Needed a move-in clean. I got a quote by email and booked them a month in advance. They phoned me a week ahead of time asking to change the appointment, and I agreed to the new date, as it was more convenient for me. I guess somewhere in the communications they never got given the address for the clean???
They sent me an email the night before, but I never got it because it went to junk mail. I drove the hour to meet them at the new house the morning of the clean, and...they didn't show up. Called them right away and got a busy signal but left a message. Half an hour later, I finally got through, and they told me that they would not be coming because they didn't have the address - and they had cancelled the move-out clean I had booked for the other house as well.
They said that that morning when they didn't have my address they had decided to book a standby client for my time. They had not gone to the standby client's house yet. They said they would call the standby client they had booked and ask if they could reschedule, but they didn't think the standby client would go for that, as they really needed them. I pointed out that I really needed them in order to be able to move things into my house, and it was indeed time-critical for me, too, and they said that it was my fault because I should have made sure that their emails wouldn't go to junk mail (their emails had never gone to my junk mail before then - sometimes email clients decide to change how they handle certain emails without our input). I asked why they didn't just call me when they didn't have my address the night before and they said they had lost my phone number (since they called me the week before).
They refused to budge on helping me and maintained their decision to cancel both cleaning dates, despite their error in losing my phone number. It took a week to find a new cleaner and my move was majorly delayed as a result, as well as the replacement cleaners not doing a very good job.
