Great spot. One of my favourite coffees in Edmonton, if not my favourite. Unfortunately, they do not have indoor seating. This is a grab and go kind of place, but its damn good coffee. And the building is beautiful. Staff is also always kind.

Excellent staff who are effecient at what they do and very friendly. The atmosphere presents the comfort of a modern café juxtaposed with the vast openness of a warehouse. They supply most of what you need to make professional tasting coffee in your own home. This however is their downfall. Both their Americano and Pour Over are sharp and bitter, either due to a poor quality roast or inferior brewing practices. Regardless I enjoyed chatting with the staff and relaxing in the comfort of the soft afternoon sun.

Like it. Another solid coffee place in Edmonton. They also sell high end espresso machines here (mostly from Italy). It's not always open, but they do roast their own beans here. That's always a plus. If I'm not mistaken, I think Coffee Bureau on Jasper Ave uses their beans.

They make amazing coffee! I usually order their coffee beans through their website and it’s a very easy process, ship via Canada post, and I usually receive it within a week. I have tried No. 1,2 and 3, 3 was my favourite! Just two espresso shots in the morning from No. 3 is enough for my head to preform the best all day long! No 2 was my least favourite, too caramely for my taste. I also love they way the mark the roasting date on their packages!

As a roastery, they have excellent beans. As a cafe, they have excellent coffee at very fair prices. The middle of the location is an espresso and coffee bar with basically everything one would need to make any kind of coffee from espresso to French press and pour over. As a coffee supply store, they have something of everything you might need from gooseneck kettles, knock boxes, aeropress, espresso tampers, pour over equipment and filter, hand grinders to machine grinders and espresso machines. Very good place with people that clearly care about coffee.

I wish this place was open 7 days a week! However, it’s only open Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Coffee is consistently amazing and very well might be the best in Edmonton. Seating is uncomfortable, which I think was done on purpose. It’s not a place where you bring a laptop and work in public. Parking is limited. Be prepared to wait multiple minutes for coffee as this place gets mad busy.

I came across this cafe while I was staying in Strathcona. It's in the backstreets but it was quite popular. Being from Australia I find most of the coffee in Canada ranges from downright disgusting to below average. ACE Roasters, however was much better than average and possibly the best coffee I've had in Canada. It's also in a brilliant and funky space that's nice to hang out and read a book or work away on a laptop on.

If you have followed my reviews then you know that I still want to know why some of these coffee dispensaries do well or better than others. Other than belong well financed and managed by a team or board of directors, can a place actually rise above the rest? It's not coffee quality necessarily or timmies wouldn't have thrived. Mickie D's serves decent Lattes and I doubt the average big Mac buyers get a latte? Ace must be a chain place as it is a huge interesting former fabric store or something. Well laid out and in an ok location it seems to attract the business. The servers were efficient but mostly a transaction oriented sale of Capp. Is it the best imo, no. Close? Maybe 7/10. That is a good score. The best coffee drinks come from European style places from probably France imo. These inquiries are important as I want to open a sandwich outlet someday and want to know by analyzing this trend to see if an independent partially financed person can succeed. So in conclusion, I am ok with this place if another local place nearby is closed or too busy.

I was amazed when I found this place. Being a coffee connoisseur or junkie (either fits) I wasn’t sure what to expect as I went in. The huge sales area, that is open and clean, was not what I expected. I had a latte and wandered around for a bit looking at equipment and other things. The staff was a little stand offish for a bit for no one approached me. I asked one of the ladies a few questions and information came out like a steam roller. We talked about the roasts, flavours, best brewing processes.. HIGLY RECOMMENDED

Open on weekends only. The coffee tastes really good. Nice and wide area to spend some time alone, with friends or your infant. The coffee tables are made of wood in a super clean and nice decor. The room next the coffee shop has lots of espresso machine that you can admire so as the roasting room. It’s heaven for coffee lovers.

Ace Coffee at west Ritchie in my humble opinion, can be considered one of the most open designed coffee roasters/shops in Edmonton. The No. 9 pourover coffee is nicely made using the cleaver dripper and the donut selection is pretty amazing as well.

Whenever I go to Edmonton, I head to Ace, and I would tread through waist high snow to get there for one of their devine lattes and a donut (2 when no one is lookin') There really is no better coffee in E. Plus the staff are always so friendly and helpful even when things were at the peak of stress during the pandemic early days. So if you are on Whyte ave and cravin the best cuppa, head a couple short blocks off the strip for warm one and relax on their lovely patio.

Having been used to Danesi beans for a number of years now, I was delighted to taste Ace's No. 3 espresso bean. The taste is so smooth and you cannot beat the freshness. The No. 1 is always very good, but being used to the Danesi I prefer the No. 3. The staff were very friendly with my orders and have helped me with orders from CafeTech for a couple years. Bottom line, the coffee here is amazing!

