The food is absolutely delicious here. Although I was somewhat disappointed that they don't provide a buffet, appetizers were served 1st while waiting for meal selections to be cooked fresh. The main courses were served piping hot & portions were quite abundant. They also cater office parties & have takeout. I will return again.

Although dated and in need of a facelift, that gets forgotten when you taste the food. Excellent quality, sizeable portions and great service. Cheaper and healthier than McD’s right down the street. Bathrooms are very clean.

We have been trying to call the phone number listed on the site for 30 minutes, always busy. Not sure if they were closed for dinner or someone was using the phone to chat ? No way to run a busy ! Oh well, left overs for tonight. I did call the number on the site which is the same number as the response noted ? So my reveiw stands . Not sure why that response ? Maybe they were busy ? on a priority call, or maybe phone was out ?

The food was surprisingly good. The restaurant itself is older and has seen better days but considering the location and size of Bancroft it's a must on the places to eat while there.

I was reading the reviews and when there is alot of bad reviews the owner says sorry but most of our revies are positive .. basically saying that there wrong! I'll tell u this ! The food is disgusting would never be back!

I couldn't say enough good things about this place! My family and I have been coming here for years for family lunches and me and my fiancee enjoy picking up takeout for at home. The food is always delicious, cooked well and they always provide friendly service! An amazing affordable place in this small town giving an awesome choice when you don't want the usually fast food!

Terrible. They lowered their quality of food so bad its actually gross. They refused to refund us for the parts of our order that was wrong. Never gave us a receipt so couldnt show them where they messed up. Obviously terrible service. We ate the fortune cookies at least. One of the cookies had this quote in it. Kind of ironic that we werent charming enough to get a refund for their garbage food lol. Dont go here. drive to peterborough and go to any all-you-can-eat place itll be cheaper and taste better.

Fast and friendly service, but just got home to find out my vegetable chow mein with crispy noodles had no chowmein and was 95% just bean sprouts. Really disappointing when we were looking forward to having chow mein. Too far to drive all the way back to town or I'd be going back to have it fixed.

Sweet and sour sauce tastes like vinegar and the service isn’t great, the lady brought our food and that was the last we heard of her, until we had to go over to the front desk to pay. She didn’t even ask for drink refills or how the meal was. Don’t recommend.

Bad bad bad. I have eaten Canadian Chinese food all over North America. Including Toronto's China Town. I dont know what customers you have that say "your food is comparable to any Chinese restaurant in China town" you are not even close. But since you brought it up I can give you some constructive criticism. Your won ton soup was what I would call dish water. The wontons were not even cooked. The broth had no flavor at all. The Beef LoMien was absolutely tasteless with an abundance of noodles and little or no beef. But it did have a heaping helping of oyster sauce gravy. (That will keep them coming back) your version of sweet and sour sauce was neither sweet or sour. Its name still confuses me. The only Spring in your spring rolls was the pastry that was dryer then a prayer meeting. I honestly though the General Tao could vindicate you. Was I ever wrong. Nothing but globs of tasteless battered chicken fried in an oil that must have come from my last oil change at Canadian Tire. Smothered in a sauce of some sort that General tao must have regurgitated. Finally how can I not mention the Soo Guy. Again I will say if the chicken only knew what it was dying for. It was cooked in the same motor oil and had a gravy of some sort ( soup base powder) with a couple crushed Almonds added to just confuse the croud a little more. If you are going to compare yourself to anything in China Town I would highly recommend you visit a few of the well established restaurants there first. You are not even in the same ball park.

Seriously good food! If you want Chinese Food that you can imagine tastes like the real deal over in China ... this is the place to go! It's simple, genuine, authentic and the service is amazing. The order is even written in Chinese, and it's great to see them honouring their heritage, but it's even more awesome that this gem is located in Bancroft!

Amazing Chinese food ! Best takeout place in Bancroft. Just as you expect, but better. I am a very picky meat eater. I have never received any “gross” meat prices, a huge win in my books! Veggies are fresh and service is welcoming.

House rice was terrible, not enough meat, bland flavor. Beef Chow Mien ok but not great, small egg rolls, Cantonese Chow Mien light on shrimp, good on chicken but no bbq pork.

Very old fashioned menu (think 70s Chinese restaurant sweet and sour chicken balls), food was also not terribly good. For a small town, it's fine, but really doesn't compare to modern authentic Chinese cuisine.

Normally is fast and the food is good, but tonight I called in at 6pm on a Sunday and I received a message saying "we are not taking any more orders tonight" WHAT?!?!?! you are open till 8pm how can that possibly?!?! I will be thinking about other spots in town to order my takeout if this is what they are going to operate. Not really reliable it's a shame.

I have visited this restaurant several times over the past five years while passing through Bancroft. I always plan to stop here for food as I enjoy their Chinese combo plates. The food itself is excellent and always fresh without question. To be fair I did not give it a full five stars for the following reasons: The inside of the restaurant is very clean but dated from the 80s. It could use a renovation with the seat cushions being repaired as they are showing their age with duct tape being used to cover cracks in the cushions. The bathroom needs a renovation. A thorough scrubbing followed by some fresh paint. This does not reflect well on the restaurant, and like I said the food is excellent here. Many customers judge a restaurant by the washroom facilities. In the past the waitress needed to adopt a more friendly attitude. Her demeanor was cold and it seemed like she did not care about the customer. It would have been nice to have her drop by the table during the meal to ask if everything was ok since I wanted more water once and had to get up to ask her. The past two times I dropped in for a meal while passing through Bancroft there was a different waitress who was friendly and more warm toward me. This was a welcome change which I hope continues. If you want good Chinese fare at a very reasonable price and are in the Bancroft area, then I suggest you pay a visit to this establishment.
