This Coffee Shop is included in the category of Cafe.
Tasty, well-made coffee, and their beans are great for making coffee at home. Atmosphere is bustling, but comfortable. I like this place a lot.
Coffee is excellent. Favourite is Coffee Milkshake. Matcha is so/so, but they are primarily a coffee shop so keeping my review at 5 stars
Great coffee and banana bread.
Awesome little place to stop for a coffee. The building is new and very modern. The staff are friendly and very knowledgable about coffee. The spinach feta pastry is also amazing (super buttery) and the latte art they do is really nice. Great place but it is often quite busy! (And for good reason!)
Always amazing.
Pleasant atmosphere... A little cold as in industrial feel. Love the common area between shops: bakery, deli, cafe and restaurant. I can see myself coming back.
Easily the best local coffee shop in the area! Great stuff and fresh roasted beans. Also, the milkshakes are incredible. May seem a bit pricey, but worth it.
Tried their chocolate and London fog milkshakes.. Delicious!!!
Love it here, great coffee from a local business in a great location with great staff!
Really friendly, and knowledgeable staff! Had a really nice conversation with a few of them and felt so welcome.
Transcend coffee is so different — read better — than the regular grind, that at first I wasn’t even sure how much I liked it. Now, I buy two cups to-go, because one just isn’t enough. Treat yourself, you won’t find better coffee in Edmonton.
Great work place cafe/meat shop/craft beer tasting restaurant... YES they have all of those in place. The beer area usually opens up around late evenings and does busy. Meat shop and coffee cafe are right next to each other and open with according hours. I’ve come here multiple times when I wanted to get work done. They have outlets and plenty of tables for groups or individuals. Staff is nice and menu is reasonably priced. Would recommend you come here if you’re aren’t looking for a super busy coffee shop that you can work in. It isn’t library quiet so best bring headphones.
It's always great to have coffee at a business where they take coffee seriously. Great selection of brewing options, beans, and excellent service. If coffee isn't your thing, there's still tea options to choose from.
Great place but parking is poor
Great selection of coffee. Love the vegan, GF, and non-dairy options! Love stopping in each Saturday to get an iced latte after my run or just to enjoy some company! Highly recommend!
Both the drip coffee and the espresso are amazing here. At many coffee shops It's usually one or the other.
Went in one day after running some errands near the area to grab a drink. Prices are pretty fair for what you get, and the drinks tasted fine. My only qualm is the service at this location can be hit and miss. I've gone to the other location on 109th and the staff just seem friendlier compared to Ritchie. Maybe they were having an off day, but I'm not really a fan of the common "too cool to care" attitude at some coffee shops. Next time I'm in the area and looking to grab a drink I might just take the extra effort to go to the other location.
Love coming here for coffee! They make the BEST latte foam and the coffee is so smooth tasting. The lattes don't need any sugar to enjoy because they are just so mellow. And their vanilla lattes are to die for with their own home made vanilla flavoring.
Amazing place to get any drink that you may be in the mood for! The whole building is really nice with lots of comfortable seating.
We bought a Moccamaster Coffee Maker from Transcend 6 years ago. The auto-off button stopped working and Transcend repaired it and cleaned the whole coffee maker no questions asked! Can't ask for better customer service
Great place to hold a meeting. Nice environment and the coffee is always great.
Wonderful coffee. Try this subscription service.
Barista recommended I have a shot of their amazing espresso in my cappuccino. He was right.
(Translated) The atmosphere is good, delicious and friendly, even the staff who speaks Korean are super cool!! It's our hangout after worship (Original) 분위기좋고 맛있고 친절한 심지어는 한국어 하는 직원도 있음, 완전 짱!! 예배후 모이는 우리의 아지트임ㅋㅋㅋㅋ
Very nice coffee shop!
Best coffee in Alberta. Strong but flavorful. The market is also a gem in the Ritchie area. Great atmosphere for any occasion, meet, study or just a quick morning coffee.
Super cool new digs!
the cashier didnt hear my name and just put "Mike" cause im a white guy. Coffee was cold by the time they realized it was mine.
They take reusable mugs!! ????????????
I'm sure the coffee is great, but I was ignored by several staff members who were more concerned with their phones than doing their jobs.
