We are doing some big reno jobs at our home in Logan Lake & John was able to fix it all at a reasonable rate. Not only did he fix the plumbing, but he & apprentice Craig were fun to work around. John changed out our kitchen faucet for a Moet which he selected, and which style perfectly suits our needs. He was friendly, helpful, non-intrusive, willing to listen and able to carry out the job completely to our satisfaction--in the time frame we had to work with. Update: Dec. 26th, 2017--John returned to us on Boxing Day when we woke up to frozen pipes and no water in the house. He followed the pipe through drywall and other obstruction until he found the problem--the pipe was literally exposed to outside frigid air. John then went home, came back with his own insulation and packed it into the cavity. With the pipe thawed, our water came back on and we now know the root cause of our problem. He is a good, kind, thorough and determined man who priced all his efforts fairly.

Our hot water tank sprung a leak on Thursday night. We called and left a message that evening. Early Friday morning John called back to say he was booked up till 3:00 pm but could assist us after that. He asked the pertinent questions to assess the situation and figure out for us what size and type of water heater would best meet our needs. He provided excellent advice for getting a more energy efficient model with a longer warranty and a $200 rebate from Fortis... i.e., best bang for our buck. John came after 3:00 pm with the new tank and installed it, took away the old one and cleaned everything up nicely. Very friendly, professional, prompt and helpful. Highly recommended!

Highly recommend! We have an older house that has had water pressure issues for years. Temperature Pressure valve on hot water tank kept releasing. Water pressure fluctuated in the system with no obvious explanation. John was very helpful in looking over our system, explaining his assessments and work, and replacing only parts that needed replacement. Three weeks and counting and pressure is stable in the whole house and no more water release from the hot water tank. John was extremely courteous, did an efficient, clean job and was even willing to look at another issue (cleaning a blocked drain) while waiting between tasks. Value for money and better yet, problem effectively solved. Thanks John!

We had a clogged kitchen sink and plans to go away for weekend. We contacted John at 1st Choice and told him of our wish to get the clog cleared before we left, knowing it was late afternoon and we were leaving early the next day. John had just completed a job and heading to the next but told us he might be able to fit us in that day or first thing the following morning. As we did not expect him until the following day we were surprised at him calling after supper. Now we were unavailable however he arrived first thing in the morning. He was prepared and equipped to tackle the problem promptly considering the clog was quite a distance down the drain. He provided advice on preventing future clogs and a maintenance plan. We found 1st Choice to be friendly, prompt, professional and competitively priced. They are certainly deserving of this rating.

I can not begin to describe how thankful I am to John. I discovered water in my basement and a leak and called him. Being a holiday I really didn't expect him to respond. Not only did he respond by came over at 11.30 pm. He assessed the situation and called the city to have the main water line shut off. He stayed until the city showed which was almost 1 am. He then came over the next morning bright and early and fixed the problem. He suggested some improvements and the cost was so reasonable for the amount of time this man spent at my house.
