I signed up for six consecutive cleanings. While the service was not exceptional, they did have some good cleaners. The issue I have with them is that they've automatically subscribed me for another visit without my knowledge after the initial 6. They sent me a "reminder" and a note that a cancellation fee of 50% will apply. If I cancel the service. I called the manager first thing this morning and she says her hands are tied, they will be charging me 50% if I cancel the service which I never agreed to. They then state, we would have talked through this 6 months ago in a matter of fact... as if they recall the conversation vividly. The contract I have has no notions of this. You likely have to go dig deep on a website for terms/conditions. all in all - not happy with how they conduct business and will not return as a customer.

** UPDATED: Please note that I have updated this review to state the following truth that I unfortunately encountered with this company. This review is only being updated after I received a letter from the legal team to remove my review or the company will pursue legal action. ** My boyfriend Gerald and I recently purchased our first home and were looking for a company to clean the house top to bottom. We found Opulent Cleaning Services online and were impressed when we originally called and asked for a quote. While the fee was bit higher than other companies we called, we decided to book anyways because of the time they took to explain everything that would be cleaned in the house. Unfortunately, our Closing Date was pushed from August 21st to September 21st and we were notified August 20th. I called that morning around 11 am and explained the situation and inquired if I could reschedule. The man on the phone stated their policy and told me if it were to be changed it would be a cancellation fee. I asked again if I could reschedule and he repeated the policy and that I would be charged $180 (plus tax). I ended the phone call requesting management phone me to discuss other possible options. Around four o'clock I received a phone call from Sheilah, Office Operations Manager. I explained the situation to Sheilah and heard almost verbatim of what the original man I spoke to on the phone. She told me the company does not offer rescheduling and I would receive my invoice and the credit card I had on file would be charged the cancellation fee. Be very mindful of the policies/ verbiage before hiring these types of services. Note their policy states 24 *business hours* not 24 hours for cancellation fees, nor does it list anything to do with re-scheduling options because they do not offer a rescheduling fee/ or a lessened cancellation if you re-schedule. It’s disappointing as a potential client that they weren’t able to help further and for that reason my family and I won’t be using this company in the future.

I had a bad experience with Opulent's cleaning standards, customer service and business ethics. I reported my experience to the Better Business Bureau. --- Opulent charged my credit card, which they held for booking, without my consent, despite my telling them that their cleaning staff had performed a less than adequate job. The place was visibly dirty. There was dust and crumbly dirt on the counters, the floors, the cupboards, bathroom floors, windows sils and windows of my empty condo. Basically, everywhere - meaning the cleaning I discussed with the company prior to booking and prior to the cleaners working, did not occur. My empty condo was in a neat state, with some settled dust in corners from a paint job, needing a deep clean to make it move-in ready for me. I thought a team of 3 cleaners for 2 hours (6 man hours), $400+ would buy me an opulently clean house. I was wrong. The cleaners did a shoddy job at best, and left my condo before the time was up. I came approx 15-18 mins before the 2hr mark, and when I recovered from the initial shock of what I was seeing, and called customer service, representative Sheilah Claybourne's first mode of response was to be defensive. She started blaming me for a variety of untruths, with absolutely no basis or proof - I doubt she had a clear idea of who I was since no client info was requested - followed by being dismissive and harsh. I immediately took photos of how unclean the condo was and how dusty my feet were minutes after walking in to the condo and shared them with Sheilah instantly, only to have her and the CEO Ian Marshall (continue to) mock me for it!! Sheilah reluctantly decided to send one of the cleaners back to make 'amends' for the 6-man-hours of time that the cleaners had already wasted. The cleaner who was sitting in the GPS-tracked vehicle in my condo's parking garage came back up with a rag and a spray and a lot of excuses as to why three grown women couldnt clean or vacuum an empty house, and why she didn't bring her cleaning supplies and team to remedy this (she claimed the concierge didn't allow her to come up from the fob-accessed parking lot. Sheilah insists the team had left my condo.) I felt like such a fool, and cried with frustration right there. I was moving in the following day, and my work had been doubled! I asked Sheilah if we could revist this dispute in two days when I had time and then reach a fair resolution - but she did not want to help me beyond the rag and spray, and was condescending, rude and treated me like a liar - I view this as clear discrimination. The conv heated and instead of "100% customer satisfaction", my card was charged within an hour of the exchange. I view this as an aggression. I am so appalled. My husband tried calling them after this and left a message with reception but we never received a call back. A few days later I filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau hoping a third party could come in and resolve this, since it is so difficult to speak to Opulent's representatives. Note: I have tried to seek a resolution with them since August 24 (day of questionable cleaning) more than once since I am the one still cleaning my condo and short $400+. There has been no reconciliation, the cleaners have not been brought to account, but I have been called names and fallen victim to baseless accusations. I have never been treated like this by any business, let alone a company that is charging a premium for services. **I can run through a list of finer details that are red flags, such as not sending a confirmation email on a phone booking after taking a credit card number, not calling customers back, not believing your customer while promising "100% satisfaction"... I wish I could erase this disturbing experience. *** These are the photos I shared with Opulent minutes after walking in. I have proof of my condos state prior to this clean job. It looked exactly as it does in this photos.

SCAM! My grandmother inquired this company to clean her apartment and was scammed. They charged her $200 prior to the service and day of the cleaning they on their own terms would not clean her place as the service agreed upon. When asking for a refund their customer service was extremely disrespectful and unprofessional and we are still yet to get our money back. Absolutely disappointed. Addition to your response since there is no reply button: I have read the terms and conditions in and out and my grandmother did not speak to anyone via customer service, it was I. Your customer service representative was very rude and would not hear my complaint. I informed her that I would be left with no choice but to take my review publicly in which she responded "you have every right to right a review" which I am currently doing.

