Called into shoppers at 9:30 am to order an emergency prescription. By 3 p.m. the staff at the pharmacy still did not fill the prescription. The person who took the initial call clearly did not do their work...ended up insisting that staff call to fill prescription. Unbelievable that a pharmacy can be this unorganized and dysfunctional taking 5 hours to fill a prescription. Was told by April to wait...Ended up waiting till 3:17 without any service yet again!!!! One would hope that employed people would value their work!!! Were told to come back at 4 p.m. and by 4:20 p.m. we were still waiting! I think this location set a new world record for the longest wait time for prescriptions.... 7 hours.....whoo-hooo.. you call that Shoppers service!!! I would strongly advise those who need prescriptions filled....run....run far away. Go to I.D.A instead.

Generally I find myself waiting in a line of 5 or 6 people with only one cashier. Other times I have stood at the checkout counter for 5 to 10 minutes alone waiting for a cashier. I will not support self checkout. I’ve actually avoided shoppers for so long I don’t think I’ve been there in 6 months. Ive gone into shoppers several times looking for an electronic item on sale in the flyer which they never have. Why advertise it in the flyer if you don’t carry it?

EDIT: Thanks shoppers for your generic copy-paste response. If you actually read my review you would perhaps want to speak with me. Oh well, hopefully someone will actually follow up with me and some of the other negative reviewers and address concerns with this store. There's a reason this store has a low rating. There was a 60% off sale on lindt chocolates (all varieties as per sign) and we picked up two bags, one milk chocolate (red bag) and one mix bag (silver bag). One of the bags (milk chocolate-red bag) scanned incorrectly. The cashier argued with us saying that the price was because it was a special variety which it wasn't. When she continued to argue, we requested the scanner code of practice (see photo). The cashier called her manager on the phone and spoke with her for a minute, then proceeded to tell us we had to come back in the next day because the product was already at a discounted price. We disputed this, and the cashier called her manager from her office. When the manager arrived, she said we had to call the store the next day because she doesn't have the authority to do the scanning code of practice. She gave us the correct price for the chocolate but we will be calling tomorrow. Throughout this entire interaction, the cashier was dramatically huffing and eye rolling, and the manager was no better. In addition, I counted six staff members working (three of which were high school age fooling around in the aisles, nearlywalking into me) yet there was only the one person working cash. Even during our interaction, where a line of four people piled up, there was no call for another cashier. Absolutely awful customer service and no common courtesy.

I went in there to ship a few items, the guys didn't only help me bring the stuff inside but also through packaging and shipping it. Also they were very helpful with items I wanted to buy in general. Brought in a one month prescription for my son. They insisted on breaking it into FOUR 'weeks worth' prescriptions so i would have to pay the $12 dispensing fee 4 times on one prescription. To make things worse - when it was time to get his 2nd refill - they don't even have it in stock!! Making an unnecessary detrimental break in his dosing. TERRIBLE

Worst pharmacy in Kenora. Very slow. They magically "haven't received" faxed in prescriptions on 2 occasions, even though the fax was confirmed "received" by the original sender / fax machine. Very frustrating when a person has driven a hour into town to get the prescription. Save yourself a lot of headaches, find another pharmacy.

I'm addicted to this store!! Very friendly and helpful staff, the best place to shop in Kenora. Make sure you load those optimum coupons before you head out!! What can I say about the Optimum Program?! Not enough! I love collecting and redeeming my points. Amy in cosmetics is a star, and so is the amazing cashier who helped me pay for my dog food!! The managers must treat their staff well because the staff treats their customers very well!

The new owner has a bad influence, she worked at Rexall before and treats clients very poorly if nobody is nearby. Argues about everything, yet is all sweet and pleasant in front of a crowd. She is lazy and sneaky. The store is the usual SDM set-up, the cashiers are very helpful, pharmacy staff do their best but there is a constant turnover of people, so nobody knows you even if you are there most weeks. Staff part time pharmacists are excellent. Post office trained staff are terrible. incompetent and slow. Best to go to central Post office building for parcels, or use the mailboxes for letters.

Its open until 10 pm has a pharmacy obviously and that serves methadone which there are I don't believe any other than the Methadone Clinic that dispense locally. The girls are good n is not crowded which is nice. Very essential n important for our small community here in Bancroft

Had an appointment for my son and myself to get covid vaccine. Went in for our shots and when we got there, they said the vaccines had expired. Didn't get our shot. Now they won't even tell me any info on when to maybe come back. Poor customer service!

