My favourite coffee shop for the past 2 decades. I absolutely love the atmosphere and will sometimes stay for several hours with a book, journal, laptop, whatever. It's a true log cabin with a wood burning fireplace, how much cozier can it get?! I don't like coffee so can't say how theirs is, but I do like tea and absolutely love their market spice tea either by itself or as their in-house Yak Tea sweetened latte. Food here is delicious and all home-made. Wonderful. Though I've not been able to eat wheat for years, I still remember how good the things I can no longer eat taste, and the gluten-free things they make are fantastic. Would LOVE if they'd occasionally make a gluten-free bread for their yummy sandwiches.

Over 5 bucks for a large London fog smaller than at competitors. Overpriced for heated milk and tea bag. Got a rhubarb muffin but it was blan and very dense. Kept me full but disappointing in flavour.

My sister and I come here whenever she's in town. They use chocolate milk in a lot of their drinks and it's just delicious. The decor is cozy and nordic, it's really a great place to sit and enjoy a cup with a friend.

Really good treats of all kinds. But service is getting slower and slower. I really want CT to keep succeeding because it's the only place left in Cochrane that isn't a chain, but I waited a really long time for a simple latte twice in a row this week, and staff don't seem that well "oiled" or aware of how long it takes. I think they could do with some training in providing brisk, on the ball customer service. But the place always has a great vibe. Don't change anything else!

Prices are a little up there but there are cheaper options which is a good thing and the food is great. Strongly recommend, we need to support local more than the big franchises (nothing wrong with them though).

I was here about three weeks back. Seemed like the staff were a bit overwhelmed and there wasn’t much communication happening. Our coffees were all cold by the time we got them and between the four of us who ordered at the same time we got our drinks about 15 minutes apart. I ordered two sandwiches from behind the glass display and was given three totally different made to order turkey sandwiches. The bread was terribly stale so we didn’t even eat one of them. Very disappointing experience. Hopefully it was just a one off.

My favourite coffee shop this side of the Rockies. Ambiance is Coffee Traders best feature. It's built like a log cabin and it doesn't disappoint when you enter through its heavy wooden front door. They have a wood burning fire that warms the place all winter long. Lots of seating, but unfortunately no lounge chairs or couches. They updated the furniture upstairs so now there is some booth seating. Their baked goods are my FAVORITE; if you want a treat for the road or want to catch up with a friend, this is a great place. Their coffee is good, with lots of variety for specialty drinks and plenty of milk alternatives. It's certainly not the best coffee I've ever had, but I've never been displeased. In recent years, they have been branching into breakfast/lunch types of food. First, I am happy that they have added this to their repertoire, it makes Coffee Traders an excellent spot for meeting/catching up with people. However, quality - in my experience - has been hit and miss. We had Mac and cheese a while ago and it was bland and tasteless, I've had their vegan/veggie wrap and it is well priced, tasty and filling. Their cooler is typically filled with a smorgasbord of options I haven't seen before, so I get the feeling the menu is rotating without any rhyme or reason. I REALLY wish they would narrow the menu and focus on nailing a handful of items. I think wraps and salads would be an excellent place to start (3 options of each + a few breakfast specific wraps). People will pay for quality. You want to charge me $16 for a salad I know will be excellent? I'm game. Their options are presently much less expensive than this, but I am hesitant to buy anything. I've had great experiences with their food, but unfortunately I can't wholesale recommend what they serve (except their baking!!!!) That aside, I really like Coffee Traders, I think they are a wonderful local business and are an important part of our community.

When we moved to Cochrane we weren't sure if we were going to find a new "favorite local" coffee place. Cochrane Coffee Traders TOTALLY proved us wrong. Their muffins are UNREAL, their coffee is AMAZING and all of the young employees that work there are SUPER nice. I would definitely recommend Cochrane Coffee Traders. In the winter they light their wood fireplace and they make SUPER tasty Christmas drinks too.

Would be great if they could make that available every day and perhaps have another option as well like vegan avocado toast. They do have a delicious vegan Indian inspired chickpea wrap and a very generous hummus plate with fresh veggies.

I would give 5 stars if the service is faster. A big group of cyclists showed up and that basically paralysed the whole place. They need to at least put 4 staff up front, 2 to make coffee and 2 to take money. Can't expect people to line up for half an hour to get a coffee. Otherwise coffee and pastry are good.

OHHHHK. First off Maddy (Maddie) I'm not sure of the spelling was a wonderful bright light of friendliness as soon as I entered and she and her team handled the rushes like a champ. I asked for her opinion on the best sammy and she promptly and excitedly replied the Pesto Chicken - which they were out of. SO SHE MADE ME ONE. #WHATAGEM That itself is worth a great review but then came the sandwich. I FELL IN LOVE WITH THAT SANDWICH Then fell asleep with the beautiful food coma that comes from eating something magical. I'm not sure if ever had a Pesto Chicken sandwich that was so good in my life. IN MY LIFE GUYS. Maddy: take your hand turn it up and put it straight in front of you raise it directly above you hinge at the elbow And pat your back for a job well done. Cochrane Coffee Traders: Patent your sammy and her care it was wonderful. Nuff said.

