We have all the reviews of people who are buying the services and products of Better Business Bureau Of Central & Northern Alberta (Cleaning Company) in the territory close to Alberta (Canada).
As of day this firm has a score of 2.2 stars over 5 and this rating has been calculated on 76 reviews.
You must have seen that the average of ratings that it reaches is scarce, and it's founded on a high number of feddbacks, so we may say that the assessment is quite faithful. If people have bothered to give their opinion when they are satisfied with the business, it works.
As you know, we don't usually bother to place reviews when they are good and we usually do it only if we've had a problem or incidence...
This Cleaning Company is classified in the category of Non-profit organization.
BBB has been great for me, 5 years later I still pay my premium works for us.
Horrible company, doesn’t actually do anything great for consumers. If you are a company owner and have one complaint, legitimate or not, if you don’t respond to the complaint through bbb they will hammer your rating. I’m my case I dealt directly with the consumer who issued the complaint. Problem was solved and they walked away super happy. Tell that to bbb and they don’t do anything about it, it’s legal slander. If you own a company and bbb calls you stay away!!!!
Useless
What a joke. When I asked for a follow up on a complaint because the business (Sherwood Ford) was putting out FALSE statements on google reviews, they said they would not investigate.
Absolutely cater to the business. Dont waste your time, this office in particuar are all yes men.
My story will mirror others that have posted. The BBB "business model" simply caters to the businesses who pay in to the service. That is all you need to know. Certainly a small percentage of the time they will rectify things, but they are at the end of the day a paid service. Many times to simply protect the business. They likely will do little to help your situation so do not think they are working for the consumer, they definitely will not be. You did not pay them annual fees, the businesses that join did.
Such a scam!!! They give businesses bad grades if they don't pay the outrageous fees. The staff work on commission, and threaten people with bad grades. Complete scum!
Rubbish. Surprised the BBB is in existence.
They will not help at all. Don't even bother waiting your time dealing with them. They will not help.
Shaw Direct is allowing one installer in a small area of Alberta Beach, Darwell, West Cove to dictate who he will install Satelite TV for. Joe the Installer does not like being questioned on why he is not doing his job and then refuses service to you. There is no one else in the area. When you call to complain Shaw Direct actually allowed me to be on hold for 1:28:44. That is correct. Over an hour. Not sure what kind of service that is but I went to TELUS.... wow the service has been great.
Reliable duct pro company is a very bad , cheater and Fraud company. Government should take action against this type of cheaters I don't know from where they find our numbers and keep calling us, everyday at least 3 to 5 times. When we were agreed they sent us a confirmation message about their price and other details. But when the guys came , they were charging unusually high price then the commitment. We sealed with $271 92 with tax and the guys were asking $380 At the schedule date. PLEASE BE AWARE IF THIS CHEATER AND FRAUD COMPANY.
I have dealt with the BBB in Edmonton, and I found them to be arrogant and not helpful. But most troubling about the BBB is the issue of CONFLICT OF INTEREST. The organization accepts money from companies it is supposed to keep an eye on. Think about it folks ... it's a clear conflict.
Extremely poor work done by BBB. I had a complaint filed against business but got verbally abused by employee from BBB who supposed to be helping. His name is Kevin Cameron.
Need a Plumber Canada has been a member of the Better Business Bureau for many years and has always appreciated the professional manner in which this organization conducts its business. We have noticed over the years that the individuals that are employed with the Better Business Bureau appear to have an extreme level of comprehension of the issues at hand, while still maintaining a very neutral position. The Better Business Bureau would appear to have a very efficient and effective training program for their staff. I would assume that trying to resolve problems between consumers and businesses would be very stressful and yet the interaction is always friendly and courteous. We, at our company, when training our employees on how to deal with customers, use the representatives of the Better Business Bureau as an example.
The BBB is a joke. It is used by companies with crooked business practices as a way to protect themselves from court challenges. A consumer must waive his right to sue if he goes to BBB arbitration. And the so-called investigations they do are a joke. So, this is not a consumer protection organization. It should be called Bad Business Protector agency.
If I could give a minus star I would. Their staff annoy me.
Far more concerned with making money than protecting customers. They give out A ratings to anyone willing to pay their fee Waste of time in 2017.
