Very knowledgeable staff. Went in to talk guns and then ended up buying a wood insert. Love the wood heat - uses a 10th of the wood we used in the fireplace .
We contacted Guardian to have an inspection of our 40 yr old fireplace to determine if it was still safe to use and options for it's future use. After all was said and done we had them install a Regency Classic I2400 wood-stove insert and have found it to be a vast improvement over the fireplace. Our experience with the owners and staff, all of whom provided valuable information from start to finish, was excellent and professional. They were timely and did what they said they would do for a fair price. Their obvious experience in this field was well worth the wait. Thank-you for your service. Doug Tottenham, Union Bay BC
Guardian installed a Regency wood stove and chimney for me. Nothing but problems with this unit from the start. Guardian helped the first time with replacing the door handle because it wouldn't damper down with a poor seal. This however didn't help and the stove continued to "over fire" I made many complaints but after some time Guardian decided I was burning "salt water wood" and it was completely my fault the stove was junk! I burn Fir and Hemlock, my neighbors burn the same wood from the same supply gathered at the same time in their Pacific Energy stove is fine! Very bad service from the company!
Went here looking for a free standing gas stove. They were very helpful and very knowledgeable

Absolutely disgusted with this company.. The driver of their install truck almost ran me, and my children off the road, pulling out into a busy street without even stopping. He was holding his cell phone to his head, and almost killed us because of it. When i called to inform them of what had happened they responded with "okay" .... really?? No appolagy? They obviously take no responsibility for their actions i can assume they are the same with the work they do. Not impressed. There is a reason they are reviewed bad from others...
I purchased a new wood stove from Gunsmoke. Mike and his team were absolutely fantastic! I had a lot of questions, and Mike took the time to answer them all and more. A great company to work with!

I have nothing but positive things to say about this company . I was needing to replace my unusable wood stove and they were fantastic at finding/ installing a gas fireplace within my budget . My old chimney needed a big part of it removed and they worked around my schedual as I have a young child . Everything was done so professionally and respectfully . I could not have asked for a better experience ! Would highly recommend them !

We contacted Guardian Services to come and inspect our fireplace and chimney to see if it was usable. Unfortunately our chimney was deemed unsafe so with the winter months closing in our next best option was going with a wood stove. They helped us pick out the perfect wood stove for our little house. I am extremely impressed with how knowledgeable the whole staff was with there products as well as how willing they where to help us out. They helped us plan for the installation, made sure everything would be up to code and installed our Regency wood stove without breaking the bank. They where extremely fast and always helped us as soon as they could. There experience and dedication to what they do shows with no doubt. I wouldn't recommend anyone else.
Took me 3 weeks to get the results of my wood stove inspection. They finally tell me I need a new wood stove, would have been good to know as soon as they came to that conclusion so I could have had heat. Horrible customer service. Receptionist should be fired, or she's an owner, and it shows.
Most Knowledgeable people I could find in their industry helpful and pleasant. Best wood stove and chimney I,v had! I was in the store when you were complaining to Kevin about your gun.Kevin had fixed your gun as directed and you brought it back with a problem you hadn't told him about.your complaint was he didn't test fire it which he doe not do unless asked for buy the customer. he had a dummy round to test it, but you pulled a live round out of your pocket and loaded the gun.Stupid. Kevn took your gun and removed the live round.he then said you could take your gun to someone else. I and the other people were very happy you left the store,hopefully never to return. As for Sharon she has always been polite and knowledgeably helpful anytime I have been in the store.anytime she was unsure of a gun question she admitted it right away,and the called Kevin for information. Maybe it is your attitude that is rude and rubs everyone around you the wrong way,it sure did to the other people in the store when you were there.Hope you don't do anything stupid with your fire arms,,but you probably won't last past hunting season so we won't have to concern ourselves about you anymore.
I recently took my restricted gun course to add to my pal previously taken Kevin's knowledge is second to none I learnt things that weren't taught on the previous course so there is a reason why Kevin's courses take as long as they do because he's thorough covering all aspects required The course works well with Mike narrating and Kevin explaining much better than the previous course

