There are a lot of different cleaning services in Calgary, but boy are we glad we found West Maids! The owners are very professional and the team that came out to clean did a fantastic job. We had a few areas of concern, as we lived in the same apartment for 3 years. (you can imagine some things got a little neglected) However, they were able to get everything back to 100% and we received our entire security deposit back. I booked a move out clean for the hottest days in Calgary....35. Plus! Being understanding I cancelled and rebooked for the following week. I made sure I dropped off and picked up my keys when completed. I have never been so disappointed in my life and have been told that "policy" is that the same crew goes back to correct things. My question is ..... They can't do it right the first time ...why would I want them again! If this is West Maids idea of clean....I beg to differ and now I have to go back and clean myself! Absolutely terrible. Continuously use the "small business" and covid-pandemic as an excuse to justify their horrendous services. Extremely unresponsive and overpriced, you can see them lie repeatedly in their replies to other here. They're absolutely horrible and refuse to take any responsibility. Maybe the trash they should clean up should be themselves. I strongly urge you to hire a private cleaner who could probably do the job 1000x better with a quarter of the cost, and leave you far more satisfied. That's what I did and my new cleaner is extremely better than anyone this terrible company probably has.

Great reception. Poor house cleaning service. We booked WestMaids for detailed cleaning in our new house before moving in. We agreed on the list of what was expected to be cleaned. They finished quickly and the result was very disappointing - lots of missed spots and surfaces (cabinets, walls, drawers, etc) and whatever was "cleaned" left some sticky residue. We ended up cleaning the entire house ourselves. We spoke with reception - they offered another cleaning or a refund of 20% from the total price - we took the refund. We won't be calling this place again for the house cleaning service.

Needed a cleaning company on a short time turnaround for the end of a short stay at airbnb in calgary. WestMaids was the only company i spoke to that was able to schedule a full clean within 24 hours, but were also able to include a carpet cleaning as well to take care of a spill. Booking and payment was extremely easy and the cleaners were super friendly and professional. When i spoke to the owner on the phone they even offered me a 10% discount since it was my first time using their service. Would definitely recommend for anyone needing their home cleaned in calgary.

Asked Westmaids to do a move in/out cleaning on my property and had to say it was quite a disappointing experience, especially after reading so many 5 stars on here. They came around pretty close to 1pm and called us and said they would be finished around 2:30pm (1.5hrs). Initially, we were told that this would be a 2 hour clean with 2 people, so we were wondering if we can get some sort of refund since it didn't take them 2 hours. Then they said they came at 12:30 which they lied, so they end up staying til 3 pm (which we did not request). Once they were finished, we were in a rush so we did not spot all the details of the place before they left. Afterwards, we found sauce stains in the kitchen floor and also noticed they totally forgot to vacuum my living room carpet. There were still crumbs of food and hair all around. The whole unit was only a 1400 sq ft unit and you would think they had more than enough time to finish the empty unit. They also took my only paper towel in the house (probably thought it was theirs). I would give them 1 star, however I called their # and explained the situation, and Nicole/Emily were nice enough to compensate me a little bit afterwards.

Surprised and Delighted I moved into my new place in September last year but I still haven't unpacked everything. I also hadn't done a deep clean since moving in. The floors, I'm shy to say, were really dirty. I knew that I needed help to conquer the clean! I did my diligence by calling a few places to inquire about rates and scheduling. The first company (MM) was incredibly expensive. The second place I called, I left a VM and to this day have not received a call back. Then I called WestMaids. My call was answered right away and I spoke to a very helpful person who asked a bunch of questions, explained the (very reasonable) pricing and scheduling. They were able to fit me in right away when it was convenient for my work schedule. On Clean Day, Michelle knocked at exactly the minute they said that she would arrive. She was absolutely delightful to speak with and I felt very comfortable right away. We had a quick chat about what needed to be done and then I disappeared into my office for two hours. When I emerged to look around, I couldn't believe what I saw. Not only had Michelle done an incredible deep clean on every surface, she had also organized all my clutter. AND even more impressively, Michelle had staged my house! I had never imagined that the place could look so good. Just by moving a few things around and arranging things, Michelle made my place look good enough for HGTV. Even my teenage daughter noticed right away and commented on how great everything looked. I will not hesitate to call WestMaids again and ask for Michelle to come back. As she must (see teenager above). Thank you Michelle.

Hi, I recently had Westmaids cleaned my house for the first time. I liked their service and I am only rating 4 is because they missed some areas in kitchen and pantry section, there are particles that I broom after they left and standing shower mirror has some spots . Apart from these things what ever they did was great and the lady who did my kitchen was attentive and thorough except that she missed the lower cabinet doors. I would call them again and would recommend to others. they are fast as well.

I recently got a quote from the website which was much higher than I expected, so I chose not to do business with them. The next day I received an email asking why I didn't book with them. I replied that they were too expensive. I received no response regarding my concern and instead have received form letter after form letter asking me to book with them. Why even bother asking why I didn't book of you aren't going to respond? If you're rich, go ahead and book with these guys. If you're like me keep looking because I found someone else for a third the price of these jokers and they don't harrass me to book constantly either.