What is a scam? Is the BBB a scam? Is today's Better Business Bureau just a modern day "Protection Racket" ? Do they protect their paying members by screening complaints ? Is their system bias against all businesses that refuse to pay the BBB money? Can you really trust BBB ratings or their so called accreditation? Go on Google and search for ......... 20/20 Investigation of the BBB .......watch the video. Want to check out what other businesses have to say? Search Google for ........ CBC Investigates the BBB.......and watch another informative video. Did you know that only about 5% of all businesses are actually members of the BBB. Did you know that the BBB is not part of government, nor is it government sanctioned. Did you know that the BBB is simply a private business with over 117 franchises in North America. One has to respect the roughly 95% of all businesses who have refused to pay money to a franchised outfit just to get a good grade or whatever. I rate the BBB with an "F". Businesses have no right to rate or otherwise discredit any other businesses. Who gives them the right and one must question the motive?
The businesses pay the BBB, not the unsatisfied customer, SO GUESS WHO THEY SIDE with on a complaint, it is not the customer. Do not use any business that is assocated with the BBB
Terrible - Stay far away from these guys
BBB in Edmonton is a joke. I don’t know if they can’t read a complaint or they actually support fraudsters like Derrick Dodge in Edmonton. Derrick Dodge in Edmonton sold us a car and we signed the bill of sale on one day. We liked to pick up our car with the new license plate the next day and what did Derrick Dodge? “Sorry! The purchase price is now $4,000 more and you have to sign a second bill of sale before you get the car!” Nobody called us before we registered the car and now we could not give it back. Well. BBB Edmonton thinks that this is legal in Edmonton! (Raising the purchase price without telling the customers!) Well BBB Edmonton. No idea if you ever finished great 2 at school. Even the police said this is not legal. Does actually anyone take you guys for serious? Sorry! I can’t give you guys zero stars. Hopefully the one star isn’t too heavy to carry! BBB actually closed right away our complaint so they can’t get bothered with a follow up anymore. The contact email info@..... does not accept emails = delivery error! I’m guessing on purpose! As other people have been saying already. BBB is a joke! No idea why a dealership like Derrick Dodge Edmonton has a A+ on BBB. Ohh yes. Like others wrote already. BBB is protecting the businesses instead doing what they should do. Well. We consumers do not pay BBB membership fees. Right?! Check out BBB responses online!
Stay away from Barry Hoffman if your are buying or selling a home in Edmonton, He works for Home and Garden Real Estate. He changed the terms, misrepresented us,lied and did nothing we asked him to do, then charged three grand more than he quoted. Look elsewhere, he is not legit.
Recently contacted BBB for a complaint. The only thing worked contacting BBB was that the business who has been ignoring me finally contacted me but very disappointing response/comment from BBB. Read all the reviews afterward and I strongly agree that BBB does not stand for the customers, BBB stands for the businesses. Do not trust BBB much from the recent experience.
BBB puts ratings and comments up for companies the general population can not comment. False information then!! If it is a management company if you are not one of the people who have hired them you are not able to post a comment or make a complaint. BBB is you were honest then you should not be representing a company that the general population can not comment on.... or wright a complaint. BBB shame on you
I called more than once about dardon roofing that displayed a bbb logo on their website and was not an accredited member and have now changed their name to skyward roofing and are also displaying they are bbb accredited and according to bbb they are accredited I phoned months ago about still nothing done, This man darrel bruens who is listed as the owner is nothing but a conman, next this company will disappear along with whatever promises they have given; Then magically they will be back in business under a new name conning people and the bbb just sit back a really does nothing their bbb logo is a joke they have no interest in anything but the money they can get from companies and the ones that don't pay and still put their logo on their websites they it seems do nothing about it. THE BBB IS NOTHING BUT A JOKE IF YOU SEE BBB ON A WEBSITE IT MEANS LESS THAT ZERO.
Don't waste your time filing complaints with the BBB. Filed one 3.5 months ago and still no help in getting it resolved. If you check out the business in question, it still shows an A+ rating depsite an unresolved complaint, not to mention 2 negative complaints from other people. Seems all they are concerned about is protecting their clients. yes clients. The business pays to be part of the BBB.
ROE Roofing & Exteriors. They replaced my 26 year old shingles. They did the work when they said they would. They did an excellent job, cleaned up, added additional vents at no extra cost and they even shingled my garden shed for free. I will be recommending ROE to my family & friends.
proud to be a member
I have been a member of the BBB for almost a year, I am very happy with the services they have provided for me...keep up the good work!
