Purchased my second vehicle from Fredericton VW this week. My first one was purchased in 2006 (2003 Jetta) so goes to show the longevity. This week I purchased a new 2017 Jetta, Ryan (sales) and Troy (Finance) were both fantastic to deal with. Couldn't have asked for an easier, stress free experience not to mention the outstanding, class leading warranty through VW. With that being said, the owner Rob and his staff replied with great magnanimity. They ackonowledged their short comings rather than trying to make excuses - which was crucial for me re-gaining respect and trust for this organization. I understand the difficulty in being a mechanic and understand mistakes are made, I just happened to be on the end of a lot of them. Rob and his staff have gone above and beyond to correct their faults, which was important to me as a VW owner of over a decade, and my family driving VW all while growing up.

What amazing Service, over the phone & in person! I was on my way back to Ottawa from visiting family in NS; engine light came on in St. Andrews NB with a ton of codes! I called the dealership in Fredricton and spoke to the Service dept. and he took the time to ease my mind, gave me advice & even spoke to the garage where I had stopped. Our cat peed on the seat of our brand new jetta on the way to the vet, and with one quick call we were able to bring our car in so they could shampoo the seat for us right away for free. My wife and I choose Fredericton Volkswagen over our local dealership here in Saint John for a couple of reasons. They make you feel so welcome, it’s not that uncomfortable car dealership feel. Our salesman Ryan was able to provide us with the quotes while sitting at his desk. There was no running to the managers office to get “the numbers”. We have a new baby and a dog and we weren’t sure which model would be right for our family and they let us spend some extra time with each suv model. My wife needed to feed our child and the sales manager Dan offered up his office so she would have some where private. Lastly we were walked around the dealership and introduced to different people including the service department. When it came to sale they gave us the time to decide with out making numerous calls. We don’t have enough good things to say about our experience with Ryan, Dan and Rob. Thanks for making us part of the family.

May 2018 we purchased our Golf Sport wagon from Fredericton Volkswagen. We traded our 2008 EOS which we loved. Jenna Dunbar provided detailed information about all the Volkswagon models and made our purchase seamless. The dealership made an effort to find the wagon we wanted. I had used the service department many times for my EOS. Service staff are very professional and knowledgeable. We have chosen this dealership over our local one. VW First of all I want to say that this review doesn’t apply to the service department. Morgan at the front desk and all the mechanics are great. Do not buy a vehicle from Fredericton VW. The sales team is terrible. We have always stuck with a certain salesman elsewhere to buy or vehicles. But this time we seen a used Jeep that we really wanted (2016 Trailhawk) from VW and it was a deal we couldn’t resist. So we took a chance and bought it from them. I had heard not great reviews about the customer service before but I gave them the benefit of the doubt. I didn’t own the Jeep 3 weeks and it had major drivetrain issues. With only 67000 Km on it. I know I took a chance buying used but I’m not picking apart the sales team for that and the chance I took. It was what happened after. After 2 days of the Jeep being in the shop, I lost 2 days of work and I live an hour away. It cost me almost 1000$ Just in downtime. So numerous trips to town later I decided it was best to get rid of the Jeep and buy a new vehicle( because it had so Many issues and warranty was almost up, I couldn’t risk keeping the Jeep if I’m already having all these problems in the first 3 weeks). I brought this up to Dan at VW just to see if I can at least get some gas cards to cover some of my cost of dealing with all the issues or a reimbursement of the admin fee (499$) because I had to pay that again with the new vehicle. (Remember I just bought the Jeep from them 3 months ago). Dan told me there is nothing they can or will do for me. He was very un professional, He told me to be an Adult about this and to suck it up. Bad things happen to good people sometimes. So you be the judge, but that last paragraph sums up my experience there.

I am a resident of Saint John, but I bought and service my VW in Fredericton. I find the service department fast, friendly, and through. I recently had my car in for a bearing replacement, and without a scheduled appointment, they managed to take it for a test drive, get me in, and a new bearing within 20 minutes. I was shocked. I have had to wait for haircuts longer than that! Nevertheless, their service is top notch, and to me, It is worth the extra gas money and the hour drive to know that I am leaving my Passat in the hands of technicians that are both capable and trustworthy. Unprofessional and totally unacceptable customer service in this branch! We were in the middle of a deal, even checked the car by our mechanic and was waiting for them to get back to us. But they got back and said the car is gone! Someone else bought it!! ***update*** To clarify my point here (after seeing their customer service reply): During this process, no one from the dealership called to ask if we are willing to purchase the car as is! We told them that we are serious about buying this car, waiting for them to check the issues that our mechanic mentioned, and get back to us. VolksWaggon shop (not surprisingly!) confirmed the necessity of fixing the issues upon the sales department request to recheck the car (which they previously assured us that it is already done and they are super savvy about it). They agreed to fix one item and told us they will get back ti us for the rest. "Being professional and responsible" would be to just call back before putting this car back in the market and say, "Hey! we know these problems exist but we're not fixing them and we're not dropping the price. so do you want this car or no?" Their method of choice: sending an email that said: we are not fixing the car [although we prevoiusly told you that we would] and we already sold it to someone else! Goodluck!

