We were given a quote advised a 50% deposit would be required prior to the job, and the remainder to be paid upon completion. However, we were bullied into paying double the estimated cost of the job before the job began, which is 4x the 50% deposit.
Our credit card was charged the full amount - not the deposit, which was what was agreed upon via email correspondence. We were then told our credit card was not accepted, but were not told what the error message was. The error on Service Master's end resulted in a double payment on our credit card. Not only were we charged the full estimate twice, but I was treated very poorly by the manager when I was asking questions to understand what was happening.
We were accused myself of not having the integrity or the funds to pay for the job upon completion (after we had already been chard the FULL estimate). He could not provide me with any information as to why the credit card looked like it hadn't gone through. And did nothing to investigate further. He wouldn't accept a 50% damage deposit while we figured out what "went wrong" with the credit card in the first place
He almost refused to do the job (after having received the FULL amount, not just the 50% the deposit).
Between the credit card mix ups and the rudeness I experienced from the manager, I am extremely dissatisfied with the level of service I received as a paying customer.
I do not feel the situation was handled with respect or integrity. I would definitely not recommend Service Master to anyone I know.
