I Googled for someone to remove it and found Vancouver Home Maintenance and gave them a call based on positive reviews. I called these guys up a couple of years ago because I needed the eves cleaned on my house. I spoke with a guy named James who I later found out was the owner. I scheduled an appointment and the workers came on schedule. Because my house was 3 stories high it was a lot more difficult to access the gutters than originally expected. James honored the original commitment and gave us that rate despite the job taking significantly longer than expected. Another time I called in with a big project that wasn't Vancouver Home Maintenance's area of specialization. James referred me to another contractor who was able to do good quality work for me at a reasonable price. I have dealt with them three separate times and my experience has always been positive. Also, they almost always pickup the phone when I call which is awesome! In a world of shady contractors and flaky operators these guys have been doing some good work for a while. -Paul

I approved the quote in April. The crew showed up in June, but didn't have a roofer and left without telling me why. By now, I have not been told when my service will be scheduled. I called several times and even emailed James - the owner, but all I got is "We received your request. It is in our queue to get sorted out. We will be in touch with further information via email or phone call for the job schedule date". My experience with this company has been less than courteous. Updated: After reading the review here, the owner called me and rectified the scheduling and lack of communication issue. I finally got my roof cleaned. The roof & gutter service and windows washing service were done well and the crew cleaned up after themselves. I am happy with the quality of their work so I changed to four stars.

When I called they promised a written estimate by email within 24 hours and it arrived as promised. They were able to send a crew within a few days and when they did I was very impressed. From initial estimate to the final clean-up these guys were wonderful. I have a steeply pitched roof with a few skylights that needed cleaning and some gutters I can't reach myself. Not only was the estimate pretty spot-on (given they didn't know exactly what my roof looked like) but the two guys they sent (Nick and Julian) were incredibly professional. While they were clearing the moss and dirt off the roof, I could see tons of it falling off and on to my deck. I left for work and by the time I came back, their clean-up job was so thorough you'd never know they'd been there except for the clean skylights. I'm only using this team from now on. Our house is so bright and clean! They cleaned everything: the moss on the roof and gutters, the sides of the house, my walkways and driveway, all our retaining walls, and even our tool shed. In hindsight, I wish I took some before and after pictures to show off the wonderful job they did. It is sometimes hard to see the grime and moss/mold build up when you are not looking for it (or actually trying to avoid seeing it). I first contemplated doing it myself with my brothers, but after watching them work, the job would have taken us forever, a lot of stress with inadequate equipment, possible injury, and in the end—much poorer results. The guys that came were super-nice, timely, knowledgeable, meticulous, and very hard-working. I chose these guys based on their informative website and Google reviews. I asked for pictures of the before and after and a report re roof status and James said they would do that/no problem. His team came out to do estimate same day. So far so good. I was told someone would come out next day to do job. Did not happen but they called me and said it would be next day. I am ok with that too. On the next day, guys showed up but some sort of issue and they told my father in law they would return next day. After that, I was emailed an invoice so figured work was done. I Looked out my 2nd floor window and saw water pooled/debris still present on the detached garage. Detached garage was obviously not completed. Stepped onto my 2nd floor patio from bedroom and one of drain plugs for gutter (?octopus drain I believe) was just sitting on the edge of the roof and not capped back after they cleaned the gutters. So what I could see there was some issues -- made me concerned if anything else was missed that I could NOT see. I sent James pictures of this via email and left him a voice mail. No apology was given at that time and I was emailed that someone would come out to fix/take care. When the men returned few days later (after the weekend) to fix, I was called by worker and he apologized to me. He said that the garage was a total oversight as it was dark and he apologized. I asked if the octopus drain was capped again. He did not know about this/said he was not told about this...some lack of communication again. He just told me my roof is fine otherwise and they would put the cap back on. At the end, I am /was left hoping that nothing else was missed. I never did receive the pictures before/after or any other report. Just a few invoice reminders with a link to 30$ off my next invoice if I wrote a review. It would have been nice to get a call from James personally to see how they could have made it better. Perhaps, if they still reach out to me I would still give them another chance next time -- as maybe it was a one off based on the other reviews. In the end I believe everything got sorted out, but there seems to be some lack of communication internally. Update since review done earlier today: James received the review and was quick to call me back. He was very apologetic and said he appreciated the review. He mentioned the entire team had reviewed together and was an opportunity to get better and improve as a company. I will give them another chance next time around work is needed, and hopefully they can wow me with the next experience have things go more smoothly.

Exceptional job! Great attention to detail. Very large property was pressure washed ( decks, balconies, granite walkways, driveway,steps and glass railings cleaned). Approx 40 LARGE plants in pots and garden furniture had to moved and put back . The job was done perfectly. Some other quotes were cheaper but I chose Vancouver Home Maintenance based on other reviews and I can see why they usually get 5 star ratings. Whenever I have dealt with James, the principal at Vancouver Home Maintenance, I have found him and his team very accommodating and awesome. His team has always exceeded my expectations.
