My husband and I have ate here for years, even when we were in highschool. Vito's was the place to go. We Love Vito's pizza, and I am a fan of the pasta. Pizzas are more expensive than places like pizza pizza. Personally we dont mind paying for quality! Everyone knows small restaurants have to charge more than franchises but the quality of toppings n cheese etc. makes up for it! The staff is AMAZING! As is Angelo. They make you feel welcomed!

I have been loving this pizza for decades! If its your first time, get a Vito's Special and ask for it to be well done. The crust is reminiscent of a panzerotti crust I used to love in Little Italy of Toronto, but the blend of cheeses Vito's uses is equally as legendary. If anyone has their dough recipe, I'd pay good money for it! I'm tired of driving 5 hours for this delicious pizza in the most unsuspecting of Ontario towns.

The staff was lovely. Unfortunately the food was not the best. Ordered wings, sweet potato fries and fish and chips. Fish was very average. Chips were made from frozen and tasted as such. Wings were sub par. The sweet potato fries were the best thing we ordered.

Don't know what's up with all the whiners I thought it was a great pizza. Got the meat lovers and was very cheesey and covered in toppings, on top of that it taste great. The price wasnt bad for a small town pizza place was $21 for a medium. Would get a pizza here again anytime I was in Bancroft or Barry's Bay ate at both and both were very similar quality food.

stopped in last night for a take out pizza. best pizza in the area. reminded me of Pepis pizza in Kitchener with great fresh toppings. More money than some places, but the quality & toppings are worth the extra money. Staff were friendly & welcoming at takeout area.. leftover made for a good breakie too.

have ate there many times most food is good my wife had a bad experience with the veal parm and the take out pizza is hit or miss the bottom has been burnt a couple times ruining the taste so check it before you leave with it then be prepared to wait for a new one but the dine in pizza is very good

We were disappointed with the takeout pizza 2 weeks ago. Local folks had told us that it was great, but, sadly, our experience was not so good: the main part of the base was completely soggy, the taste was just so-so, and it was quite expensive. We'll stick with PizzaPizza, thanks.

It's really really good pizza, 10/10, it's just a bit pricy. I know quality pizza (not fast food chain) is more expensive though, so if you're looking for a good and local pizza, this is it. Even if you're just passing through while travelling, it's worth the money to try. The cheese is fantastic and their toppings are really tasty, too. Hubby and I got split toppings and it really was split perfectly, and neither of our toppings "juiced out" and contaminated the other half! Would definitely recommend.

Great pizza. I've been coming here for years, it's a go to for me whenever I'm in Bancroft. Thicker style pizza, it does take a while to cook so call well ahead for pickup.

Absolutely appalled at this place , I just walked in with my wife and 4 year old son. We had been driving for 2 hours. The sign said closes at 8pm We were there at 7:08 pm The lady in the kitchen said we are closed. I said the sign says 8pm and I clearly saw ppl in the dining room and even saw a table looking at menus so obviously they just sat. I said my son is hungry and we really need to eat. Lady said sorry closed as she looked at my 4 year old. He started crying and I said but the sign says 8 she said the dining room closes at 7 I said but it doesn’t say that, sign says 8 As my son stood there crying she said we are closed rudely and walked away. Really, seriously your restaurant has been closed for almost a year due to pandemic. Places are closed because of it and you turned away paying customers because you want to go home! We ended up at the Brew Pub up the street that welcomed us with open arms. And when we told them what happened Thayer laughed and said well, we are happy to have you! Boooooo Vitos and thanks Brew Pub

We ordered 2 pizzas, a caesar salad & 3 pops for the kids and the bill was nearly $90. The pizzas' crust was so soggy; to the point the toppings slid off due to the floppy crust. The salad consisted of on overload of Renee's dressing, big slices of romaine, a few bacon bits and about 4 croutons. It's a shame they charge so much for mediocre food that needs some serious altering. The waitress was aware of our concerns but didn't bother giving a discount for the soggy pizza. Lol...I swear, customer service has gone out the window, along with common sense apparently. "It may have been soggy because of the veggies" maybe because you don't know how to shape the dough& you put the mushrooms on the sauce; under the cheese..????????

This is a really nice restaurant!! High quality food, at a modest price. We had the Chicken Parmegiana, with spaghetti and salad. Large portions and delicious. Also the Mediterranian pizza was delicious, with homemade crust and fresh ingredients. Our waitress was friendly, and very accomodating. We highly recommend it.

Had the spaghetti with meatball. The noodles and sauce were pretty good. The meatballs were a little tough and definitely reheated but tasty. I enjoyed it and it was filling. I little pricey for the quality but that's about the same level at any "Vito's " you go to lol. Service was pretty fast.

