I came here for an afternoon coffee. Ordered a cappuccino, which was great and beautifully prepared! The staff were super friendly. The ambience cozy and comfy. Prices are fair. I Smstayed around for a bit and read some pages of my book, checkedmy email with a fast wifi... This is way better than any big franchise cafe.

Myriade is my long time coffee home. Predating--or at least arriving on time for--the new-wave coffee scene in Montreal. The staff is friendly, fast, and familiar. The coffee is strong, simple, and satisfying. Despite the lack of available Wi-Fi, seats are tough to find. Even with its renowned pedigree Myriade eschews the pretensions and complexities of other coffee houses: outside your regular espresso/milk based drinks, you won't find a vast selection of roasts to choose from (usually 2-3 on a given day) or brew method options (Ask for decaf to get a Vario 60 pour). When it get's hot they have cold brew. In the wintertime the mocha is heartwarming. My impression is that Myriade wants to be a staple in your life. You can find more exotic--and better--coffee elsewhere, but there's nowhere as good to plant your coffee fix roots.

There is not enough variety in terms of accompaniments. The last time I was on the terrace, there were guests next door with a big dog who was bothering the other tables with his movements and I would have expected the manager or waiters to intervene but nothing. Otherwise, I recommend it for the very good coffee. Coffee can fall into a lot of different flavour profiles, and on the spectrum of sour vs. dark and bold, their drip coffee was sour, thin and lacklustre. Unfortunately, it was also not hot enough, and when I asked on this (can't do cold coffee!) and asked to switch to a cafe americano instead, the service response was a bit gruff, approaching rude. The Americano was better, but not to my personal taste preference (i prefer richer and darker vs. lighter and more sour). Amount of coffee in the shot was good though. Add a spartan interior to the mixed service and highish price and you arrive at a place which is at best two stars.

It's really quite delightful how even a single cup of black coffee can leave such a lasting impression on you. Great coffee, unpleasant staff.. You would think that a "Thank you very much" might merit more of a response than being coldly ignored by the barista but this has been my experience on numerous occasions. It is for this reason that I am only giving what once was my favourite café a paltry review. When I go to a café it is to interact - albeit briefly - with the people there and to come out of the establishment, delicious coffee in hand and feeling that there is hope for the coming day. What I do not go to a café for is to leave the place feeling worse than when I walked in. I understand that people have bad days, I have my own share of those to report, but when bad service occurs at every single transaction I have to conclude that I am not welcome there - and that truly breaks my heart.

Possibly the best breakfast deal in a Montreal cafe. Maybe I came on a special day, but a filtered/black coffee and croissant or a chocolatin, were only 5 Canadian dollars. The cafe appears to be owned by a professional Korean golfer. Having traveled to 50 countries so far, I believe the Koreans have the best coffee roasting techniques in the world, so if my guess is correct, it’s no surprise the coffee is fantastic. Disclaimer: I am really not a coffee connoisseur, and have a terrible sense of smell/taste. Review: Nice and cozy, super polite and bilingual staff, plus good location if you're just coming out of the Webster library. There's a cement terrasse out front which must be nice in the summertime. However, their mocha gave me stomach burns. Then nausea. Then dehydration. The person I was with (who clearly has better taste buds than me) said their coffee beans tasted burnt. Personally it's been three hours and I can still feel it slowly burning through my intestines. Crying in the foetal position seems to be the only solution. Also you'll be paying about as much as Starbucks, so take that as you will. Overall, I'm just sad, disappointed, dehydrated, and in pain. If I ever were to go back (I swear it's a nice place with nice people!), I'd try out their hot chocolate. To be continued!

UPDATE: Talking with the business owner, Mr. Richard, changed my experience! He's a professional, a nice man. He did what he promised and I got an exchange, a new selling Ethiopian coffee brand they started selling since a couple days ago (which I just tried before even getting perfect a week after roasting and it's an easy-to-extract espresso coffee bean); I assume last purchase was my bad luck. I would become a frequent happy customer if in the future I can shop different well-known espresso beans from a local shop like you. The problem shopping online is to go over $50 to get free shipping which is too much coffee to finish quickly, even tough I drink daily. However, I understand you're a coffee-shop and it can be against your business to sell factory beans at MSRP; maybe you can try?! :-) Kind regards . Bought a bag of your own brand espresso whole coffee beans - supposedly recently roasted (dated 2 weeks ago), tastes worse than 49th Parallel - Old School I bought earlier. Very sour and impossible to get a good shot of espresso out of a coffee that cost around $60/kg! Unacceptable and offensive! Will never be back and would recommend against shopping coffee beans from you. Enough expensive horrible expensive!