The Better Business Bureau Extorts Businesses Period. How this obsolete criminal organization continues to operate is beyond belief. They are little more then a glorified thugs shaking down business for fees and threatens when dues are not paid. They do not care about public interest only revenue for the bottom line. ASK ANY BUSINEES OWNER WHO HAS DELT WITH THEM!! THE PUBLIC NEEDS TO KNOW. INTREVIEW EX EMPLOYEES. This is an illegal scam operation surviving off old marketing credibility. They need to be shut down. I encourage more people the give an honest review on the BBB. Irony :)
Became an accredited Business 2 years ago and only wish I had been invited sooner!
The BBB are nothing but low life scam artists! I have owned my own business for almost 10 years now and the Better Business Bureau have bugged and bugged me to sign up with them. After repeatedly turning down their offer they have decided to rate my company an F on their rating scale. Why and what is their reasoning for this rating? According to the Add review company (a made up company by the BBB that pesters company’s that are not part of the BBB) we published an add in the Sun in December labelled Christmas specials and did not put an end date on our add. So they decide to rate my company an F? We have never had a customer go to the BBB with a complaint and never had any issues with making any customers unsatisfied with our product or service. However I did some research into the paid and sign up members, and found that they have rated companies with an A+ that have screwed people around like crazy! Here is a company to check out Costco Wholesale. The BBB rated them an F? Costco is maybe the easiest going business I have ever dealt with. They will gladly take back and return anything you have a problem with. But you will also notice Costco is not a member of the BBB. This just proves what the BBB really is really all about. (making money) If you your not a member you will get a terriable rating. I would not support the BBB ever and hope more people and companies expose this company for what they really are! A bunch of bully’s trying to sign up companies to pay them so they don’t rate their company a low ratting! They should be ashamed of them self’s! I could go on and on about these low lives’s but I have a business to run so I can put food on my table for my wife and kids. Fortunately I have a real business that doesn’t scam people into signing up so I wont give them a poor rating. For more details on the BBB just look up CBC news and you see more stories about this company! Anyone working for this company should be ashamed to be part of such a scam. Incredible what a terrible rating they have with Google! Glad to see people making a stand and exposing the BBB for what they really are!
They help solve your problems. I really like it!
Have been a member for a few years. They have helped me get some jobs. They had better start fixing their online reputation or I'm going to stop paying them.
Our experience with Enviropaving was less than satisfactory. The work itself was done fairly well and the gentleman who came to our home was very friendly and professional, however the customer service from Ellen and Jason is significantly lacking. We first came across enviropaving at a home and garden show in Feb 2019. That same month, Jason came to our home with samples and provided us with a quote to have our front porch completed with their product. On this date, we agreed to go ahead with the work and signed a contract to have the work completed and paid a deposit. At this point in time Jason let us know that they usually begin booking the jobs in May (2019) knowing that the original booking date often gets bumped due to rain, and the work not being able to be complete in raining conditions. My husband and I wait until the end of June 2019 without any word from enviropaving to even book a tentative date. We end up going back and forth with emails, calls and texts with Ellen from eviropaving saying someone will be in touch to book a time to come out, but never actually scheduling a time. This goes on for months, until in September 2019 we call enviropaving and ask to cancel our contract and have our deposit returned as we are now into the fall and don’t expect our work to be completed. That weekend we have someone out to do the work. Enviropaving send out one employee who arrives around 2pm and states that the job should only take 3 hours to complete. The worker is at our home until 8pm, we don’t have a chance to take a good look at the work because it’s dark out but generally it looks okay, we pay the remainder of our bill and he leaves. I call Ellen a couple days later to activate our 5 year warranty and while on the phone with her mention that there was some paint splatter on the siding of our home from the application of the product. I asked if she knew of a way to clean this off, she stated that she would connect with Jason about it and get back to me, this was on Sep 24/19. I had not heard anything from Ellen, so followed up on Oct 5/19 and was once again told that Jason is taking a look at the pictures I sent and he would be reaching out on how to remedy the damage done to our siding. Our request continues to be ignored and I end up reaching out to Ellen on Oct 12, Oct 22, Oct 31, and Nov 9. Finally on Nov 9th I ask for a refund of $200 to cover the cost of repairing the damages ourselves as it has now snowed and there is no way that Jason is coming out to fix the repairs now that it’s winter. I am once again told that he will come out this weekend as the weather is supposed to be warm and he will complete the repairs, but no date or time given. It is now November 28th, no one has come to my home to complete the repairs, no one as reached out to connect, no phone, email, or text and no refunds or compensation for the damages have been provided or even offered. In the end, I love the product, but hated the service. I cannot recommend enviropaving. If the product is what you are after, there are other companies that offer it, go there.