Apparently they do not listen to your orders. We ordered two, thin crust pizzas, one double cheese, pepperoni, peppers ; the other pepperoni, green olives, mushrooms and tomatos. We got one medium, thick crust, with some of the toppings, the other ( thinking bonus ) they made a mistake, it was large, but thick crust, all toppings had slid to one side, both were cold. I called, no apology or offer to right the obvious wrong. I asked who was the owner, he gave me the first name, but hurried as I wouldn't hear his last name. I will followup to the owner. We live here, we own a business here. We also feed our staff from this business. Made no more ! No customer whether from here or out of town should be trated like this.

We were very disappointed with this pizza. We ordered pizzas for take out to eat at our hotel room during a rain storm this past weekend. We didn't like the pizza dough or sauce but the real problem was the hoards of cheese on the pizza. We are both cheese lovers and sometimes order double cheese (not this time) but this pizza was overloaded with cheese. It was too difficult to remove some of it because it was solidified and came off in one big chunk. We tried melting it in the microwave, but that didn't help either. The bottom of the centre of the pizza was so thin that it was soggy and hung down while the crust edge was very thick. Pizza is our favourite treat, so we were very disappointed with the quality of this pizza. In our opinions, this is NOT how you make a pizza.

We were very impressed with their customer commitment. We called to check if the pizza was nut free due to a serious allergy. When placing the order 30 mins later, they mentioned they checked ALL their ingredients and the only concern they found was nutmeg. Outstanding customer service! They went above and beyond - exceeded expectations. The pizza was also delicious! There is a very generous amount of cheese, very filling. YUM.

Sorry But Quite Disappointed. Pizza at Vito's was amazing the last time we went to Bancroft a few years back. So good that we bought another one to take home with us. Price was reasonable as well. On our current July 2018 trip to Bancroft we were really looking forward to it. However we were very disappointed that size and quality have gone downhill this time as their best pizza on the menu was not very loaded, quite skimpy, and not very heavy weight wise. The quality and flavor was also poor. Also very expensive at nearly $32 for the extra large which was the size of a large which I think is cheaping out. We can get 2 fully loaded real size extra large pizzas at Papa John's for the same price. And they are loaded. Unfortunately unless there are changes, the next time we take a trip to Bancroft we will not be going to Vito's.

Nice and nostalgic spot in Bancroft with a great story. It definitely gives a bit of a vintage vibe and a no-fuss kind of food experience. The pizza was wonderfully cheesy. Crust and toppings weren't necessarily mind-blowing, but it was a nice combo. I got their most popular pizza (Vito's Special, if I recall correctly) and it did the job.

I am from out of town and I came to get a pizza at a local pizzeria instead of the big box pizza pizza and I was charged $57 for a 12 slice with pepperoni mushroom bacon and an 8slice with half pepperoni and cheese for pickup the pepperoni on the pizza was not pepperoni i think it was salami the cheese was very good but as for the whole experience I was not impressed whatsoever I brought the pizza home we all had one maybe two pieces because we were hungry and the next day my son reheated a piece and he threw it out after one bite it was just horrible

Vito's may be more expensive then fast food chains, but it is for a good reason. I personally love everything on the menu. The pizza is amazing with a thin crust and plenty of toppings it's one of my favorites. Lasagna would have to be my top pick though. If you plan to eat in or out this is a great place to fill up.

We have been driving to Vitos for years. My son rates and judges chicken parmigiana for fun and Vitos has been his first choice for years (and he's tried chicken parm at many places!). Everywhere else always come short and doesnt compare. However tonight we were saddened by the small size of our chicken pieces. 3 of us at the table ordered chicken parm. All small. We left stuffed of pasta and fries and everything tasted great as usual but the chicken serving was disheartening.

The food was out of this world delicious! Service was great, spacous parking, dining area super clean. My next trip back to Bancroft I'll definitely be stopping back to Vito's Pizzeria. The only thing that I'll change is that I'll ask for just a little less cheese on the pizza. Don't get me wrong I loved the pizza but just personally I prefer just a little bit less cheese on my pizza. I can't wait for my next journey back to Bancroft. This is an awesome little spot. The servers are very friendly and make you feel at home. The food is excellent, quite possibly the best pizza I have ever had. Service is also very timely and the food is piping hot when it gets to your table. You can't go to Bancroft if you don't stop in at Vito's for a pie.

It's a wonderful place to gather. The food is exceptional. My party and I order the Vitto Pizza and its so delicious. The next time we're going to order the Lasgna. All the food that gets ordered passed by our table and it all looks good. I can't wait till my return visit in a couple of weeks. When in Bancroft you must try Vitto's Pizzeria, guaranteed good food with the friendliest staff.