Good location, easily accessible, small friendly store and even friendlier prices. Cafe Myriade has everything ranging from dark coffee with delicious muffins to amazingly delicious hot chocolates. Being right next to the library and the engineering building, this is a life saver for if I taste even an extra sip of that absolutely disgusting beverage Tim Horton's calls "coffee", I will puke it out on my next exam. It's as if someone put coffee beans in a hot cup of water, manually grinded them up using a spoon then dipped in a sock to add some more taste. 4/5 because it is SURPRISINGLY noisy for such a small cafe. Everything else was perfect!

I don't go to this cafe often so the review might change once I get a better feel of the place. It's busy since it's near Concordia but they don't have much seating. The menu is small, it's really more for drinks to go or maybe drink leisurely and write an essay kind of place. i was on my way to get starbucks but then saw this cute little place and thought i might give it a try: i ordered a small regular simple plain black coffee (like i always get everywhere) and it cost me 2.50$...i mean, for that price, i would expect the coffee to be phenomenal but it didn't even taste fresh. It was very bitter and had that not so nice fruity after taste? I don't know. Just didn't enjoy it. For pure coffee, 5 stars. For atmosphere, it depends what you want. It's lively, tight, and not a place to work... which is great, if you want to grab and go or just sit and talk. A bit annoying though is the line-up waiting to be served if you're looking for a quieter atmosphere... but if you're looking for a chill cafe, you wouldn't be here (try Aunja on Sherbrooke, instead).

This is a great spot for 3rd wave quality coffee but cafes are all so neck and neck these days, that I judge mostly on service, amenities and location. The place is quite small that you have to cram for your pickup and there is NO wifi which is fine if you like to talk but given how much we all love on our mobiles it would be nice to have the option of not using data plan while grabbing a break and surfing the interwebs. For a place that caters to students I feel the prices could be better given the location but it is a D-lish coffee by a renowned winning barrista and their pastries aren't bad at all :)

Best coffee in Montreal? Not at all. (I went there 3 times by the way) The quality of the espresso is alright, nothing very special, but it is the baristas that need to taste the drinks they make more often! I ordered a macchiato (which sadly so many places in Montreal got completely wrong) and it was very much unbalanced and disapointing. It showed that the barista either didn't care, or didn't have skills and knowledge. And getting an average coffee there for that price? Hard pass. Besides that, it is small, cramped and the atmosphere of it isn't nice whatsoever. The staff looked bored and they weren't friendly at all. Definitely doesn't live up to its reputation.

I like this café when I need a more calm place or a place without too many distractions. There's no wifi which is why it helps so much with the distractions. Sometimes it can get kind of loud with a bunch of Concordia kids but for the most part it's a great place to grab a coffee and read or chat with a friend. Batistas speak English and French even though it's right in the middle of Concordia. They serve and sell bags of 49 parallel coffee-I'm more of a tea person so I can't tell you anything about the coffee but from what I've heard it's a great brand! Their tea is fine too, loose leaf and they let you keep the tea bag so if you're like me you can easily get some more hot water and have a second cup.

Cozy and warm cafe but very small and if you seek good black coffee this isn't the place. You're better off making your own, they do sell many coffee utilities though which is great. Aeropress, V60 are available for cheap. Their pastry are great and the price is fairly typical of cafes. I have not tried their cappucinos or other fancy coffees and teas, this review is only for the filter coffee and the shop itself.

Myriade was recommended to me back in 2012 when I used to work in the area. After I changed jobs, i would make the trip downtown at least 3 times a week specifically for their coffee. I think one of the keys to their success, aside from great coffee, is consistency. You are guaranteed the same level of quality every time. Same can be said about all their locations.
