I called today to request a service call and I was asked for my postal code. Then I was told that they don't service my area. John the Plumber is based in Brockville and I'm in Maitland which is 8 km away. That's an 8 minute drive ????‍♀️ I asked why? She said we have a 6 week waiting list in Brockville. Ok but why don't you service Maitland? No good reason just that they don't service our area. Needless to say you should really make it clear on your website what areas you service and ones you don't. To me this is illogical as I see John the Plumber vans driving on the 416 going who knows where but it's definitely more than the 8 km distance it takes to get to Maitland!

Booked the plumber service twice. The first one, the plumber called to postpone the service to another day, I had to call another company. The 2nd time, the plumber did not show without a notice. I called the company, then the plumber show'd at 6pm (booked 1-4pm). He asked to charge $189 to open the wet drywall for investigation (besides the $40 checking fee). Then he did nothing and left. What kind of a nightmare.

We replaced the counter top in our kitchen but I couldn't connect new sink strainers to the old PVC drain piping. I couldn't figure it out. However, Travis (Jardine) did in about two seconds and had the sink strainers connected to the old piping in about ten minutes. No charge. Thank you Travis.

I called early afternoon on a Thursday, and David and Chris arrived at 9 a.m. Friday morning and fixed the problem by replacing all the faulty parts in the tank. Works like a charm. One of my toilets started leaking and the plumbing in my home was unfamiliar (not the copper or pex). I called John the Plumber and was very pleased with the way in which I was treated. I shut the toilet off and they came early the next day. Brian did not withhold any possible complications on the job (albeit the professionalism he demonstrated was second to none) but avoided all of them. They come highly recommended by my family and I. When we bought our 100 year old farm home 7 months ago we were informed by the insurance company that we had some plumbing work to do. We needed to fix our waste pipe to our septic and replace our galvanized piping. I called John the plumber and set up a time for them to come see the job at hand. I was fully expecting to spend a grand or two in repairs as these jobs are never easy. James showed up, took a look at the work and quoted me such a low and fair price that I called the office immediately to set up an appointment. James sbowed up on time and had the job done perfectly. He even helped me with my sump pump that was giving me a hard time. With such an old home we ran into a slight problem with out hot water upstairs after he left. I called the office and he was here the next day and fixed everything up. He even brought our two dogs some treats. Having James in our home with my 6 month old daughter and my wife I felt completely at ease. Very nice, honest company. Great work. Thank you James!

— Update — I recently received a call from a new customer satisfaction rep, Jacob, looking to rectify the situation. He listened as I explained the situation and offered to send someone out to fix the issue. I, however, had gotten the issue fixed in the months that passed so he was able to offer a refund of $150. I appreciate receiving the call and the effort made to win back my trust. I may give them another go if it’s an emergency, but for small things I’ll likely try to figure it out myself first to potentially save some money. — Original Post Below — Called to have my toilet looked at because there was a leak and the toilet was rocking. They determined that the leak was coming from a bolt in the tank and replaced a washer inside. They also claimed to have stabilized the base. The visit cost me $452. A month later the toilet started rocking again and I started to notice that there was a leak coming from below the toilet. I called to see if they could send someone out to take another look and was told I would be called back. I never heard back. I don’t believe they properly addressed the rocking issue in the first place which may have lead to damage to the wax seal causing the leak. I’m disappointed that I didn’t receive a call back.

Had John the Plumber Kingston replace a few shut off valves. They were friendly and professional and we were happy with the work. Had them provide a quote to replace some waterlines. After waiting a week or so had to contact them to get the quote in writing Requested to make a few changes and confirm a few things in the original quote through their online platform. Never heard back from anyone. Contacted the office and they apologized and said someone would be in touch to review the changes. Contacted the office two more times and each time was told that someone would be in touch to review the changes. Confirmed they had my contact information. Never heard back from them. Not the biggest deal just more annoying than anything.

