Unfortunate experience with this rug cleaning company - a man named Duane picked up my rug in an unmarked van and wasn't necessarily rude but was very unprofessional. Other reviews have stated similar behaviour with this employee, with a response from the business owner claiming he had been fired which does not appear to be true. Weeks later my rug is dropped off and after being assured that so much dirt came out of it I unravel the rug to find it hadn't been cleaned at all. I called and they picked it up the next day saying it must have been missed. After the rug being picked up for the second time, I had to be the one to call back weeks later to have the rug dropped off for the final time. All that and the rug still has a lingering odour and some debris remaining- although the price seemed cheaper than other places it is definitely not worth it based on my experience. I hope they can figure things out with their business.

We had these folks pick up and clean 7 "Persian" wool area rugs of assorted sizes. We suspected moth infestation in our rugs that had never been cleaned beyond vacuuming in 20 years (!) We were given thorough information regarding chemicals methods and costs. We couldn't be more pleased with both the quality of the cleaning and the courteous manner of both the owner Elaine and her son Andrew. We recommend them highly.

**Update** Initially I didn’t have the greatest experience, however the owner of the company reached out to me and went above and beyond to make sure that the situation I experienced doesn’t happen again, and was incredibly sweet when reaching out to me to apologize for the circumstances and make sure I was satisfied. ——— They showed up 15 minutes late, in a dirty unmarked van, and the driver refused to leave the van until he finished his cigarette (even though I had come downstairs to let him in - made me wait another 10 minutes). He was very conversational and discussed a lot of offensive and uncomfortable topics, and interrupted his work to “chat” with me multiple times. The actual carpet was better - he got the main stains out that I had called them for, but he didn’t even clean the full carpet, just the stains. When he left, he left a huge mess all over the linoleum on the way to the carpeted room - a lovely long trail of dirty water from the cleaner. Overall it was an uncomfortable experience, and I will not be calling them again.

Horrible experience- My carpet was damaged by the machine! The guy Duane is very chatty, he talked about many controversial/ uncomfortable topics. He even interrupted his work to “chat” with me. He started talking about China just because I’m Chinese, and what’s worse is he made strong and partial statements about my home country. I respect his freedom of speech but I don’t think making customer uncomfortable is included in his job description. Does this sound familiar to you? Yes, if you read the previous reviews, someone (Meara S.) wrote the similar review and the owner claimed this guy has been fired. Which seems like a lie to me, looks like this same guy is still working. Well, Let’s side aside Duane’s personality for now and discuss the actual cleaning result. Take a look at my pics below, this is what Coastal Carpet Cleaners left me - a long, straight line of damage in one place. And another rip in another place. Now I have to find a carpet repair service and spend another hundreds of bucks. He worked the machine on the carpet too violently, what’s worse is he didn’t even get rid of some small stains. I just want to get my carpet cleaned and this is where I end up with. And another thing to mention is he left dirty water stains on my newly cleaned wood floor. And him walking around with his boots on only enlarged the stained area. ( how hard is it to wear a pair of shoe cloths?) After his work, this guy sat straight onto my spin chair without my permission, left sweat on my chair, just gross. This is a total waste of money, if you don’t want to have new damage to your good carpet, then turn around and find another company. The woman on the phone is pretty nice and professional, she explained everything to me. I did not expect that the actual work and the cleaning guy would be such a a mess.

Horrible/rude customer service. Called for an estimate on our area rug. I had called other carpet cleaning services prior and this was the most expensive quote given. When I politely declined the service, the woman scoffed on the phone said: what did you expect, it to be $20 bucks?

Value for money is excellent. The young guy did an excellent job with the carpet. Definitely quiet and seemed exhausted, probably had a long day. Could work on his customer service presence a bit; could've thrown in a thanks for payment or "Have a nice day" or something at the end, but the cleaning itself was very thorough.

My review is a little different then your traditional review. We did use this company to clean our carpets, unfortunately we caught them at an odd time with them moving locations, having their number changed, and all the other fun things that go along with running a business. Our carpets unfortunately were not cleaned to our standard. We still had a nasty moldy smell on them. We called them and said how unhappy we were, and we were offered a free deep cleaning. We denied and asked for a refund and had no problem getting that back in full. You might be wondering, why the hell would someone rate a company 4 stars if the service wasn't what they expected? Reason is, every business has their days where they don't perform the best, instead of telling us "all sales are final" we were treated like a friend who had let you down and I think that's a big showing of how this company works. I think its important to not only celebrate the good, but acknowledge the bad and how a company deals with unhappy customers. Although we did not have a successful consumer to business transaction, I would still refer people to this establishment knowing they will be treated well. - T

I thoroughly researched carpet cleaning services in Vic before landing on Coastal. I received good service from beginning to end. Elaine was extremely courteous and knowledgable on the phone, even taking time to look at my product via its webpage. Andrew picked up and dropped off the rugs right on time and though there was some confusion about delivery, their price for the service made the wait more than bearable. While its nice supporting a family business, I must add that perhaps a bit more professional of an appearance could be attained with some better branding - the SUV that was used to pick up our carpets had me second guessing my choice for a little while...and having the deliveries done by someone in a branded shirt would do wonders for the business' appearance and give it free advertising! Just my 0.02 being in marketing.

Called me repeatedly to book cleaning. Booked for 1 pm. Showed up late. Worker reeked of cigarette smoke. Was unable to do the job because of the stairs!! Called the office to complain and they hung up on us!! STAY AWAY!!!!!

Professional, efficient, and punctual. Duane was here within 30 minutes of our S.O.S. call. The only company who would come out at short notice. Did I mention it was 5pm end of work day?! Didn’t matter to Duane cuz’ he had a great attitude was respectful, efficient and very kind. Really thank you sooooo much. I will call again. We moved into our new house on Aug 4th and had them clean the carpets with their hypoallergenic cleaning solutions as we both suffer from allergies to strong chemicals. they were able to clean away all of the previous owners' pet residues and smells and left the carpet in an excellent cleaned state. We then used them near the end of august to clean our rental suite that we were vacating. The suite had 7 yrs of no carpet washing done (no maintenance from LL) but only vacuuming. Again, they cleaned the place fantastically and left the carpets near to their original color (arctic white) as possible given 7 years of wear and tear. They were punctual, professional, clean, exercised social spacing while we were cleaning around them, and courteous when we asked questions. The pricing was reasonable and we will probably use them again on future home maintenance. 100% would recommend to anyone.
