The best grilled cheese I've ever ate was the grilled cheese that they made at this place. it was the dill pickle one and my goodness it was great and while I was eating that scrumptious sandwich I was playing Pokemon go for an hour because there is a pokestop right outside of this place which is amazing

Nice place but careful about the brewed coffee. I liked this place when walking in. I enjoyed that you can sit and relax, read a book, or sit on you laptop. I got a brewed coffee from there to go. As I was drinking it, it tasted more and more like coffee grounds. The last quarter it become clear that there was definitely more then a bit. When I opened my mug I found it coated in grounds. Always crowded when I go but that should tell you lots about the food. Always excellent with great options for soups, sandwiches, wraps, sweet delights and of course coffee. The food always is fresh and served quickly. If you are looking for somewhere quiet, this is not the place to be. Think of a popular New York coffee shop complete with local art for sale on the walls and a line up at the till for both eat in and take out and you will get the idea. If you don't mind the busy ambiance, you will love this place.

I’ve know about this place for a few years, but since I’m not a coffee drinker I don’t think about stopping in. That doesn’t matter this place has a good selection of hot and cold beverages. I had a green tea and shared a granola, raisin, oatmeal, square and good thing there was 2 of us. Atmosphere is excellent, staff friendly and helpful, Bread for sandwiches is made in house so the smell when you walk it makes your mouth water. Went back the next day and tried a couple more of the fresh baked food and again was not disappointed. Try this place and warm up this winter.

The Penny is one of my favourite places to go, they serve very delicious (but messy) caramel macchiatos which is one of my faves, the food and baked goods are delicious, and they display artwork from local artists on the walls! The downside is that it can get very busy and thus loud so you're yell-talking to whoever you're with, and you need to ask staff for bathroom codes, but still would totally recommend this place. It does have its quiet hours but I couldn't quite tell you when those are as I'm not totally local

One of my favourite coffee and lunch places in Lethbridge. You pay a little more for food and drinks than you might at a chain restaurant, but the service and food quality are top notch. It gets a little busy around lunchtime, so it can sometimes be tricky to get a table. Their baked goods are delicious and the bread used to make the huge variety of sandwiches is super good. I'm a big fan of the curried tuna melt and their pasta salad! They offer quite a few gluten and dairy and meat free options as well.

This is the best place to study and enjoy a hot chocolate. Don't try to eat your meal in a hurry because the food is amazing and always just the right temperature but if you shove it all in your mouth in an attempt to catch a bus you likely will burn your mouth. 12/10 do recommend the vegan quesadillas and their hot chocolate with whipped cream (this coming from someone who is lactose intolerant).

It's a nice place, good food and great coffee. Just don't get a hot chocolate to go unless you're okay with a cup that's only a half, maybe three quarters full. But as a place to sit in it's a good choice for a cold day where you can enjoy your order at your leisure. The layout inside can feel cramped when busy but if you're in there on a cold day it makes it feel cozier.

I love all of their variations of London fogs- my favourite being the Lethbridge mist. Lethbridge is lucky to have the Penny. It is truly the heart of downtown Lethbridge.

I have been to this cafe twice. Very rustic looking from inside. Love the world map on the ceiling. The staff is very friendly and the food is great. I had a sandwich the first time - turkey, carrots and cranberries is all I remember. Really good. If you are feeling hip today, this the place to be. I would stop in again the next time in Lethbridge.

First Canadian cafe I been to and I loved it! My coconut latte was the best I ever had and I was wowed by the design in the foam. I was not expecting that. The lemon bar was the perfect pair. I liked the map on the cieling to. I recommend to anyone who comes to lethbridge.

