I got the feeling this is a Where everybody knows your name ....kind place. Very nice comfortable spot for locals to hang. Food is good not great. Staff was nice. For me...it was a bit dirty...I’m sure it’s hard to keep up but that’s important. I also don’t like the tip before you’ve eaten process. I still much prefer OEB.

Fantastic food and service, wonderful location and atmosphere. Everyone should try coming here for breakfast, it's fantastic. The only reason I've docked a star from my review is because it would be really nice if they would start carrying a gluten-free bread alternative. I love toast with my breakfast but can't have it here as I truly can't eat wheat, though I so wish I could! Because of their unique, home-cooked style of cuisine, it does seem a bit odd they don't have one. Other than that, they are outstanding. And if you can eat wheat, there's definitely no reason for you not to go!

Tables weren't wiped between customers, freezer burn was the prominent flavour in the hasbrowns, got a long hair in my wrap, and a soggy grey grape in the 'fresh fruit.' Menu board doesn't describe sides very well and you are asked for a tip before you get good or service. Cute decorations.

I've been here prior to CoVid and didn't enjoy it as much, slowing down has done wonders for this place! Everything about our experience was wonderful, from the perfectly cooked food to the most beauty-full latte I've seen in some time ???? The service was also on point and I even got to see them disinfecting things while we ate (sometimes you need to see it to believe it folks!). I hope the quality stays this way moving forward and restaurants get back to basics-good food, friendly service and a slower pace without long waits! ????

This cafe is an upbeat favorite in the heart of Bowness, brewing fine coffee and serving up the amazing food with a smile. Everytime i come to this place i feel welcomed. The only reason for 4 stars is the local art work for sale is a bit pricey. They have the most incredible lattes i would drive for miles to get this coffee.. All in all great little place ,lively and hip with the comforts of familiarity. Cheers.

I did not come away with a pleasant experience from this place. It was my family’s first time being here and we wanted to support local. We were greeted when we first entered and then...nothing. We stood there awkwardly not sure what to do - should we seat ourselves - do we order - do we put our name on a list and wait (there were reserved signs on all the tables and some were empty)?? Finally a staff member waved us to the till, put our name on a list, gave us menus and waved us to the back of the restaurant. My husband sat down at the reserved table in the back as we weren’t sure what to do. Eventually we went up to the till to order but I didn’t bring my wallet as I assumed we would pay after eating (similar to my experience at other dine in places). However, everything was rung up and a total was given. I was like ‘oh, we pay now?’ and quickly ran to the back to grab my wallet in order to pay. I awkwardly asked if food was brought to us or do we come back up to grab the food? The staff member ensured us it would be brought to our table. After that the service was good at the table (coffee refill) and the food was decent (hence the two stars). I really wish it wasn’t such an overall uncomfortable experience for my family. I don’t believe we will be back.

These guys sure make supporting local easy. It's a popular location so be prepared to wait if you go during peak hours but it is completely worth while. Staff are fantastic, they are all friendly, helpful & seem to genuinely like working here. The food is all fresh made - they have a standard menu and daily specials, never had anything that I didn't enjoy. The coffee is tremendous, as are all the fresh baked goodies they have behind the counter - if you are in Bowness you should make sure to at least stop in for a latte and a cinnamon bun or cookie to go! This is a regular spot for us to enjoy a delicious brunch or lunch, can't say enough about how wonderful they are!

Generous portions for a price that won’t hurt your wallet! This space was reorganized to be Covid friendly & truly gives a sense of privacy. Ordered the Traditional breakfast! Crispy bacon, perfect overeasy eggs, & a tasty Carmel latte with beautiful design for presentation. Yummy and quaint!