Today the 12th of July/ 2016 the Better Business Bureau of Northern busted my business bubble with information that as a new business owner I had to be in business for 1 year in order to qualify to be part of their community name ! It's as if they do not want small business to advance and become successful ! All small business start - ups should investigate the BBB before ever thinking of signing up with them and know ahead of time the archaic standards that they have in place and should be change to suit the new and up - coming styles of new businesses that are the horizon ! Make it easier for small business to become accredited with them so we all prosper which moves us all forward in reaching success sooner than later ! I planned for this day for months and in one conversation was totally axed and prevented from moving on to where I wanted to go with progress in my business ! You get NO STARS from me !
BBB is useless, I contacted them about Mighty Peace Powersports in Peace River and how I paid over $5000 to them to fix my rzr and after two three week periods they gave it back unsuseable. I took it to another dealer in Grande Prairie to fix the problems caused by Mighty Peace, the GP dealer acknowledged that the problems are caused by poor workmanship and Mighty Peace agrees to pay the bill but then they only pay a portion of the bill so I had to pay again to get my machine back. BBB says that if Mighty Peace Powersports paid anything then that is good enough for them and they closed the file. Bad dealerships know that nobody is watching them so no wonder they do what they do, we need a real consumer protection department not this paid off outfit. The reviews show that BBB is a joke but I had to find out for myself. If they respond to this post it will be to say that it's not their job or some other limp excuse.
There taking complaints from liers and herassers like charle cook and they don't want to answer the business owners when they call
I have had more than one business that I have listed with the BBB and I can truly say they provide the service in a professional manor. Most people who have a grievances will spend the effort to make bad complaints, and reviews based on there emotion, that being said, emotionally unstable folks will cause contractors issues based on there tendency to complain about any service they receive. The BBB will contact a members if a complaint that has been made but a investigation is made to validate the complaint. I as a business owner have had my reputation in question over a complaint from a deceiving customer who could no afford the service but still had it performed with the intention of using the BBB as leverage and it worked! Members take the effort to provide excellence because we want the A+ rating and I only call members for my services.
Bbb puts your business profile on their website without your permission. Gives you rates without even letting you know. Allow random people post negative reviews about your business, regardless of your multiple 5-star reviews on Google and overall 5-star rating on Google. And when you ask them who is that person, who wrote a misleading, negative review and if they even verified that person, because we never had a client named so and so, they say that you can go to your account to reply to that review. All this while you don't even have an account with BBB. Totally obvious that they want you to create an account and pay them for that account. And they won't be even verifying who writes reviews and for what reason.. Such a scam!! BTW, since day one after we opened a company, it was almost 10 years ago they kept calling us all the time to sign us for BBB accreditation. Stay away from this company!
If I could give less than one star I would! The BBB has a very unfair and unethical way when reporting on a company. We own a rental business and in our rental terms and conditions it clearly states which the customer agrees to prior to the rental they are responsible for a rental deposit. One of our customers lost some of our product. This customer told us if we didn’t return the deposit despite the fact the product was not returned she would file a complaint with the BBB. The BBB even though this was agreed to prior to the rental in writing by way of a rental agreement posted a negative review about our business. It’s apparent that the people at the BBB have an unfair reporting practice on businesses and do not know how a business has to operate. If a business loses its product it won’t be in business very long. Does that even matter to the BBB? It appears not! In our experience the BBB is an unfair organization which claims they are appointed by the government and associated with the government to report on companies which is completely incorrect. After speaking with the government we found out that the BBB has no more rights than any other business and they are not appointed by the government nor associated with the government at all. Update: They are now listing the complaint as a delivery issue. This is also misleading the public because it never was a delivery issue. What a farce!!!!!!
These people don't even deserve a star! They offered me everything in the world just to get the $500. The day my subscription expired my rating dropped to an F- . They unfairly give any teary eyed consumer all the hugs and kisses even though the complaints are absolutely ridiculous. For instance, I had one customer crying the blues about how she couldn't afford to pay the full amount for tree work. After a substantial discount she started making noise about wanting the receipt for a cash job. She went so far as to complain to this currupt organization. AND THEY GAVE HER ANNAUDIENCE! And my rating was tarnished because I refused to succumb. Several hundred customers are pleased but a few can kill you here. Shame on them. And shame on the government for selling this once good organization. After complaining to the bbb I said I wanted out and my money back. A refund was promised and I've never seen a penny to this day 2 years later. Discussing! Being judged by an entity that can't withhold itself to its own demands!!!!
