Due to a broken supply hose on our dishwasher, the kitchen island in which it was situated was damaged and the ceiling in the family room below was flooded. We had a considerable delay while the insurance company looked for ways to shift liability to the appliance manufacturer which was quite frustrating.
However, eventually Belfor was given the green light to proceed and our experience changed very positively.
First we were introduced to a delightful woman named Maggie. Her role was to coordinate, schedule and manage all of the stages of the repair process. She is a wonderful person with whom to work. She communicated constantly with us letting us know what work would be done, what day, what time and about how long it would take. Quickly realizing that as retirees we like to sleep in, she tried her best to schedule afternoon appointments. As we have two energetic ShiTzu puppies, Maggie always called about 10 minutes in advance of workers arriving to let us get the dogs isolated.
The workers who came to do the work, Adam and Greg were a treat to have in our home. Beginning with their first visit they always arrived masked in accordance with the pandemic guidelines immediately putting us at ease. They were outgoing, polite and excellent craftsmen with their finished work looking better than when the ceiling was new.
We are now waiting for a cabinet making company to complete the replacement island. Maggie stays in touch, keeping us informed of estimated completion time and scheduled installation, plus coordinating sub-trades like electricians who will be involved shortly.
Our experience was frustrating at first while Belfor was kept on hold by the insurance company and also by the pandemic, but when turned loose our experience with Belfor, especially with Maggie, Adam and Greg has been nothing but positive.
I would use Belfor again, or recommend them to a friend in a heartbeat!!