Paid for cleaning service on July 12, to get ready to rent the condo to new tenant. Agent came to inspect the place on 13th, complaining how dirty and unclean the place was. That he felt embarrassed when showing my place to the tenant. I was at work so I called Westmaids, explaining what my agent saw and described: uncleaned window sills, uncleaned window blinds, dirty kitchen, sticky counter top, uncleaned oven, dusty floor, mucky bathrooms walls and floor, dirty laundry washer and dryer. Westmaids explained that window sills, laundry washer and dryer aren’t included in the service. I paid $149 for what then lol? I didn’t even get a cleaned floor…And I had added extra $64 for cleaning window blinds and inside oven especially, and nothing were fully cleaned. A total of $250 for such result is actually very disappointing. I went to the place tonight (14th) to clean the whole place by myself again, forgot to take some photos before I cleaned cause I was rushing to begin the work. But I did get some photos from my agent.

Our cleaner was Chayanne. This was the second time that she was at our house. The first time was supposed to be a deep clean, which was not done. The second time, today, she showed up with a partner, which was okay but we were not advised of this and with the pandemic we have to be extra careful. The cleaning was horrible. They left paper in the toilet and they moved nothing after we asked her and have permission to move lamps etc. When we asked her to look at it and do it again, she became irate and said we were unreasonable and then she left. This is unacceptable. Perhaps this company has different cleaning standards than we do. But if someone's going to be upset when asked to do their job, perhaps it's time to consider another career. Stay away.

I was planning a large get together and wanted to get my place cleaned up prior but didn't have a lot of time, so I sent them an email asking if they had any availability. The reply was pretty quick, giving me a few options for best dates to schedule. This made it easy because I then just went online and booked the clean. I left my key for the staff, and when I came home later that day my place was spotless. Great experience and would highly recommend their service.

So Westmaid went into clean our place a little bit ago. I understand that since it has been a little bit of time there are somethings that will not be clean any more. But no one had been in the house since it had been cleaned and my new tenants have just informed me that it looked like not a single room in the house had been done. We had to move out east and expected that they would respect our place and actually clean our place. After paying so much money to have it cleaned and it ended up looking as though nothing had been done. I WILL NEVER BE USING THEIR SERVICES AGAIN.

Very non professional and worst service. I booked their service for standard cleaning of my house and got the lumpsum price. I told the details of my house e.g. number of rooms, bathrooms and area of the house etc. They told me that their standard cleaning incudes dusting/ wiping of furniture and appliances, moping and vacuuming. I agreed. When cleaners arrived they refused to clean the laundry room and small den/bedroom on the ground floor although it was included in the price. Then they did not do the dusting of the furniture on the main floor. They did not use any wet mop on the hard wood floor. Floor was left with stains and there was dust and dirt on the furniture. They did not even clean the floor under the dining table. When I asked them to clean it they said that they could not do it in four hours. They argued on everything. Although their office gave me a lumpsum price and it was not based on hours. It was based on quantity of work. I will not recommend them to hire for any cleaning job. Horrible experience. Comments on Response from owner: Incorrect statement from the owner and an effort to divert the attention from the real issues raised in the review. If you ask the cleaners that they are not doing what was committed then it is called "abusive" in their eyes. Customer has no right to ask any question. He should just pay his hard earned dollars to them. No answer was provided for the issues about their performance and quality. No apology, no justification. If this is the response of the business owner then cleaners are justified to do whatever they want to do. Why would they work hard to build a reputation of their company? Now, I can understand their work culture and ethics better.

Absolutely terrible. Extremely expensive and unprofessional. They do not hold their own end of their agreement ever. They will have you walk through everything with them beforehand and then when they arrive in person they will pretend you never did that and try to charge you extra for everything. To add onto that, their prices are abysmal for the level of cleaning they do, I have honestly seen toddlers clean better, they're absolutely horrible. They do the bare minimum and expect it to be enough and leave the house looking the exact same. Management is just as bad if not worse, all they do is try to scam you out of more money. I would recommend asking the neighborhood racoons for help before coming to these people, as that would probably give you a better result. These people are abhorrent and I would strongly recommend you to avoid them at ALL costs. Supper friendly and flexible management working the bookings, the cleaning was Impeccable, she did amazing work was super nice and friendly and also brought her out cleaning supplies. Westmaids experience was great. They have excellent customer service. So we got a move in.move out package for cleaning which basically included they clean everything and you can add on extras if you need. I have never used a cleaning service before, so I had emailed around to get some quotes or ask questions. Specifically since I also need a carpet cleaning as well as a house clean I wanted something together. I emailed nicole with questions and she immediately got back to me and offered to help me book it if I had any concerns. Through westmaids you can arrange a carpet cleaning as well as the move in and out cleaning service. It wasn't the cheapest of expenses or options out there. However, what I paid for is what I got, a well done job as well as the convenience of the company setting everything up in one afternoon. The oven was spotless, I would definitely recommend if you need like a Move out clean and or a carpet cleaning you go through these guys. I also recommend if you need any answered questions Nicole has all the answers and great customer service.