Our of our tenants rented a condo from a building where water flooding was happened, and unfortunately the condo board and the property management company for the building were having issues to get it resolved in a timely manner. However, the tenant wrote bad review on us via BBB, after repeatedly explanation to him that as the owner, we were the victim as well and we had no control over the whole situation. Brought this concern to BBB, their staffs kicked the ball around and refused to do anything about this bad review. And finally someone on the management level promised to call back, but never did. Very disappointed with BBB and learned my lesson: I'd better off to spend time and energy to build strong relationship with my own clients, rather than to pay BBB for their meaningless stickers and allow them to treat you like you are next to nothing. The practice how they treat their members is very troublesome.
This BBB is scam they just take ur money and do no help any business. stay away all they care about is getting your yearly dues. we have told them and shown then proof that the complaint is not valid and they still refuse to take it down. Honestly don't sign up they are a made up organization who is only here for there money. Look at there reviews and see for yourself.
My first stop before Google! Accredited business' all the way for me. I have not had any issues with finding a good service for my repair needs.
I have to say I agree with many of the posts on google regarding the BBB. I had an issue with a home builder (roofing specifically) and when I lodged a complaint the BBB literally did nothing to assist me. The exact specifics are long and drawn out and certainly not worth mentioning, but suffice to say, my complaint went unresolved and the BBB simply closed my complaint. Essentially a roofing company did unauthorized work and then threatened to take me to court/collections if I didn't pay their invoice. Thankfully the amount was too low to care about ($2,200) so I just paid it as the hassle of court/credit damage didn't justify such a small amount. Regardless, it really opened my eyes as to what the BBB stands for. The internet is so powerful - companies like the BBB need to offer productive services or their reputation will quickly catch up with them as many people use google to search for everything.
AVIOD THIS COMPANY AT ALL CSTS, I received a flex loan, I paid the extra money for insurance to cover in the event I got hurt at work or laid and couldn't make the payments. I was laid off of work, the insurance industry paid extra for ment nothing ! I will be going to the Better Business Bureau and I will be complaining about this to my local MLA I highly recommend you do the same. This company and its employees, are a scam!
The BBB system is a total farce. Although over its time on Earth, the BBB has done a LOT to protect against scams, and advocates for consumers rights, the rating system and reporting system for complaints is a joke, a farce and quite frankly a fraud. There is the obvious conflict-of-interest problem. They take "subscription" or "membership" donations from businesses. This means that businesses are the BBB's source of income. But businesses are their object of complaint. So, if a consumer complains to the BBB, they are complaining about one of their sources of income. Obviously, this is a problem. When you make a complaint to the BBB about one of their lovely A+ accredited clients, you need to be VERY VERY careful of what info you give them. If you have to sue the company involved (as I had to) you cant just be handing over your evidence before the court proceedings, this would give the company an unfair advantage in coming up with a strategy to defend against your claims. Remember, the BBB is powerless to get you back your money, to do anything to the company your complaining about and really, who does the BBB protect? you or someone paying them thousands of $ a year? Think about it
I attempted to go through the BBB complaint process in order to resolve in a conciliatory manner a dispute with a local garage door company (Kangaroo Garage Doors Ltd.) who destroyed my garage door and left me out of pocket over $2,000. After the BBB complaint process was completed in 2-3 months nothing was resolved and Kangaroo Garage Doors retained it's A+ BBB rating despite numerous other consumer complaints against the company. I used to trust the BBB ratings of companies but no more. Don't trust BBB ratings, they may not always represent the quality of companies you are expecting.
This company needs to be shut down, They are ignoring complaints, blatantly saying no sorry you didn’t provide sufficient information. They don’t call they ask for text which is a joke and shows the lack of concern they have. They are protecting companies that shouldn’t be running. Another business of people who sit in a chair doing nothing. When you try to file on you’re smart phone it’s almost impossible to do.
Don't waist your time with there complaint process. I submitted a complaint about my builder and the issues I was having. They dismissed the complaint after 6 weeks cause the builder didn't reply to there email. So that tells me that even the companies that are BBB accredited might not be good companies either. They pay a large fee for that BBB rating. Such a scam. I sent in a complaint hoping to save the next person from using this builder but guess I was not very successful.
I put in a review and they accused me of not using a companies service. I showed them receipts and ghosted me because they know they did not follow their due process
Do not have the resources to handle everyday business
If it was not for the BBB I would have never had a satisfactory resolution with Crosstown Motors here in Edmonton. As soon as BBB was involved Crosstown began to cooperate with me to solve my "issues" with them. Before I got the BBB involved Crosstown refused to honor anything that was verbally discussed at time of new vehicle purchase. Thank You BBB!