This was my go-to pharmacy, and I usually pick up a couple of things when I go to get my medication. Last time I was in, I picked up my meds (and the pharmacy and pharmacist is 100% awesome, this review isn't about that) and went to cash out on some coffee cream, and found all of the friendly and helpful cashiers had been replaced by a self-checkout, and a very nice young lady who (for the time being at least) was there to walk customers through the process of doing the job of a cashier. I will no longer buy anything here, as they've taken away much-needed jobs from the community. It's still my go-to pharmacy for medication, always will be, but I won't be buying anything here again until I see humans back at cash registers. Yes, automation is a trend and it will eventually be the way things are, but I'll keep shopping at the holdouts that like to employ actual people from our community. Plus, TBH, at the end of the day I don't want to do a cashier's job, I just want them to ring my stuff up, pay, and leave. Bring back the jobs to this store and get rid of the self-checkout as the only option, and I'll be back.

I am from out of town and asked for the pharmacy to have a prescription transfered for me that was very important and desperately needed. The manner and level of customer service was absolutely disgraceful. I am so disgusted in the attitude presented to me by 2 pharmacists that I want to complain to a higher level. I asked their names and they would not provide it, I was literally calling back and forth between the 2 businesses for 3 hours to only find out that the prescription still hadn't been transfered. Just a horrible experience which is so disappointing for a Shopper Drug Mart.

Seems like I was not the only one finding the blood older lady in pharmacy having poor customer service. She took my prescriptions without looking carefully and told me to come back at a certain time. I waited for the entire duration, and came back only to find out that only one prescription was filled. No explanation at all until I questioned about the missing one. I complained why didn't she inform me that only one prescription can be filled before I left, she laughed mockingly and said "you didn't ask!" It's not easy for me to get to town for my medication, this lady wasted my time and blamed the customer for something she ought to do. Since I couldn't get to town for that second prescription, so someone drove to quesnel to help me get it. The person then told me that this lady was saying things about me. This is unprofessional and rude, big mouth. The customer service is terrible and lacking the basic sense of caring.

Very disappointed lately with the pharmacy...last three times we have asked for just one month worth of our prescription and when I go to pick it up...there is 3 months worth....why???... Are the staff working on commission? Now I have to wait around while they have to re-count pills..today tried to sell me 2 boxes of my meds when I had specifically asked for just one... again had to wait while they fixed this.... thinking it is time to switch to a different pharmacy....

Super nice to be able to run in a grab quick essentials. The self check out is great too during the pandemic because I use a clean key to type on the display so I don’t have to touch anything at all. It’s alway clean and bright. There’s room to socially distance, most of the time, except at the check outs but they put up dividers so at least there’s something. Haven’t use the pharmacy there but the rest works great for me.

While standing in line to pay for my items, I sneezed and needed a tissue immediately! I spotted some small packs of tissue by a closed register so I covered my nose with my hand and left the lineup. As I approached the counter, I noticed a female employee busy with something under the counter, I picked up a pack and I attempted to open it with one hand. The employee told me I can't open it until its paid for! I moved my hand away to show the mess and she stated " you still have to wait!" So I responded with "u do see my face right?" She responded with all items must be paid for before opening! Needless to say I lost it!... I won't name her directly since I'm in a small town but she was the asst.Manager at the time. I did call to complain and I'm surprised that I never even received an appoligy from her!

Stood in line up of 6 people waiting to checkout. Only one cashier handling cash and lottery purchases. Other cashier standing at self-checkout to help credit and debit customers, but no one using that checkout. She did not come over to open use another till to help with the lineup of customers. Likely told by management they want to force us to use self-checkout. So we were waiting and waiting as the single cashier struggles to serve us. We can't use self-checkout because it is a cash purchase. Finally I left store and went next door to Rexall to make my purchase. Quick service at checkout there. When a store installs self-checkouts they are not interested in providing convenience. They want to reduce employee wages at the expense of customer service. Avoid those machines like you do the illnesses you usually have to go to the drugstore to treat.

If I could give a zero star rating, I would. I drove in from Whitney to find a piece of paper on the door saying the hours are 8-8pm now. There's never anyone in this store to assist you even when it is open. Anytime I have ever been in this store, I have to check myself out and then the speaker says "how did we do today?" I always laugh when I hear it and think that I have to shop by myself, carry my own items, cash myself out with no staff around. Horrible is my answer.