Ordered the souvlaki dinner. I think they ran out of pork and plates before I ordered. There was maybe an ounce of pork sitting on top of a "greek" salad which was 3/4 covered by fries all sitting on a plate half the size of what should have been used. The tiny amount of pork was cooked until it was more like pork jerky, the salad was warm thanks to the fries sitting on top of it and the fries were soggy and had soaked up most of the dressing. My lunch date ordered a chicken parmigiana on a ciabatta bun. It was a breaded, frozen chicken patty on a hamburger bun.

We were there last night and received the worst service we've gotten anywhere. We were the server's only table (and the only table in the restaurant). The server never ordered our appetizer. When our meals came out I mentioned our appetizer wasn't ordered and to forget about it. A table check was not done. Refills weren't offered, in fact I had to get up and go to the server station myself to get water for us. When we were ready for our bill our server finally came back, appetizer in hand blaming the kitchen for the wait. When i told him I got water at the server station he just said " ok". No apologies for anything. The food was just ok but I doubt I would go back.

The decor is very outdated and a bit worn, the service was terrible, the restaurant was half full and of the 2 hours we were here 45 was spent waiting for someone to take our order and 20 miniutes for a bill. The pizza was very mediocre for the high price and the mozerella tasted cheap and stringy as well as the pizza being soggy.

I've ordered multiple Times from Vito's, not only pizza, also spaghetti and lasagne. You receive your money Worth, food is very tasty and portions are satisfying. Staff is very nice and friendly, there was never a problem/ mistake/ "surprise" in food. I am very peaky about my food being free from hair etc and I don't have to worry about it when I order from Vito's. It is nice to support local business, too, and they are well Worth it. Eating here was as authentic Italian food as going to McDonald's for a great burger. The food was tasteless, had no seasoning and would would make any true Italian cringe The decor was dated and hadn't been changed since opening in 1980. Very drab in appearance and dull in experience. My "delightfully fresh" appetizer was from frozen and cooked in a microwave to a scalding temperature, ruining the texture and taste of the meal itself. I hate laziness. Placing a huge roll of brown paper towels on the counter next to the sink under the receptacle that is meant to hold it, and it itself is empty. Next door is a fish and chips place, I recommend going there as they deliver what they advertise The back of the menu is a full page blow-hard do to to Vito. No wifi

Went there for my Birthday this week - we all split a Pizza - was GR8 - apparently they put Oregano in their Sauce! - had the Hawiian - Pineapple + Ham + Bacon - OK - U had me @ Bacon - Which BTW was nicely Crispy - Well done - Waitress even sang me HaPpY BiRthday & made me a special piece of Cheese Cake for dessert with Caramel + Cherries + Whipped Cream - Nailed IT ! . . . ????

I would say this is a so-so kind of restaurant. It is a bit pricey for the quality of food being served. We probably came in a bad time because the pizza crust was soggy and the toppings were falling off. The alfredo pasta was bland that even my daughter did not eat much even she loves everything pasta/noodles. The sweet potato fries was good though but then again be ready to pay around $6-$7 for it, if I am not mistaken. Also,we were still eating when the staff gave us the bill without us even asking for it yet. We were not certain wether they will have to close or something (mind you this is in the early afternoon and we have been eating probably less than 20) but that pressured us a bit to just eat faster and pack the rest of the food. Note that you have limited options for a good resto in this town, so I encourage you to still try this place if you suddenly craved for an Italian food. Like what I said, maybe the time we visited was not one if their best time of service. I can see other people having good experience in the resto, so let this not discourage you. I am just sharing what happened during our single visit.

Vito's has been a staple in this beautiful town for many years. Ordered a Vito's special over the holidays, not the same. Toppings are slim and pizza was burnt. Fries and meat sauce cold. New owners need to step up to the quality that has made this place a hot spot for so many people over the years. Don't kill the reputation of this wonderful place.

The only reason i can give this place 2 stars is because the first night we went there for take out the staff was friendly and the food (lasagna) was awesome. The 2nd night though, we decided to go eat in for mothers day, it was really busy. The wait staff sat us and it took over 15 mins to ask us what we wanted to drink to start so we knew we were in for a long night. The appies came a long time after that and the waitress there seemed like she didnt care at all about us as we never got asked for refills on our water or pops. We asked her for a jug after food came and while we were eating my mother found a hair in her appy. We told the waitress and she took the food away (didnt say sorry or anything). After that the main meals came and again my mother had hair in her salad. She took it up to the bar to return it and ask for the bill after this. The bill still had the hairy appy on it and the waitress only bothered to take the salad off and once again not a sorry or anything. The waitress was terrible, the wait time was atrocious, and customer service overall was seriously lacking. Sadly i dont see another return visit from us.
