Really nice people run this restaurant. My 3 and 6 year olds split the pineapple chicken and loved it. Hearty portions and all the food was delicious and fresh. My partner ordered chicken and ribs and I got fish and chips. Will definitely make this our Bancroft go-to joint whenever we are in town.

Decided to stop for dinner here as we usually do when in Bancroft. Ordered 4 meals and the first two meals arrived at least 10-15 minutes before the others. We ordered 2 ice water and two cans of pop, the glasses of water tasted like it had soap still in them from being washed. When all the food arrived my girlfriend found a long black hair sitting on top of her fries. Upon further inspection I found an additional 2 cooked into my burger. With letting the waiter know the only thing offered was for a new burger to be made and that required waiting around. After just waiting over 45 minutes from the time our order was taken. We asking for a discount because of the issue and received a $4 discount from the $90 plus bill. This will be the last time we ever stop here after this incident and would no longer recommend it to anyone.

Horrible service. Awful customer experience. I called to see if they had free wifi, they did. I came and ordered a tea and a water. I recieved my tea and told the owner I would order something soon. I spent a half hour working before I heard him commenting about me to the other patrons. He was complaining I was using the wifi. He never came to take my order. When I left he yelled at me to not come back and make it a habit of using his internet. By the way, the food looked awful. Believe me - I am not coming back!

I’ve been going to Bancroft for vacation for around 11 years now, and when my family discovered Dave’s Place it’s been our most visited Resturant in the area! There will never be a better rack of ribs than the ones out of his kitchen, and we always loved the hospitality!

Recommended by some friends who stop here everytime they go through Bancroft, and it was worth it. The pancake breakfast I had was filling and delicious, and came with a very good fruit yogurt. The staff is very accommodating and make you feel welcome. The two I went with had some very delicious looking traditional breakfast, I've also been told the dinner/lunch options are very good as well. I will be back here the next time I'm going through Bancroft.

This place has the best service and amazing food! Nathan made our visit to Bancroft so memorable with his outstanding service. He was so accommodating and recommended some great dishes for us. Especially the fried chicken sandwich. I will come back to Dave's Place to try more food because I'm sure there are more fantastic items on that menu I have yet to try. A nice, family run spot to visit next time you are passing through Bancroft. And with a patio so you can enjoy the weather and beautiful scenery too!

I’ve only been there once and it was pretty lacklustre. My grandparents had played it up as a really good little place but when I went with my father we were both really disappointed. The food we had was bland and overall not good. I got the ribs and man were they ever tough.

Had the ribs and chicken parm. Ribs were fall off the bone, sauced well, and amazing, parm was breaded deliciously. The garlic bread is just toast but it was still good. Plus, Dave does everything. Serves, cooks, cleans. Great guy, friendly. Would recommend.

After being turned away from a few local restaurants we were welcomed at Dave’s place, even though he was almost closed. We all ordered the Philly cheese steaks and they were phenomenal. Dave took a reservation for 36 people this past weekend and was amazing. The service, the organization to make this happen the food itself and the entire staff was so helpful and friendly. They set up a patio for us and kept us all apart as per guidelines, even borrowing a patio set to make it work for our group of 36 motorcycle folks. Dave, you rock. If you're in Bancroft you need to check Dave's place out. Great food and great people. thanks again.

Love fishing for walleye but don't usually see it menus so I got that. I wasn't disappointed. Good sized portion and cooked perfectly. Wife loved the jumbo shrimp and son liked the spaghetti with meat balls. Very nice people.

To be honest based on the exterior of this place, my expectations were not high. The waiter suggested the ribs, and all Four of us did. Some of the best ribs any of us have ever had. Fast and friendly service, awesome family owned place. Do not miss if you are in Bancroft.

Great little spot in bancroft!! Heard fantastic things about it so decided to try it out for supper. Delicious meal. I had BBQ Pulled Pork on a bun with fries. Hubby had a Hot Hamburger dinner. For the price it was reasonable. Fries are "real" and were AMAZING!! Only issue I had, was that my sandwich was detailed in the menu as having coleslaw on it, but that was missing. It was on a garlic bread French stick which I loved!! Hubby said his meal was very tasty but we were both perplexed as to no veg (other than the onions), which are usually served with a dinner like that. Bathrooms are close by and clean!! We will definitely rwturn!