I never had such a bad experience at a cafe. When I came in, I believe there was a sign that said what to be seated. No one came even though there were staff behind the counter who saw me come in. I approached the counter after waiting longer than you would expect to wait and the worker with the tie dye hoodie and long dirty blond, wavy hair acted like she didn’t want me there. I asked her about the teas they had. She hastily gave me a reply. I was already off put at this time but I was waiting for my date to arrive. Despite her attitude, I left a decent tip (10%) considering all this. She sat me at a table in the corner that she ‘cleaned’ first but didn’t even let me know when it was ‘clean’ - I had to go over myself as she didn’t tell me when she was finished. When my date arrived, we sat and chatted for a while. Then the same woman came and told me there was a 30-minute maximum for costumers to be seated even though there was a guy in there who was there before I was and wasn’t asked to leave. She didn’t let me know beforehand this was their ‘policy’. I asked if we needed to leave immediately. She said yes. No warning. Nothing. We hadn’t even finished our drinks. When we left, the man who was there when I arrived was still at his table next to ours. He was alone and at a table at least as big as ours. I’d like to support local, but I’ll never be back, especially if the same employees are working there. I’ve worked in cafes before and have had some bad days with customers. I was not one of those customers and I’ve never treated a customer the way this woman did.

My husband and I had breakfast there for our anniversary! We relocated to Bowness a few months ago and have been exploring the area. What a fun experience! Staff were helpful, welcoming, and friendly. Food and coffee were excellent! Service was quick and the vibe of the restaurant was fantastic. I highly recommend Cadence and I will definitely be going back.

Friendly faces makes a great Sunday start. A hearty traditional breakfast of bacon & eggs, a side of shredded hash-browns, sourdough toast and a Mini breakfast - english muffin w/ avocado omelette & freshly brewed coffee. Go to this part of town, Bowness, and let your Sunday adventure begin.

Love this place. It’s our morning stop before leaving the city on a hiking day in the mountains. I love their old diner touch, their coffee (JJ bean Vancouver) is great. My only little critique is that I find their breakfast sausages a little “cheap” tasting. they could use more flavor/spices.

Love to support local in Bowness as we do with Cadence, but struggle with local businesses like Cadence not supporting Local themselves. There are so many great local coffee bean roasters in Calgary that roast amazing coffee, like Kingdom Coffee or the Roastery. I’m saddened to see Cadence supporting all their coffee from a Vancouver Roaster where many there in BC have hampered our local AB businesses, including many of us in Bowness.

Love ❤ the Huevos rancheros! Also tried the waffle breakfast and it was good too.???? Some unique and oversized baked goods are available, but I've only ever had the day-old cinnamon buns. I like to support local business, so I go once in a while just because. I find the artwork, while cool in its own way, awkward with the old-style diner checkerboard flooring. Lots of regular / repeat customers from the neighborhood. It's best to go during the week as weekends are crazy busy.

I'm a little indifferent... it's okay,... if you want an extremely over priced breakfast from a Bowness coffee shop, with an upscale hipster vibe... it's a nice place but i could get a bigger portion size breakfast for half the price elsewhere... so if you're actually hungry, and don't want to feel your money evaporating out of your wallet and still hungry after, then steer clear

First time in and I knew it was going to be good. Lined up to the door, standing room only, a strong indicator of its popularity. Very good food, friendly staff, and a pile of culture. I love the abstract art on the walls and the old time soda jerk furniture. The Batista's are well trained and the coffee amazingly good. Highly recommend this place

Really nice place, open decor (not crowded and cramped like some) with lots of natural light which was nice. There was no queue, I ordered quickly, the staff were efficient and friendly. So, Why only 3 stars? The food was a big let down. Good coffee, but I ordered the veggie burger with fries. The fries were more like hash browns, no problem, they could have been delicious, but they were stone cold. The veggie burger was slathered with mayo, which I dislike, and which vegans wouldn't eat,(I scraped it off) and the veggie burger itself was soft and mushy, not well cooked I guess, and not very flavourful. Not really cheap either for cold and mushy food. Though it would have been totally reasonable if the potatoes were piping hot, and the veggie Burger not mushy, better cooked, and tastier.

We used to love coming to Cadence but they are enforcing medical segregation by asking for proof of vaccination, even for take out, which is stricter then Alberta guidelines. I noticed several people being rejected, thereby excluding people for medical and religious excemptions. Humam rights violation...You have lost a loyal customer for life!