A few of my earliest memories are from The Penny. My Mom used to order a cinnamon bun for me to munch on while she and her girlfriends would gab away over coffee. I was barely tall enough to see over the edge of the table, but thankfully my arms could reach the plate. Having a whole cinnamon bun to myself at just 4 years old was the greatest gift I could imagine. I would stare up at the world map and peer shamelessly at George Costanza's Timeless Art of Seduction hanging on the wall. What can I say, The Penny Coffee House holds a place in my heart and I'm grateful it's still open to this day. 5 Stars.

There werent many restaurants opened on family day but luckily Penny coffee house was! I enjoyed a delicious Americano and half sized salad and California blt. They were very well done. In total it came out to be about 18 dollars which is reasonable for a breakfast.

I have been coming here from another city since I was 8, my father insists the hockey bus stops for the next 15 years , then I spent university cramming and de stressing here, now I share it with my daughter. Coffee always fresh and delightful pastries, fresh and local. Staff bubbly friendly and make you feel like you’ve become part of an epic tv series. The Penny is one of Lethbridge's greatest assets. The only place I've had a better cup of coffee was in Greece. The sweet chili pretzels are something I still think of as one of the best pieces of baking I've every had, and I haven't been lucky enough to snag one for a couple years. Full disclosure - I love the Penny. We drop in every time we're in Lethbridge. Don't tell anyone but they opened BEFORE 7:31 AM this past Saturday. Shhhsh. The Saturday morning is different from the Sunday afternoon gang, but the coffee is top notch and the sandwiches or sweets fresh and tasty. There is always something new to go with your favourite. I admit, I'm not a drip coffee drinker and warn you that if you try a piping hot latte, you may never drink drip again. Enjoy!

Rude & arrogant workers. Have completely ineffective Covid policies requiring every individual to share spoons and touch the same pen, paper and clipboard. I understand the need for contact tracing but other amazing establishments such as Brown's have the waitress fill out the required information to limit transmission. When questioned about policies staff was rude and degrading. I wanted to support local businesses in this time but obviously we were not welcome. We will not be back and will be letting our friends know about the way we were treated.

If you want to get probably just about the best cup of coffee in Lethbridge then this is the place. Coffee is brewed as their quote of the Turkish proverb says 'black as hell, strong as death'. Love the Penny! I usually go here for coffee with my boyfriend a few times a month. They have incredible food, and vegetarian options which is nice. Very affordable and the staff is always polite. I will say it can be a little dirty, and it tends to quite quite busy, however, it is still a great place to check out. Also, a good place to study.

Oh man, where to start? So I loved Penny Coffee House. The staff were open and friendly. I was amazed at the prices, so incredibly affordable. I got a chai tea latte with soy milk. It was delicious. Next time I will try the house chai. You will not be disappointed by your visit to this lovely coffee house.

It's weird, but what I like about Penny's the most is the 60 ' s music & the National Post. The food (& I've tried a variety) is not consistent. Yesterday, the dressing on the spinach salad had changed from balsamic to Italian.....disappointing, & the soups could do with a little pureeing....they always seem too chunky. The one thing I've enjoyed the most has been a capachino....excellent! And there are a variety of deserts to suit every sweet tooth. I do enjoy slipping in there for the vibe.

Don't underestimate how delicious just a regular coffee is at this place. Food is also tasty/high quality, especially the sandwiches and baked goods. A tad pricey but for great food and bev and a lovely atmosphere.

Great little cafe. You really get the 'homemade' feel with the food, and the coffee drinks are excellent. This place is always very busy and I have walked in and left due to not being able to get a seat. That's my only complaint but I can't give them one less star for that.

I like the decor and atmosphere. The drinks are simply and tasty with locally roasted coffee. Their sandwiches are amazing, grated carrot has totally changed my sandwich game. Stay cool!

Rude Service. Clearly this business is doing well and isn't looking for new customers. won't be coming back. The young lady at the front till getting mad at the customer in front of me for not wanting to touch the same spoons and paper as the rest of the customers was a nice touch on my experience. its not the customers fault if you have an unsafe covid policy and take it out on customers for asking questions.
