Since my daughter had moved away and after totaling two of my vehicles I could not afford a third one so I came all the way from Amherstview with one queen size comforter and one queen size blanket in my cart. I brought it to Findall's since my daughter had lived right near there on Leroy Grant and recommended them to me. It was convenient as well as my Doctor was right around the corner too so I brought them in when I had an appointment.
Now this was during the summer on a hot day. Maybe because I brought them in a cart I almost felt like the person who took them from me looked down on me as she was dressed as if ready to go to a fancy dinner.
Anyways, i paid almost $75 for the 2 of them to get cleaned!! I thought OK, if that's what I have to pay at least they are done.
Now I had lost my part time job and being only on ODSP at least my son helped me with paying for them to get cleaned.
After paying that much you can imagine my anger when I turned over my blanket (as it's reversible) to the other side about 6 months later, as this was the one I used during the winter months, and saw several ketchup stains that had not been removed!!!! I felt as if they had only thrown it into the dryer and didn't even put it through the dry cleaning process.
I had taken these same two "blankets" for years when I lived on Pembridge Crescent and brought it to a place that I forget the name of, but they were on Taylor Kidd Blvd at Milford Drive right beside the Bayridge Animal Hospital in that little strip mall. These blankets had been covered with ketchup, mustard, and even, unfortunately, one of my son's friends got sick on one of them. NEVER did I get ANY of them back with ANY stains, even grease ones that I had forgot to mention to them!! I always felt that my items were just as important to them as the Police uniforms that they handled.
YES, this happened 2 years ago and I debated writing anything at all but having lost several other dry cleaners and I see that Findall's is owned and operated by Hillary's and they seem to be everywhere.
I am feeling that I will have no choice but the take my blankets and go and find a laundromat that has large capacity washers and do them myself as I no longer trust that brand of dry cleaners.