Go anywhere else. Everything was overpriced, but the building seems very cute so we thought we would give it a try. Coffee Traders is far more expensive than any other Café in town. I would have no issue with a more expensive price if the quality and experience was reflective, unfortunately, my daughters coffee was burnt, my muffin was dense, dry and flavourless. There was only one staff member somewhat assisting customers, one at a time, with a long wait. It was very obvious the staff did not care, and seemed bothered by having to assist us. They were very unfriendly and there was staff standing around chatting. I think Coffee Traders would greatly benefit from having a Manager or Owner working in the restaurant to ensure better quality food, service and overall experience.

They were all excellent For dairy alternatives they have almond, coconut, oat and soy Mufifns and coffee were super tasty, serivce was speedy and prices were reasonable. Would highly reccomend.

Well I have to edit my post before.... sadly this place is going down hill... have had some baking the last few times and it’s been disgusting! Just got a coffee cake muffin and with one bite all I could taste was baking soda, then find huge in mixed chunks of it in the muffin when I broke it open. Had banana bread too and it was chewy and flavourless... coffee if good if you want a drip but the lattes are subpar... really hate to say it but this place needs some time spent to bring it back up! Bring back the charm and quality!!! MY OLD POST: Love the rustic charm and an excellent cup of coffee! The latte is pretty darn good too! A weekly stop for me and my hubby! Oh and the muffins!!! Mmmmmm ????

Over priced sandwiches. Simple sandwiches are consistently ruined by adding cranberry’s. Avoid turkey sandwich and chicken salad sandwich. Coffee is sub par. Save your self time and money and simply hit up a Starbucks or Subway.

The food is atrocious, and bland. The baked goods lack flavour and are hard and crunchy. Their pricing is extremely high, and does not reflect the quality of the food. The staff also seem extremely unhappy and the service quality is bad. They have no issue standing around texting or talking while you're standing there waiting to order. I would highly recommend Guy's Cafe if you want something local or Starbucks even.

How did I never know about this place before?...it's been here 20yrs! Anytime I'm in the area, this is where I'll come!! Best Cinnamon buns..beyond Cinzeo or anywhere else...besides my own;) Friendly service, good coffee and really nice interior with a good balance of practical vs cozy. My one recommendation- eliminate the take out coffee cups and ask people to bring in their own...a few reasons...helping environment and saving money on buying a product with very little insulative value.

This is a great little place, and a better alternative to the chain stores. The coffee is high quality and the service is friendly. The restaurant is cozy and fits in well, being just off the main drag of historic downtown.

It was my first time here and I really enjoyed the light roast coffee and the banana chocolate chip muffin. The place itself is very cozy and homey. The staff are very friendly and it wasn’t overly crowded. I would come again here on my next visit to cochrane!

Coffee Traders has gone upscale since my last visit. The side yard is no longer a grassy yard with picnic tables, it's exposed aggregate concrete with lots of tables and chairs. Coffee was ok, they were out of baking. Pricey.

The staff seemed very uninterested in providing service, very unknowledgeable and unfriendly. The fireplace and the rustic log details are the nicest part of this Café, but unfortunately it needs some TLC and a thorough cleaning.

Super cute space - it feels like a cozy mountain cabin. Lots of seating available. Their lattes are well done and creamy, I also had a wrap which was very filling and tasty. I like the patio space and the fact they have such a variety of drink and food options. They even have beans and syrups for sale to take home - awesome!

First I'll start with my suggestions. There should be more than one staff on the front line in the am. If each staff only serves one customer at atime this takes extra long, please at least let us pay and find a seat while you make our order, it will also help the line move faster to pay first so we don't have to scramble top collect our order and finish our payment to get out of the way for the next customer. I really enjoy decor and location and especially the fire,also the product is good for what I've tried. But it is very important to be able to be served efficiently and quickly. Thanks

The lattes are not to sweet, the muffins & wraps are made with love tasting really good as you can taste the quality specially they are huge too! This is a must try for anyone. Staff treats employees poorly... I worked there for almost a year and was written off the schedule with no notice or reason why. They hired new people and got rid of older people working there. Another girl that worked there was affected by mental health by being constantly 'talked too' by the Manager Hannah. I also tried to sit down and chat with the owner and the staff to discuss my leaving as it was sudden and with no reason. I was also forced to come in by one of the managers while having mono for 2 whole shifts which is unhealthy and inappropriate for staff to have to be forced to come in while sick. Everything is overpriced and not very good.

Great place but it can take forever for a drink. It took over 40 minutes to get a drink and the place was empty. Seems like the staff was not trained. Would be 5 stars if they could manage to get a drink made in 5 or 10 min. 40 is too long

Walking into a Cafe with a wood burning fireplace and the smell of the fire blended in with gourmet muffins , cookies and sqares a decision needed to be made .....and so I decided....a kitchen sink muffin and an Americano to wash it all down. Loved seeing friends enjoying company and smiling helpful warm and welcoming staff. I'll definitely refer you and be back myself .