I get myself a treat coffee here every few weeks! Their mocha is phenomenal, as is their iced chia. When there is seating the vibe is mellow, and feels like a little bustling market. The oat milk substitute is beautiful! The staff are super friendly and efficient, and as a bonus you can slip over to the little Duchess bakeshop for a delicious baked good.
Great coffee shop in Ritchie. Service and environment are both wonderful. Most importantly, the coffee is superb!
Great space and decor, with very friendly and helpful staff. Delicious coffee, freshly roasted beans, and pretty darn nice washrooms too.
Friendly staff. Coffee is good. Mocha has a light coffee flavor.
I like the coffee (cortado for me) staff and vibe. Prices are higher than most but understandable for what you get. It's the uncomfortable-hard-wood seats-only that make this a 4 star. Please install a few cushioned seats!
Best Latte in town.
lucid caffeine dream modern bright coffee dealers alas, has no cats
Always my favourite place for a cup of coffee.
Transcend at Ritchie Market makes the best flat white in Edmonton. So really that's all you need to know. But since there's either limited or no seating available (depending how COVID numbers go), here's a suggestion. Meet a friend at Transcend for "coffee walk". Grab a coffee to go and head for the Mill Creek ravine, basically a block away. The path is nice and wide for a socially distanced walk. And you'll be drinking great coffee.
Great coffee and banana bread ????
$5 for a cappuccino, is that what people are willing to pay? I don't think I'll be back. There are other locally owned coffee shops that make fantastic cappuccinos for less in this city!
Great coffee. Amazing roasts. Finally somewhere that doesn't over roast the pit. Massive amount of varietals with so many different flavors. Green coffee is available for order through the website so you can roast your own to how you like it. I've always had a great experience here
Took part in their coffee tasting workshop today. Was very informative and the gentleman leading it was very knowledgeable and helped to explain the different flavour profiles associated with the different regions where coffee is grown as well as how altitude can have an effect. I would definitely recommend this course to anyone that's looking to gain more knowledge about coffee.
Pricey and noisy.
Cute place. Delicious coffee and drinks. Their milkshakes here are to die for!
Stood around waiting for about 15 minutes after ordering and never got my coffee. Became frustrated and left.
Very good coffee yum
Delicious place for hot beverages, primarily coffee based but some teas available too, and snacks. They feature Apollo donuts and are a delicious accompaniment to your drink! Big bright windows in the Ritchie market and friendly baristas. You can also buy equipment for home brewing/grinding as well as beans they can can grind for you as well! A superb and usually pleasantly busy place to go
There's nothing much to say about this coffee shop. Everything on the menu is worth a try and staff is knowledgable. Love their beans and coffee, and in my opinion, best London Fog I've ever had!
Excellent as always. My favorite coffee in Edmonton.
Best London fog I've ever had. Pastries are very fresh and flavorful. Very upbeat and trendy. Parking in the area isn't the greatest.
Best coffee and best beans in Edmonton.
Amazing cappuccino!!!
Nice place, good coffee. The cashier was really unfriendly and glaring at us when we were still deciding, but all the other staff were friendly enough
On the expensive side, but excellent coffee and milkshakes. Best milkshakes I have had in yeg. The chai and london fog shakes are so good.
Customer WiFi: no Washrooms: yes Power outlets: no Pet friendly: out door seating Parking: street Food/Drinks: Coffee was good and you can see that they take time and care preparing your drink. Everything is pretty standard for a coffee house, nothing too extraordinary or special. Service: staff are very friendly but quiet and soft spoken. Very hospitable thou and willing to go that extra mile for you. Atmosphere: Coffee house vibe chill and relaxed. Good place to get work done. Very unfortunate that there isn't any WiFi though especially for outside when you want to get some work done outside your house. Located in a nice little residential nook.
Wonderful, friendly service this morning. Pre-ordered 6 coffees to pick up and they were ready in perfect timing. To top it off, the oat milk latte I had was the best latte I've had in Alberta.
