Eggs were over cooked, gravy was watery, did not get condiments that I specifically asked for, and also a bit pricey. In my opinion, there are many better options in a highly competitive market.

Tried and true, they never disappoint. Sure, their coffee is usually burnt and we aren’t the HUGEST fan of their sausage, but their staff make it feel like coming home. They are friendly and attentive, they consider the kids and always quick to bring out their meals (while holding off the chocolate milk so food gets eaten). We have 5 children 6 years old and under and we’ve never once been made to feel like a hassle or a distraction. It always feels like they are genuinely happy to have us and the kids love them. For atmosphere, consistent food, and amazing pancakes this is one of our favourite easy breakfast spots.

Visited on a Saturday mid morning so expected a busy restaurant and it did not disappoint. But the short wait (5-10 mins) was worth it. Our server was very pleasant and attentive. The decor is spot on - retro tvs are neat. I believe I got the Cadillac Combo. French toast was particularly tasty. I'll be back for another oldtime breakfast, hopefully sooner than later.

I really loved this place. It is a very stylized place but the food is fantastic and the staff is wonderful. They are very responsive and observe thier guests well. Service was fast. Long wait time to be seated or recognized as being in the building. Quick to take the order then downward spiral from there. Poor quality of food. A side of fruit was brought to the table. 7-10 min later child's French toast was brought and we were told our food was being plated. Others who ordered after us were served first. About another 10 later we got our food with one order mixed up. Checked on the breakfast once we were done.

Definitely a place to visit if you are into nostalgia. The food was great, portions were a good size. I had the Greek salad which was perfectly made and had just enough dressing. The only reason I didn't give them a 5 star was that the music playing in the restaurant did not match the atmosphere. I don't think Wiz Kahlifa was a hit in the 1950's. Other than that minor detail, the food was great, and the 50's diner visually was all there.

Cool looking place but its good days are long gone. Food not good at all. They wont change anything in the menu for you. For example i asked for a salad instead of veggies and that couldnt be done. In food to go there was no sauce and no cutlery. Better go to any chain food like harveys or wendys across the street. Will be cheaper and better (and i am not fun at all of any above). The place is good only for taking a picture.

Flashback Diner is a great, cute little restaurant that definitely holds a nostalgic feel to it. In ways, it's similar to Wimpy's Diner (either that or Wimpy's is similar to it). I would definitley recommend going here for grilled cheese and a milkshake.

I used to love this place but not any more. I decided to try it again today hoping that it would be as amazing as it was before put once again, I am disappointed. Gravy tasted burnt, fries were so soggy but since the gravy was burnt I didn't eat it. The burger was meh. It was so dry. Is there a new cook there because this is not the way the food used to be!! Also asked for salt, pepper, vinegar, utensils, and received none of it. Not even a napkin.

Lots of arborite, glitter, and old road signs—and those sweet table-tops. Fun fact: if you order sliced tomatoes as your breakfast side, you can get them grilled with garlic. Do it!!! So tasty.

We have the meat lovers Flashback Diner three eggs two pieces of peameal bacon two pieces of bacon and two pieces of sausage with our choice of sides. The coffee was flowing, it was a good brew. I also thought it was unique to have Monsters University on on little TV. Our server was really nice she did a great job checking to make sure we were good.

My favourite restaurant for a Sunday breakfast. Nothing fancy here, the interior of this small diner probably hasn't been refurbished since it opened but it simply adds to the charm. There are small tvs at all booth tables and they always are playing a Disney classic. You can't go wrong with any of their breakfast combos but be forewarned the serving sizes are huge! Barrie's best cheap greasy spoon breakfast!

I rank this location 4 out of 5 stars. The waitresses are very nice and the vibe throughout the restaurant is very different, more homey as they have small tvs for everyone. The food was only good and very large sized. The only improvement they can make is to fix the heating as it seemed very chilly and the bathrooms are cold. Will visit again during the summer.

Stopped in for dinner here. Service was great, really friendly and attentive. The whole diner vibe is done well, cosy little interior with fun decor although getting a little old and tired, probably about due for a little refresh. Each booth has a little screen with a movie playing for the kids. The food had potential but unfortunately wasn't up to much. Husband ordered a burger and poutine, burger was pretty basic and nothing special, could have made better at home. Poutine similar, although Philly steak in it was nice. I ordered Greek salad with chicken and garlic bread. Struck me as odd not to have cucumber in it but again, regardless, it was basic and I could have made better at home. Chicken was not good, seemed like it had been cooked slowly and then reheated and it was a very small amount. Same with garlic bread, I make better. Kids had fish and chips which was fine. Overall I think perhaps this place is getting all the great reviews due to its breakfast, not the other food. And again, the service was great.

We ate breakfast here three days in a row. The food was delicious. The Eggs Benedict were very good with a fruit cup and home fries. The french toast with strawberry sauce and just a bit of cinnamon was cooked to a golden brown. The 3 eggs with home fries and toast was good too. Each meal was good portions and the prices were reasonable. Much better food than the granola bar, fruit cup and horrible coffee from the hotel we were staying at. Will definitely return.

It was the worst breakfast I have ever had. The Canadian bacon left a metallic taste and my partners sausages were sour tasting. Hardly any butter in the toast. Eggs were not even cooked. I will never go back there or recommend it to any one.

We haven't been here in awhile but thought we'd grab lunch like we used to. So much has changed...some good but overall there is lots of room for improvements. Right from the sign that said walk to the back to be seated and half the floor seating was closed...should have been the que to leave. The table service was exceptionally slow, there was no reason for slow service other than chatty slow moving waitresses (only one was working the floor). The waitress was pleasant enough but lacking the hospitality flare. The music playing overhead had volume issues. Food was acceptable, not as great as I remembered but we all ate it. The serving size was good as was the presentation and the price was average for the area.

We went to Flashback Diner because of the other positive reviews on Trip Advisor and we weren't disappointed. Although the diner is small, we didn't have to wait to be seated. The food was great and the customer service was terrific. The place could use some sprucing up a bit - but if you're only interested in great food at an affordable price, this is the place to try.

This is the best breakfast restaurant in Barrie! I much prefer smaller less known breakfast places over the larger franchises like Cora’s. Flashbacks is cheaper and you get way more. Not to mention they have a lot of variety in terms of options for the entire family. They have lots of good meat and fruit items, plus other favourites like French toast and pancakes.

I would say it's a rather average restaurant. The food was filling, but not overly appetizing. I found it to be a little bland and the burger I had was incredibly greasy. The service itself was unfortunately slow, and the server did not seem very enthused. The music was a little too loud for a restaurant as well, and the building had an odd smell. The nostalgia was for sure unique. Cute place to visit for a one time meal. I can say I'm not sure I'd want to go back again.

Once I sat down I can already say I was having an exquisite time. The lady asked what drink I wanted and I answered in great reply. "Water". She answered "sure thing, 1 sec". Right when she replied 1 sec, I thought to myself ok it will be 1 second. Turned out it was 2 seconds. But you know, she could've had some technical difficulties in the kitchen. So she brought me the beloved beverage and I took a quick sip. Once than I knew I had fallen in deep, committed love with thy water. All you people leave reviews on the food and service, but the water was the best part of my attendance. I mean, the food was good, but the WATER was just beautiful. Please make bottled water and sell it to the stores around the city because I'd gladly purchase this product.