(Translated) I had forgotten my strips for my blood sugar tests in Quebec and the pharmacist was very kind, he called the pharmacy in Qc to collect the prescription and finally give me the said strips and a receipt to be reimbursed and everything went lasted just over 15 minutes. Great service! I just had surgery in Kenora and had to get an escort to drive me home. After release it had to pick up meds. The doctor wrote over the counter recommendations. But the pharmacist charged me an additional $12 for an $8 bottle of Ibupropen and an additional $12 for an $11 bottle of extra strength Tylenol. Talked to pharmacist and he said too bad we fill them quick. He said they ask if you have coverage but I wasnt even conscious enough to enter store and the driver sure didnt know. Watch this Pharmacy as if you can get it over the counter they won't advise you like other pharmacies. This one just wants your money.

When I asked for one he basically threw it at me and still walked away without bagging it. Today, I observed him yelling at the girls. I tell you, if he keeps this up he’s going to get an ear full and it won’t be pretty!

Dropped off my prescription. Asked how long it would be. 25 minutes they said. Told them I would wait and they gave me a buzzer. After 60 minutes, I went up and inquired. Told me it was just another minute. I sat down and waited as there were people behind me. After 30 more minutes, I went up to the counter and inquired. Took a bit of time to locate it but it was ready. Totally unacceptable to have to wait 90 when I was told 25 minutes. We had left the SDM pharmacy a few years ago for customer service reason and only recently decided to give them another try as the location is convenient. Starting to look like that was a mistake

I have been racially profiled in this Shoppers not once, not twice, but thrice now. 3 different incidents in less than a year. That says a lot. It's like (some of) the staff thinks I'm out to steal whenever I come here. Why ask to inspect my bag, and not the others'? What about me makes you think I'm a shoplifter? Beware of the post office employees, they are very rude, condescending, and expect you to do their job for them (I have gotten nasty attitude because some employees will measure my packages incorrectly and somehow it's my fault?) Made a formal complaint to the manager. They need to learn to train their staff properly. EDIT** 5 months later the manager tried to pull me aside to discuss MY bad attitude. When asked for examples, she says "I cant think of any off the top of my head" insisting that because her entire staff hate me I must be the problem. Threatens to REVOKE my family's p.o. box rights. Terrible management, awful customer service, and a very toxic environment of gossip. Contacted the head office, Canada post has no jurisdiction over shoppers employees and their actions. Use at your own risk for harassment with no recourse of action for THE MOST UNPROFESSIONAL staff ever.

I was told 15 minutes to wait for my script but it turned into 1 hour and 20 minutes later!! Upon checking the whereabouts of my meds at 15 minutes, all 6 people behind the counter couldn't serve me, was ignored and then told to step aside so another customer could be served! my 'script wasn't ready yet....1 hour later, my unhelpful pharmacists clerk couldn't find my meds and forgot my name. When they finally did get it to me it was more waiting to talk to another person who was standing around talking to one of the other 6 people practically the whole hour l was waiting!! Very disappointing customer service. I shant get any more scripts filled here unless I absolutely have to after hours.

Great service. The beauty section always have a staff member greeting people walking in. The cashiers work quickly but maintain a friendly atmosphere. The post office is very good, but usually only have 1 person at a time which can sometimes be slow if there’s a lineup, but I’ve never had any problems! It’s in a great location so I can go there when I don’t find things at Safeway. I can’t say much about the pharmacy, but it looks well run. Things are stocked and well maintained. All around a great store.

Worse place to get your prescription filled .. absolutely the worse customer service In makeup department. Last night a lady in makeup department did not Sanitize cash counter after one customer’s check out. 1 was the lowest rating I could give this pharmacy. I have never dealt with a more inept pharmacy. They've told me they've filled prescriptions and then not had them when I picked them up and put me on automatic refill without me asking. The straw that broke the camels back was when I asked for 1 prescription to be filled and they filled 5 on file, some that hadn't been used in over 3 years and when I told them their mistake, they asked me if i just wanted to take them because the insurance had covered them already. I'm pretty sure that's insurance fraud. Save yourself a headache and avoid this place at all costs.

I have been trying for 5 months to have my prescription filled with the proper medication After trying for 3 months I was told it was on backorder the 4th month I was told it was on the next order... Still not available... 5 months I was told I could pick it up on Saturday I went in on the following Monday to pick up said prescription and was told again that it was not available.. It is a commonly prescribed drug ..to say that this is ridiculous would be an understatement.. I have been a Patron of shoppers drug mart throughout the province for 20 plus years but but we'll no longer be using their pharmacy

Was just in Bancroft Shoppers and there were no clean carts no one was wiping them down There were st least 5 employees in store when mentioned that there were no clean carts she didnt care. Asked to talk to manager and there was no manager on duty. The young guy on cash was doing his best but there was only 1 cash open and the lady in front of me bought a bunch of lottery tickets went in there to get a fair amount of stuff but came out with 2 cases of pop.