Have a relatively small apartment (500sq ft half of the size of the 1000sqft cut off) that I had "deep" cleaned by WestMaids, and was not impressed what so ever, especially for 160$. The first clean was very poor, no garbages empty, anything outside of plain view not cleaned, large debris left on kitchen floor. Nicole was very helpful and had me take pictures of what wasn't done, she seemed understanding and booked a reclean. The reclean didn't clean many of the areas I included in my first set of pictures, and when I called back I was told certain things would not be done in a reclean despite not being cleaned in the first clean (kitchen counters), yet the things that should've been cleaned in the reclean were also not done. Again things in plain sight were quite clean, but I'd expect a deepclean to include items outside of plain sight (vacuuming anywhere that requires a stick, baseboards that are hidden when doors open). Pictures were requested again, which I provided, yet I mentioned in the email I was not looking for a discount so I heard nothing back. Will not use this company again, which is unfortunate as other reviews shows this is an anomalous experience, but nothing was done to try and make up for this (besides not charging me for laundry which was not done the first time, but was done the second time). Probably my own fault as I did not want a refund, really just wanted a clean house, especially in tough times I do not want to cut into the cleaners pay cheque. When no follow up around the dissatisfaction of a second clean was provided, I've decided its best to move to a different company for regular cleaning.

I had Westmaids come in and do a deep clean on my apartment as we hadn't done a clean for over a year (at least not a professional clean) and they exceeded my expectations. I've uploaded some photos to give you an idea of what our place looks like now but I don't think they do the service any justice. They managed to get all of the gunk out of the shower, make all of the chrome/stainless steel services sparkling, and they got all of the dust in the nooks and crannies. Considering we've been stuck indoors due to the bad wildfire smoke, it's been such a relief to be in an incredibly clean home. Not to mention the front-office/reception was super helpful and professional. I don't think I could have asked for a better service. I intend to recommend Westmaids to everyone I know who needs a house cleaning.

I decided to try WestMaids after reading the positive Google reviews and their professional customer service when I called Nicole for an estimate. I requested move out cleaning and carpet cleaning services. I was very happy with WestMaids' services. Andrea from WestMaids and Zach from Future-Now Carpets (subcontracted) were very good to work with. Both Zach and Andrea communicated through out the project and did an excellent job. Andrea took a bit longer than I expected, but she texted/called to let me know she is running behind. Time was not an issue for me, but I wanted the house to be clean the first time and I let Andrea know that. When my husband and I did the walk-through at the end of the day, we were both very happy with her job. Andrea worked hard and did over and above our expectations. Nicole whom I dealt with on the phone to book these services was very professional and responsive for any questions I had. I will definitely use WestMaids and their subcontractor Future-Now Carpets again, and will highly recommend them to my friends and family.

Update : Unfortunately, I have to edit this review. West Maids started off really well for us. We had 1 terrific clean ( the 1st one), one pretty good, then it went downhill. They had a new, seemingly inexperienced team every time they came to clean. We had to get things re-cleaned a few times. The last time this happened, they sent the same person to re-do the floors, which were streaky and actually sticky from all the soap that was left behind. Obviously, the cleaner was not too happy about this, as you can imagine. At some point during the cleaning, there was a very loud crashing sound from upstairs. My dog ran down to the basement, scared out of his skin. It scared my mother too, who was home alone. The cleaner finished the floors and left. A few days later, I found my fiberglass mop, broken in half, in the laundry room where we keep it. This is when I cancelled our cleaning with West Maids. I did not tell them about the incident, because obviously, we are a bit scared that cleaner (who knows where we live) would want retribution if he got in trouble. Beware.

Working with WestMaids as a vendor to organize Calgary house cleaning for my clients here has been a fantastic experience. I've got a bit of a concierge type service where I work with relocating individuals that may need a hand organizing such things as utilities, movers, cleaning, mail forwarding, and other aspects as needed. Needless to say Nicole has been a lifesaver for me. Sometime I have a bit of a time crunch and have to organize several different services which can be tricky, and Nicole has been an incredible help in helping me out with the work load. I just send her my client's requirements and she makes sure that the scheduling for cleaning is taken care of on her end. All of the westmaids cleaners have also done a great job with the homes which makes my clients happy. Woah, what a company! Nicole was such a pleasure to deal with and the whole process was easier than I’d ever anticipated. I’ve used cleaning companies in the past and they had to come in and “analyze” how dirty my place was before - I found that this approach made for unfair pricing and it was overly complicated. WestMaids does a flat rate and their efficiency was well in line with their pricing. Not to mention my place smelled great after and they even did that cool toilet paper folding thing.
