The atmosphere is very welcoming along with the level of service being exceptional. This was only the beginning, the food is great! My wife and I decided to share a savoury crepe (vegetarian) and it was delicious. We had the Apple Pie for dessert and it was amazing. We highly recommend both crepes and we don't regret sharing as the Apple Pie crepe was everything it sounds like. Delicious!

Chavo serves excellent crepes. They have a great variety of innovative crepes. They range from turkey, bacon, and avocado crepe, to plain and simple lemon dessert crepe. The distinction between Chavo and most other restaurants is that, not only is Chavo unique for their style of food, but they use fresh ingredients. The turkey, is real turkey like the kind you would have at thanksgiving. The bacon is real bacon, not the cheap microwaved crap, and the soup, salads and sauces they use are all house made. All of their crepes are delicious, and the atmosphere is very contemporary, upscale and clean. When I go to Chavo I feel like I'm fine dining in Toronto, because the quality of the food is so high. The service is okay, I saw someone post about how the bill took forever, and being a regular, I would have to agree that they have to work on that. The bill is the only thing that takes a long time, I think its because they dont want to interrupt your meal or whatever. But the staff are very friendly, its just a little awkward, both the layout of the restaurant, and the staff. Also, the food is expensive, be prepared to spend around $25 to $30 if you are really hungry. Otherwise, its a nice snack. Overall, Chavo is really great. Great food and good service, its a good place to go on a date (I would assume T.T) or even just for a casual lunch. Its a great and healthy break from the usual garbage such as BBQ or fast food, which is all to common in the city. By the way, best freaking coffee in the city.

I checked the review before getting there. Some reivew said crepe is doughy. But, that is what crepes are. I tried chavo homemade sausage and Turkey bacon, avocado. Those are really fantastic. I will absolutely be back to try sweet crepes. Thank you so much for serving good food.

Chavo Crepes is probably my favourite lunch spot in Barrie. The Crepes are always cooked to perfection (my favourite is the Turkey and Cheese) and so healthy I leave feeling just right - not too stuffed but very satisfied. Thomas and his staff are always friendly and attentive and, in my estimation, make the best coffee, bar none, downtown! A great spot!

I loved these guys when they were operating out of a truck too. Warm and welcoming and they clearly love what they do. It's great to see how much they've grown their business. The décor is very chic now with plenty of dark wood and little lights. And of course the crepes are to die for. I usually split a dessert crepe after my meal because while very rich and sweet, they're all amazing.

I’ve eaten crepes in Lyon France, they do no hold a candle (or fork) to here. All the ingredients are fresh. His wife roasts the turkey DAILY for their main savoury crepes. The sausage is made in-house. Though prices have come up to match the market. But now has very capable staff who maintain the quality we have come to expect when it was just Husband and Wife working very hard. You MUST come try it. I take a great pride in knowing something this good exists in Barrie. Long may it be here. Remember, it doesn’t always have to be pretty it just has to be GREAT. (Ok, it’s cute here too...and the food is pretty)

Crepes are delicious but service is terrible. I wanted one modification because I don't like artichoke so I asked to sub it for any other vegetable and the waiter got offended. He states that they only pair the correct ingredients and that he's insulted that I am making modifications. They are cold and take way to long.

The waiter was very accommodating when I asked for a bowl of fresh fruit (a non menu item). I really hope Chavo adds this to their current menu. We'll definitely be going back!

Until I came here, I never realized how much I love crepes. I guess that's why though - I've never been served one so good. I recall a place we lined up for in Annapolis where the wait was over 30 min long and line up went around the block, and even that place didn't do crepes as good as Chavo! Came here with a group of 8... Everyone in our group loved what they ordered! (In a group that size, that doesn't often happen.) These guys really know what they're doing! Fresh, healthy ingredients and interesting combinations that work incredibly well together. The coffee was delicious and the specialty coffees and hot chocolates were amazing! Out of everything we tried, our group voted the turkey bacon and avocado crepe as winner overall.

Just had our first meal here - was surprised to know it has been there for nearly 5 years! Food was great! I had the goat cheese and walnut crepe and the wife has the apple pie version - both were delicious! The goat cheese with the spring mix, walnuts, pear and honey was an amazing combination! Would definitely recommend if you're looking for something new! Total for the two of us was $30 or so, so not terrible pricing at all.

Decided to try this place tonight after receiving a gift certificate. After trying to order on line had a little difficulty so I decided to phone it in. Gentleman I spoke with was very helpful. Unfortunately, wasn't Impressed with the crepes. Found they were very doughy. Was looking for ward to them after hearing about the good food. Will try again the desert crepes regular crepes wasn't enjoyable. My husband wasn't able to eat his.. positive note. Staff very friendly

I went once to meet with friends. I got the wrong food and instead of an immediate offer to correct, they tried to convince me to just keep the dish I was served. Sorry guys, but no. Either YOU eat it or you throw it out. I didn't order it. Mistakes happen, but it's not the customer's job to go along. Also, way over priced for what amounts to a thin pancake with a fistful of sauteed ingredients. Atmosphere was okay. No parking. It's downtown. I haven't been back. I'm just not tempted.

