Unfortunately, our experience with KCC started out strong but ended up as a disappointment. The technician was friendly and the carpets looked great. It wasn’t until afterwards that we noticed damage done to a section of oak flooring and walls up a stairwell.
Our problem was with who I assume is the owner of the company. When we brought the damage to his attention, his immediate response was to place blame on the house cleaning company we had in. When that was easily disputed, he became very defensive and impossible to work with. He was invited to come up and look at the area of concern in person, he wasn’t interested in doing that. I offered to fix it myself if they were too busy but requested a partial refund to cover costs and again, wasn’t interested in that either.
It was extremely disappointing to have our experience end on such a negative note. The damage done was documented and very obviously done (what I can only assume was accidentally, which I’m also fine with, things happen) at the hand of the technician. The owner received his money and could not have cared less after the transaction was done. The house was a big job and we were hoping to find someone that could come back on a consistent basis. We will not be using this company to fill those needs. Again, the actual job done was satisfactory. It wasn’t until things came to light afterwards that left us appalled at this companies attitude towards its customers and would therefore not recommend them to anyone. I believe who you really are comes out in times of difficulty and this company was rude, offensive and unwilling to have a mature conversation to settle this amicably.

As an edit to this review (as I see the owner has also edited his response), I am not located in Calgary, I live in the location this incident occurred at. Your employee saw and conversed with myself and my husband during his time here. However, I’m not sure what that point even has to do with anything?
Secondly, it’s stated his equipment cannot strip hardwood floors...has this been attempted and or tested to be able to honestly state this certain claim?
Thirdly, I’m unsure what the comment about not being able to cause this damage with a home owner being present means either. Are you assuming the owner followed the employee around for the 8 or so hours he was here, working, to ensure no damage was done? Because that was certainly not the case. I’m unclear as to how the owner being in the vicinity has anything to do with causing or not causing damage. Any additional noises would have easily been drowned out by the sound of the cleaning machine. The employee wore ear protection to help give an idea of the volume that this type of equipment produces.
And lastly, we have repeatedly communicated that we don’t believe this was done intentionally. Why the owner insists on stating how he would never do this intentional damage is beyond me. I imagine it is an attempt to discredit our review and paint us as irrationally angry customers. Not once did we behave in a manner that could be interpreted as angry, unapproachable or irrational. I wish I could say we were given the same respect.
I am (unfortunately) unable to post the photos of the damage on here. There is a direct correlation with the rise and run of the stairs and the rise and run markings on the wall.

By the number of edits and deletions that the owner has made in his response to this review, tells me that he responded rudely, and knows he repeatedly handled the customers concern incorrectly . I stand by my one star review.
