Overall I had a positive experience with my first AC installation. The timing was perfect, the sales process was easy, and the guys that did the installation were super friendly and did a clean installation. However, it's not a perfect experience for the following reasons: 1. I was upsold the more expensive model because I was told that it would fit on the hallway and that the installer would make the necessary changes for a clean installation which made me purchase the item that cost $1000 more but in the end, this was not done, and instead, the AC was installed in the living room. I could have saved that extra $1000 if I was told explicitly that it is possible theoretically, BUT the installers won't probably do it because it's too much of a hassle. 2. The job was near perfect, but the installer left my tenant with to huge holes on the walls that I have to patch up... Besides the two points above, I still recommend them, but be sure to ask if the installer can install it at the prime location that you want.

An appointment for the air conditioning unit installation was set weeks in advance. We put the day aside and completely cleared out two closets for the installer to drill holes and install cables. On the day itself, the electrician came at the scheduled time and did a good job. He called the installer who was apparently on another job. There was no communication with us from Tran Climatisation. We were asked to make an appointment for the following Saturday. The installers called on Saturday and said they would be arriving late. I had sent the company an email with explicit directions about accessing our condo by the back entrance, leading directly into the kitchen, where the unit was to be installed. That information was not relayed to the installers who wanted to enter with their equipment and heavy boots through our living area. They did a good job as well, and it was quicker than we expected. But the lack of communication between the company and its installers as to where holes should be drilled, and the path of the cables, was concerning. We placed our order in early April, were promised delivery in mid June and only had our installation on June 30th for wiring, and July 3rd for installation. We had to live through some very warm days in between. Despite everything, the unit was properly installed, works well and is very silent.

I give 4 stars instead of 5 because of their initial installation of my Carrier heat pump and furnace went very smoothly last October. They managed to do it within half a day, including reinstalling my existing humidifier in a professional manner. However one month into the heating season, the humidifier never worked and I got email warning of low humidity level from the networked Ecobee thermostat. I called 2 times yesterday and a technician finally came in the afternoon to fix the problem. Turns out one of the wire was not well inserted into the thermostat. I believe that Tran Climatisation needs to step up a bit their customers service if they want to build up their reputation. Technicians need to understand that it is never good for the company Not to calling back the customer if they cannot come at the agreed time.

I really tried to be as proactive and understanding as possible with getting my heat pumps installed, but I simply don't know what to do anymore. I just recently purchased two infinity heat pumps, one was installed in November and it works great, the second was installed on the 6th of April. After the guys came to do the installation, something went wrong and they didn't complete the task. They told me they would be back to fix it within a week. After a week passed without a phone call I called them to see what was going on. That's when the "I will send a message" conversations started. I have called the company 5 times since (over the last two months since my heat pump still doesn't work) every time I call them, the receptionist tells me the same thing... I will send a message and they will call you. I called again on Tuesday this week and they said they will for sure have someone out to complete the installation this Thursday or Friday, so I took some time off work to make sure someone was here to let them in. When Friday afternoon came, I called them to see what was going on, I was told the same thing again. I will send a message and someone will call you back, she even said, they would call me back "today". I feel really disappointed by the fact that I invested a significant amount of money in this company (almost 10,000$ for the two units) and I have been consistently mislead or ignored after they got my money. Je ne sais pas encore si le problème a créer un autre problème le fait d'avoir ajouter autant de gaz dans la système de climatisation mais c'est certain ceci n'a aidé .... Ah oui, j'ai oublié de dire que Tran Climatisation ne garantie pas un résultat suite à une réparation (ceci vient de sa propre bouche)... . After opening the outdoor part, the error code table was found on the lid with the description of the root cause. I believe that error code explanation could have been found without on-site visit for $260. The technician didn't give us any possible options on how to fix the issue, he just said that someone would contact us to follow up. Pierre followed up with us just to give us the quote for a new wall AC or heat pump unit that would cost us $4000 to 6000+tax with no possibility to repair our current one.