We recently bought a large regency wood stove from here! We shopped in town at other local businesses and this place was by far the best! From product to Customer service from when you walk in to even after you have your product is better than 5star! Thanks for helping us purchase our stove! We love it!
This is the first negative online review I have written. I will stick to the facts. We recently purchased a regency gas insert from Kevin, the owner of Guardian Gun Smoke Services. He did did the install along with a helper and a gas fitter selected by him with the company name Gas Plus. The insert was installed to run off propane tanks. We reported explosive combustion and an unpleasant smell in the living room and rapid carbon build up on the log set and and glass. We placed two phone calls to Guardian Services Gunsmoke. There was no response to the first call. The response to the second call was that they would ask their gas fitter who did the install if he thought it was a problem and call us back. They did not call back. With this erosion of trust we then hired an independent gas fitter, who attended immediately and clearly identified the following: -The smell in our living room is unburned propane natural gas. -A log set was installed. Written in bold the instructions state a log set is Not to be installed when propane is the fuel source -The air in take was completely closed, the instructions offer absolutely No situation in which the air intake should be completely closed. -The pilot cross over( where the gas hits the pilot light) was obscured by glass crystals, the instructions clearly indicate that area is to be kept clear. -Improper placement of the logs, the instructions provide very specific measurements. These details are extremely important. The indépendant gas fitter took the time to clearly show me the issues in comparison to the clear simple installation instructions in the manual. Any one of these mistakes leads to improper burning, voiding of the warranty, potentially dangerous conditions, and gives any insurance adjuster an out in the event of a fire. As I said, this is my first negative review and the intention is not to cause harm to the company, rather to provide awareness to the consumer. I feel it is justified as we reported the problem twice to the company who took no action to investigate. Thank you , Keith.
I recently purchased a Regency catalytic wood burning burning stove and to date I have used 2/3s less wood than my old stove with a burn time of up to 10 hours on 2 large pieces of wood , so im very happy with my investment and a big thank you to Guardian Services for the stove and install . M.P
By far the worst experience I have had from a gunsmith. Kevin himself isn't a bad guy the woman however is unreal. She should not be answering phones or talking to people. Unbelievably terrible customer service. Was told he has been trying to reach me and left many messages. Maybe she doesn't understand how voicemail works? when people leave messages you can check them! Also was told " he always test fires the guns before giving them back" How is that possible when the shell wouldn't even fit in the chamber? anyway, had my gun for 5 months gave it back to me fixing one issue but the gun didn't chamber a round, then had the audacity to say " well you only asked me to fix this one thing" I said " I had no idea what was wrong, I brought the gun and expected it to be given back fixed. How ridiculous is that? Its like bringing a car in that has a flat tire and the engine wont start. You fix the tire and give the car back, while the engine still doesn't work. How does that make sense? Bring it back and 2 weeks later after many calls I get a meeting and he asks me what I would like to do, like I'm the gun smith? I just want my gun to work! I just took it back and brought it down the street to grandlunds, he fixed in under 2 mins. My advice is fire the lady working for you, she is terrible. Secondly when your customers call, try calling them back even in a semi quick fashion. Have to wait weeks for a call back is a completely unacceptable way of doing business. Thirdly, when you make a mistake or are unsure, don't make up all kinds of excuses. Lastly, never call your customer a liar. Saying things like " he called you many times and left you messages is completely absurd. EDITED to add to what RON RON wrote. - got to love it when owners create fake names to answer reviews instead of being accountable themselves. Pretty much par for the course for these guys though! IF Kevin doesn't fire the guns, maybe Sharon shouldn't tell clients that he fires EVERY GUN? The rest of what you said is completely false so I wont even bother responding.
