this is your typical Dairy Queen (Treat)... but what made my visit OUTSTANDING was the staff there at the time.
I went to the store last Thursday, I believe it was and the debit machine was "down" just as I got there. I told the staff (3 teenaged kids) I would wait a bit for my order and see if the owner was able to get it back online. So I waited patiently for about 5 minutes and then told the kids , Thanks but I was going to go.
Just then, one of the girls says "we'll give you your 'Blizzard' FREE" . I thanked them for it (thinking it might have been store policy to do that).... took my treat and went for a stroll.
When I finished I went back in to the store and asked if the debit was working. ... it was. I took out my card to pay and the kid who had told me it was free said, "It's too late, WE ALREADY PAID FOR IT WITH OUR TIPS" .
WHAAAAT? Who does that? Now it was only $4.20, but it was the act of kindness that they showed me ( a complete stranger ) which was amazing!. I drove down the street and took some money from the ATM. I went ack to the store and gave them $10. They didn't want to accept it.... saying something to the effect that it wasn't necessary. ... saying they didn't mind. But I think even the smallest of gestures like this FREEBIE they gave me should be acknowledged.
Now I don't know where this kids developed such values (home? wok? or wherever?) but I would say to Lavern (the owner) how lucky he is to have staff that care about his customers! I should have got the names of those kids to thank them personally...but I hope that they will read this and know how much I appreciate them!