Dont expect small and cozy as far as coffee shops go (like their other location), but this location is where they roast their beans so it's a great place to come and see that close up. You can get a bit educated by the staff, pick up some beans and stay for a great cup. Biera is attached so it can get a bit busy but the atmosphere is fun, everyone is enjoying good coffee, beer and food. Also a bike shop is attached so it can be a one stop shop if - like me - those are your main hobbies! Transcend staff seem to be consistently super helpful and kind; willing to take time to talk shop with you. Their espresso drinks are generally very good of course, although I have been underwhelmed by their batch brew and would suggest a hand brew method for brewed coffee if possible. I use an aeropress at home so I'm a bit spoiled by that. When combined with their excellent beans it's the best cup I've ever had, every time. Highly recommend their beans.
Good coffee and atmosphere. Very convenient location. You can have coffee and beer in a single visit.
I don't think I've been here
Great esspresso, thanks.
Good espresso, what more do you want?
Friendly as usual. They have organized the seating areas and the line up area. Feels more safe and comfortable to grasp a cup of coffee from there.
Espresso is great. Highly recommend the flat white.
these guys make the best flat whites in the city. hands down.
Fantastic coffee and ambiance. Such a cool building with all of the shops being in one area. Their espresso is immaculate ✨
Yummy chai lattes but now I just buy the concentrate at London Drugs and make my own at home.
GF, Soy and Almond milk The best cafe! The coffee drinks are absolutely delicious. Vegan, gluten-free options, friendly staff, good music. Love the atmosphere. Great for studying or hanging out.
Best coffee in Edmonton
Still leading the way for coffee roasters in Edmonton! Love the vibe of the place, the staff, and most of all the coffee. They always have different coffees to try and are meticulous in making sure your coffee is brewed or extracted perfectly. Cant recommend enough.
Beautiful new location. Great spot to meet. Still the same friendly and knowledgeable staff.
The most unfriendly staff I have ever encountered in a coffee shop. They have zero interest in you. They are pretentious. Also, the coffee is under-extracted and clearly not properly dialed in. It be sour
Great neighbourhood spot for hot coffee and delicious pastries. It has a great vibe with great people/dog watching. Lots of greats!
Transcend Coffee always delivers an exceptional cup. Have been frequenting all their locations for many years. Staff are always friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful. Transcend has been around for quite some time, longer than many other independent coffee establishments in Edmonton, and remains my favourite destination for caffeinated goodies.
Tasty coffee and treats. A bit pricey, but worth it.
Not even sure you can call this coffee. Everything is completely under roasted. Now I get it. Its hard. A medium will turn to a dark roast in less than 5 minutes but this is just not cooked. Was given a subscription for Christmas because I enjoy lots of different coffees and had to throw it all out.
Super cute and trendy spot! Can definitely see myself hanging out here. Great coffee and friendly service!
My favorite Transcend location. Excited for the patio to open up soon.
Nice place with really good coffee.
Excellent coffee and friendly service. They have a streamlined ordering process in house as well as the ability to order online. A bonus is that the Duchess bake shop has opened next door. Acme butcher shop is also there which has excellent products as well. Definitely a nice place to get a coffee and a treat.
If you're looking for fresh coffee, look no further. I would rather pay a premium here than at a chain, where everything is bland and overpriced. Their lattes are excellent, and so are their milkshakes. Very good dessert options as well and their staff is always very nice and courteous. That's why I keep coming back.
Good coffee, expensive though.
They make an excellent latte and flat white.
Amazing coffee and service every single time.
The place was clean. The food was prepared to order. Everything was hot and fresh. The honey chicken was great.
It was great until they literally played circus music for 30 minutes. The DJ sucks.
Super friendly staff, and the best coffee
Coffee was great
Consistently great coffee every time! The vanilla latte is my go-to. I really appreciate that they grind the coffee beans for you and ask your brewing method.
Great stop for a cup of proper coffee! Never had good coffee before? Do you like to drink burnt bean Starbucks and Tim Horton's? Forget that trash. Come here for a cup of properly-astringent coffee.
Best place for talks, homework, and of course coffee. They got me hooked on almond milk lattes!
Awesome coffee shop. Great service.
Excellent coffee, best beans in town!
Best London fog in town. I brought my boy Tony to this place. He isn’t a coffee shop guy. He thinks it’s too flamboyant. You know, like fellas who play in the mud. So I let him try the drink and he starts doing backflips. This aint the joint to pass up. ????
