amazing!
Such a cute place. Delicious vegan treats for a happy Vegan father's day!
I have been going to the Vegan Pantry for a couple of years now. I love all the food but I bought a birthday cake for my granddaughter birthday and it was fantastic. Well done
We recently hit up this place for lunch…and it was beyond our expectations. Great food and selection! Although as most vegan places the prices are a tad steep it’s well worth the price for a once in a while treat!!
One of my fav spots in Barrie everything is made with love ❤
Love this spot for vegan treats!
Friendly service, tons of options. The vegan nachos were a hit, but the poutine had way to much rosemary which made it taste a bit like Thanksgiving. For two people to eat it costs about $50 with drinks.
Charming little place. The food is wholesome and delicious! We had lunch here. Nice modern dining area. Friendly service. Oh and the desserts! Wowza! All gluten, egg, milk and meat free food. Awesome!
Overall a very weird vibe but great cake pops.
Fantastic place and it's in Barrie! Wow. Can find anything here including nanaimo bars
This place is amazing for your vegan needs including a full selection of some of the best Gluten Free desserts around. Blondies, brownies, cookies, Hello Dolly bars and the most amazing pumpkin chocolate chip muffins. They also have a nice little patio to enjoy a specialty coffee with your treat.
Birthday cake was next level.. love the branding .. also big time into the big Mac calzone
Wonderful little shop. Bursting with great healthy food and charm. Great for everything vegan.
Absolutely fabulous! Better than expected. Vegan and gluten free always draws me in. It was wonderful that they understood nightshades and could inform me what had nightshades in it. The pizza was the best I've had in some time. Crust was amazing! And to have plant based pepperoni. Wow! That was tasty! Lucky for us you were open on Easter Sunday! Thanks.
I wish I liked the $70 cake that I bought for Valentine's day... but it was very dry and the icing was too sweet. I really wasn't impressed. I like the idea of a vegan cake, but I was just disappointed.
Delicious treats and excellent service. Will return
Loveeeee this place!! Their treats are amazing!
Great cozy place for a date night. excellently prepared food.
Wondeful helpful staff. Food to die for! And great clothing and accessories.
Great food amazing dishes.
Love the lunch specials. Coffee drinks are on point! :)
Went in to pick up cauliflower wings (delicious), an Animal Lovers panzo (delicious!!), a Big Mac panzo (delicious!!!), and a Mexican lasagna (good, but the cooking instructions seemed off- had to leave it in the oven longer than expected). Overall, would recommend to vegans and non-vegans alike. :)
Very tasty food! Friendly knowledgeable staff. The prices are a little steep but I would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a delicious vegan experience.
Big Mac panzo was great! Wasn't a fan of the poutine, (fries are to thick of a cut for me) Staff is friendly and sit down area is nice
Good place
Everything is really good, would be 5 stars but the prices are just too high for me to go there enough.
Great vegan food!
same comment as someone below because we feel the exact same way: Finally something Barrie has been missing! Again, not complaining about the people or the food, they are fantastic I just would like to be able to enjoy it myself.
Always a welcoming and friendly experience . Such great staff , great coffee and a clean and quite lounge ! 10/10 Vanilla mint matcha latte was out of this world tasty .
Had the Au caramel which was amazing. Only complaint would be I didn't see any signs with product names or prices. A little pricey, but it's a once in awhile treat.
I’ve been going to this place since they first opened. Their baked goods are tastey but their actual food always tasted a bit off to me. Maybe just not as close to the real thing as I’d like. The portions for the prices are also really small. I’ve definitely had better cooked vegan food elsewhere. It’s great they have takeout and frozen food but everything here is really over priced (almost $20 for 6 cauliflower wings that dry out when heated?). The service isn’t the best... every worker I’ve come into contact with doesn’t have very good customer service skills (not the nicest or the most helpful and when you ask questions they look at you like you have 2 heads). They also ripped off the Big Mac pizza idea from a place in Toronto called Apiecalypse Now! which I would HIGHLY recommend as the one here doesn’t even compare. For these reasons I rated it 2 stars. If they worked on their customer service and prices a bit I think I would enjoy it more.
Good food but extremely over priced.
Really cute cafe/eatery, the staff is are all really nice and the food drinks are lovely! Really love their iced matcha! ????????
I love coming here to get some yummy baked goods and especially the frozen meals like their lasagna and pot pies are amazingggggg! So good! Their service is really good too :)
Great food. It would be nice if the nutritional information including calories were available
Excellent little spot for great coffee and vegan pasteries No chance of disappointment!
Awesome staff.
Its unfortunate they don't follow the medical mask exemption. I unfortunately will no longer be supporting this business.
We loved our food from here.. My daughter and husband loved the pizza and I loved the desserts! The hello dolly was my favourite. Only reason it's not 5 star is the price. But it's worth it for a treat. Super tasty.
Fast service, little too expensive
Great place for vegan food. I'm new to the area and decided to try The Vegan Pantry. The big mac pizza is amazing with all vegan cheese. The owner is also a really nice person, gave me some good suggestions and we ended chatting for a bit. 100% would recommend!!