Had a sale sticker up for a shaver. When it rung up it was 20 dollars more. I was shocked that they wouldn't honour the price they advertised. I talked to three different people and they all had similar but different stories as to why they wouldn't do it. I asked to take a picture of the sale sticker. They refused which makes me more suspicious. I left because the last thing I need to do is lose my cool with some old ladies. But needless to say I think this store has a real issue with ethics. If you advertise it, you honour it. Its not hard. I won't be back

Convenient with a wide variety of things and open later than other pharmacies in town! Getting prescriptions here is always super easy and fast. The pharmacy staff are very knowledgeable and kind. I appreciate the connivence of their up to date systems. The store is well stocked although I’d like to see more of the beauty area like in other shoppers drug marts across the province (with more options and variety) - other than that would recommend this location!

Poor Customer service and Management in Quesnel. I always had great experiences with other shoppers in different cities but this one doesn’t have any beauty section expert agent. There is always only an angry nervous employee which hovering around you and giving you suffocation feeling and don’t let you to check about the products Looking you the way like its been proven your a thief ???????????? and you feel like very disrespected and just wanna go out immediately! After being previously racially profiled by a white employee here in the quesnel shoppers, a young girl was in buying one thing, a sales rep came up and asked if she had lottery, she replied no and that the lady behind the counter already had her intended purchase. She asked not to be racially profiled and the 'manager' snapped at her saying I was going to open up a till for you but now you can wait! This lady did not realize she was dealing with a vulnerable brain aged individual and defended her words when her worker called in to report this. This woman is why so many "white women" get followed home randomly and go missing.

I have had great experiences with Shoppers Drug Mart pharmacies across the province, except the Quesnel pharmacy, to the point where I pulled my prescriptions to a different pharmacy. They provide poor customer service and display a very judgemental attitude towards their customer. Never have I been frowned upon harshly for needing to purchase needles for my injectable prescription medications, or for asking for or returning a sharp Container. Consults for new meds are lacking important information, and never is any care displayed in any of the pharmacy teams mannerisms. They struggled time and time again to properly bill two benefits, resulting in us paying for medication that is covered. I gave it several visits, thinking it was an off day, but the condescending attitude continued. Very disappointed in the Quesnel Shoppers Drug Mart Pharmacy.

They had a early black friday sale on Hp Chromebooks. I called the day of the sale to see if they had them in stock as we don't live in town and would be making a special trip for it. I was told by their customer service that they were sold out. My spouse decided to go in anyways and maybe find an alternative as it was for a Christmas gift. Once she got there she noticed 2 of the Chromebooks behind the register for sale. After asking the cashier if they were in fact the ones on sale and confirmed she wanted one and was just picking up another item. By the time she was back (5mins) the cashier had sold both units and told my wife she was sorry and that was that. She then spoke to the sales manager who said she would try to locate another one and would contact her by the afternoon. This didn't happen. When we informed head office we were given the impression it was our fault for not purchasing it right away and walking around the store with it to continue our shopping. You aren't allowed it until you purchase so we couldn't have put it in a cart. No wonder there's 3 other pharmacies in town. Very poor customer service.

An absolute exercise in frustration. One calls to get meds transferred from one pharmacy to Shoppers and it doesn’t get done. One asks Shoppers to Fax your doctor for a prescription refill and it doesn’t get done. One phones in advance to confirm that the scripts are ready, and gets told they are only to find out upon arrival that NONE have been filled. That leaves my wife having to wait and wait. Patience has worn thin to the point of no return.

For those that don't think that reviews are important me and my family just moved into the area around Christmas of 2020 and needed to find a new local pharmacist to take care of our prescriptions since my wife and I both need a lot of prescriptions and after looking through the reviews for the three drug stores in Bancroft we definitely won't be doing business at the Shopper's Drug Mart . Smaller location but good selection and I can always find what I need. Well-organized and well-stocked, they've been very reliable when I needed first aid items or medicines in a hurry. Always have great sale items too, on a variety of products and even holiday and seasonal items. I've been shopping here for years and they always have great customer service.

This is the most either understaffed pharmacy or disorganized one. They just took 22 minutes to come to the phone, and when I asked them to order in an over the counter medication, they said they aren’t the qualified person to put the order in but have written it down for the correct person. This is not unusual for this pharmacy, and what usually happens is that it never gets ordered, so I have to repeat the process until I finally luck into the correct person.

very unimpressed. went to fill a prescription today. was told it would take 1/2h, took over 1h 5min. after 35min I was told it would be 1 min longer and they hadn't even started mixing it yet. I was in a rush and would have appreciated more honesty than that. when it was ready there was no paperwork included that usually explains what the medication is for and side effects etc... neither the pharmacist nor the pharmacy assistant took any bit of time to explain the medication, how often to take it, etc... very disappointing and lacking in customer service.