Contacted them to get quote for a wall AC unit. They emailed me back to say it would cost 6500$ + tax, WITHOUT ever visiting the property, inquiring about dimensions, asking my needs and preferences, explaining the benefits of the models they carry, etc. I can understand if they restrain visits because of COVID, but not taking the same to even inquire about the dimensions, layout, current cooling and heating system is lazy. NOT PROFESSIONAL and NOT CUSTOMER ORIENTED. The same day I called Tran, I also called 3 other companies. These companies took the time to visit the property before providing a quote (all 3 visited in less than a week, despite the heat wave), they took the time to explain the products they carry, they asked me questions to determine my needs and they gave me an opportunity to ask them questions. These companies' prices ranged from $2400 to $4100 for a wall AC (including reliable brands like Lennox and Fujitsu). All this to say, my advice to you all is to shop around because this company has demonstrated to be overpriced and not considerate. If that's how they treat people before they even get the contract, I can imagine how bad their post-installation service would be.

After buying a new house where the previous heat pump was deffective, we've decided to change it to lower our energy cost after a pretty cold windter. After a lot research of brands and installers, I've heavily hesitated between Carrier and Mitsubishi (for their heating efforts) but ultimately decided to go with Carrier as the price point was a bit better for something equivalent. For the installation, they were so many companies available but we've decided to go with Tran Climatisation for our new heat pump. Tran sells Carrier which proved after my research to be a well-known brand and they seemed a reputbale Carrier installer for the south-shore of Montreal, had a strong online presence (web site with tons of info) and their sale director Martin was professional and flexible to meet with us. The installation technicans came on a Friday morning around 7h30. They spent most of the day uninstallating the old heat pump showing us along the way what went wrong with the deffective installation. They have then installing our brand new multi-zone system (2 zones) and finished around 16h30. The intial installation plan was supposed to be through the attics from outside but after some discussion with the technicians, we were able to re-use the old heat pump wiring conduits to avoid creating new holes in the outside structure. This made the job much cleaner as we barely see any wiring (except in the entrance walk-in where we barely see a tubing.) Same for outside, we installed the heat pump onto the previous installation minimizing the holes in the structure. The installation went smoothly, was overall well done and the installers were very nice and professional. Everything was working well when they left and I couldn't wait to try it out. I'm now heating a big portion of my house with a Carrier heatpump. :) Now, time will tell if I did a good choice with a Carrier heat pump but I have a feeling it'll be quite positive. Thanks Tran Climatisation! ==================== UPDATE: ==================== February 12th 2019: It's been less than a year that I own a heat pump from Tran Climatisation and I am now facing an issue. This was a great test of their after-sale support. Here is the current status as this issue has NOT been resolve yet. I will update this review once everything is fixed. Early January, I noticed the outdoor unit does not seem to defrost properly anymore rendering the engine full of snow/ice. Being worried it could break, I contacted Tran Climatisation to know what to do and hopefully get it fixed as it's still under warranty. This is on January 15th 2019. Day 1: I get a quick answer from their sale person Martin and tells us it's not normal, to turn off the machine and wait for a technician. No problem, I turn off the machine and heat with my electric system. First appointment got cancelled because of the bad weather. Understandable. Same thing for the 2nd appointment a few days later where no technician came in during that day. Ok... it happens. On the third attempt (2 weeks after the intial call), we get a tech to come on site. The tech tells us we shouldn't be using our heat pump when it's below -15C. Anyhow, the technician explains he may need to order a new sensor and there is nothing he can do today. He initially had to charge us but ended up not charging us as it's still under warranty. This is January 28th 2019. Today, it's been more than 2 weeks the part have been ordered. It was supposed to take a week and still no news. Wanting to remain patient, we contacted them again on Monday morning (February 11th 2019), still no news. Today is February 12th 2019. I will now try again to contact them in hope I get the parts and someone to take a look at the unit. I will keep this review updated based on the progress. Thanks for your patience... Update 2: Feb 20th 2019. Still no appointment. Part should be in the way. Update 3: Feb 21th 2019: Part received. Appointment for tomorrow Feb 22nd. Update 4: Feb 22nd 2019: The tech called in sick so it got moved to Feb 26th 2019. :(

Called them this morning (July 14) after calling 5 other AC repair shops who told me they were too busy (but they would we glad to sell me a new AC!). Appointment was set up for Thursday. Got a call early afternoon: "One client cancelled, are you available". 10 minutes later Derek was here. Courteous and very competent. He check things out, did what was needed to do and explain the limitations of what he had done (since we have an old AC). He did all of this in 40 minutes. WOW! Very strongly recommend those folks based on my experience!