Picked up two items to try at home. The cauliflower wings were excellent, though did not like the dip given to eat with them. Made my own cashew dip.Yum! The shepherds pie while tasty did not have enough bottom layer, certainly not enough veggies in it. Mushrooms seemed like canned ones not fresh. The pie was 75% mashed potato/ mashed cauliflower topping. Not what I was expecting for Hefty price of $30. Feel like I paid 30 bucks for mashed potatoes. Wings were worth every penny though. Will try other items.
I've been here four times. I have been insanely disappointed all four times. I kept going back because plant based options have been scarce in the area, and I love supporting local. But I can't support something that I feel is horrendously overpriced and barely palatable. The first time I got a brownie/Blondie thing. It was dry, crumbly, insanely sweet, lacking flavour. I never finished it. The second time I got a special - a crumbly bean burger, watery and fake tasting "chocolate" sundae, and overly sweet lemonade. After this experience, I sent a lengthy private message to them, letting them know my disappointing experience, and I got a "Thanks for the feedback". I decided to try one more special before writing them off, and ordered a poutine (with a pumpkin spice sundae which was much better than the chocolate one, and the lemonade was marginally better as well). Half of the fries were completely burnt to a crisp. The gravy was completely lacking any flavour at all - my two year old refused to eat it. A two year old... refusing to eat fries. The only reason I went back was because I was asked to buy a vegan cupcake and sweet for a guest at my neice's birthday. I got a cupcake and their version of the "Ah Caramel" which was shamefully overpriced, and can barely be considered an alternative (and again, SO SWEET I threw most of it away). The cupcake never got eaten as the child it was meant for said that it was "Yucky" after taking literally one bite. The store is cute, the staff is pleasant enough, but the food is actually terrible, and gives plant based/vegan eating a bad name. As someone who is a plant based eater, I know just how easy (and SO CHEAP) it is to make extremely flavourful food without bland, store bought dairy alternatives. I can't figure out why an actual restaurant is relying on those things.
I've been here a few times with family and friends and each time, the staff aren't super friendly which is unfortunate. We do enjoy their dessert but only a couple of bites because we find them to be overly sweet. I find the prices of their items to be very high, it's unaffordable for a lot of people I've talked to, which sucks because I love supporting vegan businesses but it's hard here. I wanted to bring some friends on a Sunday when we are all off, but they're not open. They have a cute store and patio.
Friendly folks & delicious food. We intentionally go to the places where we are happy to pay for quality. We appreciate our experiences here, everytime.
I went there for an after-lunch snack while at work. Their treats are all very tempting and displayed nicely as soon as you walk in. I got an almond butter blondie, and I have to say that it is the best thing I have ever tasted! Their prices are a little high, but the portion they give you is huge.
My last few visits I felt like the staff working wasn’t very friendly, and I’ve been coming for a few years now. Now reading other reviews I don’t feel so crazy. The girl honestly made me feel uncomfortable/awkward/weird for coming into the store. I had a few questions as the menu had changed and she was very snappy. I like some of the food, and want to support a vegan business, especially one whose proud to call themselves vegan and not plant based, however I’m not paying to be treated like Im in high school again with judgemental stares and unnecessary attitude.
Amazing! Desserts are heavenly!
5 stars from the Gluten-free restaurant perspective. Unlike the other gluten-free places in Barrie, Vegan Pantry also does mostly lactose free foods (everything is vegan) which makes sense because a high % of those who are celiac can't handle lactose. Lots of sweets, brownies and dinner options both fresh and frozen. They recently opened a little bistro dining area where you can sit and enjoy their food. I will be back again soon! It's can be hard to locate on the GPS but consider it at the intersection of Mary & Sophia and you'll find it.
I'm so happy we decided to come here on our way to Orillia! Their "Jos Louis" was so good and their cauliflower wings were ridiculously delicious, I wish I bought more! I can't believe how crispy they were and the flavor, we got smoky BBQ, was amazing! My not so vegan fiancé loved them too. The staff are all so friendly, I'm not used to such good customer service! As for the comments saying it's over priced - as soon as the words gluten free and vegan come into play it is going to be pricey. Could you make it at home for a cheaper price? Sure, but they have to pay for so much more than just the ingredients - the staff, their rent and all their other bills. I would rather pay $15 for delicious "wings" than a crappy fast food combo that makes me feel sick after. It's nice to see stores like this opening up in Barrie and I hope the store continues to flourish! I'll be back any time we head up north!
If you love big macs, this is your place. They are always offering specials based on those flavours. They have great sweets, decent coffee, and great food. I gave 4 stars because there wasn't anywhere to sit, which is a shame since it's a cafe.
Delicious brownies! A small store, but lots to offer, and amazing flavours!
Loved the food, the service and the atmosphere. Thank you for providing an enjoyable and delicious experience!
Lovely.great work
If you haven’t been here you are definitely missing out ! Awesome staff ! And Amazing delicious food ! .