The service department at Fredericton VW is very untrustworthy and will tell you car needs an abundance of unneeded parts constantly. If they say your car needs anything done to it, consult a mechanic you trust before getting any work done to the vehicle. For 6 years they have badgered me to put parts on my car that where not necessary or work that had been already done and they still claimed it needed replacing. When I said no to these ridiculous claims they even started calling me at home to try and get me back in the shop. Here are just a couple examples out of many I will share. 1: They told me 2 years ago that my front brakes where basically gone. I told them I would have them looked at and they tried to use fear mongering to get me to commit to the work right there. I left and had them inspected by another mechanic and he told me I should get another 2 or 3 years out of them and they lasted that long. This year (2 years from the date they told me to replace them) I had the front brakes replaced in January. In February I took it to VW for an oil change because VW had cross threaded my oil plug during my previous service. The brakes at this point are 1 month old and the service manager said they need replacing right away. I ask them to explain this and they could not give me an answer. The service manager backpedaled and kept talking about "my safety" to change the conversation and never gave me answer. . 2: I asked my wife to drop my car off for a service appointment as I was going to be away. I had replaced the air and cabin filters myself the day prior to a service appointment as it was recommended and I did not want to huge mark ups. They told me over the phone that they checked my air filter and cabin filter and they needed to be replaced. I asked how this was possible since it was all ready done. Again, more back pedaling and another list of things to replace. Afterward, they told my wife that my brakes needed replacing and tried to get her pay to have it done as I had all ready told them no. This is basically how every service appointment has gone over the time I have owned the vehicle. I will never perchance another Volks vehicle because of this dealership and their service department. To be honest the sale experience was not great either when I bought the car, but I really liked it. I have regretted it ever since. I had such good luck with Chrysler and Ford that I should have not switched.

**Since posting this, the owner has contacted me and fixed the issues stated below with the car, and apologized for the lack of communication and professionalism from the team.** We had our car in to have an issue addressed & when I went to pick the car up, I hadn't even left the parking lot and the problem was still evident. Brought the car back, the initial issue was resolved but then our power steering stopped working? The parts manager, Adam, scoffed at me when I asked if the power steering fluid was down (I did not realize it was all electronic) because I had been told by another employee there that there is a reserve for steering fluid. We had the car in there 5 times & nothing ever got fixed properly + there would always been something else that needed to get fixed to address the other issue. It was quite alarming to us that our car was "good to go" every time we'd show up to pick it up, yet I couldn't use my steering wheel. It was dangerous and super unprofessional that they would even allow the car to leave the bay in the state it was. Mark & Morgan are great customer service people, but no one is on the same page there - it's quite disappointing + irritating. We will be taking both of our Volkswagen to Dieppe to be serviced from now on.

October 2018 i had filed a rust warranty claim. Nearly two years later AND a 2016 jetta from that dealership later, i found out my claim has been closed because the dealer “called” me and couldnt get in contact with me. Although they could certainly reach me if they wanted me to come in and buy a brand new car! I thought this customer service was great, but not anymore. The blame has really been placed on me even though i had called a few times asking whats going on and they said they would call me. Now my vehicles out of the policy, much more rust is on the vehicle. Extremely disheartening as a loyal vw lover. Will not be returning.

This review will sound like a set-up but here’s the truth: If you’re thinking of buying a car, you can quit searching now and call Fredericton VW. They’re brilliant. I’m a suspicious older dame who looks sideways at auto dealerships, car salespeople and most dealer mechanics. But right from the start, the folks at FVW were straightforward, kind, honest and helpful. Not pushy. They patiently answered my 1,001 questions in person and via email. When I bought a second-hand Golf back in March, they excavated all repair records and were transparent about its history. When I traded in that vehicle (the Golf was great, but I decided to swallow hard and get a new car in July), they handled the trade-in generously and found the perfect Jetta. All financial dealings went smoothly, and follow-up has been reassuring. We live in strange times when the words “honourable” and “integrity” mean little. But at Fredericton VW, they seem to mean everything. Speaking of strange times, the dealership is extremely careful about managing Covid-19 which, as an older person, I appreciate beyond measure.

Staff are not in your face but they are very accommodating and don't forget that you're there. Tried to buy a car from this place on two seperate occasions. Tried to get a GTI, had everything all drawn up and went in to sign my paperwork and get my keys and they tried to get me to sign off on a +$100 more monthly payment than we had talked about the day before. Went back the next year because my gf wanted a beetle and they low balled us super hard for a trade in. Went to St John VW and got ten thousand more for our trade in. Drive to St John. It's worth it. Don't trust these people. They're crooks.

I want to start with saying that I don't usually write reviews unless I feel I have received service that I qualify as above and beyond. I recently purchased a pre-owned vehicle from an out of province Lexus dealership in QC. Due to the COVID restrictions I was not allowed to travel to QC to go buy it and inquired about shipping the vehicle. The dealership in QC advised they could not ship it to my home address but would inquire with a dealership in the area to have it shipped to their location. VW Fredericton accepted to have the vehicle shipped to their location. They in no way had to do that as they were not making any profit on the sale of this vehicle. Once my vehicle arrived, the exterior was dirty due to shipping. I was planning on stopping at a car wash to wash it on my way home but the Sales Manager offered to clean the exterior of the vehicle for free! Once again keep in mind the VW was not making profit on this vehicle they purely assisted in delivery. I will be returning for servicing for sure!
