We used Bill's Quality Pest Control for 3 consecutive years for spider removal at our lakefront property. The first two years worked very well and Bill was very friendly and seemed like a reliable, honest business owner. Our third year proved this untrue. We asked for the spider spray to be applied, came home after work a few weeks later to find an invoice in our door, called the same day to have it confirmed that the spray was indeed applied and paid with mastercard over the phone. Four weeks later, we still had tons of spiders everywhere. I looked back to the invoice to confirm that there was still the 60 day guarantee that Bill had originally sold us on two years before, and there was, it was stated right on the invoice. I called and explained the spray didn't seem to have worked and I was told, "no problem, we will be out next week to re-spray". Perfect, I thought, until two weeks went by and no one had come and the spiders were growing and making nests and webs everywhere. I called again and was told, "sorry, we have been really busy, we will be there by the end of the week". Again, no one came and I called again to hear the same thing. They told me the same thing for several weeks in a row. I called every week for 7 consecutive weeks, at which point I was out of the guaranteed time period but I was determined to have someone follow up on their guarantee since I had been letting them know of the problem only four weeks into it. I had paid for spider removal that simply did not happen and at this point we were into September and the spiders and webs had gotten so big, and there were so many of them, that on a daily basis we had to sweep them down and we were unable to enjoy the patio, hot tub or swing set without having spiders all over us. Finally, I called and said that I understood at this point in the year spider removal may not be worthwhile but I would like to discuss a refund or a deal for next year. Sadly, this message was left twice and I didnt so much as get a courtesy call back. I have never received such disrespectful costumer service and clearly the quality of the service I paid for is lacking as well. Their written guarantee they use to sell the service is only as good as their word, which has been proven to mean nothing. We would never recommend them for any service based on this experience with them.
I am very disappointed to discover bill's response to my original review. To clarify some details, our first year we did call them back once and we were told that it was likely necessary due to either a significant rain following the initial spray or due to the property not being sprayed for a couple years prior (he did do the previous owners spraying but not for a couple of years as the property sat unoccupied). The second year we did NOT call back for a respray. The third year, I truly believe was never actually sprayed at all because when he does spray, he does an excellent job. But we had no decrease in spiders after receiving our invoice, and if he did in fact come out to the property when we called for a respray he would have seen numerous large spiders and webs. Also, if he had come out to assess the property, I would think he would have told me so instead of continuously telling me it would be "next week". I was disappointed in his lack of professionalism in ignoring my calls and I am further disappointed in learning he felt taken advantage of (which is certainly not the case!) and I really wish we could have had a professional, adult conversation either in person or over the phone to discuss our problem as opposed to me being told "next week I'll be out" for several weeks in a row and then finally ending our relationship with him not returning my calls at all and me resorting to posting a bad review. Honesty is important in life and especially in successful small business.
Bottom line, bill initially seemed like a great guy and when he sprays it works and is fantastic, but my opinion of his character has been greatly compromised due to my experience and the lack of professionalism following.