They have good treats, but thats it. Anything off their Breakfast or lunch menu, I've tried, hasn't been good.
I find the lack of pricing on items troublesome. I purchased the cauliflower "wings" and three "donuts" and it cost $31, I was thinking it should've come to $20 tops. The "wings" are oversweet, tasting nothing like a good chicken wing and the "donuts" are nothing like donuts, they are like a too dense, oversweet cake. On another visit ,I got a slice of pizza, brussel sprout bites, a container of parmesan "cheese", two "donuts" and a really disinterested and unfriendly staff member for $51. The pizza crust is like cardboard, the "cheese" does not taste like a good facsimile of the real thing, the brussel sprouts are underdone and overly sweet and the parmesan knock off was just a bit of slivered almond and nutritional yeast as far as I could tell. Gave this place two tries and won't go back. Overpriced, mediocre food and unfriendly staff.
Such friendly owners and staff. Everything made in house. Wide variety of tastes treats. Gluten, refined sugar free and vegan. Amazing!
Amazing!!!!
Amazing spot but they need to get rid of that awkward table in the middle when you first walk in. It makes its awkward when busy. Also there was unpacked boxes in the sitting area which kindve ruined the atmosphere. Food was excellent and stagg were friendly.
Placed an order online 30 mins before arriving, the ordering system was strange and instructed me to etransfer the money? I was reluctant and decided I would pay just on arrival, when reaching the location our order had not gone through. With a frantic disorganized struggle, one back of house staff member reluctantly began our order. We had been so excited to try this place out we decided we would wait and ordered some coffees to hold us over. We were not offered anything for the confusion with their online ordering system, and I work in the hospitality industry so it was a bit shocking, but still we’re hopeful the outstanding food would blow all the negativity from the beginning of the experience away. I was wrong. The food was disgusting, on every level, fries cold and undercooked due to rushing the orders, ‘unchicken’ nuggets nothing more then sad dry tofu tossed in some flavourless crumbs. Mozzarella sticks served with disgusting sweet and sour sauce and jalapeños poppers exploding with water from being frozen and force thawed. The prices are outrageous and the food was legit terrible. If you are a new vegan please don’t go here as you will certainly imagine all vegan food to be volatile. Would have posted pictures but literally got off at the next enroute and tossed all food boxes in the trash. Will never ever eat anything from there again.
This is my first experience with a vegan restaurant and could be my last. Not sure where all the great reviews come from but it may be comparing to other vegan restaurants instead of restaurants in general. When we walked in we stood in line for five minutes before being greeted by a smile-less lady. She didn’t ask if we had been there before so at first we didn’t even realize there was a restaurant seating around the corner. You are required to order, pay, and tip before receiving your food. It wasn’t overly long for food delivery but this is when it went further downhill, the fries (a ridiculously small portion) were cooked very poorly. Some fries were shrivelled from over cooking while some were raw in the middle. The $5 upgrade of a jackfruit poutine was gross but that wasn’t cooking just personal preference of not liking fruit and fries together. I order a jalapeño burger and my wife order the rib-less sandwich. They obviously messed up the sauces because my wife’s sandwich was on fire spice wise and mine was not so we had to trade sandwiches. After the food was delivered and including our exit out of the building we never saw anyone who worked there again. They didn’t ask how are food was, where we could have complained about the mix up of spice levels, the poorly cooked fries, or the distaste for the jackfruit poutine. They never stopped by to ask if I wanted another beverage, and when we were finished we just got up and left, no one asked how our meal was or said goodbye or thank you. This meal with two drinks and two cookies was $57. An absolute ripoff. I can understand if it’s tough to cook vegan food, or if having fresh ingredients cost more, but if you can’t cook French fries you better hope you have unbelievable service. Unfortunately service was just as bad as the food. We planned to bring home and try the lasagnas, panzerottis, baked goods and more, but after the poor food and service we couldn’t convince ourselves to spend another dollar there. I was really hoping for a great experience as I wanted to start having less animal protein in our diets but this was a big let down. I gave two stars because the bean burger patty itself was decent, I actually liked my wife’s Robles’s sandwich (nice sauce), and the flow water and craft root beer were good. Hope this review helps this establishment work on their service and food quality control.
Lovely food, cozy atmosphere! Ate in, took some brownies to go. Coming back soon!
The best place in Barrie. Friendly service and great food
Best vegan brownies ever.
Delicious treats and amazing service
So good
honestly the hours are silly. never open in the morning for coffee rush. not open on a sunday when people want to go out and shop. good coffee but it’s too hard to actually purchase from them. extremely over priced compared to sigrid’s bakery down the street.
Stopped by for lunch today and had a great lunch and amazing desserts. Congrats on the Au Caramel! I do recommend changing the photos for Facebook or that are represented on Google maps. We almost didn't stop by. We were visiting the area and looking at the photos, I had no idea that they had a full menu and dining area. We're very happy to see both of these when we arrived. Polite service, comfortable seating area, and great food. Thank you very much!