If you have other options for cleaning do whatever you can to use other services. They came 4 hours late, did a rushed and a terrible job. Left dirt everywhere and the floors were gross. It was supposed to be a move out and the new tenants could not move in because of how bad they did at cleaning. I have had to use a totally different cleaning company to come who were much better to fix their mess. I would never use Opulent Cleaning again. Trust me save your money and look elsewhere.

This company did a terrible job. I would never recommend them. To respond to their comments below, see the photo of the basement stair. The family and their cats had moved out, and Opulent was hired to do their full pre-staging clean and had full access to this staircase on cleaning day. This photo is of the stairs after they "cleaned" it. All the stairs were the same, they left them covered in cat hair. Did not clean most rooms. I had to hire someone to come the next day. By the time I sorted out what had happened (the opulent manager Sheilah Claybourne was aggressive and confrontational) - it took me a while to realize where the fault lay, as her first line of attack was that the floors had been painted and the cleaners couldn't work in most of the house (I found out the contractor was there during the cleaning and told them specifically they could walk on all the floors). By the time we sorted out the conflicting stories Claybourne said the time when we could request a reclean had passed - a reclean she conveniently didn't offer until the time to do it had passed. They did a good job cleaning the fridge and stove and charged me extra, and for the main cleaning fee of hundreds of dollars virtually no work was done.

This was the worst service ever received this company not only didn’t clean the whole place but complained about having to do it in the time allotted. How dare a company give you a quote for a time then tell you they can’t adhere to the time. It’s only 500 sq ft. I’m not sure how this couldn’t be done in less than 2 hours. This is a ludicrous business operation and they left my place dirty. I wish I could show pictures. This was nowhere close to a deep clean.

I previously hired a different company to come in and do a move in and deep clean, they did a terrible job. I then contacted Opulent and the girls did an incredible job! I asked them to focus on my kitchen and bathroom. They left my kitchen sparkling and looking brand new and my bathroom was nicely cleaned. My experience was the worst. They came for cleaning my apartment. I was traveling for a year and I mentioned that already to them before they came. They started cleaning the kitchen but they left because that the working environment is not healthy. My father is a smoker and he smoked one cigarette when they complained he went out. We didn’t know and they didn’t mention that. The Boss called me and told she had to make them leave because it’s not a safety environment for work. I have no problem with they leaving from the beginning but not after starting doing part of the kitchen they left everything unfinished and then they left. They are not professional at all. They supposed to make an assessment for the apartment and telling us the cost then start cleaning, but they came and started and leave in the middle of their job because as she told me it’s not a healthy environment. I told their boss that they were supposed to tell us before starting not to leave in the middle of the work. So angry with them. DON’T RECOMMEND THEM AT All

This was the worst experience. This company quotes you one price, and then calls you in the middle of your cleaning saying they need more time, extra $200. Who's going to say no and leave there place unfinished???!?!?!?!?? They also did a horrible cleaning job. My stove was a disaster and they didn't even vacuum my carpets. They don't try and rectify situations when we brought this up to them. Take your business elsewhere. You can see just how dishonourable this company is by there responses on all their 1 star reviews saying "we cant find your file anywhere"..........

We got Opulent Cleaning to clean our place today and Margarie and Emily were just so attentive to detail. The price is a bit higher than average but it is worth every penny. They made our place look like it was brand new and got to areas that normally one would skim over. First timers should really ask for 3-4 hrs for cleaning and after that 2 hrs. Definitely going to be using them on a regular basis. If you want to bring a new face to your place you should definitely go with them.

My wife Kayla and I had Opulent do a move in clean which is supposed to be a deep clean of everything, light fixtures, inside the cabinets, baseboards, basement ect... The cost was around $750 total because they had 3 ladies come in for 3 hours. The house was pretty dirty, the people we bought the house from didn't leave it very clean but the lead hand did a walk through and said it wasn't that bad and nothing they couldn't handle. I got a phone call from Opulent saying they were almost done and completed everything expect for the vacuuming and washing the floors. However, the 3 hours were almost up and they need an extra half hour but that would cost around $100. I declined because since everything else was done, i could easily just finish the vacuuming and washing the floors myself. So at the 3 hour mark the cleaners literally stopped what they were doing and just left, couldn't even take the time to finish what they started. I understand not starting anything new but at least finish what you start. You would think you would want to keep your customers happy, in hope they would use your company again. This was not the issue though, once they left and we came inside we realized all they really did was a quick wipe down and missed so much, it would of been a good job for an quick clean but this was supposed to be a deep clean that we paid $750 for. We called the office and a supervisor got back to us right away. We were very appreciative of that. They said take some pictures and send them to us. So we sent them around 20 pictures that were very obviously things that should not of been missed and very clear that it was a poor cleaning job. After a few days of silence i tried calling. Couldn't get a hold of the supervisor and left several messages for her but she still hasn't replied. I really want to get this resolved, I did not want to write a poor review and if the communication had of continued I am sure we could of worked something out. However, it has been over a week now and still complete silence from Opulent Cleaning. I am very disappointed, the supervisor said they guarantee their work but that clearly was a lie. I can accept them missing a few while cleaning, accidents happen but the lack of communication, the complete silence is just unacceptable. Rob
