My furnace quit on me sometime during the night and when I called First Call in the morning they were willing to have someone come and look at it by noon. When the service man came and diagnosed the problem he ordered the part from Winnipeg while at my house. Unfortunately the part couldn't be shipped until the next day. First Call was back at my house by 9 am the next morning. The service man was polite, kind, and explained the issue to me throughly and in layman's terms. I highly recommend first call. I had these guys install my hot wayer tank when it blew and they were very polite and very clean. I was having issues with my hot water pressure and I called them this morning and they showed up very quickly and started trouble shooting and soon found that my existing hot water shut off valve was not working and was almost completely closed. 15 minutes later, valve gone, new pipe and great hot water pressure. Thanks first call, you will always be my only call.

During heat wave our A/C stopped working. We called First Call Plumbing and Heating. The receptionist was so kind and helpful. The scheduling was fast and the employee who came was so amazing !! He was very knowledgeable and kind to my mom. They found that we needed something topped up...leaving us with a home that was cooled right away !! I love the fact that they found the actual issue immediately and were able to fix it !! Their pricing is so amazing as well !! First Call (Paul) came and assessed what we needed to have done and came the next day and started by jackhammering the floor. By lunchtime was done and started putting piping in the floor. City came next morning to inspect and when he left Paul put concrete down and did plumbing in the walls for the shower, toilet and vanity. He put the shower base in also. Now I have to get busy and put the electrical in and drywall and paint before he can come back and put the finishing touches in. Fantastic service and an excellent job!!

I recently had an issue with my air conditioning to which First Call was able to squeeze me in to assess the problem on the same day, when every other Brandon company couldn't come for at least 5 days. The employee, Claude, was so quick, efficient, and kind. He ordered the part we needed that same day, and conducted the install the following day. I originally called another company to fix my air conditioning unit. However, that company didn't even bother investigating on the broken unit; instead, they stated that the unit needed to be replaced which would cost me an absurd amount of money. Unhappy with the amount, I decided to call First Call Plumbing & Heating to see what they could offer me. They investigated the unit (unlike the original company) and they said that it could be salvageable and that it needed to be recharged. They recharged the unit for me without any cost. In conclusion, First Call Plumbing & Heating is a very honest and reliable service and I would personally and highly recommended.

I called for appointment in November they told me they are short staff but will book in the end of December or January first week and after i called twice for update and today i receive mail that We focus on residential plumbing and heating, and this falls more under the lines of commercial plumbing work. This should they told me when i went to book an appointment and wasted my 1.5 month. Totally Unprofessional.

My AC quit working while I was on holidays (of course!). The people looking after my home called First Call and they came out next day to repair (added Freon). I got home 2 weeks later to find it wasn’t working again. I emailed them Sunday to tell them that my AC wasn’t working correctly (was blowing air but was not cooling down). They emailed me back on Monday and Manly came out Monday at the end of his day as I work until 4:00. The problem was the capacitor went on the compressor. He had a replacement in his van and changed it out and hung around for a bit to make sure it was working correctly. It’s been working great ever since! I had googled what the life of a central air unit and it said 12-15 years (mine is 17) so I was convinced that I would have needed to replace the unit. He told me that it was probably a US site and it should last longer here because of our relatively short summers in comparison. He could have told me that it needed to be replaced and I wouldn’t have questioned it but he was honest and didn’t try to sell me something that I didn’t need. I had previously used them to install a new hot water tank. I emailed them for a quote and they got back to me same day and accommodated the install with my holidays that week. I booked them immediately and afterward the other quotes came in at a higher cost. I would definitely recommend First Call! They have very reasonable pricing and more importantly, excellent service!

First Call is my plumbing/heating company of choice in Brandon. I recently purchased a furnace from First Call and was very pleased with the service. Manly, the owner, came and inspected my old furnace and explained the options for replacing it. He was very candid about the advantages/disadvantages of the furnaces available. I shopped around a bit, and the quotes First Call provided were very reasonable. The installers did a good job installing the furnace, and did a great job tidying up after themselves. I have also had First Call perform other plumbing work, such as clearing sewer lines, and they provided excellent service then as well.

Our main sewer line became blocked with roots and I spent all day Sunday trying to clear the blockage. I gave up around 7PM and decided to call First Call Plumbing & Heating. I left a message and recieved a callback a few minutes later. Manly showed up with his rooter tool about a half hour later. I wanted to replace my old AC and had also been told that my furnace needed replacement. After three quotes, First Call was the only company that didn’t try to up sell me. In fact, they recommended not replacing the furnace because there are still parts available and it can still be maintained. An issue with the venting of exhaust was discovered during the AC installation and maintenance of the furnace, which was causing circulation issues in our home. An HVAC system was recommended and installed which has corrected and improved airflow and quality in our home 100%. While installing the HVAC system I noted an issue with our hot water heater which was beginning to leak. Again, a fair quote on a new hot water tank was provided and installed without a hiccup and prior to a potential water disaster. I can’t say enough about the workmanship that First Call conducted but what really sold me on using their services was the honesty in not trying to sell me a furnace that could be repaired instead of being replaced. The technicians were knowledgeable, cleaned up after the tasks and were accommodating and friendly. I would unconditionally recommend them.

When the city told me at 4:00PM they were shutting my water off by noon the next day for construction, so I had less than 16 hours to get the backflow valve disabled on my outdoor faucet for the temporary water hook-up, First Call was the only place that could get it done in time. Claude was incredibly helpful and, in the process of doing the work that had to be done, also found that the pipe to the outside faucet had been incorrectly installed and was in danger of bursting the next time it froze (something to do with the angle of the pipe and water pooling in the pipe due to the incorrect installation - he showed me the bulging pipe and I didn't know metal could do that!). I can't say enough good stuff about them!

When we were away one winter our furnace went on us and our daughter called them to fix it which they did at a very reasonable price. So when our hot water tank went they were one of the people we called for a quote and they replaced it that day, we were very happy.