Tucked away just off whyte, ace is a hidden gem. Beautiful spacious building with friendly staff. Lots of people coming by on foot or by bicycle due to the lack of parking, though not impossible to find, in the area and tight streets. The selection of coffee types is small but adequate. Very good bright tasting coffee. The pastries are a bit on the pricey side but very good. The custard croissant was light and fluffy with a nice sweet custard.

My wife and I have made it our mission to try different coffee roasters from all over Canada during the Covid-19 Pandemic. Ace coffee was one of the first roasters we tried, and is now the one we compare all our other roasts to. We love a dark roast and their Ace No. 10 is simply delicious (we brew in an Espro french press). It is way better (and fresher) than 2nd wave dark roasts, and its flavor profile unique among 3rd waves. It makes mornings bearable and has become our "house" roast. Although we regularly went up to Edmonton to visit family and friends, and we have yet to visit in person. Once this entire thing blows over, Ace will be one of our first stops when visiting.

Came in for the first time for a quick coffee and was surprised to see that a customer brought their dog in and let it walk around freely barking at everyone waiting in line, It was really annoying and neither customer or staff did anything about it. Not very professional or sanitary so I definitely won't be back. Pretty sure animals aren't supposed to be in places where food and beverages are served. Plus the coffee is overpriced and wasn't very good.

One of my many Edmonton hideouts. I absolutely love their coffee! I find no need for sugar or milk (unlike other places I've tried.) I try to order something right as I run out to not loiter because I end up spending the entire day there in the corner enjoying their delicious donuts and coffee! Absolutely peaceful, though it becomes busy around noon-2. I do not mind their hours as I only have weekends off anyways. Everything is AFFORDABLE, not over priced. The bathrooms are always clean. The space is open and bright, and the walls r glass so you may watch their production. Personally, I've never had a parking issue because I'm mindful of their heavier trafficking hours. Staff is knowledgeable and polite. Beats Starbucks by a long shot with taste and prices. Coffee lovers, this is the place to be!

Very rich space - be sure to look up and see the wood structure. Love the marble countertops, too. Great coffee with plenty of roast and origin options. Very hard to understand why they've blatantly plagiarized the Royal Air Force roundel for their logo (which closely associates to the roundel of the Royal Canadian Air Force). It's unmistakable. I could maybe see it if they had some mention of the RAF on their webpage explaining some kind of connection (maybe to the concept of a flying ace?). Disrespectful to those that served and gave their lives for our freedom over the past 100 years of RAF history. Simply not possible that Ace was not aware of this. While the roundel is not protected under copyright this doesn't make this appropriation acceptable. The more I think of it this is just baffling. I just don't get it. Open to the company giving some kind of explanation here.

ACE has such a wonderful atmosphere and delicious espresso. Their menu is simple and well put together. This is a great place to spend a few hours visiting with friends or doing homework. They have a great patio, beautiful plants, and rustic and unique seating. They have clean, gender neutral bathrooms. They have a selection of donuts daily: three cakey donuts (brown butter, pistachio, double chocolate), one glazed, and three filled (custard, apricot jam, and nutella). ACE also has a good selection of French presses and espresso making products.

Ok, I did my taste test this weekend, comparing double espressos. My ranking in terms of taste from highest to lowest is: ACE Cafe (#2 Blend), Credo, Starbucks, Transcend, and Italian Centre (95 Street). Consistency of results vary based on grind, tamping, temperature, pressure and time and machines used, as well as the roasting and blending of the beans. Currently, ACE Café is only open Friday-Sunday, but it is worth the trip.

Ace gets their donuts from Leva, and Ace does the roasting. He had an empty space doing nothing so made another great cafe. Even Bucky could smell the roasting. Ace is The Place, with all due respect to the American hardware chain.French toast for 2 @ $7.50 a marvellous way to learn about their quality. The folks working here are friendly and knowledgeable, a rarity these days.

The coffee here is what you'd expect from a nice local roaster, and the space is very cute. Cool selection of fancy espresso machines & coffee equipment to look at while you wait too. The doughnuts are normally a highlight here, though the pastry cream/custard in mine wasn't set properly and made a mess. My only major complaint is that this place has all the atmosphere of a mausoleum. Like, lighten up, y'all!

I went on Saturday with my wife. The store is a beautiful place and very good coffee. My only complaint would be the staff and service. They were pretentious and dismissive.

It's hard to have good coffee and sweets in a location but they got it. I don't understand why ppl are complaining on why they have only donuts and some of them saying it's small or basic. The chocolate was overwhelming, but I believe they have some real good donuts and totally worth it. Great atmosphere too