UPDATE - John's to the rescue again!! Brian from John The Plumber in Kingston was here today to help me with an issue I was having in my basement. He and his apprentice did some investigative work and discovered what the cause of the issue was and will be coming back next week to address the bigger picture (for now, the immediate issue has been remedied). This is the 4th time I've used John The Plumber in the past 3 years (I live in weird old house) and every time they have arrived on time, done great work and provided courteous and friendly service. Thanks again!! I had an issue with a toilet in one of my bathrooms in my home. I had a plumber in last month to address the issue, install a new faucet and unclog a drain for me. The fellow I had in told me that there was nothing wrong with the toilet (the tank was very slow to refill) and he did the other jobs competently. The toilet never did work properly though. I contacted John's yesterday, they had a service person (James) at my home this morning. He quickly diagnosed the problem and the toilet is now working perfectly. I can't say enough I much I appreciated how great this company is at communicating with their customers and the speed of the service. Their prices are VERY competitive. I'll be calling them the next time I have a problem in my home!

I had John the plumber disconnect plumbing to old sink in perpetration for counter top installation. I then had John the plumber come and install the new sink, taps and replace the old piping from the sink with new piping. These two jobs needed to be completed at a time that coincided with the counter install. The counters were weeks late in being delivered and John the plumber accommodated the counter delivery schedule. Ricardo Carina was the plumber who came assessed the job and provided us with a quote and he did all the plumbing work. Ricardo is conscientious man who took pride in his work and explained what needed to be done and why, he tidied up and respected social distancing and wore a mask. I hope I can get Ricardo if I have plumbing jobs in the future.

Had some leaks in my water pipes so called John the Plumber. Ricardo called ahead and was able to come earlier than scheduled. When he arrived he gave a couple of options of how to fix the leak and explained why he recommended what he did. Was done in a timely manner and cleaned up after the job.

Excellent service. Quick, and quality work. Called them Tuesday morning to reroute my toilet drain, and replace the old copper stack from the basement up to an already updated stack coming from the roof down to the kitchen. I needed my toilet drain rerouted to accommodate the new kitchen cabinets being installed. They showed up Wednesday morning at 9:30 and had to work done by 12:30! It wasn't cheap, but it wasn't something I was willing to go cheap on anyway. Geat job guys.

As a widow who is not always sure exactly what needs to be done I’m always concerned when contractors come to fix a problem in my home. Not an idiot but this stuff is not in my wheelhouse. I would definitely recommend James. Him and his helper were professional, patient with my questions and just plan pleasant (my dogs liked them too). They cleaned up after themselves and helped me with a couple of other little problems. I would definitely recommend them.

The job was done well, but bad customer experience overall. On the first call, the person on the phone said that it would be fix the same day. A guy showed up later, evaluated the job, gave us a price and said he would be back first thing the next day to do the job. The next day, we waited all morning and nobody. We called back the office to be told that someone would show up a little later. Still nobody showed up. We called back again to be told that time that we were not in their system?!? They propose that someone would be there the next day first thing in the morning. That morning, another guy than the first one showed up. He evaluated the job again, and gave us a much higher price than the first guy to do less than the fist one proposed. The job took about an hour for 750$ to install a new bathtub faucet. The old one was already removed. When I asked for explanation about the price at the head office nobody ever answered us. Will never call them again!

Haven't had to hire a plumber in a while so we may be out of touch regarding current pricing but we found the price extremely high. Anyone that needs emergency plumbing service, these guys are the place to go! Today i dropped an expensive necklace down the sink and was freaking out. Although this may not be your typical "emergency", one call to John's and they said they would be here in an hour. In no time two extremely nice guys were here (One named Andre) and retrieved the necklace in a matter of minutes! After they not only put everything back together, but they fixed parts of the sink that were broken beforehand. A+ service all around, cannot recommend enough!

Very good effort by Ricardo to unclog my drain. Not his fault he was unsuccessful against a solid clog made from years of grease build-up. He provided me with weekly maintenance solutions to keep the drains clear once cleared, and he suggested a drain flushing option that will clear our drain.

This was my first time using John the Plumber services. I did some research into local plumbing services and decided to give them a try. What can I say? My research paid off. Great service from the initial phone call to the actual work done by Ricardo. My service request was dealt with professionally and efficiently. When Ricardo arrived we talked about what he would be working on and he went about his business. We chatted about other plumbing questions I had too. Very professional.
