Emerald Cleaners did a "Move In" clean in our home, they did a good job, but missed some obvious areas. They also - only hours before showing up- informed me of an extra charge ($25/room) for cleaning the carpets that was not discussed previously which I felt was dishonest.
There were a few things missed such as a drawer in the fridge which still had spilled food (the rest was very clean), and the upstairs guest bath and shower was missed as there was still a ring in the tub and marks left on the ledges from old shampoo bottles which could have been easily wiped clean.
Their quote for time and labour was accurate (4 hours with 3 people) however I was shocked by the shady business practice of springing a last minute (the night before they were coming) carpet cleaning fee.
When I called for a quote I asked about the carpet cleaning and was told they could do it but only had a small Hoover which was fine. When they followed up with an email they wrote "We have a residential hoover carpet cleaner. It does a good job. Let us know if you would like us to use it!". Never once was an extra fee mentioned.

Carpet cleaning isn’t a regular service that we offer, it is something that’s only done if asked. The only reason we had offered to do it was because we were told that there were 3 rooms, which seemed doable. After arriving we noticed that you also had a carpeted hallway/ stairs. Since it was only agreed that 3 rooms need cleaning, we decided to not charge for the other carpeted areas that were also done. There are separate products such as pet deodorizer ( since you mentioned that you and your husband are allergic to cats and you think the pervious owners might have had one) that are used and additional time and effort put into cleaning out the carpets... I understand that the last minute mention of carpet cleaning charges was unfair, I couldn’t remember if it was discussed over the phone. If you had let us know upon arrival that you were uncomfortable with the carpet cleaning price we would have been happy to just leave it out completely.