Always a great experience! Fantastic Cappuccino and the crepes are always incredible. My favourite is the goat cheese walnut and honey and the Monte Cristo with ham. Delicious! The restaurant seems to always have seating and never a long wait. I have come 5 times now and will continue to return.

very rude server/owner? ! crepes were ok but our server never came by to give us our bill so we finally got up to pay (after an hour) and he said we bring bills to the table and i said "you do" because we never got our bill and to said "yes this is a restaurant" in a very rude way. If I had to wait for him to bring my bill we still be there now! Do not go unless you have the whole day to spend and like getting in trouble for wanting to pay.

The menu is pretty small though and the savoury crepes are very European in flavour...we had gone for breakfast crepes but they had none on the menu. Overall a very nice experience. I liked it. I haven't been able to have a decent tasting Gluten Free crepe in awhile and I wasn't dissapointed. Had the Apple Pie Crepe without cookie crumble. The apples were kinda undercooked but it still tasted good. Lovely atmosphere. The view from the window will surely be even better in the summer.

My only comment otherwise is the music was way too loud for a Sunday morning. Best sweet and savoury crepes and the staff are great! A must try! The ambiance is wonderful! Such a selection! A great place. It has changed ownership so there has been a minor decline. But it still has some of the best savory crepes and healthy options.

Hands down one of the most beautiful place in town, pretty setting inside and out. Minders lighting and amazing Long Island kitchen, a very warm atmosphere. The food however was rather disappointing. The service was disappointing as well. Our drinks were empty for the whole stay, the getting the receipt was slow. We had sweet crepes and they took rather way to long for crepe. After tasting them I knew why, the batter was way too thick.( perhaps it was just that day) The taste was average and the presentation had nothing to them. But awesome place to just take out coffee and have a nice visit.

The crepes here are quite tasty. We tried both the Bulgarian sausage crepe and the turkey bacon crepe. In both cases, the house made dressing added incredible flavour. The crepe itself was a bit on the chewy side. I prefer mine more crisp. This being a nice lighter sized meal, we had room for a dessert crepe and tried a Bavarian cream with dark chocolate sauce. Again the flavour was marvelous, but once again it was a rather chewy crepe. All in all a decent meal which was just the right amount on your plate.

Opened restaurant on New Year’s Day just for my husband and myself, as well as our two friends -demonstrated extraordinary behavior in these ‘selfie” times! My husband had made a reservation the week before with owner (?). We were planning on meeting our friends, who had just moved two hours north of us, halfway in Barrie. What’s so unique is - the owner had no way of contacting us, given he was so busy when my husband called to make reservations, he didn’t take our phone number. Yet he felt so responsible that he and another female person opened up their restaurant just for us! Bottomline: if you leave near Barrie - support this restaurant, these people by eating there. The food is fresh, interesting, and wonderful crepe combos. Delish????

This used to be our absolutely favorite restaurant. We recommended it to everyone we know. However, our last 2 visits have been awful. Our Server took at least 10 minutes to bring us water after us asking him 3 times and our last visit, we ordered our usual and we found what we thought was a hair in our crepe. We showed our Server and asked that he deduct the cost of that meal from our bill, as my Daughter no longer wanted anything to eat. When we told our Server that we found a hair, he actually inspected it making us feel uncomfortable and like we were being dishonest. By then, I had lost my patience and appetite so I opted not to eat the very expensive crepe that I had ordered but decided to pay for it even though I had only had 2 bites of it. When I went to ask for the Manager/Owner, the guy who was cooking said he was the Owner and that it was "not" a hair because he inspected it too. My Daughter then asked what kind of sponges they use to clean their dishes and it was one of those green ones. We then realized it was part of the sponge that was in her crepe and not a hair. Nonetheless, the Owner was very defensive and did not offer to waive the bill, or really even apologize, which was very upsetting. I've worked in the F/B business on and off for the past 35 years and never, have I ever, been so disrespectful and unhelpful towards a customer who had a complaint about their meal. It is standard protocol to apologize and offer another meal or waive the bill to keep the customer happy. We are so disappointed by the outcome, that we will NEVER EVER go to this restaurant or recommend it to anyone ever, again.

Last time I had crepes this good I was in Europe! Absolutely fantastic! Thank you for the friendly service and lovely environment. I am from out of town, but will try to always stop by when I am in Barrie from now on! The apple pie crepe was amazing and the homemade sausage crepe was incredibly unique and delicious in flavor. Thanks for the great lunch!