Really nice selection of drinks, although the seasonal lattes are a little too expensive. Seemed like the baristas focused more on talking to off-shift coworkers than serving guests and making drinks, which was a little annoying.
Great coffee and cookies!
Amazing local coffee shop, glad to see their still open even during covid, would hate to lose a wonderful local business!
Great coffee made better by being located in a market. Whole bean coffee available as well as awesome pastries.
My wife and I always come here, from out of town. Serving wonderful Third Wave coffee, we can’t get enough. On par with Phil and Sebastian’s in Calgary, and better than Farrow’s coffee down the road. Knowledgeable baristas and always friendly.
Great service, fantastic flavours! And we will be back!
By far THE WORST espresso I’ve ever had in my life. I deeply respect and appreciate entrepreneurship and local businesses, so I’m normally willing to tolerate imperfections, but their espresso is SOUR and just totally undrinkable. If you don’t know what you’re doing please stop it. Two stars for friendly staff
Great coffee
As a person who knows their espresso, transcend has the best in the city. I was really lucky to live close to their Mercer location before it closed but this location is great too. I was so happy to find them after having moved here. Some things are a bit pricey (ie. 6.50 for a large latte) but the quality can't be beat. This location has a casual professional atmosphere and is nestled across from Biera. Since it's in the Ritchie area there's usually parking which is such a nice plus. Staff is extremely knowledgeable and friendly also. Can't recommend them enough.
Sure wish this place had better hours.
Delicious coffee and friendly, helpful service
Bought the coffee bean there and it is worth for cost. The taste is really good with nice aroma.
My fave coffee. This location is super cute.
good service and awesome products
Great drinks, quick service and the coffee beans I bought for home were a nice roast.
Great service, great coffee, great family-friendly atmosphere. They occasionally have unique lattes or coffee drinks (I think they once had a beet latte or something?) so a cool place to try new flavours, or just to get your favourite go-to café drink. The seating isn't the most comfortable, but it's still great for short visits with family and friends. They have a small selection of cookies and and a few pastries, but don't come here if you're looking for lunch. (Head down the block to Blue Chair Café or Farrow for that!) One bummer is the to-go coffee cups are leaky around the lid. (Every time!) So I advise coffee to stay, or bring your own to-go cup which they will happily fill for you. (Eco-friendly option anyways!) Ritchie market is always bustling on weekends. Very popular spot in our local Ritchie community. Also, shout out to Summer who works there, always SO friendly and I love her! :)
A cute little cafe with a bakery, meat market and restaurant right next to each other. The latte was ok but seemed a little weak for me. It could have used an extra shot of espresso for the large.
The best coffee without question. You bring your latte, I'll bring mine.
This is one of my favorite coffee places in the city.
Wow! Great experience.
Great Quality drinks, cool environment. the chairs aren't very comfortable but everything else is fantastic.
What a cool place! Highly recommend their classes, great way to spend an evening.
Delicious and flavourful latte and coffee. Tasty treats available. Atmosphere is friendly and hip. Becoming my go-to place for coffee.
Cute little third wave type place. Transcend is a popular, locally-owned café chain with a few locations here in the city. They roast their own beans, have all the fancy gear, and so on… and boy do you ever pay for it. $4 for an espresso is pushing it, especially with a tip. The coffee here is pretty typical for this type of café: light roasted beans that make for a bright, if a little sour espresso. Normally I drink black coffee, but I get a cortado here because a little milk evens that acidic flavour profile out into something that is really quite pleasant. At $4.75, it's a bit more in line with what I consider "normal" pricing, too. The space is very cute, and the service is usually pleasant. Overall, it's worth a visit, especially if you're more into this kind of coffee than I am.
Worst seats ever. Hard to be comfortable here. Noisy, need some noise attenuation. Staff not very engaged. Good coffee though.
One of the best coffees in town. Roasts tend to be more on the mild side which can allow for more the delicate flavours of some of their single origin coffees to shine but if you prefer a more bold flavour look elsewhere. The building in Richie is beautiful. I would recommend Transcend to anyone visiting Edmonton
Some of the best specialty coffee. These guys know what they're doing.
Incredible! I was served the best tasting cappuccino that I have ever had.