This is exactly what I love about small diners. No frills, friendly owners/staff and good food. I got the 2 egg breakfast with bacon, which was made exactly as ordered and was delicious. My wife got the California omelette and she absolutely loved it! Which says alot because she normally gates omelettes lol. Coffee was brewed to order and prices were great.

This is a true family run business with great service and attention to detail. The type of place where the chef ( owner) will come out to greet you and ask how your meal was. Very cozy and comforting, feels like home. All members of staff are diligent and knowledgeable of menu. The food is standard pub fair but done to your liking, at a great price. Many locals frequent this spot with you traditional head nod or 'hello' to acknowledge you as they enter or leave. All and all a great friendly experience with great food. Definitely a must do when in Bancroft.

I've lived in Bancroft for 20 years, I live 5 minutes from Dave's place. I've been there twice once when they first opened, it was a terrible experience and then again last week to see if things have changed, nope. All the older folks in town love this place it seems like you have to be over 60 to get treated with any kind of respect. The waitstaff and the owner treat you like its a pain to serve you ????‍♀️ I've work in a restaurant and kitchen for 23 years and never treated customers the way I was treated. Just plain rude.

When we first pulled up we weren't sure. It's a renovated house and looked empty. But we went inside and there was a couple there talking to a young man. They were obviously regulars so we decided to stay. The portions are really good size and the food was fresh and tastey. I would highly recommend this place. For two of us it came to $29. For lunch. You can't beat those kind of prices.

This was a fantastic meal! I had the spicy chicken sandwich, absolutely amazing. Fried to perfection, spicy but not over powering. I would certainly return in a heart beat. My friends got the balsamic chicken and the wings/ribs, raved about them as well. Dave's place is a win win in my books!

Really unassuming restaurant in Bancroft. Service was great, though I had to wait about 10 minutes extra for my burger to be ready. The family working is really friendly. Menu is good..classic Canadian food. Prices are cheap so and it's really good value. We got the onions rings, burger, and fish and chips. Burger might have been cooked from frozen, but it was fine. It was like Burger King quality id say but was huge and the fries were amazing. Onions rings were delicious and a good portion. The girlfriend loved the fish and chips. Good fish flavor, not too greasy. Overall, 5/5 from me and we will definitely be returning the next time we visit Bancroft. Better than Eagles Nest in my opinion and a better business to support if you want some quick eats instead of Maccas or Subway.

It took us 10 years to try Dave’s Place and man do we regret waiting so long. Dave is awesome! You can tell they care about the food they serve. We ordered the Chicken Soo Guy and the Hot beef sandwich . The chicken breast was so thick and tender and the slow cooked roast beef melted in your mouth. Forget the over priced “Cottagey” places and come here for some hometown Collin’. We will be back!

Went there for lunch and were very impressed by the service and the food. I had the sweet and sour shrimp which was excellent. Because of this, we returned for breakfast and were equally pleased. My wife had yoghurt and fruit (with something else that escapes me), and I had eggs Benedict, which were fabulous. I must make special mention of the shredded fried potatoes, which were out of this world, really.

Very delicious restaurant, especially for Breakfast. However, the wait can be insanely long. Well over an hour in some cases on a busy day, and over 30 minutes even on slower days. If you are looking for a quick place, this is not it. But if you want to relax and enjoy life inside a nice, comfy diner with great food, go ahead!

Stopped by and had wings and fish and chips, the wings were great, well sauced, crunchy and juicy! The fish was perfect, light breading, crunchy, fresh fish that tasted great. Their hand cut fries and coleslaw were awesome as well. The atmosphere is a little quaint but the place is very clean and fairly priced. Will come back for sure!

One cook, doing the work of waiter, cashier, busser, and perhaps dishwasher. Chicken tasted like fish. Said 30 minutes to prepare meals (2), after 55 minutes, we stated we were waiting, rushed our meal before several other tables. Complained that he wanted to go home, too. Not my issue. Hire a wait staff.