That's really bad service not to charge the plan that's in the system. May never use this shoppers again because of that one staff member that didn't do there job right. This is the WORST Shopper's Drug Mart I have ever been inside. The pharmacy staff are unprofessional. They will only refax my doctor after 1o days if the doctor does not respond. When speaking with my doctor she said she never received a fax from them and was concerned over the 10 day wait to refax.

The pharmacy is frequently making mistakes with my medications and when they make a mistake, no apology is offered. The pharmacist has the power to renew my medication but selfishly chooses not to. The man who answers the phone at the pharmacy is extremely rude and either doesn’t complete the task that I ask him to complete or he scolds me, the customer. He has forgotten who is working for who. Delivery person is dishonest and does not wear a mask during the global pandemic when they are delivering medications to vulnerable people. I shopped in the makeup department and the employee stared at me wherever I went. Her behavior ruined my shopping experience. I had to do a make up return, and they gave me a dirty look. They should not advertise that they close at 10:00 PM because they badger customers to leave the store much earlier than 10:00 PM. Store manager should refrain from badmouthing customers to others when there is no legitimate reason to do so.

So frustrated, store owner Ana Lees unapologetic, 3 weeks to get monthly medical supplies, put you on hold and forget about you, no advance phone call of delivery, not at home, product goes back to store and nobody calls you to follow up, told my phone was out of service, wrong product ordered - have to wait another 3 weeks UNBELIEVABLE!!! Switching to REXALL, they can have product in store within 2 days of request and free delivery, talking with them on the phone, they asked if it would be okay to put me on hold - at last - some courtesy!

pharmact big let down since new owner. everymonth there is a problem, cancelled one of my meds for no reason , meds that have been taking for years, without Dr. o.k. or even checking with me or anything. will be changing pharmacy, had enough of having deal with withouth them adding more stress to my life. very dissapointed and someone needs to check up on them to find what the problem is there right now.

I am very disappointed with Shoppers especially during these Covid times. My husbands prescription ran out so he went to Shoppers to hopefully get a few pills until he could get an appointment with the doctor. Shoppers refused to fill the prescription, he had to see his doctor. The doctors office was closed so he could not get an appointment. Back to Shoppers and they charged him $15 for a prescription! Its not the money it is the principal of the thing. We have been patrons of Shoppers for years and since retired. All our prescriptions have been filled there with never a problem filling prescriptions. This pharmacist is very impersonal, instead of talking and explaining why he would have to charge my husband for his prescription he just whispered to the girl behind the counter something. He never looked at my husband or payed any attention to him at all. Now we have since called our doctors office and got an appointment..... Talking to other people in Bancroft we have learned that the other pharmacies are more personal and would not charge you for a prescription renewal like that Shoppers pharmacist did. For all we know he may have pocketed the money.....We have since moved to another pharmacy and won't use Shoppers again.

You need to educate your cashiers on scanning code of practice. A refridgerated item on a shelf with a price on the shelf is considered an item on a shelf. Your employee was very rude and argued with me over the item. The product and was not magically floating in the air it was sitting in the shelf.

Terrible. Had prescription sent in afternoon from another pharmacy. I followed up with phone call to say I was driving through and asked if it could be ready in about 2 hours. They confirmed other pharmacy and prescription details and said it would be ready. Arrived about 3 hours later and was told "we are just putting it together, come back in 10 minutes", so I wandered around the store and went back in 15 minutes, was told same thing, "we are just putting it together come back in 10 or 15 minutes" I went back in 15 minutes, was told same thing, 3rd time... "we will put it together right now come back in 10 minutes"... 60 minutes of of my life I won't get back..... due to other commitments I had to leave without my medication. Now I will have to decide if I go without or drive the hour each way to this or another pharmacy tomorrow. Take your buisness elsewhere.

Bought a 75$ gel nail kit, the gel polish was rock hard. Went in to ask about an exchange, got told off (literally to go away) until the virus was over to ask a manager, but was advised that they wouldn't help me either. ?? Ok.. every time I started to ask a question I got interrupted and told off by the makeup counter clerk, Alison. Wouldn't answer any questions I had, just repeatedly told to leave until I gave up. Absolutely disgusting behavior, I understand that everyone is having a rough time but there's no need to treat people so badly. Anyways 0/10 horrible experience.
