Quiet, clean, and simple cafe with all the traditional fixings of a trendy coffee shop. The Rosso brand of coffee is hit and miss with me (I prefer light roasts, and an kind of picky, so it isn't a slight toward them), but they do have a selection of kombucha (local True Buch) and loose leaf teas for non coffee-drinkers. For me the draw is the convenient access from Bushido Tattoo. If you're supporting a significant other through a marathon tattoo session, sometimes getting a breath of fresh air and caffeinated beverage can go a long way for your sanity.

Very bad experience. I asked for an americano breve and they started to do it with milk. After that they said that they didn't have cream to steam. A lot of other good options for coffee in the area. I will never comeback there.

I love the staff and atmosphere, and their tea is great! But there is something off about their coffee... it always tastes bitter, no cream or sugar can aid the flavour. This makes me sad because I love Rosso usually. In response: I found the cold brew and regular brew coffees were where the taste profile was off. Everything else is great.

Best coffee in the city, hands down... I've never had a bad cup! If you want a treat try one of the reserve coffees, a pricey bag but WOW the flavour profiles are incredible. I drink my coffee black, so I appreciate a coffee without a bitter aftertaste. Most of their coffees are medium roast, and that helps balance the flavours nicely.

My wife and I really enjoyed Rosso. The service was good, the coffee was very well done, easily on par with Phil and Sebastian’s. Nice seating arrangements. Lots of coffee shops nowadays are moving towards serving craft beer and wine, which Rosso does here. This is a nifty switch, however the trade off comes at the expense of cozy/nostalgic. Rosso is hip, urban, cool, and the music inside makes it feel as such, and I would go there if I was in the mood for that kind of atmosphere. If i wanted to study, I would take my books and computer to Phil and Sebastian’s in the Simmons building with its more cozy feel/lighting. All depends on the mood you are in I suppose. But Rosso met all our expectations. Delightful pour over and latte.

Rosso is a great place to grab your caffeine fix. The coffee from here is great and so is the staff. The only thing i wish to be different is to offer that pulled pork breaky sammich that they only offer during stampede. Would be a game changer to be offered year round! That sammich on the cheese biscuit is so so so good!

This Rosso location is not the closest place for me to get espresso - by a LONG shot. But I have fallen in love with the quality and consistency. I like a quad shot of straight espresso & an oatmeal cookie. I have only been disappointed by the espresso once. Every other visit has been top tier, which is why I drive 17 minutes outta my way to get my caffeine dose here. John's doing a great job. Thanks Rosso 17th!

Delicate lattes! Love them! Coffee tastes delicious when roasted ethically and help communities outside of Canada, gotta love contributing to the producers of the fine beans!! Love their Rosso project! They have craft beer, kombucha, healthy snacks, and of course, yummy lattes (I like the sweet latte the best!). They also participate in the Hot Chocolate festival in February where they made this amazing (if memory serves me correctly) salted caramel candied popcorn hot chocolate! So good and very creative! Hope that one comes back again!

Following in the footsteps of the 2 other downtown locations, Rosso 17th continues the legacy of great locally roasted and ethically sourced coffee. The beans really are the star at Rosso and deserve a try - no matter if you prefer a good cup of coffee or an espresso drink, they have something for everyone. The 17th ave location boasts flour to ceiling wrap-around windows and comfortable, open seating. Great job, Rosso.

coffee is good just don't care for the up-charge for dairy alternative. I tried their vegetable soup and it was horrible. I think someone dropped a whole pepper shaker in the soup as that's all you can taste and had to throw it out. Seriously the worst soup I have had and didn't know you could mess up soup but Rosso has. I'm going to stick with 10 Foot Henry as they don't up-charge you for dairy alternative and the food is always tasty. I can see why this place isn't that busy.

Went to this Rosso location while we were in the neighburhood. The Barista who helped us was so kind and friendly, will definitely be returning to this location in the future!! He even did some swan latte art on my mocha which brightened my day (the pic was taken after I got to my car and doesn’t do it justice but you get the idea lol). I have enjoyed some of the fancier coffees there more than I have the brewed coffee that I've ordered. I tend to dash in and out when I go, so I haven't spent much time actually in the space, but it does seems a little open and lacking in warmth, so it might be just as well that I don't spend too much time.
